Victoria has always loved her herbology class. Since she deals with plants in her normal life, she took pleasure in every herbology class.
Victoria walked to the greenhouses as usual. She was excited for her Herbology class. She found a nice spot and sat down. While waiting for the Professor to arrive, she took out her sketchbook and scribbled something down.
Victoria hadn't noticed that the professor had entered the classroom, but when the professor said she would split the class into partners, Victoria looked up and listened curiously to whom she would match.
Victoria actually smiled when she matched up with Lily, a girl she knew from snowball fights. She thought it was nice to be paired with someone from her own building.
When they were paired with Lily, she gave some thought to start a topic. Victoria looked at Lily and "Hi Lily! Do you remember me? From the snowball fight." she said with a smile. Victoria thought Lily would remember her, so she looked at her curiously.
While waiting for an answer from Victoria Lily, she combed her hair and began to work on the topic they were paired with. Victoria was also thinking about what to ask Lily.

Lily was freezing as she walked outside to the herbology greenhouses. She was, however, quite excited about the class! She liked Herbology so far and she'd gotten an O to her last homework, which made her like it even more.
She sat down and listened quietly to the start of the lesson until the professor announced the students would be pairing up for the day's class. Lily felt a small knot of apprehension in her stomach. She didn't have a problem with working in a group, although she enjoyed working alone, but she was apprehensive about not knowing her partner. Even though it was January, the young Ravenclaw felt like she didn't know a quarter of her classmates and the idea of having to work with a stranger stressed her out a bit.
Fortunately, her partner turned out to be... Victoria! Lily already knew the girl and had even participated in a snowball fight with her the week before.
"Hi Lily! Do you remember me? From the snowball fight."
"Victoria! Of course I remember you! How are you?" she told her, smiling with relief. "I'm so glad to be paired with you, do you enjoy Herbology? What's your favorite subject at Hogwarts?"
Lily was asking a lot of questions but she really wanted to chat with her classmate. She seemed like a really nice girl and, as they started working on the assignment, she hoped they would be able to ge to know each other better.

Victoria! Of course I remember you! How are you?" I'm so glad to be paired with you, do you enjoy Herbology? What's your favorite subject at Hogwarts?"
Victoria gave Lily a big smile. "I'm so glad to partner with you too! And herbology might really be hogwarts' best subject!" Victoria continued to smile.
"I love plants, stars and the moon. So my favorite subjects are herbology and astronomy, what's your favorite subject?" Victoria asked curiously.
Victoria listened to Lily as they worked on their match.
Victoria was really happy to partner with Lily. She had longed to be friends with Lily after the snowball fight. With this lesson, hope was born in Victoria.
"What do you like doing?" Victoria turned to Lily and asked. While waiting for an answer, Victoria looked around, most of them still running. Victoria smiled happily and looked at Lily.
"Hey Lily, are you happy to be in Ravenclaw?" Victoria asked curiously. She had always loved hearing people's opinions on buildings. She liked to compare people's opinions to her own.
As Victoria listened to Lily's reply, she rolled up her sleeves slightly and focused on her work.
Victoria tried to find questions to continue the conversation with Lily. Meanwhile, there was a brief but pleasant silence between the two girls. Victoria hoped Lily would continue the conversation as she untangled her rather messy hair and tied it back up. It was nice talking to Lily.

Victoria smiled at Lily and said: "I'm so glad to partner with you too! And herbology might really be Hogwarts' best subject!" which made the Ravenclaw feel really good about this partnership.
"I love plants, stars and the moon. So my favorite subjects are Herbology and Astronomy, what's yours?" Victoria asked and Lily thought carefully before answering: "It's so hard to choose... I love Astronomy too, and Potions as well... but my favorite has to be Charms!" Then her partner asked her what she liked to do in her free time and if she was glad to be in the house Ravenclaw. Lily answered enthusiastically: "My favorite hobby is reading. I also love painting, even though i'm not the best at it, and calligraphy! I have tons of sketchbooks, notebooks and journals in my dorm." Then she stopped, thinking about how much she liked her house: "I love being a Ravenclaw", she said, "I always thought I was a bit quirky, but when I got here I instantly felt like I belonged, you know what I mean?"
Victoria was listening to her careful while working on their assignment, her sleeves rolled up slightly. Lily paused after talking and pushed aside one of her braids with a wave of her hand to keep her face clear. Her new friend was clearly good at Herbology and Lily was impressed. They worked in silence for a while until she asked:
“Did you go home for Christmas? I did, and it was really nice to see my family. I have so much to do here that I don't have much time to miss them, but it's still weird not seeing them every day. What about you?”
