Are we friend?

Clair liked the night, she liked the darkness, the knowledge she could learn under the cover of night was great.... Amazing really.
Tonight she was going to be reading a book about Dhampirs, something she found interesting, for reasons only she and a friend knew.
As she sat below a tree she felt like she was being watched, looking around she shrugged, it was only a feeling, maybe reading about Hags before breaking Curfew was a bad idea, maybe just a little.
Settling down she opened her book to the page she had left it on, and then she pulled out her wand, "Lumos" she muttered and her want light up, pointing it at her page she began to read, when she flipped the page it showed a photo of a dhampir jumping out with long fangs. It moved back and forth, this freaked Clair out, not due to the photo but more of the fact that it moved, photos in the muggle world never moved, ever. She sat there wondering what her muggle mother would think, when someone shouted BOO! In Clair's ear, now this just made Clair wonder why, who would try to do that? Shout boo in someone else's ear?
But she decided to have fun "Nox" she muttered, with a plan to give the girl who had attempted to scare her a little scare herself, she grinned "Incendio" moving her wand correctly and aiming it at a few sticks, the sticks light fire and Clair watched them, making sure they did not get out of hand.

12 January 2022, Night

"BOO!"

Victoria shouted and expected Clair to be scared, but that didn't happen. When the twig beside her started to burn, Victoria screamed and dropped her sketchbook into the water.

"Hey, you're a ravenclaw right? I'm Clair, Clair Fernandez"

Victoria gave Clair a playful look. "Clair, I already know you, I'm Victoria, remember?"

However, when Victoria saw her sketchbook floating in the water, she panicked. "Clair, you owe me a sketchbook!" Having said this, Victoria tried to reach for her notebook. It was already cold and Victoria did not want to fall into the water.

Victoria looked at her sketchbook. There were drawings in her notebook that she really liked, and Victoria didn't want to lose them like that. So she bent a little more. Just as her hand was about to touch her notebook, Victoria felt her body go cold. Victoria understood the bitter truth; FALL INTO WATER.

Victoria knew how to swim, but her attention was focused on searching for her notebook. As She tried to find her notebook, she realized she was running out of oxygen. He poked his nose and found his notebook in his hand. Victoria came out of the big lake, it was really cold and wet. And she gave Clair her notebook to keep. Victoria was freezing and all she wanted was hot chocolate.

Clair watched as Victoria dropped her notebook.
"I don't owe you anything, you dropped it, if you had not booed at me I would not have cast Indecio at that twig, so over all your the one who started the whole ordeal" she said with a matter of factly voice. Then the other ravenclaw either jumped or fell into the lake, did a note book really matter that much? You could die in that lake.
"don't go in-" she stopped she was going to say in there, but she was too late, the girl had gone in, "In there." She finished with a sigh, all the crazy things in the lake could easily eat Victoria, Clair stood up, She could try to help, but the girl might get mad at her for that too, so Clair watched, ready to help if the girl got any worse. When the girl came out she was wet and looked cold, when she handed Clair the wet notebook, Clair quickly moved her own book, so it would not get wet too. "I can dry this if you want." She held up the wet note book, "I will be a little wrinkled, but nothing else." She put her wand in her pocket along with picking up her book, "Want to get inside and warm up?"

Victoria nodded gratefully.

Victoria muttered in a low voice that Clair could hear. "Really, thank you, Clair. I'm sorry I tried to "scare" you." Victoria paused and continued in her trembling voice."I guess I won't be here for long after I fall into the lake." Victoria smiled as best she could and gently took the sketchbook from Clair's hand.

Victoria looked at the pictures inside. It hasn't changed because the ink has dried. Victoria sighed happily. Victoria glanced at the clock on her wrist. "CLAIR! It's really late! We'll be caught at 99%!" she said anxiously.

The wind blew Victoria shivered. He was really cold. Wait a minute, who doesn't feel cold after getting out of the lake? Victoria realized she was being silly and looked at Clair. Victoria muttered in her trembling voice. "We have to get in, trying not to get caught." Victoria picked up the bag she had left by the tree and put her sketchbook inside. "This can be difficult, I've heard calls are usually made at this time."

Victoria paused as she entered. "Clair, can I ask a question?"

Clair was surprised by the girl's mood swing, she seemed to be happier now.
"Aye, of course it's after curfew, that's part of the fun, the danger of lurking.... Prefects!" She decided not to say Hags, no need.
Clair shrugged at the girl's reply "We all make mistakes, but we learn, and that's what matters that we learn and fix our mistakes, that we are wiser then before." She smiled kindly at the raven claw girl, " Want some very good advice. Don't go into the water, there are many and things in there, including Mere-people, grindy-lows and a giant squid, believe me no book is worth your life even if it is very special, your life is worth more." With that the 12 year old girl aimed her wand at the twig -which was still burning- and cast the spell to kill the fire, the fire slowed, "what's your question?" She asked curiously, looking at the girl, "Which dorm are you in? And once your book is dry I'll leave it at your dorm, if that works for you" she shrugged again, "It's not hard to dry it, it just takes time, lots of time, as most things do it seems"

"What is your question?"
"Which dorm are you in? And when your book is dry, I'll leave it at the dorm, if it's okay with you."

Victoria smiled. "Are we friends now?" Victoria answered after asking Clair's question. "Actually, I'm not in dormitories for two people, I prefer shared dorms." Victoria sat on the stairs. "Thanks, Clair, for helping my book dry."

said Victoria with a beautiful smile. "And just so you know, I'm not stupid enough to go into the water at night." Victoria paused and continued. "I fell into the water, I didn't jump." Victoria chuckled. She hugged her robes tightly. “How long until the book is dry, it's getting really cold…” Victoria said, shivering.

Victoria looked at Clair, eyes wide when she saw a long shadow behind Clair. "Clair! I think we should go in now, they're coming." Before Victoria could say anything, she grabbed Clair's arm and led her inside. "We almost got caught, we got off cheap." whispered Victoria.

Victoria whispered in Clair's ear. "Which dorm are you in, we can drop you off first." Victoria took a deep breath and, waiting for an answer from Clair, she realized that her heart was beating fast from what had just happened. She took the wet hairpin from her arm and tied her wet hair.

Clair paused, "I would say so, yes." She said, this was a question that Clair was surprised by, it was not one that was asked often.
She smiled "No problem, I like helping" this was true she did like helping, helping was good, and if she helped everyone then everyone might help her. Should she need it one day.
Clair nodded, "yes, we should, i need to get to bed, and you need to warm up, or you might get sick!" She whispered, Clair smiled, "I can get there myself if you want to warm up"
She smiled, waved good bye and headed towards the Ravenclaw common room, as she walked up the steps she thought, she thought about every thing, Victoria, her book, how Victoria had fallen in the water, if she had gotten hurt it would have been Clair's fault. And Clair did not want that, she thought about her homework, how she had some due soon, maybe tomorrow she would finish it, and then she would dry Victoria's book and return it to her, in a good manner, and then she would read her own book, like she had hoped, soon Clair reached her dorm, started drying the book, and got ready for bed.
