2021, Stage 1 Gryffindor vs. Ravenclaw: Match 5

Round Thirteen

GRYFFINDOR IS VICTORIOUS

Dmitri opened his mouth to give the cheeky Ravenclaw boy a scathing reply, but before a word could escape his lips, a simultaneous blast of double Flipendos and particularly nasty lightning struck Robert Toukmond down where he stood. Things happened too fast for the Slytherin captain to throw out a quick Protego as he had with Mars T'ien and so the blonde-haired boy couldn't help letting out a wince.

Sheesh. Talk about misfortune. Whichever deity these children pissed off, they'd better make sure to make amends. Quickly.

Even with his undisguised sympathy for the boy, Dmitri still couldn't hold back a sigh of relief. He was already resigned to this duel becoming a long con, wasting the precious time he could have devoted to studying for his OWLs, but it seemed fate had a nice (for Robert: nasty) surprise.

"Wands down, Gryffindor wins!"

The Slytherin gestured for the medical staff to magic away the Ravenclaw kid's prone body, dusting his palms down the side of his robe. Just another day of being a dueling captain.

"You know..." He'd say casually to the two girls left standing on the dueling stage. "...I would have done it. Finished you all off, I mean." Dmitri would then turn and give the Gryffindors a toothy (and vaguely threatening) grin. "Good thing you ended the duel just in time..."

And with that statement, the fifth-year would turn to exit the premises, humming a random tune all the way.
