The second bout of spells had Galton biting his nails. Just kidding, it was almost boring. If it wasn't for Cade it would have been as if the duel hadn't even started.

But the clever Raven would take advantage of the vulnerable Badger. Like their house mascots, the Raven struck from where the Badger could not see. Callista was able to do little to remove herself from the path of Cade's flipendo. With a thud the magic would crash into the poor duelist, sending her back a bit. And who knows, it may have even helped with removing the blindfold.

With all eyes accounted for the duelists were in better positions to do what they came here for: murder brutalize maim each other with magic. In a fun way!

Willow was thankful that 3/4 of them were blindfolded, so while most of them were removing the dang things Cade was the only one that could cast. It was no wonder Callista couldn't dodge, her sight taken from her. It wasn't a terribly damaging spell, but Willow knew the ache. "You okay over there?" Her eyes narrowed at Cade. Willow had begun to see Callista like a little sister that she never had, which meant she had become a little bit protective of the girl. Nothing was personal on the duelling piste, except for Santario's whole deal last time, but Willow would still do her best to protect the younger duellist.

It might have been cheap to target Callista while she was blindfolded, but that was the point, wasn't it? Might as well take advantage while he had the chance, right? It was nothing personal, that was one thing he had to keep in mind throughout this match. Cade was actually quite pleased with himself, managing to do the first bit of damage during the duel is something to be proud of. So without many further shenanigans, everyone managed to remove their blindfolds and went back to exchanging appraising looks. Blowing the bangs from his eyes, Cade got ready for the next round.

Even as she fumbled with the knot, Callista braced herself for the incoming hit. There was no doubt that the younger Ravenclaw - she couldn't quite remember his name... it started with K, or maybe C - would take full advantage of their blindness. Right as the light came flooding in, a powerful force slammed into her ribs. An involuntary grunt escaped her as she blinked, disoriented at the sudden change of lighting.

Willow's concern warmed her heart, and Callista sent a smile her way. "I'm alright, still good to go!" While her previous duelling partners were nice enough, she had never had someone quite like Willow, and she couldn't help the genuine smile that spread across her face like sunlight breaking through a cloudy day.

She was still hot on adrenaline and nerves, but she had a smile - albeit a small one - and that was what mattered.

Delilah just had hers off in time to see it. She shot him a proud grin. This was going well, this was do-able, the small amount of anxiety she had before the duel now officially gone.

What delights flew cross the piste! Even the untrained eye would be dazzled by the display of magical prowess this round. Both of the Duelists able to split their magic did so, duplicating their chances and the sparkles. Three of the four casts were near perfection, surely, this would be interesting.

But for all of the magic sent flying at one another, there would be only one impact; a sad product of poor aim and agile feet. Willow would try a move that Galton held dear - a split Ventus - true beauty. Except every flow of air missed. And none of the bursts split further. Pretty, but inconsequential.

Callista and Delilah seemed to be connected. Perhaps Callista was just a younger version of Delilah. They had managed to make the same move (minus the spell spread part) at every turn of this match! This round held a bout of flipendos from the pair. Delilah was able to avoid the spells headed her way, but poor Callista would not. Delilah's flipendo would find Callista like Cade's had. And you could see the two flipendos were having a effect on the poor duelist. Maybe she would be okay... Maybe.

And then there was Cade. Cade sent a disgustingly beautiful spell across at poor Callista. Mucus Ad Nauseam still held a special place in Galton's stomach as his least favorite spell in existance. But Cade's cast was skillful, another near perfect display. His aim, on the other hand, was not. Callista was able to side step the slobbery ball of magic.

It seemed this round had been visually stunning, but only a little physically stunting.

Cade narrowly danced out of the way of Willow's split wind jinx and found that he was holding his breath. Once he was soundly out of harm's way and balanced upon his feet, the young Ravenclaw set his eyes back upon Callista and waving his wand, mustered up the focus for the curse of the bogies. "Mucus ad nauseam!" the spell came almost effortlessly and danced across the dais. But Callista too saw it coming and managed to take evasive action. Cade might have cursed under his breath but before he could feel too outraged, Delilah landed a well-struck flipendo at Callista. A grin stretched out on Cade's face. "Nice one," the wizard offered his praise. They had been lucky so far, Cade was glad that all the extra work on his agility had paid off.

Duelling always made her feel like she was dancing. Callista had become the target of both Ravenclaws, unsurprisingly, but it was frustrating that her spell hadn’t landed. As she sent the Knockback Jinx flying, she spotted Cade’s spell incoming, forcing her to divide her attention to avoid the spell. She shrank back from the light, only filled with thoughts of the nasty consequences that would ensue if it hit. Unfortunately, this also meant that she ran right into Delilah’s spell.

The impact seemed to hurt even more than the last one, stealing her breath for a few moments. “I hate this spell,” she muttered. Ironic considering she had sent the exact same spell at Delilah, but you have to remember that every time she had lost, the Knockback Jinx was the last spell that sent her over. And the two hits were really taking its toll - it was hard to breath, and her ears were filled with a weird rushing sound.

I can’t go down just yet.

[font=Times new roman]Wow there was a lot of dodging this time around, Del fired a split spell, managing to hit calli, Willow also split her spell, but both of the ravenclaws were able to dodge it. Callista finally sent a spell at Delilah, but she was able to hop out of the way. A grin appeared on Delilahs face, out of the 6 spells that were cast, only one of hers hit her target. Certainly one way to make her feel decent about herself.

A spark of fear lit within Willow's gut, worried that this would end up like her last duel where it was her versus two other talented duellists. Callista couldn't go down yet- but she was taking quite a beating from the other two. It wasn't surprising. A normal tactic for duelling was to take out the younger duellist. It frustrated Willow, made her feel like she wasn't really a threat. Even more frustrating was the fact that Delilah was also really good at splitting her spell. As much as she wanted to comfort Callista, for the moment she couldn't. Gritting her teeth and preparing for the next round.
