Soon enough, the slug-vomiting began to abate. No more slimy animals joined their peers upon the dueling piste. Their comrades moved together off the raised platform and went to hide elsewhere. Similarly, Akira began to feel better, if just incrementally. However, his enraged mood did not lift.

He smirked in satisfaction at the sight of flames flickering through the fog, and at the sound of the older boy coughing and wheezing. It seemed that vengeance served as a useful friend today, one that he will hopefully not have to rely on in the future. How this supposedly 'friendly' duel had made a turn for the worse, he didn't know, and certainly wouldn't have been able to imagine beforehand. The nerve of Henry Knight -- thinking that he could try to humiliate Akira at a foreign school in which he was the visitor. He thought that Hogwarts could show better hospitality than that. However, he was fortunate enough to have met Lizzy Solace: the single, most sane person at Hogwarts he had met so far... Perhaps Hogwarts wasn't all bad, and there was still the smallest chance that he would come back in the spring.

Soon enough, the flames were extinguished. Akira readied himself for his next spell -- Knight just wouldn't let him win, won't he? Before he could plan his next action, a string of light struck him. He felt his limbs stiffen, and clamp to his sides. Hardly able to maintain balance, he slammed to the floor, sending an ache up his shoulder, but he was too frozen to make a noise. As the fog lifted, he saw Knight gathering his things and running out of the Dueling Club, leaving him lying there on his own.

That bastard. Was he just going to run away and leave him there? Right when Akira was so sure he was about to win and take back his pride with a vengeance? That boy was too proud to let him finish it, wasn't he? He was so close to stealing a win from an upperclassman.

But all he could do now, was lie here until the spell wore off, or until someone found him and cast the counter-spell.

He seethed through clenched teeth, eye twitching, then narrowing, thinking the worst of Henry Knight. The next time he met him... He would make Knight regret it.

Thread finished.
