Friend and ferret?
@Juniper Kelly
Word count: 220
Pax was sat alone yet again, watching as they blended into the background of the small groups of students that passed by. It was early morning, and not many others were awake yet.
They sat perched on one of the walls of the courtyard, legs crossed, twiddling their wand in one hand and biting into an apple in the other. Their head raced with numerous thoughts of what could happen during the day, but more than anything they longed for a friend. Since September they'd been trying to find a close friend, and although they knew many people from all houses, they didn't find anyone willing to sit down and spend time with them.
Yawning, Pax had to keep blinking to stay awake. They didn't know why they had insisted in getting up so early. Most of the school were still asleep, or at least they assumed. They hadn't seen anyone.
They ran their hand through their newly cut and dyed hair (done themselves, and quite well they had to admit), eyes flitting back and forth in attempt to keep them preoccupied. They didn't like that they had so much free time. It felt odd, unnatural.
Suddenly, out of nowhere, a flash of fur streaked past, and Pax's breakfast had vanished.
"Hey!" They yelled. "Who stole my food?"
