Fall Ball

Action: asking everyone to leave, trying to avoid Eun-ji's spellcasting because of his pride (but in a not-very-obvious manner)
Interactions: @Eun-ji Lee Hunt
Mentions: @Kelsey Brumby, everyone at the area
Open for further interaction
Many of the people in that area had wisely decided to retreat, although unfortunately Nigel did not know whether they were heading to the Hospital Wing as he had advised earlier or somewhere else. He just hoped that at least all of the injured would head, or were taken, to the Hospital Wing to have their wound treated. Physically uninjured pupils may head to their dorm (or anywhere they slept during their stay at Hogwarts), or anywhere safe either way.
A number of the others, however, were still lingering. Even though most of them were helping the wounded, the young American professor quite disagreed with their choice of action. He remembered reading somewhere that the first and foremost principal of saving others was making sure oneself would not be the next victim. In this case, it would mean everyone had better leave the area.
Once again, the Astronomy teacher raised his voice and addressed the students who were still around, "Please head to the Hospital Wing! Help each other to reach there, and once you get there, you can assist Nurse Brumby to tend the wounded! Please do leave right now, this area isn't safe anymore!"
It turned out that instead of listening to him and following his instruction, at least one pupil decided to stay and tend his wound. "Miss Hunt, please help the injured kids in the Hospital Wing," he said calmly but sternly, trying to avoiding her spell in a not-very-obvious manner. He did not want to embarrass her, but on the other hand he did not want to look as if he was in a prime condition while some students were still hurt. He had to be the last one to leave and be cured. In attempt to avoid her Ferula, Nigel turned his body around elsewhere, without even really looking where he was heading to - be it empty air or perhaps a table or pole.

Arora tried to kill Mathias *again*. By the grace of Merlin, he would not aspirate any dittany on this day. As Winnie should know by now, Mathias was a peach -- a very bruisable peach with an obviously perfect ass if one witnessed Cain's illustration.
Winnie had overcome her fear of storms it would appear, and Mathias had an unfortunate interaction with gravity that would land him back in the hospital wing at Hogwarts. At least this time he did not deserve the ass kicking (probably). Winnie would suffer yet more trauma, he seemed to have a thing for fragile men like Levi and Pride. While some girls swoon over burly, tall men or older men, she seemed to prefer the type that she can dominate. Even girly men deserve love or a burly woman to defend their honor.
Mathias would be dragged off to wherever Winnie carries him. Concussed, not dying. His injuries entirely mundane, caused by a fall and the unfortunate effect of gravity coupled with an unyielding ground. It would be an elementary task to heal him in the infirmary. If later asked how he got his injury he would simply say 'nobody beat me up this time.' The boy had a wealth of enemies, Warren had nearly killed him during their only altercation. It was of course worth it even if the magnitude of his injuries suffered on that day were unexpected. It was essentially the Capulete phenomenon, this psychological imperative to desire what one cannot have, what others have taken from them and what others actively attempt to withhold. It assured his place in Winnie's heart for when the red flags start to emerge.

With the clock striking Midnight, this is the final mod post for the 2021 Fall Ball. Thank you so much for participating, and you are more than welcome to continue to roll for your own actions. It has been an absolute blast putting on this very peaceful and fun festival for you all.
Everything relatively safe now, people would start to leave. Henry would head off to the festival and Samantha would leave. It was growing darker, the rain still pelting down, but at least the dangers were over and most had been healed or were going off to seek better medical attention. Eun-ji decided to try and help some more people recover with the bandaging charm, including the professor of astronomy. It was clear that this was not what had been expected, but he was unable to discreetly move out of the way. Unfortunately, he would have to deal with being bandaged up and no longer bleeding. Tragic :pThe clock struck midnight and so a new day would technically begin. The mess on the quidditch pitch would surely be something the committee would have to deal with. The storm clouds were making their grand escape, still raining, yet flashes of lightning and echoes of thunder further now. The poles and glass still littered the ground, but everything would hopefully be a little calmer now.
WDC 11

Eun-ji bandaged Nigel Read. He is no longer bleeding. And he didn't run into anything.
Henry and Samantha left.

#274782 Blue in English, #a62b2b Red in KoreanFor the third time that evening, Eun-ji was casting ferula on somebody. So far, all her attempts ended up successful but she would be lying if she said she wasn’t most nervous about this one. After all, Nigel was a professor and he didn’t look too keen on being healed by her. That little detail did not stop her from casting the spell however. For a moment, she worried. Her target moved unexpectedly, making the chances of her missing so much bigger. Surely, he didn’t do that on purpose though. Why would he? No, the Ravenclaw refused to believe the man would be that childish. Thankfully, despite all this, even this attempt ended up being successful. Perhaps her mother wasn’t wrong. Did she really have a talent for healing spells? Not something she should ponder about now. “I hope that helps. I will be going now.” The witch nodded at the professor. That is what she promised him to do and to be honest she didn’t see any reason to linger any longer. All wounded people had been taken care of and the rest could move inside just fine.
With her work done, the adrenaline slowly started leaving her body and the exhaustion hit her like a ton of bricks. The cold also came with vengeance. Up until this point, Eun-ji was too focused on her task and wasn’t really aware of her own state but now it all came back to haunt her. She wanted nothing more than to get inside and find a warm spot by the fireplace. Unfortunately, that was just a wish not a plan. The plan was to stop by the hospital wing first. She searched but couldn’t find Ye-jun or Lucia anywhere. This meant Ye-jun probably took the girl away. She knew her cousin was not hurt but she didn’t have any update on his date. I’ll just check and if they are not there, I’ll go to sleep. The witch promised herself. Another big concern was her own date. She hadn’t seen him since they dropped the tent. Aaron wasn’t hurt either but she still didn’t feel comfortable going away without even making sure he managed to leave the area safely.
It was hard to focus on anything at that point but luckily, her friend’s white suit was sticking out like a sore thumb. “Aaron!” She called out to the boy. It sounded weaker than intended but she was close enough for him to hear. All in all, it was not a great situation but she was still glad to see him. “You are okay.” She said with a soft smile. “It’s freezing. We should head back. Any bleeding students have been taken care of and the rest is slowly picking themselves up. I don’t think there is anything else we can do.” Eun-ji felt bad. She really wanted him to have fun tonight. Why did it have to end up in yet another catastrophe? Nothing seemed to be going well for her recently. Did she really ask too much when she just wanted to have one pleasant evening with her friend? I must have betrayed my country in my previous life or something…

Fall Ball

Unable to locate the exact source of the screams for help, Aaron felt a little panicked about what to do next. There were a lot of injured kids, faces he recognized through the rain, but not any one person looked worse off than another. They all seemed to be rallying well enough on their own. That one scream had concerned him but it had stopped, so maybe someone else had been able to help.Regular Text - English | Bolded Text - Korean

Aaron turned his attention to himself at that point, realizing he was shivering. He really hated being wet. The cold he was used to and could deal with just fine, particularly when he was well prepared with warm clothes and such, but he had never been a fan of the rain. Right now all he had was his suit jacket to protect him from the elements - in other words, he was completely soaked (like so many others). He decided to try and cast another spell, and although it took a second try, the invisible umbrella did eventually spring up from his wand. It granted him a slight reprieve from the onslaught of water, but he continued to shiver as his brown eyes cast over the area.
His head turned when he heard his name being called, and he felt intense relief when he noticed Eun-ji was nearby. He quickly caught up with her and nodded at her observation. "Alright, let's get out of here," Aaron said, offering a small smile in an attempt to keep spirits up. He knew this was not the ending to the evening that either of them had expected, but he was just glad they had both been safe and got through it. The "umbrella" he had conjured was large enough for the two of them, and he held it between them so they were both covered. It didn't do much, but it was nice not to have water constantly raining on their face. They headed back to the castle together in a companionable quiet only broken by the thunderstorm around them.
TL;DR: Worrying about ways to help, casting the umbrella charm, reconnecting with Eun-ji, and heading back to the castle

Fall Ball
Help will always be given at Hogwarts to those who ask for it/deserve it. They were words a former headmaster had once said decades ago, although Simon wouldn't know of that. Still, the statement was as true today as it was then. Students and staffmembers began filling in tot he Quidditch Pitch, taking swift action. Some worked on getting others to the Hospital Wing while others more skilled at protective and healing spells were able to do so on the spot.
The tent was raised and holes were cut and soon students were being granted their freedom from all the horrors that surrounded them. Samantha Salwis had come to his rescue, as had Eun-ji Lee Hunt and Henry Knight. And then there was Haley Rose who never left his side.
He had been helped and he had been healed and while he wanted to stay to help others, he was instructed to get checked up at the Hospital Wing just to be sure. The lantern that hit his head had caused some slight issues with confusion and dizziness so it had to be checked that he didn't have a concussion.
Oh the joys of a Hogwarts event. Simon thanked those that helped him and hoped they knew how grateful he truly was. He hoped that the others could be helped as well and that everyone who had attended that night could safely be back at their dorms that evening.

Rose felt a little helpless as she wasn't able to yank the dittany out of the guy's mouth. Her face flushed, and she watched as they quickly took him towards the Hospital Wing. A good choice on their part. She couldn't believe she had been so useless. She was supposed to be able to help. Her heart sank a little, and she stood up, watching them go.
This Ball had started out okay, then as she met Maxi and started talking to him, it had gone really well, but it had quickly taken a turn for the worse. Rose had been hoping that this ball would be different, and though it was luckily Beckett-free, everything had still gone horribly. She gritted her teeth, brushing her dress off from the grass that had clung to it when she had knelt down to help the unconscious boy. Rose wrapped her arms around herself, feeling very cold.
Henry signed to her that he was going to the Hospital Wing, and Rose nodded at him. Her stomach twisted a little bit as he started to jog away, and she started walking towards the castle, the rain battering down on her back. Not one of these Balls ever brought something good. Why did the staff even keep trying?
