"Maim you? I tried to do a sheild spell but I couldn't remember the incantation. I thought it was Diffindo but then it wasn't." Her voice had gotten louder from the anger. He was her second friend she had made during potions class. Well at least she thought. They all hung out together.

Her voice had been quiet since she was not used to admitting her faults. Then the brunette noticed the professor. She must've looked like she was setting him up. Fine, she wasn't going to get any where with hin. I guess now he wasn't her friend.

Eri turned her back towards him so he wouldn't see her tears. "You don't know what happened. You don't understand. It wasn't on purpose. Now from that one mistake I have no friends and I am hated among Ravenclaws." She said her voice shaking from crying but she sounded a tiny bit upset but mostly angry.  "Sorry I even bothered to try to make it up to you." Eri wiped her tears and didn't turn around. She just held onto her locket. Maybe everything would be all right if she avoided everyone. It wouldn't work there are to many people at Hogwarts.

The girl was getting angry which was even more confusing to him. What was even going on, was there a professor or wasn't there? The one phrase that really stuck out to the boy was 'you don't understand'
he was painfully aware that he didn't understand, that he was missing something. He had no idea what to do, all of his training had been in how to identify a threat, how to avoid the threat, how to survive. Making friends, losing friends, and making up with the friends you lost were all completely alien to him. A friend was someone you called friend. Someone who would always be by your side, through thick and thin and everything in between. If that person said they didn't want to be your friend any more, then so be it, they weren't your friend. This entire situation was out of his comfort zone. Why was she turning her back to him, was she trying to get him to take a cheap shot so that the invisible professor, or whoever she saw hiding out there that he couldn't detect would catch him? Was he really worth all of that trouble? What was he even supposed to do now?
He ended up not saying anything, standing there in the breeze, his scarf catching the wind and blowing to the side, whipping about silently.

Eri didn't hear him anymore. Maybe he left. The professor left to. The brunette just stared at the lake holding her locket. She was told talking it out with the person you heart helped so they could understand you didn't mean it, but talking to anybody about what she goes through daily is hard enough. Maybe her parents were right to leave her. Maybe they knew she would mess up her "perfect" life.

"You don't know what it is like to be told you have to be the perfect child and live with the fear maybe your parents left you because you were a mistake, but I do. All I came down here to do was say sorry for my mistake and for hurting you." She turned back towards him and grabbed her wand then she walked over to the lake and sat down. Her wand laid a foot away from her with her satchel.

The brunette did not meant to share all of that with him. "Sorry my feelings just come out sometimes." She said sadly, then she just stared into the lake trying to forget all of those feelings that came out. She was still holding her locket very tightly in her hand. Silent tears fell down her cheeks and she wiped them away.

"Why does it matter why they left you?"
Why did she even care that her parents left her, or care that she was supposed to be perfect? Parents were you reason for being alive, not your reason for living. Who honestly cared about them? Certainly not a death witch, that just didn't make any sense. And then she just started to apologize for weird things. Sorry for her mistake made sense, she had to keep up appearances, but sorry for letting out her feelings? What feelings had she even let out? She hadn't really let out any emotion during the entire time they had been talking, her tone and pitch had changed, but nothing really emotional, right? He thought back, trying to figure out what she was talking about as drops of water started falling out of her eyes. It made sense, it was starting to become springtime after all. She probably got pollen in her eyes or something like that. That meant she couldn't see him, right? That he could run away if he wanted to? But what if it was an act, a trap meant to get his back turned. Maybe there wasn't a professor but she wanted him to think there was.
"What emotions?"

"Why do I care?" Eri had never thought about that. Why did she care if her parents left her? Well for one she felt like they should have been there to raise her. "I don't know why I care. I have never met my parents once in my eleven years, that I can remember." Eri frowned and gathered her things and stood up. Maybe she could just go. This was difficult since he seemed to think she was some sort of death witch. The brunette wiped a strand of hair from her face and looked at the ground.

"My regret and fear. Now if I am bothering you I will leave." Eri looked back up and shouldered her satchel. She slid her wand in her pocket and waited for him to tell her to leave or something like that. She looked at the Lake again. Watching the sunlight reflect off of the glassy surface. She liked it at Hogwarts but it could be didficult sometime.

Eri looked at the grass and nervously scuffed her foot in the dirt. She was deep in thought wondering if Kaegen would forgive her or if he would think she was a death witch forever.

She hadn't seen her parents in 11 years and she was worried about them? That was ridiculous, no one cared for something they hadn't seen for that long. Things were forgotten, it's how the world worked. You didn't worry about the tree you couldn't see, or the tree on the other side of the world. A tree on a different continent had roots but you didn't worry about them as you walked. You didn't worry that they would trip you as you walked about in your garden. It just didn't happen.
This was ludicrous, ridiculous. It was horribly, miserably unprecedented. It made no sense, it didn't fit with any kind of logic Kaegen knew of. Who in their right mind would care about something that they had only heard of, something that had no impact whatsoever in their life.
She turned away from him and picked up her wand, saying that the emotions she had supposedly just let out were regret and fear. Fear of what, what could someone as powerful as Eri possibly be afraid of. What kind of creature could posses that much potential for chaos? Back in the Fens he had always been worried, scared of what kind of creatures were out there. No matter how many he found, no matter how dangerous they were, there were always more of them, always creatures that were stronger than the ones he found before. It made sense that there was something out there stronger than her, strong enough to be feared.
"I'm not easily bothered."

"Listen, I don't know what you think I am, but I'm just an eleven year old girl. I looked up to my parents when my aunt told me they were daily prophet journalists, but they never cared for me. I guess I could just forget about them." She shook her head and looked at him. "If you are wondering how I could do diffindo. It was accidental, but I have seen my Aunt do it a lot for her job as a seamstress and I guess I just knew how to do it." Eri looked back at the ground and put her hand to her head and shut her eyes like she might faint.

The brunette sighs and opens her eyes. She hates feeling like she might faint. It happens when she has had no sleep for a while.

Eri frowned and looked at Kaegen hoping he didn't see she might pass out. She hasn't slept in four days cause she has been in the common room reading or sitting in her bed awake not wanting to sleep.

The brunette takes a step back and looks back at the ground focusing on not faint or falling. She looks up and manages a weak smile.

He had no idea what was going on, what she said still didn't make sense. He remembered back to when he was even younger than he was now, maybe 3 or 4 when his pet had died and he cried over it. Grandfather had beaten him that day, told him how stupid it was to care about something like that. How stupid it was to care about tripping over tree roots that weren't in your path. Her uncanny ability to know what he was wondering about kind of worried him, but not any more than he already was.
The girl closed her eyes, and focused. Concentrated on something as her brows knit slightly together, and her balance failed for just an instant. Was she casting a spell? Was that what that was? Kaegen's eyes opened in shock as he remembered when she had stared at the ground. What kind of forbidden magic was this, did it have two steps? Was it some kind of dark ritual? His mind buzzed with possibilities and dark forecasts of what could happen to him, of what would happen to him if he continued on this course. If he stayed here.
The girl frowned at him then looked down while taking an unsteady step backwards. What was she doing? Had whatever dark ritual she had just completed really taken that much out of her? His fears were confirmed when she looked up smiling. That meant she was happy which meant something had just gone her way. But what?
"What did you just do..."

"Nothing. If you must know I almost fainted, but that isn't important." Eri frowned again She really needs to get some sleep. "I haven't slept for four days. I haven't been able to sleep well." She said abit awkwardly. She didn't include the part about her nightmares.

The brunette stifled a yawn and she looked at the grass again. "What did you think I did some spell that requires concentration? I can't even concentrate long enough to do a lot of things."

Eri looks at him and shakes her head. She doesn't need to be falling asleep during the day. She needs proper sleep, but it doesn't happen. Why does he think she is some kind of death witch. "What do you think I am?" She asks curious. Hopefully he doesn't think she will kill everyone. That would be a bad impression.

Eri looked back at the ground trying to stay awake and not pass out. Maybe she should just go back to the dorm and sleep. That would be a good idea, but she would do that later. When she was done talking to Kaegen and got things cleared up which might not happen, but she could hope it would.

She was dizzy, almost fainting? Could she really not concentrate on a lot of things? Kaegen had seen this before, he knew exactly what was going on. Grandfather had explained to him this kind of person, he was no stranger to how she thought. In fact, this made sense. This made everything click together so well a slight smile started to tug up on the corners of his mouth. He felt a kind of pride, really. The kind that comes to you when you achieve something that was hard to achieve. He took a break from his pride to answer the more obvious question she asked.
"I think you are a death witch that can shape shift into the form of a student."
that question aside, his mind wandered back to the previous conclusion he had expertly drawn. She was dying. Either that or this temporary form was dying. That was why she had been so sloppy, that was why she had almost fainted. She didn't have long, one way or the other. And he had figured it out. But then again she had made it pretty obvious. Was she actually dying? And if so why would she want him to know?
"You're dying."
