[font=times new roman]With a racing mind, Wyatt made his way back to his dorm, his nose in a brand-new book. Some other Defense Against the Dark Arts book he’d come across, nothing insane, but it was a higher-level book. Stuff he’d learn next year. He thought he might try to work out some spells early, to get ahead, and wanted to narrow down which ones were best to spend his time on. Though he knew he may have looked odd, he barely cared. He’d worry about how silly he looked later, but now was when he’d focus on the spells.
It wasn’t that the rumors were true. Though he was intrigued by what he was told to stay away from much like everyone else in the world, he wasn’t dabbling in the Dark Arts. He was thirteen, for Merlin’s sake! He was just really interested in wand magic. Even though it had been a few years for him at Hogwarts already, he was still stifling a goofy, awestruck look during every new Charms or DADA lesson. Potions was just like… cooking, if you thought about it. But spells, curses, jinxes, hexes, it was all new.
Though his mind was stimulated, he was totally out of it in terms of spacial awareness. He didn’t notice he hadn’t turned at an intersection in the corridor until someone smacked right into him, causing him to drop his book, which hit the floor with a loud smack. He quickly dropped to pick it up, and got a look at the person he ran into as he stood back up. Holding some canvas? An artist?
As he rose, snatching the book from the stone floor, he sneered out, “for an artist, you’ve truly got some poor eyesight.”

A love-hate relationship. That was how Aurora would describe her feelings towards the woman who brought her into the world. Some might call it a teenage phase although technically the girl was a bit too young to be in that category. Imagine a childish and rebellious Aurora being in the same room without a door to escape with an adult and slightly wiser version of the same person. A disaster, like a plate of delicious food with ten bottles of hot sauce. Banters all day long, they were warriors with words as their weapon. But when the divine light blessed their hearts, they had the most wholesome mother-daughter relationship anyone could ask for. Despite the neverending conflict and disagreements, the bond between the two was strong, neither ever wanting to hurt nor live without the other’s presence.
With her mother’s birthday was around the corner, the state of her dorm room was unimaginable, bless all of her dorm mates. Messy was an understatement. If a professor were doing a bed check and not knowing that Aurora was one of the occupants, they would think someone or something ransacked the whole dorm. Might be the work of multiple magical creatures, or perhaps a group of bandits. Either that or it was an attack of the evildoers, bad things must have happened there. But no, it was just Aurora being her busy self, nothing major. She couldn’t even concentrate being surrounded in such clutters which led her to the grounds of Hogwarts, spreading her personal belongings everywhere, or in this case, her 12 inches square canvas, a humongous bag of paints, and a set of paint brushes. The scenery was the lake near her neighborhood, the same place where her father proposed, which would bring some good memories, as well as her first time of having a friend.
After hours of sitting in the same position, she found out that working on a personal project in an open space was less than enjoyable. It was not her thing, she felt so exposed even if no one in particular minded her business. The sun wasn’t helping either, both the mood and the speed of the paint to dry. And so she decided to go back to the tower, her blue disarray tower. Though, it seemed like a person with a sour mood felt worthy enough to insert himself in her plan with a bump, flown book and art creation, then implicitly said that the Ravenclaw needed a pair of spectacles in a rather rude way. Guilty as charged, she failed to calculate the distance between her and the boy whose name wasn’t important, thus causing a collision that could be mend by a simple apology. If only he did apologize, the chaotic mode wouldn’t be switched on.
Looking up to the cause of the traffic jam, a rather tall dark haired boy was trying to play victim. He had chosen the wrong opponent. If it was a fight he’s looking for, the short stature girl would gladly declare a lifetime war. “Well, at least they are still intact! Unlike yours, they are so far up your arse, you can’t even see”
Aurora was alright, still as flawless as ever, without a single scratch. Her painting, on the other hand, wasn’t doing so well. It was face planted on the floor because of the previous impact, making the wet thick oil paints smeared everywhere, leaving a colourful mess behind. So was a plastic cup filled with her paint brushes in different shapes along with what looked like to be a squid’s ink, if one’s willing to touch it, they would realise that the weird liquid was actually a baby oil and paints mixture that she used to clean her brushes. Some of it left some stains here and there on her overall painted jeans, it might as well hit the boy, either himself or the books depending on the direction of the fall (feel free to decide whether or not it hits you). Fortunately for him, her pain tubes were still secure inside her black canvas bag, thus, he did not have to handle the level two anger of Aurora. Though, the first level was already hard enough for most people.
Eyes fixated on the upside down canvas in horror, as if all of her chocolates in the trunk vanished into thin air. Repeated mutters of disbelief, it was a tragedy that cut the fragile soul of hers and it went deeper as the moment finally sinked in. Aurora shifted her gaze onto the boy in all black and green collared outer, green enough to make him look like a walking nori. Though it was quite stylish, somehow their little encounter just made everything about him repulsive. A frown engraved on her already bitter face as a seasoning, a spicy one.
A devil in disguise was what the girl is. Looking so innocent and lovely but could definitely ruin anyone that was in her hate list, both physically and mentally. She was a chore, even the highest security prison wouldn’t want to take her in. Some were lucky enough to see the other side of the drama queen, but surely, the boy wasn’t one of them. “I bet you can’t tell that you ruined my painting, well, I will tell you, YOU DID!”

[font=times new roman]“Well, at least they are still intact! Unlike yours, they are so far up your arse, you can’t even see.”
The rather short girl in front of him seemed quick to anger. Well, no. Was quick to anger, as evidence by her rather graphic response to his mild taunt. He looked at the fallen painting before him, as well as the paint brush cup and its brushes that had fallen to the floor. A rather colorful mess was made by the spill with dark ink and smeared paint now decorating the stone below the two students. While her painting was not, the girl was unharmed by the collision.
Well, not physically unharmed, at least. Her eyes, glued on the canvas, were wide in shock, anger, and terror, among other feelings Wyatt was unable to nail down. He thought it funny, how she was so expressive, so willing to give him a reaction. Her outfit was incredibly telling too. Pop-art patchwork covered her denim overalls and she wore a white tee underneath with some sort of green and purple graphic on it. Merlin, was it painfully bright. He also found it funny that she was dressed to look so kind. Her overalls looked like something straight out of Adlai Rod’s closet, even. The anger on her face, however--
“I bet you can’t tell that you ruined my painting, well, I will tell you, YOU DID!”
“Oh, I didn’t notice the large canvas face down on the floor,” Wyatt said sarcasm laced in his words. His mouth contorted into a crooked frown, the left corner of it dipping down. “Maybe it was already a terrible painting. Maybe I did you a favor. I mean, really. It was such a good painting that you didn’t even care to let it dry before parading it through the castle?”
This girl was just stupid. She was like a Gryffindor, with her lack of foresight. A Gryffindor would never spend time on something like art, though. Art takes time, and Gryffindors have to… What? Play quidditch or something? Maybe she was a Hufflepuff? A Slytherin wouldn’t be this dull. Or maybe they would. He lost a bit of faith in his house every time he interacted with one of his dormmates.
“Maybe next time be a little more patient, hm?” His tone was quite condescending. This girl was amusing, he wanted to know what made her tick.

“I-“ He really just tried to make an unstable kid mad. Quite a bold decision for him to make, perhaps he didn't know how crazy this particular Ravenclaw could be sometimes, not all the time of course. “HOW DARE!” Clenching her fists, at this point he was only biding time till Aurora finally go berserk, showing her absolute true colour. No more sunshine and rainbow, hello darkness and evil energy. Her soul was burning up, though, probably too late to cool down. “YOU JUST DON’T HAVE THE EYES FOR ARTS! YOU DON’T EVEN HAVE EYEBALLS!”
She just couldn't handle the lack of knowledge that the boy has. He definitely didn't radiate any Ravenclaw nerdiness nor creativeness, and way too obnoxious to be a sweet person from the house of a bunch of cinnamon rolls. Zero elegance to be a slytherin, but pretty fitting to carry a big red flag as his gryffindor pride. To be fair, it was not fair to judge someone based on their house. How is it different than comparing someone's blood status? The one thing she hated the most, being compared, and yet, she did the exact same thing to others. Brushing off the uneasiness by sighing, she proceeded to explain the reason why she did what she did, “I used oils, they don’t dry for at least a day and I can’t do that fancy wind magic and I can’t even use my portable fan here because for some reason batteries won’t work and I don’t have the energy to blow air on my painting or create a giant fan”
The combination of embarrassment and panic expression exposed her inner secret diary, though it wasn’t as obvious as she imagined it would be. Either the painting was completely botched like a failed cosmetic procedure or she just realised that the boy was actually right, her art skill was nowhere outstanding. The truth was standing far away from the two proposed theories. Surprised! It wasn’t ruin. Yes, there were some paint smears here and there, but nothing beyond repair. Uneccesary insults couldn’t be undo, once thrown, there was no going back. Aurora held the canvas backwards, the actual painting was facing her body making him unable to see what she was hiding from that position.
ReducioBlinking once, twice, thrice, mentally erase the violent route she was about go for, brown eyes were looking anywhere but the other person's direction. She had screamed empty angers and acted like an underpriviliged little gremlin, making an apologetic gesture would put her non existent pride on the deepest part of the bin. According to the unique derpy braincells of hers, it would be much better to just continue putting the blood on the innocent boy's hands, and when an opening could be seen even the tiniest, she would run as if her life depends on it.
It looks something like this, but messier, and uglier lol. Pretty decent for a twelve year old, but she's not that skilledoriginal artist : Carrie Paquette
Her ego was on the highest shelf. Though it was technically her fault, she still demand an apology. “Isn’t this the perfect time to say that you’re sorry?”

[font=times new roman]“YOU JUST DON’T HAVE THE EYES FOR ARTS! YOU DON’T EVEN HAVE EYEBALLS!”
If there were ever a list of dream reactions Wyatt could have gotten in his negative interactions with his peers, this would most definitely be on it. The fashion in which this girl told him off, or so he assumed she thought she did, was just brilliantly hysterical. He couldn’t stop to enjoy the moment entirely as he had to react. He wouldn’t let this go soon, however. He briefly wondered how he would try to mess with her again, later.
“Oh, because they're up my arse, like you said?” Wyatt questioned with faux sincerity. “Well, these aren’t glass,” he said as his hands rose to the skin surrounding his eyes and slightly stretched it with his thumb and forefinger so she could get a better view of his eyes. Then, he pulled his hands away, making something of an “I surrender” gesture before clasping his hands behind his back. He was, in truth, very far from surrender.
“I used oils, they don’t dry for at least a day and I can’t do that fancy wind magic and I can’t even use my portable fan here because for some reason batteries won’t work and I don’t have the energy to blow air on my painting or create a giant fan.”
It was a good sign to Wyatt that she was explaining herself. It meant she knew he was right, and was trying to save her own conscious with reason. Someone who didn’t care wouldn’t have even tried, and Wyatt did respect her there. Though she was explaining herself, a rather weak move, at least she stuck with her original claim. There was respect owed in holding your ground.
Oh, and also, though Wyatt did not care to know for the same reasons as someone like Percival Gray, the bastard, she must’ve been raised outside of the wizarding world. A portable fan is hardly a household item in pure-blooded neighborhoods.
“Isn’t this the perfect time to say that you’re sorry?”
Wyatt scoffed—of course he did.
“I can’t imagine why I’d do that. I’m not sorry and I have no reason to be. If anything, I’m the one who should be owed an apology,” he replied. “It’s as if your stubbornness is taking the place of your sense. First showing off a wet painting through the corridors then your inability to say you’re sorry for the mess you made? And you’re leaving said mess for the elves, I see,” he noted, looking at the paint smudged on the floor.
Raising his wand to the paint, Wyatt cast “scourgify,” then placed his wand back into his pocket.
“You’re welcome,” he said as he did so, in a rather aloof way, not even making eye contact with the girl. He was more focused on making sure his wand got to his pocket safely than on her, or so he wished she’d think. He couldn’t wait for her reaction to this, he thought as he finally returned eye contact.

What a trigger. Obviously, Aurora would think she could take him down with a single blow as if he were made of a piece of paper. He didn’t check anything in the intimidation list, there was absolutely no reason to be terrified of a person with no sense of direction. “Listen here you green obnoxious alien! You bumped onto me! I wouldn’t create such a mess if you were walking on your line!” How dare he say ‘you’re welcome’? Who does he think he is? A demigod with shoulder length curly hair with big muscles and tattoos covering his skin. “You’re a joke, when is your birthday? April 1st?”
The temptation to carve a frown on his face was unbearable, as if there was a giant milk chocolate bar in the middle of the corridor, and she couldn’t wait to break it down into tiny pieces and melt it so she could make marshmallows dipped in chocolate. The feeling was somewhat similar, but change the chocolate and the marshmallow to that boy and pepper spray. Imagine making a pepper spray but infusing it with the blood of the enemy. It screams the perfect ultimate protection against all types of creeps out there. All those times she spent in meditation would be for nothing if she would give in just for this boy who clearly tried to test her limit. It became public knowledge that the self-control threshold of Aurora Ranvier was extremely low, making it relatively easy for anyone to stomp on her pedal, break her steering wheel and brake, just watching the girl ruining herself.
How could she be that impulsive with a violent mind? Didn’t she remember the promise she had made that should become her second year resolution? A promise to herself to control her explosive emotion, no more casting spells if unnecessary, no more punching or kicking or pepper spraying people no matter how much they were dying and begging to be taught a lesson. No more defenses, no more excuses. We don’t do that anymore.
Breathe in
Breathe out
“Well, thank you very much you wonderful human being-“ With an exaggerated politeness to the point of ingenuity, though fooling anyone was not her intention at all, “-I hope you don’t mind if I do this to repay your kindness.” With that, Aurora would try and pinch the skin of his arm through the green fabric he was wearing as hard as she could. It was not a punch or a kick, nor would it cause a severe physical effect on him. She took baby steps to achieve her goal, slowly but unfortunately not surely. Besides, the school year wouldn’t end in a blink of an eye.Accuracy roll if needed but tatsu seems to hate me
