Gryffindor vs Slytherin: Match 3

As she stepped back into the Duelling Club, Lydia took a deep breath, her shoulders tense, as she mentally prepared to take onto her moderating role once again, and even if the first stage of duelling had ended a while ago, it still felt like it was only yesterday that Ravenclaw and Gryffindor were facing each other. The young Captain had definitely missed the hype for the start of the duels, the strategizing of the team, and everything that would lead to that day.
One foot after the other, Lydia made her way through the people that had already gathered around the platform, and hopped onto it, her eyes looking around to spot the duellists from Gryffindor and Slytherin. She immediately recognised Ileen, having met her on multiple occasions during the last year, and Lamik; she raised an eyebrow in surprise when she realised that just the year before, during the same time period, she had moderated a duel in which Ileen and Lamik had faced each other. That definitely made this duel even more interesting: Ileen and her duelling partner had a chance to win against the Gryffindor team, and take back the victory from the hands of the Gryffindor team.
Then, she also saw Everly and Hanako, and after catching the attention of both teams, she motioned for them to move towards her. "Hello everybody, and welcome back to the second stage of the Duelling season!" She said, her teeth shining in the light. "Today we will have a duel between Lamik Fillestar and Everly Charlton from Gryffindor, and Ileen Knight and Hanako Tone from Slytherin!" as she introduced the duellists to the spectators, she motioned towards them; then, as per usual, she spoke directly to them. "I know you all know the rules already, but I still like to repeat them, because you never know. No physical attacks are allowed, no matter what; if something like that were to happen, you'd be disqualified. Now, enough of me talking! Duellists, please take your positions," she said, and moved in order to leave the platform free.
Once everybody was in their position, she nodded towards them, and officially started the duel. "Alright then! The duel can start...now!"

Gryffindor vs Slytherin: Match 3
[font=PT Sans]As nonchalant as he looked, he was fighting back a cocky grin from the minute they stepped on the stage. The last duel he went through was…something. He left with more than one injury, and may possibly be one or two flipendo’s away from passing out. But gosh was winning fun. Once he got a taste of it, it was only natural he’d want more. But if there was anything he learned from the last duel was that being too cocky in the beginning may end up with more emotional damage than necessary. There was another highlight of his last duel which, up to this day, could never forget.
And that's how hot his opponents were. No pun intended.
Their names more or less began fading from his memory, but he could still vividly recall their drop dead looks. So much that they were annoyingly dangerous. He loved to see pretty things but not to the extent where he forgot who his opponents were. Perhaps because of his last duel, Hanako wouldn’t be able to hide his initial reaction upon witnessing who he was supposed to fight against today.

Opps, his standards is showing. He should really cut them some slack. They weren’t bad looking at all. In fact, they were quite nice to look at. But at least he was certain they wouldn’t distract him as his previous opponents did. And with that thought, he began to give them a friendly smile.
“ Hmmmm, not as cute as what I’m used to… but nevermind that. Maybe your charms lay more in spellcasting than physical appearance, hm? Maybe charm me first before I make you all fall for me, how about that?” He briefly taunted the pair of Gryffindors. Best time to be an asshat is before they start attacking you. And apart from the sport itself, riling up people was one of Hana’s guilty pleasures.
And he never had the pleasure of interacting with either of his opponents. May they both leave with a lasting memory and perhaps a date if they were lucky that is.

Gryffindor vs Slytherin: Match 3
Ileen was more nervous this time. Why? Well - it was not the first time she encountered Lamik on the stage and last time she had embarrassed herself, backfired her own disarming charm and had been taken out by his painful and powerful Flipendos.
One might think she would be thrilled about that chance of revenge, but she wasn’t. It hadn’t been his fault that she had screwed it up. It had been her only duel loss. Well, this time she would do better.
Her brown eyes shifted from the Gryffindor to his partner and she gave both of them a short and polite nodd. Respect was important - apparently not to Hanako though.
With a sigh she turned to the sassy boy and tilted her head. “Careful there. If you get too distracted by flirting all the time, I will give them a hand and wipe you from the stage.” Of course, she wasn’t serious and the sassy smile on her face should give that away. She kind of enjoyed fighting with Hanako, but she wouldn’t admit that over her dead body.

Lamiks last duel had been embarrassing. Yes, they had won, but his spell casting was far below the standards the he had set for himself. He was a lot more nervous coming into this duel then he was coming into the previous one, but he did his best not to show it. It definitely helped that he was joined by a friendly face from his opponents team- at least, he saw it that way. He had dueled Ileen the previous year, and was more then haply to duel her again. It was much funner to duel when you knew your opponent. Lamik smiled fondly at her, then turned to his second opponent.
Hanako was a stranger, and a strange stranger at that. A strangerer, if you will. It was rather unclear whether he was trying to flirt or to insult. Lamik decided to treat him as though he was attempting the former, and called out:
"Do you accept painful charms too? That's all I can offer."
Finally, he directed his attention towards his partner. "We've got this. I think. I hope. You certainly have, though I'm not so sure about me."

Following the end of Everly's last duel, both her confidence and ego had grown exponentially. Her past dueling record wasn't all that great, and she figured she couldn't break her grand streak of one win just yet.
She and Lamik were to face a pair of third year Slytherins, both of which sparked no recognition. Lamik and Ileen seemed to know each other, while Hanako seemed like a complete idiot. "That's a bit rude, don't you think?" She said, clicking her tongue. "Might want to be a bit nicer when you're going to lose. Normal person things, y'know."

The duel had just started, and both banter and spells were flying across the platform.
Ileen pointed her wand towards Lamik, but the Gryffindor boy had easily avoided the spell, the wind barely moving his hair; on the other hand, Lamik's Incendio Duo did reach Hanako, even if the effect wasn't the expected one: the hem of Hanako's robes caught fire, but the flames didn't seem too big, and the damage dealt was not as high as the one of a full hit.
Both Hanako and Everly had cast spells that would affect both of the opponents: Hanako had cast Metelojinx, and Lydia observed how the lightning avoided the Gryffindor team players for this round. However, the vision on the battlefield would be compromised soon, as Everly's fumos spread all over the platform, even if neither of the Gryffindor duellists seemed particularly affected by that.

Hanako let out a quick dramatic gasp. “ You’d rather face the wrath of our captains than let me have some entertainment? You’re no fun, Knight.” he jested. He wondered just how long he could lightly banter with the girl. Just like their previous duel, Hanako tried hard to forget everything that happened between them and a certain hot blond.
Truthfully, this sort of banter wasn’t something he was eager to let go off. Each duel has its own stress. He couldn’t help that having Ileen as a partner was a big help to that. He’d also rather drop dead now than to admit it. No thoughts, head empty. Just whish wash spells to get this duel over with.

Normal? Nicer? Him? Hanako couldn’t suppress a chuckle at that, quickly turning over to Ileen with a look that said, ‘ Can you believe her? Normal and nice, me? Psdfttttt’. The losing part he was a bit unsure of. It’s a bit too early to be thinking about who was going to win and lose, isn’t it? He’ll remember her words. Whether he’ll bring it up or not depends on the match.
The 1st match began. Being excited to cast the weather jinx, he almost couldn’t see the spell that fired right at him. Fortunately, he wasn’t hit, but this was a nice time to say bye bye to these robes. This Duelling sport really does make them buy new uniforms all the time, don’t they? As much cocky he wanted to be, even he couldn’t deny the power in that incendio duo. He dared not to think of the effects of it if it really did hit him.
“ Awww did you warn about your painful charms because you cared for me? Didn’t want me out so early in the match? Thanks for the heads up, cutie! “ he teased the yellow haired gryffindor with a slight laugh hoping it would help him forget the fact that his clothes are burning. “ Wooooww I didn’t realise you were such a gentlemen, how charming! Gah, if only I could see your cute face easily without all this fog. Might make my heart skip a beat, who knows~!”
But damn he really can’t see much with this fog. Each duel has its own surprises, huh? He’d never dueled in a fog before. Exciting! How will this duel go on, he wonders?

A good start to the duel. Fog covered the stage, but Lamik knew that neither he nor Everly would be particularly bothered by it. He could tell where his opponents were, blinded or not, and he knew that that would give him quite the advantage. "Good cast." He said to his partner, not daring to avert his gaze from his opponents. For his part, Lamik successfully set Hanako's robes on fire. It was a powerful, if imperfectly aimed, spell and he felt a boost of confidence as it hit. Sure, now there was a storm floating above them, and the flashes of magical lightning were quite distracting, but at the moment he wasn't too worried.
"How about a deal?" Lamik called out in response to Hanako's statements. "You surrender, and I'll let you stare all you want." It was a very odd exchange, but it was amusing nonetheless.

Smoke billowed out from her wand tip with little resistance, and Everly finally allowed herself a small smile, masked by the fog surrounding the group. "Not too bad yourself." Ileen's cast missed by a bit, but Hanako's spell summoned a cloud that hovered over their team, and Everly snuck a small glimpse at the storm that thundered directly above them. That might be a small problem.

Ileen had chosen her favorite spell. The wind jinx had served her well in the past and even though she missed by a bit, she was somewhat relieved. At least she didn’t start this round with a backfire - maybe the curse had been broken.
A cheeky smile was shot at Hanako, as he summoned the cloud - both of them were playing with the weather, heh?
But before she was able to come up with a line, she saw her partner almost escaping a burning attack and right after that she saw… nothing.
“Oh no, not this again!" Ileen couldn’t help it. She had had a whole duel with this smoke on the stage. “You are alright over there, Hanako?” According to his comments, he was. Burning, almost blind, but still blabbing. Unbelievable.
With Alexander she had managed to communicate without words through the smoke. This would be a test for their compatibility.
Then she heard Lamiks voice and a sarcastic snort escaped her. “Good idea! You can stare at him and meet me in your nightmares then!” Her words were directed at Hanako, but there was a smirk on her face and clearly in her voice. She knew it was part of his strategy and now she at least knew roughly where the others were standing. Nice job, Hanako. Not that she would say that out loud… [/center]
