Simon loved birthday parties. Who wouldn't love a time where everyone gives you presents and eats cake while being the center of attention? Also, they didn't really have them that often due to their mom being busy 24/7, but now they could host one not only this year, but every year if they wanted!
So he had worked hard to make it look nice- The Great Hall was decorated with lavender ribbons and light yellow balloons, all set up by Simon themselves (with the help of some professors, of course.) The tablecloth was white with yellow flowers and draped over all of the tables in the Great Hall, all decorated with white plates except the Ravenclaw table, which was where the presents would reside- which, if they got the memo, would hopefully be wrapped in lavender or yellow.. or at least a pastel color that wasn't green.
As for Simon, they was wearing their best outfit- a bright yellow tux with a white ribbon around the hat and a purple flower attached to the ribbon. They looked nice, like usual, but they wondered if anyone else would come dressed the same.
And now, the best part- the cakes over at the Slytherin table- one with swirly patterns of yellow and purple that looked like roses. It covered every inch of the cake. It looked like a flower garden.
The other one was actually piled with flowers- fake flowers, that was. It was nice-looking but kind of overwhelming visually and probably in terms of consumption too, so that was an issue.
They did attempt to take off the flowers and make it look nice, but it was still crowded.
As people entered, they would hand them a purple flower."Hi! Welcome. Cake's at the Slytherin table, put presents on the Hufflepuff table. Enjoy!" And if they were lucky and looked good, Simon would pay them a compliment. Who knows?
The students would put their present on the table and eat cake first, because when Simon went to birthday parties the host always did the presents first. Simon wouldn't do that because unlike them, they were not a greedy brat.
Then after that, they had hung a piñata for each of them to try and hit that was filled with Muggle candy. They weren't sure if this was something that happened a lot during wizard birthday parties, or if they even happened at all. But they thought it would be fun to add.
Now it was perfect, and the only thing that could ruin this is if people went crazy and decided to crash his party, but they wouldn't. Simon would make sure of that.

Happy Birthday Simon!
Clair had been ready for the party all day, she had but on a black shirt and a white shirt, one that showed her belly button, (not something she was in love with, but it was the style) she had braided her hair over her head, to make a 'crown' of sorts. And then she had put on a pair of shoes that pulled the outfit together, and also had put on the necklace, one that had been her Mum's and her Mum's Mums, and so on for as long a Clair could count -which was a lot- when Simon said 'Hi! Clair paused, Presents? Oops she had forgotten about that, she smiled and nodded to him
"will do!" Thinking quickly she tried to think of what to do, well she could not leave and get something from her dorm, no that would be obvious, obvious that she had forgotten about his birthday present, And what kind of impression would that leave? Not a good one anyway.
The girl looked around, she had to give him something, so she took the necklace from her neck, and wrapped the chain around the charm, this would be her gift, a family heirloom that could be part of Simon's family, pulling out a paper and ball point pen from a small bag she had worn, under her skirt, Un-seen by anyone unless they lifted her skirt, which would result in them getting a good old fashion punch, the little bag held thee things, her wand, paper and a ball point Pen,
She leaned on the table and wrote a small note,
Happy Birthday Simon!
This is a necklace that has been in my family for many years, i hope you enjoy it, keep it in your family too.

[font=century gothic]Cody was so excited for once. More excited than he claimed to be before, and so he woke up singing as loudly as he could, even as he knew he was horrible at singing. He was singing a fragment of the song Friends Will Be Friends by Queen.
"It's not easy love, but you've got friends you can trust. Friends will be friends. When you're in need of love they give you care and attention. Friends will be friends"
He was wearing a outfit coordinated by members of the elite BOOM. A white longsleeve shirt pulled up to his elbows, his dark blue, almost black, jeans were rolled up very slightly as his black shoes were put on, clearly without socks. If Cody had a blister, he wasn't going to blame himself.
His eyes twinkled as he brushed his hair over to the right. He was inspired to do so, if not make it look like Dicaprio's hair from Titanic, the first water related movie Cody watched, and have grown to love.
But as he headed down to the Great Hall, unsure of why he was there, he saw a cleaner version of what it previously was, set for a party. Cody assumed it belonged to one of the other two kids out in the Great Hall already. So, he walked down there, acting cool, when he knew that if he tried anything today, he probably would lose a friend, and that would probably happen. But maybe @Emily R. Brewer's attempt of stopping his chaos would heed the issues Cody had. Not to mention in his right pocket, he had his lucky Galleon, his gift to @Simon Corbin, someone who was wearing a tux, a gift for him was quickly rushed off to the table by Cody himself, his own House table, now taken over for Presents, and Cody laid his Necklace down for them to open. Carrying a gift box with the tag addressed to Simon on it, Lizzy walked into the Great Hall with a bright smile. It was Simon's birthday party, which she had agreed to attend a few weeks prior. She had put on a light blue dress for the party, a stretch for the Gryffindor. Wearing dresses for her were only a thing for important occasions, so it was saying a lot to be wearing this today.
"Happy Birthday Simon!" she greeted. The Hall had been decorated spectacularly in her opinion. The lavender ribbons contrasted the yellow of the balloons nicely. This was the first birthday party Lizzy had attended at Hogwarts and with the knowledge of the wizarding community, so it was nice for her to see that not much was different from a muggle party.
Walking over to the Hufflepuff table, Lizzy set the gift box down. Inside, it contained a set of assorted art supplies, as she had gathered they liked drawing from a prior meeting. She hoped Simon would like the gift.
Seeing Cody across the room, Lizzy wasn't sure whether to ignore him or go start a conversation. That boy was irritating and confusing all rolled into one. Instead she walked over to Clair. "Hi Clair," she said with a smile.

Kassandra enters the boy’s party. She never had a birthday party or had been to one. She was wearing a brown top she absolutely loved and a white skirt. Hanging over her shoulder was a black bag. She didn’t wear skirts because she is always cold, but it’s a party! No blue or black, her favorite colours, just lavender ribbons and yellow balloons. 3 people were at the party, not counting the one and only birthday boy. She saw from the gifts on the table dedicated to him that his name was Simon. Every time she thinks of the name Simon, she thinks of a boy with glasses who also has buck teeth, but what did she know? She had never met someone named Simon. She had seen the invite a few days prior, and decided to sacrifice a fake gold chain bracelet she had. She took out her birthday note which said -
Happy Birthday Simon! I don’t know who you are yet but I got you a gold bracelet! It’s fake by the way.

Maybe she didn’t need to include how real it was. But she didn’t want to seem like she was flexing too hard. She put her gift on the Hufflepuff table and waited for the fun to begin.

Winter received the invitation from her friend Simon about a week before the day of the party, she made sure to find out his likes and dislikes before sending out an owl to her aunt of things she wanted to get for her first-year friend. In no time the presents arrived, just in time in fact. It was Finally the day and she had gotten somewhat well dressed whilst still wearing something comfortable. Today was going to be a good day, she was dedicated to keeping it that way!

Picking up a bright yellow gift bag that had a tag with a to and from hanging to the side. She began to make her way to the great hall, hoping to make it there early. If she was being truthful the only birthday parties she had been to were her friend Xeno's and her own family members, even she would miss out on a birthday party most years due to her aunt's constant busy schedule. She shook away the thought, it wasn't about her, on this day It was all about Simon! She picked up the pace and eventually reached the entrance.
Upon heading into the large, wonderfully decorated room winter had noticed a few people which she had already met, and others that were completely new to her. She took a deep breath before greeting them "H-hi Simon! Happy birthday!" a small smile showed on her face as she set her present down along with all the others at the Ravenclaw table. Once setting it in a good spot she returned to Simon "normally I wouldn't wear things like this but I figured id come well dressed, as i see you have as well!" she grinned, brushing off her pale yellow dress. She was sure by the way the invitation was decorated those were the colors and theme and so she dressed accordingly.
"Did you decorate this yourself..? It all looks quite wonderful" a soft smile pulled at her lips and it stayed that way as she scanned the room. All was going well, her friend had planned this very well and she was sure all that would show were enjoying it just as much as her. Winter decided not to eat cake nor do much except sit around, watching the others have fun. She wasn't one to get involved with large crowds and so she made it a point to sit a ways back when people were smacking around what seemed like a hanging paper shape. She had never seen such a thing but from what she could hear, people were calling it a 'pinata' the word was odd to her but still interesting!

As he and the kids around him grew up, Marius got less and less invitation to birthday parties. Some people opted for birthday celebrations instead, like inviting their friends for dinner at restaurants, and others chose not to celebrate it in any special way (or at least, they did not invite others for fun).
Either way, recently one of his classmates, Simon Corbin, had invited him for a birthday party. To be honest, Marius was not sure why he was invited. Simon and he were not that close, even though they often sat together at class, the two had never exchanged private conversations about, for instance, their family. So far, their talks were limited to the topics of classes and assignments.
Because of this, the English boy could not pick a present that might be considered personally interesting for his classmate. The only thing he could think about was something useful, and at the end he got them a new quill and a bottle of nice blue ink.
As for clothes, Marius did not know how formal Simon would like their party to be, so to play safe he dressed himself in suit and tie.
Simon handed him - and everyone else - a purple flower each, and the Hufflepuff awkwardly put it inside his pocket. What's this for? he wondered. He hoped they wouldn't be asked to tango. Putting his present on the table the Gryffindor directed the guests to, Marius tried not to look awkward. If someone would have cake or drink, he would, that way he would look at least as if he was enjoying himself.

Happy Birthday Simon!
Rose wasn't big on birthdays. Sure, she liked getting gifts, but she never liked that she didn't have many friends to share the occasion with. She had decided that she wouldn't let that happen to anyone else, so she has made an effort to attend as many birthday parties as possible.
And boy, it is exhausting.
She barely made it on time, and was more than gasping. It was like she was inhaling the air as fast as she could. As she took a look around the room, she saw everyone dressed very formally. Wearing a t-shirt and skinny jeans, she felt quite underdressed. She didn't have much in the way of formal wear, and her only few dresses were dirty (A story for another time).
"I, uh, sorry, gimme a sec," she gasped, bent over with her hands on her knees. She stayed like this for about half a second, before rising up. "I'm Roseann, and I'm here for a birthday party. Where should I put the presents?"
Rose didn't have much money, and she didn't really know what to get someone for their birthday. So, she bought a cheeky curler, not knowing what it was. This should be good.

After Victoria finished wrapping Simon's birthday presents, she went into the great hall. Her eyes widened in surprise as Victoria entered. The ribbons and balloons were lovely, the tablecloths matched the great hall . Victoria smiled.
She put the purple gift box in her hand on the Ravenclaw table, she thought Simon would like the purple color. Victoria had bought Simon a Wizard's chess set. She thought Simon would like it.
Victoria's eyes lit up when she saw the pinata. She approached Simon. "Simon! Happy Birthday!" She said with a beautiful smile. "Can I hit the pinata after you?" She asked curiously, She had always liked to hit the pinata.
"Simon, did you decorate this place? I think you really have good taste." Victoria muttered as she looked around.
Victoria looked around. She had many people she knew. She greeted Clair first. "Hi, Clair! You look beautiful today, plus. To whom do we owe this?" Victoria grinned. Since Victoria wasn't too close to Cody, she just waved. They had spoken to Lizzy once in the library, but Victoria just smiled anyway. "Hello Lizzy!"
She wasn't too close to Kassandra, but she still smiled. "Hello Cassandra!" His smile widened when he saw Victoria Winter. "Hi Winter, you look beautiful today!" Victoria shrugged when she saw a Gryffindor man she had never talked to before, and sat down at the Ravenclaw table when she saw a Gryffindor girl she had never met.
I just want to be myself.

The first person to arrive was someone who made their heart flutter- Clair Fernandez. They had met her in the corridors and she seemed to make them lose the ability to speak "oh, hi! You look really pretty. Presents go to the Hufflepuff table, thank you!" Simon handed her a flower.
Simon watched the girl put her present on the table. Gosh, she was pretty. They tore their eyes away from Clair and went to greet the next guest- a tiny boy Simon recognized as Cody Stevenson. He was dressed nicely and was holding a present. He was also so small. Simon had heard of him but did not expect them to be so small. "Welcome! Thank you for coming, Help yourself to cake after putting your present over there." They pointed at the Hufflepuff table and gave him a flower.
Next person to arrive was Lizzy Solace. Simon had grown a slight attachment to them after meeting her for the first time and was more than pleased to see her here. She was wearing the most beautiful blue dress and looked very pretty. "You look very nice, Liz!" and gave her the party favor and a hug (if she accepted it). "Thanks!"
The next person to enter was a brown-haired girl Simon barely knew. She was wearing a vintage outfit that matched her but clashed with all the decor he put up. Ah well. Not really a big deal anyhow. Still, Simon gave her a white flower so as to not make it clash anymore than it already was. "Welcome! Thanks for coming."
The next person to enter was the one and only Winter Wolfhartz, who they had met previously in the courtyard. They gave her a flower (yellow) and thanked her for coming.
"Well, you look great! I did set this up by myself, mostly. Glad you think it looks nice!” They watched her put her presents on the table before the next person arrived- a timid Hufflepuff boy. They didn't know who he was but welcomed him anyway and gave him a favor (yellow color flower) and questioned why he didn't eat a slice. "It's not poisoned, I swear." they assured the young Hufflepuff.
The last two people to enter were a girl who had not bothered to dress up, which was rude, Simon did not give her a flower- and Vicky, who Simon gave a purple flower.
"Uh, put em over at the Hufflepuff table," they told the poorly dressed girl. "And help yourself to the cake if you like."
"Simon, did you decorate this place? I think you really have good taste."
Simon smiled at the comment. 'Thanks, Vicky! Yeah, I did," they said proudly. "Feel free to hit the piñata after me." They went to the table and served the people there some cake. "Thanks for coming! You all are so kind. After cake, we'll take turns hitting the piñata, and then presents, because that is the proper order. Eat up!" And with that, Simon served themselves a slice and began to eat.
