Guy sat in shock at what the two girls were saying, he only meant his statement as a joke of sorts, not to be taken seriously. "I mean, my wand has dragon heart-string in it, but I didn't think that was ACTUAL dragon heart-string! - Just some sort of plant or name for a rare material, wow." Guy said, looking around at both girls. "You said there was a class on magical creatures? I can't wait to be in that I have so much to learn. I feel like I have so much to catch up on compared to you guys, it's going to be really tough..." Guy said, beginning to feel a bit worried for himself, he was always a mediocre student, but he seemed really out of his depth here at Hogwarts.

Guy looked down the table at the rows and rows of students all talking away, shaking hands and greeting each other. Guy started to finally notice some of the older students at each of the tables, relaxing in their seats and eating with their friends. "Would that be me? What will life be like in 5 years, can I actually make it here and become one of those kids?" Guy thought to himself.

Lucien had been looking for a place to sit for a while. He hadn't planned on sitting beside his sister until he saw her sitting beside another male. Being the over-protective brother he was, he walked over towards her and managed to squeeze in between Guy and Aravis. At that he heard people talking about dragons. "Hi yes I heard dragons and I've arrived. Hello Maeve, hello Isolde." He figured they didn't know Aravis's middle name but shrugged at the thought. He had a habit calling her by her middle name. The mere mention of dragons would practically summon the short raven haired boy. "I'm Lucien Avery Escanora, Aravis's brother." He introduced himself with a smile. He noticed his sisters plate and sent a glare her way. "Aravis Isolde Escanora! For heaven's sake you twig would you actually eat for once?" He muttered glaring at her before taking a bite of his own meal, sounding a bit like his strict Aunt who had often gotten onto the two about eating properly. He rather liked the food unlike his sister who was probably making faces at him while he wasn't looking. He realized he had interrupted their conversation but shrugged it off. Being a protective brother was more important than asking to join.

"I have a drag-dragon scale at home on my wall. My sister Dahlia got it for me." Maeve beamed.

"Don't worry, Guy, you're not behi-behind anyone. Some pure-blood families don't believe in tea-teaching their kids any magic befo-beforeha-beforehand, and there's not too many pure-blood families left. Mostly half-bloods and mug-muggleborns like yourself. And I could always help you if you nee-needed it!" Maeve assured her friend quickly. She didn't want him to feel inferior due to his blood status. It didn't mean anything unless you talked to the snobby old prejudiced witches and wizards who didn't believe in allowing 'mudbloods' into the wizarding world.

"Oh! Hi, Lucien!" Maeve beamed at her friend. "Did you finish the DADA assignment? I did it right when I had a spare mo-moment." She was talking very quickly, which was strange for the petite girl. Usually she was very selective with her words, only speaking in short, curt sentences. Hogwarts was bringing out the best in her for sure.

"Aravis, your middle name is so pretty! Mine's Eleanor. After my mum's mum. Yours is just ex-exot-exotic. In a good way." Maeve said, a bit of awe and envy dripping into her voice. She still sounded lighthearted and her eyes were practically glowing with happiness.

Guy nodded at Lucien and greeted him, introducing himself as well before looking back at Maeve who was speaking. "Whoa, a dragon scale? That must be huge! I'm so glad I met you, I'll need a lot help this year for sure. I just have so much to learn, not only magic but basically I'll have to learn the world again, but with some friends it won't be too bad." Guy's eyes went wide for a moment, "Oh, and I know I can help you guys too. I heard there is a class on muggle studies, I'm sure I'll do great, history was my favorite subject in school." Guy smiled as he finished speaking. Realizing his food was probably getting cold due to all this talking he began to eat again, amazed once more at how good the food was. He wondered what kind of crazy cooking techniques he would be able to learn at Hogwarts. Looking to Maeve again, Guy asked: "Do you know if Hogwarts has a cooking class? Cooking is my absolute favorite thing to do and before all this I wanted to be a chef like my father. I'm sure with magic cooking can be even more incredible!"

Maeve laughed. "Yes, it is very large." She tentatively took a bite of her food, grinning when she found it even better than her mother's cooking.

"I don't actually know if we have a coo-cooking class. Anyone else know?" Maeve looked around the table. "I don't think we do..." She trailed of and took another bite.

The food was really good. So much better than what her siblings had told her it would taste like. "Those wankers..." She muttered under her breath. "Lying about ev-every aspect of Hogwarts." She shook her head.

"My sib-siblings said the food was gross." Maeve laughed. "They're very much liars. So far, they've lied about where the Def-def-defense Against the Dark Arts Classroom is, how bad my stutter is, and now the food. See if I'll trust them ever again." She shot a playful glare over to Benjamin at the Ravenclaw table. He grinned, and it looked almost catlike from her position. 'Git' she mouthed at him, and he nodded, pointing at Dahlia. Maeve shook her head. 'No, you. You, her, and Alex. All three of you, Ben.' She mouthed, rolling her eyes. Benjamin looked positively offended.

"That git," She murmured softly. "Playing the in-inno-innocent."

Aravis glared as her brother sat beside her and lectured her about eating. She mocked him when he wasn't paying attention. Aravis pulled a book out from her robes. It was the book about dragons she was typically seen with in the common room with. It had all of her mothers notes in it. She handed the book to Guy with a smile. "This is my book on dragons, my mother used to study them so now I do. It has basically anything you would want to know. You can borrow it if you want, just keep it safe."

Aravis ate a bite of her food while glaring at it. She disliked that day's meal more than she disliked her family. "Your stutter isn't that bad Maeve, I'm sure it could be worse. Also thank you, about my middle name. Yours is pretty as well." She said with a smile. She was happy someone liked it. "We might have to cook in Muggle Studies. I'm not sure, they use stoves and such. We used to have a refrigerator because my dad thought it was useful." The black haired girl said with a shrug. She wondered what else muggles had. "So, Guy, what other kinds of things have muggles made?"

I will take what is mine with fire and blood.

"My father has a ref-refrig-refrigerator for some of his potion supplies. I'm not allowed in it, though, so I don't know how it works. He says it keeps things cold without magic." Maeve said.

"Thanks, Aravis. It used to be a lot worse, actu-actually. Father tried to fix it with some magic, and it only helped a little bit. I used to stutter every third word." Maeve laughed. "Thank Merlin I don't any-anymore." She smiled.

"What's your favor-favorite type of dragon, Aravis? I really like the Hun-hungar-hungarian Horntail, but the Chinese Fireball is really cool too!" Maeve blurted excitedly. She was the only one in her family with this passion for magical creatures, so she never really got to talk about it. This was definitely a first time for Maeve, and she couldn't control how much she was talking, or how fast.

She was talking so fast, it was a wonder she didn't stutter more.

Maybe all the excitement numbed it... Maeve thought. Yes, I bet that's it.

"Muggle cooking seems strange. My mother says that muggles take fore-forever to make large meals. Is that true, Guy? It takes my mother about twenty-five min-minutes to make our Christmas dinner, and it's huge." Maeve asked curiously.

Ophelia was slightly startled at Lucien's abrupt introduction, but the quickly shook herself out of it. She didn't necessarily approve of his scolding towards his sister, but Ophelia couldn't help but admit that she herself had done it too her younger siblings. She always made sure they stayed in line, probably even more so than her own parents. It honestly even became second nature for her, and half the time she didn't realize she was scolding them until after she finished her lecture.

She looked at Lucien and gave him a smile. "Oh, hello, I don't think I've seen you around yet. My name's Ophelia Swanson."

She then turned to Guy and said: "And don't worry about having to catch up, we're all just really interested in dragons and magical beasts, so it's a lot easier for us to learn something we're passionate about. I'm sure when it comes to muggle studies you'll be the one leaving us behind!"

She knew the struggle of keeping up with her studies. As both of her parents were sorted into Ravenclaw during their time at Hogwarts, Ophelia found it hard to keep up with their expectations. She wasn't dumb, and she was actually pretty smart thanks to her parent's upbringing. But even then, she wasn't passionate about learning everything she could like both of her parents did. She only favored a few subjects, and she certainly hated a few as well.

As Maeve mentioned dragon types, Ophelia couldn't help but smile. They were all unique and she loved each of them for specific reasons. But... "I think my favorite is the Antipodean Opaleye dragon. They're just so pretty! I've always wanted to see one, but I don't think I'll be able to see any dragons in my near future anytime soon."

"My Aunt Felicia has one of those!" Maeve squealed. "We're going to stay with her in Romania. She's a dra-drago- oh, you know, dra-dragon studying person." She said.

"It's name is War." Maeve continued. "I think it's bec-because she found it's egg during a dragon fight. Or, just because she's a dragon." Maeve laughed.

"Aunt Felicia has four dragons that she speci-specifically owns. The rest are owned by her rese-research department, but she cares for and studies them." She explained. "I don't know how many there are in all, but I know it's a lot."

Maeve smiled brightly at Ophelia. "How did you get into Mag-magical zoology? Aunt Felicia intro-introduced me, and I loved it instantly. Aunt Felicia's husband, my uncle Gorsen, despises it. He likes mini-ministry work." She rambled. But, she didn't realize she was rambling, which made it even worse, in a way. "He does stuff with runes, I think."

Maeve took another bite of food, and it shut her up for a minute. A small window of peaceful silence opened up, but then it was closed again by Maeve.

"Aravis, Lu, don't you guys have another sib-sibling? Odette, if I've heard correctly? I haven't seen them around. What do they look like?" Maeve asked curiously.

Ophelia's eyes widened in surprise at what Maeve said. "What? Your aunt owns an Antipodean Opaleye? That's amazing! You're so lucky your aunt works with dragons! Dragons are honestly my favorite magical creatures, them or phoenixes." Her voice had tints of jealousy in it. She could only dream of seeing dragons, and yet Maeve had an aunt who worked with them! It truly left her in awe. Ophelia was so glad to have met Maeve.

"I actually first learned about Magic Zoology from my parents. See, they liked to tell me stories of all kinds to keep me exposed to all different kinds of knowledge... They're not experts in the subject, but when I first heard about dragons and unicorns, I was so fascinated about their features. I actually had to do most of the research on my own, but it honestly wasn't a concern given how much I enjoyed reading about them. They're just so interesting, and there's so much about them to read!"

Ophelia's eyes brightened as she continued to talk about magical creatures. Even though it wasn't her favorite subject to study about, it was definitely her favorite to talk about. She always thought that Magic Zoology had the most interesting things to talk about, whereas she saw subjects like Herbology more as something that skill would have to be shown rather than discussed.
