The rehearsal room was one of the best places for Rosie to practice.

With her being at Hogwarts all year, she couldn't exactly... Go to ballet class. As much as she could, the girl practiced the routines she knew so she could keep up with the class come June. Usually, the rehearsal room was occupied in some way, but lucky for Rosie, today it wasn't! The girl walked in, tying her curly hair into a ponytail and lifting her pointe shoes, heading to the wall. She sat down and started taking off her sneakers to replace them with her shoes, humming lightly.

As she did, she was trying to decide which routine she'd go through. With the temporary solitude in the rehearsal room, she could do a few if she wanted. Though it'd be kind of awkward if someone walked in on her dancing, if she got distracted in the middle of a spin, she would definitely fall. It wouldn't be their fault, obviously, but it would still be quite unfortunate. Regardless, she had to start with something. Rosie got her shoes on and stretched her legs forward, making sure she finished those before she went to dance. Leg cramps were not fun.

Finishing her stretches, the fifth year rose to her feet! Rosie walked towards the middle of the room, humming lightly as she tried to get ready. With no music, she'd have to imagine the whole way through. Which was fine, but it'd make her timing a bit weird. At the very least, she relied on some sort of clicking. Alas, the girl had to rely on her small, yet creative brain for the music. She tapped her foot lightly, humming the beginning of the song before she took off across the wooden floor.

When she wanted to be dramatic, she simply imagined there was an audience. The silence was simply... Them watching! The completely empty room was a bit creepy, so it was just easier imagining there was a crowd. Plus, it helped her get serious. She danced like she was actually at a performance, and it made sure she was never slacking off. So, with the peace and quiet, Rosie danced around the vast room, dancing to the rhythm she hoped she was hitting.

Quinn was...sick of many things. His parents, his weakness, his condition, what he was. He was sick of it all. Sick of the heartache, the pain, the betrayal...everything. All this anger and all this sadness and for what? Something he couldnt damn well control? Something he never asked for or had any say in. Why should he have to suffer for the mistakes of his mother.

If they weren't going to love him and no average person was going to give him his fair shake. Then screw them all he would prove everyone wrong! He'd prove his parents wrong, he'd prove his bullies wrong, and he'd sure as heck prove himself and his personalities wrong.

Frowning as he walked, stuck in his own thoughts. He was cradling Irene who laid perched in his arms like it was throne.Ever since the start of the year and the last 2 years really she had been very slow to trust Quinn again. But through a lot of patience and hard work he regained her trust and more then that her companionship. Thinking back on it he was really lucky to have found her, to have found Nico, to have found the few good friends he had.

He wanted to give back to them in some way and also make many more moving forward. He was a fifth year and a prefect for the last few years. It was time he started putting himself truly out there. He was a captain too!! Smirking he stopped and looked around blinking. Irene simply pawed at his arm and looked up expectantly. "...You're so silly. I can take the hint." Laughing softly, he stroked her head with one of his massive digits. Looking around he had been wondering in thought and ended up near the...rehearsal room??

He noticed the door was cracked open, so being his overly curious self he quite literally popped his head in. The scene before him was an interesting one. First off it was someone he hadn't seen in far too long and second well...if his suddenly quick beating heart was any indication then yeah he still had clear feelings or something towards the currently moving and dancing Rosie Parker. Her movements were clearly practiced and if you asked Quinn utterly amazing. He found himself staring and watching probably tar longer then he should have without announcing his presence but...he just couldn't help it.

That was until a noticeable meow and paws on his face snapped him out of it. He felt the annoyed nips of his sweet Irene pulling at his facial hair. He looked down blinking and blushed sheepishly. He stepped in unsure of how to introduce himself. So he said screw it once again and in a deep almost bellowing base tone he spoke. "H-Hey there R-R-Rosie...um longtime no... see?" He laughed uncomfortably. The massive 9 foot 7 inch lad waving about as awkwardly as a teen going through puberty and confused about everything could. Thankfully his accent was understandable today and his beard was well kept and short this time. His curls getting managed by being put into a messy man bun. But he somehow seemed to have even more freckles now as well as clearly having filled out rather nicely. Being rather broad and built instead of tall and lanky with log like arms.

Rosie didn't even hear Quinn come in.

When he entered, and then spoke a second after, Rosie turned around and her eyes nearly popped out of her head. When did Quinn grow another three feet? She found it hard to contain her shock, but it was quickly replaced by joy. She hadn't seen one of her best friends in so long! A while ago, he would've been her crush too, but the feelings passed over the summer. It wasn't because she lost interest in Quinn, it was just the romantic interests that left. He was dating Nico anyway, and Rosie was not messy! Were they dating? Something was happening between them! Regardless, Rosie would be an amazing wingman.

She grinned and ran forward. "Hi Quinn! I haven't seen you in ages!" Rosie called happily, coming over to hug him. She saw Irene and smiled. "Hey, bud. Are we still friends?" She offered her hand to to the cat, smiling warmly. She was overjoyed, really! Rosie had been slow to finding her friends in the beginning of the year. Though Quinn wasn't too hard to find due to his height, Rosie had been too busy to actually go out and talk to him. "I'm sorry, I should've come find you when I got back to school. I've just been preoccupied." She hopped lightly, grinning up at the half-giant.

"Y-Y-Y-Yeah well it's okay Ro...honest I've been busy too...maybe too busy." He laughed uncomfortably rubbing the back of his neck. Gods he was so nervous. He smiled softly settling on that, "I um...liked your dancing Ro...you've improved a lot." Smooth quinn...real smooth.

Irene oblivious of her owner's nervousness stared at Rosie critically cocking her head. She sniffed it curiously and then licked one of her fingers. She stared at Rosie once again and then brought her head to Rosie's hand rubbing her head against the hand. Seemed Rosie earned Irene's stamp of approval for now.

Quinn noticed this and smiled warmly then to Rosie. "So um...what have you been up to? You look...you look good..." He laughed uncomfortably again. letting the awkwardness kind of take control for now. He internally sighed and knelt down so she could look up easier. He looked down at Rosie and honestly wondered why they hadn't talked more often he remembered the earlier years. Hell Rosie was the sole reason he got into Quidditch and now he was the captain of the team.

How time flew and how things changed for both the better and the worst. But that was besides the point it was time to catch up.

The Hufflepuff was not entirely sure on why Quinn seemed so nervous, but she was too distracted by the fact that she was happy her friend was still around. "It happens as we get older, I guess." Rosie mused, grinning. Some of her fellow fifth years were already hard at work studying for the OWL exams. Which was understandable, but studying was incredibly boring. Hence why Rosie was found here, she had been waiting for an opportunity like this for ages. Granted, it was interrupted by Quinn, but this was the best interruption she could've gotten!

"Ohhh, you think so? I didn't know how much you saw!" She laughed, rubbing her face as she felt her cheeks redden. She didn't realized how long he had been there... "I'm glad you think so, it's always hard not being able to go to ballet, so I try to practice as much as I can. Though... You probably know that." Rosie being a dancer was practically one of her personality traits. It was something she was good at, so she prided herself in it. Rosie smiled when he knelt down to look at her, as much as she appreciated her friend, she did not like having to break her neck to look at him.

What had she been up to? "Oh, you know, I've just been moving back in here. Getting used to classes, typical first week of school stuff. This year's a big one! So I'm making sure I'll be at my best. Can't be slacking off, I know I'll beat myself up for it later." Despite the fact she had been pushing back studying anyway. "What about you? How are you and Nico? Happily in love, I bet!" She hopped lightly on her feet. Hopeless romantic and nosey as she was, she was very curious about them. Though, there was a chance that it wasn't the case, and that would've been incredibly awkward.

Quinn blushed at the mention of Nico. With a quick nod and awkward chuckle he confirmed this. "Y-Yeah she is...um..." He started to laugh louder a nervous habit of his. "...she makes me really happy and not wanting to be a right shameful sod." He admitted his cheeks burning an acute shade of crimson red. Though thankfully this was partially hidden by his beard.

"Aye. This year is super important and I want to prove all those folks and my arse of a father saying I can't do anything wrong. I'm gonna get an O in all my owls just ye watch Ro!" He proudly proclaimed with a fire burning in his gut. He then turned his full attention back to his friend he hadn't seen in a while. "As for my life it's been..." His smile faded. "How long do you have to chat?" It was obvious by how he seemed to shrink that it must have been bad. Afterall they had talked very little.

She'd miss so much of what happened to him and how he was trying to change for the better. It was saddeningly sweet and despite it all. The voices, the shame, the pure hurt he experienced he managed to keep picking himself back up. He just prayed that his hormones, his tendency to overthink things, and still lingering feelings for Rosie would just firmly stay in the darkest reaches of his mind. To which high pitched laughter echoed in his head that he rolled his eyes at.

At the gushing about Nico, Rosie let out a childish giggle and lightly shook his arm. "That's so cute, Quinn! I'm happy for you, really. She seems so sweet, I wanna have an actual conversation with her sometime. If only I had someone, a double date would be so fun.." She sighed dramatically. Though, it was all jokes, Rosie wasn't very interested in dating at the moment. Rather, she much preferred hearing about the love drama that her friends got into. It was gossip, sure, but she also liked helping her friends with it!

Year Five was pretty important for them. Rosie had been focusing on that idea for a few weeks now. In the past, she had been spotty about focusing on her studies, but she knew this year would be very important for her. She wanted to be able to have a good reputation upon graduating Hogwarts, it would help her land somewhere she could be productive. Really, Rosie just wanted a future plan that wasn't A. being a muggle doctor, and B. being a Quidditch athlete. While both choices seemed good, Rosie didn't want to make a sound decision yet. Thus, she'd just make sure she was prepared to go anywhere.

The Hufflepuff grinned, nodding. "Yeah! You're gonna kick some school ass this year, Quinn. You're plenty smart, too!" She knew that Quinn's home life was far from ideal, so it was important to Rosie that she made a space for him to be happy. He was one of her best friends, after all. She had to be a good friend to him, it's what he deserved. So when he mentioned his year, her smile faded a bit.

Rosie paused, before going to sit down. She patted the spot next to her, smiling warmly at her friend. "I've got as long as you need me, Quinn. Tell me all about it." She would listen. That was a promise.
