Hufflepuff v Slytherin Jan 2022
After a breath, out Dan flew, for all to see.
Dan had considered not coming for this one... After the disaster that the last game was... Not only was the win streak against Ravenclaw broken after so many victories, but he took it as a personal failure.
He had been inconsolable for several days after the loss. And to be honest, he wasn't entirely feeling up to a match even now.
But, he had a team, and legions of fans of him and his teammates. This was bigger than him and his moping.
So, he put on a confident face, and flew out with his team, smirking and waving to the crowd. Doubtless, they thought him mad for being barefooted in this weather. But he'd walked barefooted through Hogsmeade snow with Andy for several hours, with no consequence. He'd done this in lower temperatures than this before.
Back came the memories of last game. Jorah had destroyed his beloved Silver Arrow, and he had to get it repaired by professionals. It was done so perfectly even Dan himself could see no sign of injury, despite looking. For over an hour.
Despite the broom being fully and perfectly repaired, Dan's unrestrained hatred for Ravenclaw, and Jorah Moussa in particular, had not died down in the slightest. Add to that the fact that Jorah had yet to even apologize for wrecking so many of his team's brooms, and Dan's unending fury only grew.
And this was not likely to be something Dan would be letting go anytime soon.
Shaking the thoughts from his head, Dan took his position. Weirdly, Cassandra yelled the Cobra Kai mantra from the Karate Kid.
Perhaps in reference to Dan's preferred name for the team, Cloud Cobras.
Needless to say, Mercy was the last thing on Dan's mind. Dan's intentions were to crush any hope of Hufflepuff taking the cup. This was actually to help ensure that Ravenclaw lost it. It would give Dan unprecedented levels of glee and pleasure to be able to hold the Quidditch Cup over Jorah's- I mean Ravenclaw's head after what they did.
Erin then asked him to describe her target. An.... interesting way to ask who her target was. But Dan complied.
Afterward, he began to do what he always did.

New day, new match. After getting knocked out within a minute into his first game, the small boy was devastated. It had been up to him to take Koko's place as second-string keeper, and he hadn't been able to help. Admittedly, it had taken a while before he was fully confident in the skies once more.
He gazed out towards the pitch, noting optimistically that snow was better than the rain of their last match. Wrapped in a scarf and hat, he plopped down on the bench next to Percival Rainwood, leaving a spot for Flash at the end of the bench. It seemed that this was Avery's seat now. "Hi Percival!" he greeted the older boy jovially, peering around at him. "How are you feeling today? Spirits high? Bad mood? Tell it like it is!" he prompted, since he knew that rainy weather made Percival rude and cold -- but how about snowy weather, or sunny weather, or cloudy weather? To be able to fully map out this boy's intense mood swings, he needed more data points.
"Hi Flash!" he greeted the second-string seeker even more jovially as he took his spot at the end of the bench, hoping to incite a happier response from the older boy. His morning workout partner had been more and more quiet and withdrawn lately, and he wasn't quite sure why. Family problems, maybe. Or upperclassmen friend problems. There had to be a reason why upperclassmen were so moody.
"How do you think we'll do, Flash?" he asked. Maybe a little chat would help bring Flash out of his melancholy cloud. "Do we have a record of beating Hufflepuff? How are they as a team?"
He looked down the bench, hoping to find Dancelos Grey. "Dancelos! Are you staying warm? Let's not get cold, okay?"

Outfit: Quidditch Uniform Sunday, January 16, 2022XXXGame two. After the devastating (and quite frankly humiliating) loss of Slytherin against Ravenclaw back in October, Maggie had been spending a moderate amount of time evaluating her play tactics and other such. First string as a first-year with no prior experience was no joke! Plus, the game was harder than it looked.
Now, though, Maggie had the aid of a better broom. A Silver Arrow, loaned to her by one Liana Kerr (AKA the best person ever, AKA Maggie's most best friend in the entire whole wide world) might ensure they pull out a win. The upgrading of brooms within the Slytherin team was hopefully enough to win this time. With luck, they'd pull one out.
Maggie flew onto the field with a wave, scanning the crowd with screwy vision she should likely get checked out, and took her place in the sky. Play on.

Aother year, another game. Hopefully, not another failure.
Everytime Stanley had been put out onto the feild he had failed in catching the snitch. It felt like a repeating pattern and there was going to be no change to it at all. He had just got sight of the snitch all before the other seeker caught it crushing his dreams.
Stanley knew being disheartend by the last game would not help them with this one and decided to push the thoughts away. Although his skill was not getting any better, his confidence definitely was. "Go hufflepuff!" He shouted from the bench were he sat. There was no room for any more failure from the small boy and he knew it.

Excited was an understatement. Little Enrico was absolutely flying over the moon with how thrilled he was to finally be a part of Quidditch. He had been intrigued by the sport, and hitting people without any sort of punishment afterwards really seemed to be his forte. Though he was not playing just yet, trust and believe that he was going to contribute to his team's morale just as much as he would have had he been on the pitch, flying around and about. He was so full of energy his feet couldn't stop tapping against the ground, but most of the reason to why that was, was because he was shaking in excitement.
He held himself together until the yellow team flew up high in the air and Enrico screamed at the top of his lungs, trying to cheer them on. Watching from the main seating area was an experience, but this was much better. Except for the fact that he could barely see anything without his original glasses on, his goggles that were supposed to shield his eyes when he took flight had already been put on just so he could be prepared when the time came, if it did. What they sufficed in protection lacked in sight support. The boy started to see less the second he put them on. That was an urgent problem. A problem for another day.
What was important now was to secure victory for his team.
"Come on Hufflepuff! We got this! You got this! I got this!" What he actually had to offer to his team was yet to be tested, but Enrico was more than willing to put his aggressive tendencies to good use had his team required them. Even if it meant hitting some of the people whom he shared friendships with, that were on the adversery. Friendships had their boundaries, but they could easily be broken in a game of Quidditch.

The time had come once more... Another chance for Ethen to prove himself and another chance to see the end of a game while conscious. Unlike previous games, Ethen could feel the tendrils of nervousness slowly creeping over him. He remained calm and composed but there was a level of pressure that he had not felt before. It wasn't pressure from his team but his own expectations and desire to prove himself. Ethen wanted desperately to clinch a win for his team to rekindle the success his house had once enjoyed.
But also in the back of his mind was the slight worry that this would be but another game that he would be smashed from his broom. His string of unconsciousness seemed almost like an inevitability at this point but he was determined to keep himself calm. There was no point in letting himself get distracted with the fear of bludgers or aggressive opponents. If he stayed focused, he knew his team could pull everything together.
He rest upon a new broom and slowly he began to feel more comfortable as he took to the sky. There was something relaxing about flying that always seemed to calm what nerves did creep forward. "We've got this fellow flying badgers!" he shouted out as he found his place. "Lets flajangle them and send em back to the dungeons!" Ethen began to prepare a battle song for the start of the game. For it wasn't truly a game unless he was screaming some absurd song.

With a quick shake of her shoulders and crack of the neck, Atlas smiled quietly to herself. She adored the chance to compete and she was hungry for a win. It had been too long since they had tasted a sweet victory and she felt confident that today would be their day. They were faster and more clever than their foes. Not to mention the fact that no quaffles would be sneaking past her today. She felt limber and full of energy, ready to smack down any pathetic attempts to score.
While confident in her team, Atlas knew that they had some tough competition. But as long as she didn’t get frustrated or distracted, she doubted any team could stop them. Taking up her position by the familiar goal posts, Atlas took a deep breath of the cold winter air. Her entire body began to feel the cold almost as soon as she took to the skies but she tried to force it out of her head. If she was freezing, so was the other team. Although, it made the prospect of getting hit seem far worse. Behind hit with a bludger in the cold was somehow worse than the already abysmal experience.
“We’ve got this Puffs!” Atlas cried out to her team. The smile never left her lips, despite the slight chatter of her teeth. She believed some of the cold might wane when the adrenaline of the game kicked in…at least she hoped it would or she felt as though she may be frozen by the end. But even as an ice sculpture she liked her odds in defending the posts.
Momentarily her eyes drifted to Ethen. It seemed like every game her poor boyfriend received the majority of the attacks and it was always challenging to watch him plummet from his broom but she had faith that the strange seeker would find a way to grasp the elusive snitch. Her focus returned to the posts and her eyes honed on the other team as they prepared for the start of the game.

Alexx was more than prepared, this time, to make up for her poor performance last game.
She couldn't say that she would ever admit to playing as poorly as she did, but it was part of her past now, and everyone would be expecting a huge comeback from the infamous chaser. In these moments, Alexx resented being who she was. She resented being so well known. She would have rather been no one, just another student, so that people did not have any kind of expectations. But she was here instead, preparing to play, hoping for the best.

Oh quinn hadn't felt more alive in a long time. He was back in his element as he walked on to the pitch and let out an excited and deep roar from his massive frame. "LET'S GOOOOOOOOOOOOOO BADGERS!!!" He proclaimed mounting his broom and climbing quickly to the skies, with an excited smirk. He was determined to bring his team to victory this match. It was time to start the year off right and more than that bring something nice and pleasant for his house. He had nothing ill towards Slytherin save Erin Ryan but he was determined to win. It was time to do this.

Ami was, first and foremost, a showoff. A cocky prat, a meat sack stuffed with arrogance and seasoned with smugness... whatever you wanted to call her, the Hufflepuff co-captain walked around like she was the hottest person to have ever been born. So obviously, she wanted to have the flashiest entrance to their match, which resulted in her striding out onto the field in her full furry form. Seated astride her back, hands tightly gripping the fur on her neck for support was Rosie Parker, and being guided to the sidelines was Annie Morgan. As the trio, along with the rest of the team, emerged onto the field, Ami let out an ear-shattering and triumphant roar, announcing the badgers' arrival to the crowd.
This was it. This was their match to win.
Ami the Bear hrmph-ed in agreement to Rosie's excitement, before nudging her gently toward the field. She carefully guided Annie toward the bench before returning to her human form, giving the second-string keeper a quick hug before mounting her broom. "I better hear you cheering loud and clear, Morgan," she jested, laughter lining her words before she took off, taking her position on the pitch.
Scanning up and down the pitch, she looked toward the familiar faces of her teammates. When Howard returned from his customary warm-up laps, she saluted her fellow fifth year, meeting his determined stare with her own. She made sure to bump shoulders with Quinn, grinning at their captain's enthusiasm. Her fluttering heart was soothed when her ears caught the beginning notes of Ethen's war song of the day, and she nodded firmly at Atlas. Rosie and Serena also seemed ready to go, and Ami could almost taste the adrenaline coursing through her veins.
"Fly fast, and godspeed," she called out to her team, raising a fist in the air. "Let's play hard, badgers!"
