The Cold Winter Day
It was a cold winter day but Gwendolyn had decided to go outside anyway. The grounds seemed like the only place that was calm out of this whole castle. There were kids everywhere and it got crowded quickly in the castle, but out here on the grounds, it was definitely less crowded. There was space so kids could disperse. Once she had reached the grounds, she pulled her cloak closer to her. It was cold, but Gwen did not care. As she walked around the grounds she could hear conversations of the other students.
"Did you hear about that fourth year?" one girl said to her group of friends with a small laugh,
"Oh yeah! I heard he got into so much trouble!" one of the other girls said before the group broke out into laughter. Gwendolyn sighed as she walked away from the group and went over to a part of the grounds that overlooked the Great Lake. Gwen really wanted to have friends like that. Friends that she could laugh with and gossip with. However, Gwendolyn felt like she was an outsider to the rest of the kids. She grew up in a group home her whole life while a lot of these kids grew up in a loving homes with families. Gwen didn't even know what her blood type was... Muggleborn...Half-blood...Pureblood. She didn't really understand what those terms meant, but she wanted to know. She sighed thinking about that as she leaned against the railing and looked out over the great lake with a small sigh

Victoria put on her coat and went outside in the cold air. Victoria loved the cold weather. She packed a few pens and sketchbooks in her bag before she left for Great Lake. Because she loved to paint, Victoria decided to draw the big lake.
"Have you heard of the fourth year?"
"Oh yes! I heard you're in a lot of trouble!"
Victoria looked at the group of laughing friends for a moment and then saw a really sad looking girl behind them. The girl looked lonely and seemed to be thinking about something. Victoria followed the girl, thinking that she should help the girl. Victoria felt in the pocket of her robe, found a box of chocolates - not to her surprise - she cut it in half.
Victoria soared in hopes of finding a new friend as she followed the blonde-haired girl. The girl, whom she knew by her robes to be from Ravenclaw, leaned against the railing, and Victoria hurried towards her. The Ravenclaw girl was deep in thought, so she didn't notice Victoria. Victoria coughed to show herself. "Hello! I'm Victoria, Victoria Honest! I'm in the same building as you!" Victoria paused. "I would love to be friends with you. What's your name?"

The Cold Winter Day
It was cold outside, as usual. Anna was quite bored. Everyone was enjoying the Warm Common Room, it's fire place specially, and chatting and all. She has many friends, obviously. But still, they are busy. And she is all left alone! She wanted to roam atleast, rather than watching the other students out from the window. She wore her Winter Cloak and went outside. It was cold, more colder than she has imagined. She saw others too. But she was more interested in the sad looking girl. Maybe Anna can help her? But before she can do so, another girl, which she guessed as a Ravenclaw, came running to the sad-looking girl. Quite natural, the girl started talking about something. Maybe Anna could join them? Or it will be rude to interfere? She couldn't decide, but wanted some friends to be her partners. She came up to them, whatever it meant and said, "Sorry to interrupt. But may I join you both too?"
She was polite, naturally. And that was good, it helped her a lot. She hoped they will agree. Afterwards, it didn't mattered if she was from Hufflepuff.
She waited for the reply, patiently.

Gwendolyn was snapped out of her thoughts by a girl's voice. She looked around before her eyes landed on a girl that looked about her age. This girl looked very familiar, but Gwen couldn't remember where she saw her. Most likely from one of her classes. "Victoria..." Gwen thought after Victoria told Gwen her name. It then came to her. Gwen did have a class with her. Gwen smiled gently at Victoria before saying, "It's nice to meet you Victoria. Gwendolyn Harmon" As Gwen was talking, she put her hands in her pockets, not wanting to shake anyone's hands. She didn't like touching people she didn't know. It was a safety issue for her.
She was about ready to turn back to the lake when she heard another's girl voice behind them. Gwen quickly turned around like she got scared. When she saw it looked like another girl their own age, Gwen's face returned to her semi-cold stare. Gwendolyn hated when people snuck up behind her. Or really any surprise in general. The cold bit at her cheeks as she pulled her jacket tighter around her. Autumn didn’t mind winter so much (the session, not sibling), but they had wandered outside underprepared, as now was doomed to shivering as they walked around the grounds of Hogwarts.
A surprising amount of students were out and about, chatting with friends and walking around.
Originally, Autumn had gone out with Spring, wanting to spend some time with their sibling; something that they hadn’t really been able to do since coming to the castle. However, their time had been cut short as Spring spotted some friends, apologizing to Autumn before leaving to join them.
Looking around for someplace to sit and read, they had thought ahead and grabbed a novel in case of this exact situation, they caught sight of a familiar raven-haired girl. Anna Washington, fellow Hufflepuff, and considered friend.
Smiling, they made their way over to them, stopping a bit away when they noticed the other two girls. One had blonde hair and seemed to be a Gryffindor, and the other was a brown-haired Ravenclaw. The three seemed to be conversing, and Autumn was about to turn away, not wanting to interrupt them.
Turning, they caught sight of Spring a ways away, almost completely hidden in a group of their won friends. Autumn faltered. Anna was her friend (she was pretty sure), and besides, she could always leave if they were doing something important.
Determination renewed, Autumn walked over to them, smiling slightly at Anna and waving at the others.

Victoria hugged her robes tightly, waiting for an answer from the girl she had just met. The weather was starting to get cold. He saw the girl he had just met put his hand on his robes and shrugged, thinking he had a germ phobia.
Victoria saw Anna coming towards them.
Victoria sent Anna a beautiful smile. Then she heard a voice behind her.
“Hello, I don’t think we’ve been introduced. I’m Autumn.”
“ I hope I’m not interrupting anything.”
Victoria replied with a smile. "Hello Autumn! You're not interrupting! I'm Victoria! I hope we get along well!" Victoria paused and looked at the others, Victoria popped a piece of chocolate into her mouth. "Would you like some chocolate?" she asked.
Victoria was happy to make new friends. But she saw that Gwendolyn looked a little sad. "Gwendolyn? Are you okay? If you have a problem, can you let me know?" Victoria asked in a calming voice.
"Agg! Why are these girls laughing at other people's shortcomings?"
Hearing the laughter behind her, she saw the same girl group gossiping again. Victoria asked, pointing to a group of girls she had seen trailing behind them. She grumbled and muttered, "They didn't shut up, I hope they never get their hands on my secret."

Gwendolyn had zoned out looking out at the lake as the other girls talked. It happened a lot and was a skill that Gwen picked up. She learned a lot from being really young.
"Gwendolyn? Are you ok?" Victoria said, making her come out of her thoughts
Gwen looked over at Victoria and smiled slightly and nodded. "Yes, I am alright, thank you" Gwen said as she pulled her robe closer to her. It was cold outside... maybe a little too cold for her liking. She turned away from the lake and faced the group. Immediately Gwen saw someone new had joined their little group
"Yay... more people," Gwen thought to herself as she leaned her back against the railing. As she was listening to everyone talk, she pulled out her little necklace from under her robe and said playing with it. The necklace wasn't anything special, it was just a small necklace with a small rose on it. She had this necklace for as long as she could remember, however, she did not know where or when she got it. She just always had it on.
"Gwendolyn? Are you ok?" Victoria said, making her come out of her thoughts

"Hey Victoria! It's you! I am really sorry, I didn't recognise you properly. But still, I remember you." Anna said, giving a friendly smile. She continued chatting with them.
After a while, someone said, "Hello, I don't think we have been introduced. I am Autumn."
Anna turned back and saw it, it was no doubt that it was Autumn!
Autumn said again, "I hope I'm not interrupting anything."
Anna replied, "Not at all! Knew you from the first. Um- remembering quite well that we met in the Abandoned Toilets first, right?" Anna guessed, it was quite right in her opinion.
They continued chatting. She got totally dissolved in the chat, not noticing anyone else. That was the point which Anna hated the most. Then suddenly, or you may say, hopefully, she remembered the girl. Anna looked at her and noticed that she was playing with a beautiful looking necklace.
"Hey! I see, you are bored. The necklace is quite pretty. By the way, I am Anna. You may call me Ani. My sisters do prefer to say me like that. I never mind. And yes, yourself?" Anna asked, joyfully. Trying to entertain the girl.

Gwen was completely silent as she listened to the group chat away. However, she wasn't really listening to what they were talking about. She just knew they were talking. From the pars of the conversation she managed to pick up, she understood that all of them seemed to know each other. Gwen seemed like the only person that no one seemed to know. Maybe she didn't belong here... With this group of people.
Gwendolyn was deep into thought just thinking about stuff when she heard some talking to her,
"Hey! I see you are bored. The necklace is quite pretty. By the way, I am Anna. You may call me Ani. My sisters do prefer to say me like that. I never mind. And yes, yourself?". Anna said to her making her look up and toward the girl.

Victoria turned to Gwendolyn. "Gwendolyn, I think you're new. You might feel useless here, believe me, that's how I felt at first too." Victoria continued, hoping that she understood her feelings. "But we can be friends if you want! It seems like everyone has friends at Hogwarts. I would love to be friends with you?" Victoria asked with a slight smile.
Having said that, Victoria handed him a piece of chocolate, "Would you like this?" Victoria handed the chocolate to Gwendolyn and continued. "Your name is really long, can I call you Gwen?" After Victoria asked, she hugged her robes tightly. "It's getting really cold." murmured Victoria.
She looked down, waiting for an answer from Gwendolyn. The big lake looked really nice. She straightened her hair and took out her sketchbook from her bag. While listening to the girls, she drew a sketch of the great lake. Then she whispered to Gwen. "Believe me, Gwen, at first everyone was laughing with someone and I wanted a group of friends like that too. I guess now you do, you don't have to feel like you don't belong here." Victoria said with a friendly smile.
