Outfit: Uniform Failure. She was a failure.
When she had gotten that homework back, and that big 'A' was scrawled in black ink, her world collapsed. An A was still an acceptable, but acceptable wasn't good enough, was it? Not for her. She doesn't understand, she has never gotten anything below an O grade before. How could she have done so bad? It was a simple homework, at least, she thought it was a simple homework. She thought she had aced it. That all came crashing down this morning. Logically, she knows this grade doesn't matter. It wasn't an exam, it wasn't her O.W.Ls, she's only a first year, this grade will mean nothing in a couple of years. But that part of her brain insistent on being perfect in everything that she does just can't stop repeating the fact that she is a failure and she will never be good enough.
She's not sure whether she wants to scream. Or cry. Or both. Her fingers tightened around the book she was clutching close to her chest. She was only half aware that she was in the middle of a packed corridor, students heading to wherever they need to go after a long day of classes, but she still kept her head down and focused on her feet. Adelaide was usually very confident, she prided herself on being confident, but all that starts to feel like a facade to mask how she actually feels about herself when she starts to feel like she'll never be enough.
The blonde was forced out of her thoughts when she feels someone roughly bump into her shoulder. Or maybe she bumped into them, she couldn't quite tell. But this was the final straw. "Would you watch where you're going?!" She seethed, whirling around to find whoever bumped into her. "Are you blind or could you not tell someone was in front of you?"OOC permission granted to say Kage bumped into Adelaide.

Never Good Enough

Way too much homework. Suzuki reminisced the good old days of being a first year with not as much homework. There was homework, of course, but not that much. And this year he had pulled a stupid move and signed up for all of the classes. He had overestimated his ability to manage time and get things done.
Suzuki was on a roll.
He slogged down the hallway, eyes barely open, a fat book in one hand, a big black case containing all his homework in the other. Of course something went wrong, despite the fact he wasn't reading while walking this time. Maybe he should've kept his eyes open, because he walked into someone.
Just a shoulder bump, but the girl, a pissed looking blonde clutching a book to her chest, damn near exploded.
"Would you watch where you're going?! Are you blind or could you not tell someone was in front of you?"
Suzuki restrained himself from squinting. " Well... I could use a pair of glasses, to be honest. You seem fine. Not that big of a deal, no?" Probably not the best retort, this girl didn't seem in the mood for this. Whatever, he thought. Suzuki didn't really have the time for this. He could see the pile of homework in his case, the second pile sitting on his desk.

Outfit: Uniform Not even an apology. It was obvious that the boy who had bumped into her did not care, like, at all. Any other day Adelaide would have brushed it off and continued on with her day, but luckily for him, he had caught her when she wanted to hex every person in sight. "The least you could is apologize. You do know how to do that right? I may seem fine, but it is common courtesy to apologize after you bump into someone." The boy was a lot taller than she was, so even as she straightened up to her full height and narrowed her eyes at him, she had to admit that it probably looked a bit pathetic in his eyes.
"Believe it or not, some of us are having a bad day. So something that's 'not a big deal' to you, could quite frankly be the final straw for someone else. Now, to put it simply, I am about one second away from screaming, so please, for the love of Merlin, a simply apology is all I ask for." She honestly didn't know why she was spewing all of her thoughts to this random boy in the middle of a corridor and as frustrated tears welled up in her eyes, she rapidly blinked them away. No, she was not about to cry in the middle of a corridor. Especially not in front of someone she has only known for 5 minutes.

Maybe he should've apologized, because if he thought what the girl was mad earlier, he was wrong. After all, Suzuki really didn't have the energy for this. He only did what he had to do and what he had to do, he did quickly.
He sighed. " Technically we don't know who bumped into who, so it could be your fault too. And everybody has bad days, so it really doesn't matter, does it?"
Suzuki watched on with lazy eyes. What he really wanted to do was push this random girl away and go finish his homework before the day ended and he was the only one awake in the dorm.
The girl really looked like about she was going to explode, and oh- he didn't know, stuff Suzuki into one of those cases of armour littering the corridors. Which wouldn't be very nice, considering those things were probably enchanted and wouldn't be very happy if a person ended up in them.
Her eyes were shining in the dim light, probably from tears. The last thing he wanted was to have her cry and be responsible for it. " Okay okay sorry. Don't cry. You okay?"

Outfit: Uniform "I'm pretty sure you were the one to bump into me, actually," She actually wasn't sure the boy had bumped into her. For all she knew, she could've been the one to bump into him, she wasn't looking around her so it was very plausible. But her day was already going terrible and as horrible as it sounded, she just really wanted someone to blame for something. "So pay more attention to your surroundings next time, won't you?"
She scoffed, hastily wiping her eyes with the sleeve of her robe, "I was not crying. I don't cry, I'm not a baby." She definitely did plan on going back to her dorm, finding Nina and cuddling her while she cried for the rest of the day. He definitely didn't need to know that though. "But, yes, I am just perfect! Life is great! Today is amazing! The sun is shining, the birds are chirping, I could not be better!" She said, sarcasm laced in her tone and a bright, false smile plastered on her face.
"Okay, sorry," She dropped the act quickly, "No. I'm not good. I'm actually doing pretty terrible. Got a bad mark back on a homework I thought I had aced so, not really feeling the best today. Kind of feel like a failure, you know?" Honestly, she had no clue why she was venting to a random boy in a random corridor. Maybe it was because she was just tired and fed up today, or maybe she saw an opportunity for someone to listen to her and jumped at it the first chance she got. Maybe she should pick up journaling, instead of keeping all her feelings bottled up and stashed away to the furthest parts of her mind until one day they, inevitably, come pouring out. Today seemed to be that day.

"I'm pretty sure you were the one to bump into me, actually." The girl said, sounding extra pissed off. Suzuki just shrugged. With his luck, she was probably right, but in a circumstance like this he would never admit it.
"I was not crying. I don't cry, I'm not a baby." She wiped her eyes with her sleeve, and he inwardly rolled his eyes. Sure, Suzuki thought. You weren't crying, and I'm a Peruvian Vipertooth.
He listened to her vent about her homework, and his mind wandered to his own homework. He wasn't doing so great either, but grades weren't everything to him. Just as long he had an A, he was fine.
" It's just one grade. It's not that big of a deal. Just learn what you did wrong and fix it next time. Everyone gets bad grades. You're fine. Just because you got one bad grades doesn't mean anything."
Part of him couldn't believe that this was the only reason she was pissed off like heck. Just a little think. Such a little thing. To him, at least. Suzuki's eyes found the Ravenclaw emblem on her robes. Was this how all Ravenclaws acted when they got a bad grade?

Outfit: Uniform She didn't know what she was expecting. Why did she think that a random stranger was going to understand? Honestly, out of everyone, a person you have known for all of 10 minutes is not going to want to listen to you vent about your problems. She scoffed, "It is not just 'one grade'. It is the first piece of homework that I've ever got below an O in. Just because it 'isn't a big deal' to you, doesn't mean it's not a big deal to me. It's a pretty big deal for me, grades mean... a lot to me." A lot was definitely an understatement, but she wasn't about to tell him that all her self worth was based on how good or bad she was at, well, everything.
She noticed his eyes drift to the Ravenclaw emblem on her robes, and she rolled her eyes. If she was a Legilimens, she wouldn't be the least bit surprised if he was busy making stereotypes about every Ravenclaw just because of her reaction to a bad grade. Stereotypes are the worst. Adelaide highly disliked stereotypes, and also people who believed them.
She sighed, "I should probably just leave you alone. It's not like you understand, and you definitely don't want to listen to me vent about a bad grade. It's obvious you don't care." Even after saying this, the blonde didn't move. She stayed rooted to the spot, half of her hoping that maybe he'll change his mind and listen to her and the other half just curious to hear what he would say.
