The Moon was Raining
Relief started to grow inside of Errol's stomach like a budding seed as James stirred with movement and gazed up at her, at least he wasn't dead she thought grimly to herself. Frigid droplets of rain fell past her and landed on James' cheeks, hopefully pulling him from the darkness he had managed to slip into after the attack. Brushing aside her soaked hair, she now regretted not pulling her hood over her head once again, she had not expected to be in the rain for this long. Even now the rain hadn't given up, drowning out any possible sound of another threat approaching the two from the darkness. The bud of relief suddenly seemed to wither as the idea of another beast stumbling upon the two First years festered within Errol's mind. They needed to go soon, whether James was awake or not.
Standing up, Errol pulled back the soaked sleeves of her robe, revealing her pale arms to the cold, which wasn't ideal but for the job she was about to do she would have to be fine with it. As goosebumps blossomed across her skin, she crouched down above James' head and hooked her arms beneath his armpits as she tried to haul him up from the mud. Grunting with the dead-weight, she stumbled backwards, her foot sinking into the soft ground. With her stick-thin limbs, the journey back to Hogwarts would be long if James didn't wake up soon.

The Moon was Raining
James was slipping in and out of consciousness, effectively making it difficult for his rescuer to drag him out of harm's way. To James, if he could think, he would think that this felt like trying to stay awake in his muggle math class, but a lot more dangerous, almost on steroids.
Wake up! WAKE UP! James unconsciously commanded himself. This was more like trying to wake up in the morning after his alarm clock had already gone off. And he wasn't very good at that, so he wasn't very good at this, as he was being dragged along through the mud by whoever it was who had come for him.
James didn’t know what else he could do to make himself respond and at least move to help his rescuer, and not make this whole thing difficult for them. He needed to break through the fuzzy wall of sleep and wake up. If only a bucket of ice cold water was dropped onto his face. Then he would surely wake up and not go to sleep again any time soon after that. His face was already wet from the rain, but the rain came in many little drops, and James had become used to the feeling, it almost being soothing in a way.
Suddenly, James awoke with a start as his face was splashed with what felt like a giant waterfall of… well, water. A single heavy leaf had been filling up with water, and James had been accidentally dragged under it at the same moment that the leaf dropped down and released the water within its bowl-like shape. James sputtered and gasped, fully awake now, but still with blurry vision. His sudden frantic movements made him fall out of the slippery grip of whoever had been holding him. JAmes landed in the mud with a soft thud, and gasped for a second before attempting to sit up. He started to finally notice the strained blood that was coming out.

The Moon was Raining
With James suddenly coming alive in a startling jolt that caused him to slip from her grip, Errol yelped and flinched backwards, not expecting that much liveliness from the injured boy she was positive had already lost consciousness. Her foot sunk into the mud behind her throwing her off balance as her fingers reached out to anchor herself before she landed in the mud like James, thankfully luck was on her side as she caught a branch and steadied herself, watching with guilt as James wasn't so lucky and he slipped downwards and gasped as his body landed with a thud. Springing into action James shot up, but not before Errol was crouching down, her arms hooking beneath his once again as she attempted to lift him up.
"Quickly," she said as she gritted her teeth and struggled to lift him without causing any more harm to his injuries. If Errol had to take a guest, she would say that once they got back to Hogwarts and made their way to Hospital Wing, they'd be told that his wounds had gotten infected- if not by the beast's claws than by all of the mud that soaked the two of them. "We need to go," she said urgently but in a hushed voice. She wanted to scream run at the delirious boy- to get up and follow after her as they returned to the safety of the castle that towered over the trees in a distance, but she feared that if she raised her voice it would attract the attention of other beasts who had yet to set their eyes upon the two children. Instead, with trembling hands caked in mud, she offered James her help.

Time skip now???
James was fully awake now. Still very much in pain, but conscious and able to move somewhat.
"Quickly, we need to go." James felt someone pick him back up and continue dragging him away. Whoever this was must have had a lot of stamina, James thought. He craned his neck to look back, and squinting through the rain and the mud and the dark, he saw his savior for the first time.
The first thing he saw was her soaked, frizzy hair. If James knew who this was, then a lot of people were just crossed off of his list on who this could be because he didn't think he knew many frizzy-haired people at all! But maybe that was just an effect of the rain. James really couldn't see much else, mostly because of all the movement, and the lack of light, but there was something familiar about whoever this was. James would hopefully find out who this person was later, when they were in a safer situation preferably.
James struggled to get up, letting him be led on, but still trying to help as best as he could in order for the two of them to get out of this terrible mess they were in.
