Rosie gasped when the squid bit Anatole, retreating her hand back immediately. "Are you okay?" She asked, frowning. She looked down at the squid and blew a raspberry at it. "Stinky! Don't bite my friends finger like that! Splash the water if you're sorry!" Rosie pointed to the water, expecting it to follow her commands.

It probably didn't.

Rosie pouted and finally turned her attention to Anatole, walking to him and holding his hand up, looking at his finger. "Do you need to go to the wing? Is the squid poisonous?" She gasped. "That'd be really bad, actually." Rosie patted his hand softly and turned to the water. "Dangerous and mean squid! I'm still waiting for your heartfelt apology!" She pointed, yelling. Rosie didn't think the squid would actually apologize, she was mostly trying to get Anatole to laugh through his pain. Rosie turned back to him with a big smile and a little giggle slipping out, they both knew Aye wouldn't respond. "Guess he does bite." She managed to say, shrugging.

How did squids even bite? Did they have teeth? That was terrifying to think about. It made Rosie shiver. Squids with teeth... Imagine that. Rosie did not want to.

“Are you okay, Anatole?  I’m sure the squid didn’t mean to harm anyone.  Just having a bit of fun, I think,” Cynthia said.  She didn’t think the squid meant to bite anyone.  “You might want to go up to the Hospital Wing and have it checked out,” Cynthia advised him.  Seeing him cringe from the pain, she could tell that it had hurt and that he was trying to play it off by acting as though everything was fine.  Anytime Cynthia had some much as a scratch, she always cleaned it and applied some dittany to it so it would heal properly.  If she had some dittany with her, perhaps it might be of some help to Anatole.

Cynthia couldn’t help chuckling at Rosie’s response to the giant squid.  “Let me know when you get that apology, Rosie,” she said, still chuckling a little.  Right now her focus was on Anatole’s unfortunate injury.  “If you want, Rosie and I could go with you to the Hospital Wing and wait for you,” Cynthia offered.  She had never been to the Hospital Wing before and did not know what it looked like.  She really didn’t want to be a patient there though.  It was never fun being hurt or sick.

He held his finger again, hoping the pain would simmer itself down. It hurt like a squid bite, well, if you've ever been bitten by a squid. Looking up at the sky, he shook it out, looking at the mark the squid left on his pinkie. However, Anatole decided a little nip couldn't get the best of him. "Agh, I'm fine...yeah, I'm fine. It just...stings!" He tried to laugh it off and laugh at his best friend's derogatory comment to the squid at the same time, but as usual, it came off strange and awkward.

He brushed his hair out of his face, grabbing his cloak with his non-injured hand. "God! A squid? Poisonous? I've never heard of one like that!" Anatole's eyes widened with worry. He didn't want to get really sick...from a squid bite, of all things. That would certainly leave a good imprint on his reputation. "Yeah, yeah...I think going to the wing would be the best idea." He winced, reaching down and picking up his cloak with his sore hand, accidentally. "So much for a simple day at the lake, am I right?" Another awkward laugh erupted from his system. With a nervous smile, his dark eyes glanced at Cynthia. "Yeah. You can come if you want."

Anatole took one more good, long look at the squid in the pond, swimming like nothing happened. "You better apologize! That hurt like...like...like a terrible bite!" He laughed, this time more confident in himself. "Come on, we better go inside before it gets dark." The Gryffindor ran up the hill, stopping a bit to tend to his wound. He led the pack, surprisingly.

It would have been wrong to say they didn't have a good day.
Anatole [and maybe the other two, just owl me if you approve, Cynthia] exits, heading to the wing.
