Faye decides to send a letter to Scotland to at least let her family know she made it there safely. She decides to write the letter in the owlry since it seems much more peaceful here and she doesn't have to worry about letting her emotions flow as she decided to go to the top part even though it still has ice on the floor. A grey owl with specks of brown and white perches on her shoulder. The lightweight of it makes her smile as she classifies it, Why hello there you sweet little elf owl, How are you this evening The birds high pitched hoots can be heard throughout the owlry as most of the others had left for food for the evening. Faye realizing the owl wasn't gong to leave her side she pull out a piece of bread from dinner and gives it to the owl. He hoots at her thankfully as she works on writing her letter. A few minutes pass by and the owl in done with the bread as Faye finishes her letter to her parents and siblings. Can you fly little birdy? She whispers to him. He flaps his wings and sticks is leg out for her to put the letter on. She giggles and ties the letter to his ankle. Pitlochry Scotland little elf just dont fly to hard.

Sophie sprinted up the stairs of the West Tower. Her satchel lay on her side, bumping as she ran up each step. A loud clunk could be heard from the bag, though it seemed nothing was inside. Or if something was indeed inside, it was small enough to make the bag appear quite empty.
Sophie threw open the door to the Owlery, Inside were a few owls, some were eating still, others were flying around, and then there was the rest of the owls sleeping, or just staring. Sophie walked over to a small table near the windows. She was completely oblivious to the girl nearby.
She scribbled the ending to a very long letter. The letter was quite difficult to fold, as it was so long. But in the end, Sophie got the parchment to fold correctly.
Opening her bag, Sophie brought out a small bag. It looked like little heart-shaped cookies. The smell from the bag was quite sweet as well. Sophie ripped open the bag and walked towards a very large owl.
The owl was snowy, pale white, this was an exception, as its wings were coloured with thousands of midnight black markings. Even the owls talons were black.
But it wasn't the wings, or the talons that made the owl so special, it was the eyes. The owls eyes were piercing pale blue. It reminded one of a very fresh and pale ocean. Perhaps that was why Sophie loved the owl so much.
It was the memory of the sea-blue ocean, and the pale grainy sand, that made the young Gryffindor love the beach. Feeling the cool water, and hot sun was the most wonderful feeling in the world. Or even just sitting and hearing the waves, and the laughing children was a good feeling. Sophie hadn't been to the beach in years. Maybe in her next break she could ask her parents to take her?
Shrugging a bit, Sophie handed the owl a few treats, and the owl gulped them down gratefully.
"Hey there Kiyoko, wanna deliver a letter for me?" Sophie requested of the owl. The owl stuck out her long leg, and Sophie tied the letter to it. "Bring it to Auntie Aurora, if you can find her.. She's still looking for dragons and hippogriffs!" A smile appeared on the girls face, as the owl nipped the girls finger affectionately. Sophie heard shuffling nearby, and whipped her head around to see what had caused the noise.
Seeing a girl Sophie had seen in the halls and corridors, but never had the chance to meet, Sophie stared inquisitively.
"Hi! I'm Sophie Murphy of Gryffindor!" Cheered the girl, grinning all-the-while.

Faye hears someone come in, but she was to busy naming off the different species of owls in her head as the girl finished her letter. She notices another little elf owl sitting on a perch getting sleepy. She smiles and rubs his head. "Hi! I'm Sophie Murphy of Gryffindor!" Faye suddenly hears. Jumping up from being startled she looks at the smiling gryffindor. "Oh um hi Sophie. I'm Faye (pronounced fay-uh) from Ravenclaw. How are you this evening? Faye states. Feeling a little conscious about her curly hair being a wind blown mess she tries to fix it quickly so the girl doesn't question it. Faye reaches in her bag and pulls out two brownies and two sealed cups of butter beer. Would you like one of each? My mother and father will send me treats like this all the time so i dont mind sharing." Faye blushes as meeting new people isn't her forte. Neither is studying but we can't all be choosers she thinks. She sets the Brownies and drinks down on a flat clean surface before gripping her robe trying to ease her nerves. She shifts back and forth on her feet trying to think of what to say next.

Sophie walked over to where Faye had been sitting and sits opposite of her. Shrugging to Faye's question, as Sophie had just previously snuck to the kitchens with a couple of Gryffindors to steal some food. Of course, the young Gryffindors never got caught. Why would they? They were sneaky and small, and had dark robes to cover themselves if anyone caught them.
And besides, its not like they were doing anything... wrong, The elves can't wait to get to work anyway! But it was precisely why her mother hated house-elves being enslaved and such. Sophie's father never really cared, but due to her mother's anger at him, he gave his house-elf to a friend, and Sophie hadn't seen that friend for years. She wondered if his girl went to Hogwarts, or was still there?
"My dad never sends me things, well, except owl treats, its always my mum who does it, she would go to America and back just to buy me something only available there. She used to be from there, but her parents died, and her god-parents lived here, so she moved here. And she started Hogwarts in her third year and everything! It was really depressing to hear the story, but, hey, life goes on right?"

Hailey sprinted up the stairs to the top of the Owlery.
Dad once told me you could borrow owls that belonged to the school to send letters. I wonder if it's still true?
She waited for the rush if pain that she usually felt when the thought about her father, but this time... it didn't come.
Huh, that's weird. She reached the top of the tower and whipped inside the door.
The air was suddenly filled with the hoots, screeches and calls of many birds as she stumbled around, trying to find a corner where she could sit and write without being covered in droppings. She finally found a window where she could tuck herself into the arch and not feel uncomfortable, and then began to write:
Dear Jess,
Hogwarts is amazing! I got sorted into Ravenclaw, which is pretty much books this and wisdom that. I just wanted to let you know I miss you so much and I can't wait for you to share this amazing experience with me next year.
For one thing, I met the Ravenclaw Head of House. His name is Sergei Yornikovych, and he's the transfiguration Professor. I know, I know, I hate transfiguration, but he's an interesting man!
I know you're trying to read this as fast as possible, so you can go back to texting your muggle friends, but I want you to know that I really care about you, you know? One day you're going to stop brushing me off, I can feel it.
All my love and best wishes,
Hails
P.S: Show this letter to Mum
She breathed through her nose, and slipped out of the arch to look up at the owls roosting above her.
"Uh, hello?" A handsome Screech Owl opened one eye and looked at her lazily, then closed it again. She imagined Jess sniggering. Talking to owls. All the books she reads, and she's still an idiot!
"Can one of you help me? I need this to go to London." This time, the Screech lifted his huge wings and soared down, gently landing on her arm and staring at her expectantly with his left leg slightly raised.
"Thank you." She mumbled to it as she fixed the letter to it with a piece of string. He hooted, and then lifted his wings again and soared out the window.

Sophie heard the door open yet again. As loud as it was, it was impossible not to hear, and besides, new people always led to some kind of destiny. Unknown or known, it didn't really matter, people were put In specific places for a reason.
Sophie whipped around and saw a girl. By her robes, Sophie knew the girl was in Ravenclaw with Faye. So the girls probably knew each other. But this didn't shake Sophie off, in fact, it did the opposite. It gave her a reason to make this new girl her friend.
"Hi! I'm Sophie Murphy, of Gryffindor." Sophie prompted, standing up and walking to the Ravenclaw girl. The handsome screech owl that the girl had been tying her letter to, hooting at Sophie, before taking off.
"Thank you." Sophie heard the girl mumble. Sophie grinned a bit. Owls and animals were her thing, she truly enjoyed the presence of an animal, whether than a human.
It was always a saying her mother had said. 'Daremoga hanashimasuga, dare mo kiite imasen. Watashi no amai shōjo.' Sophie's mother spoke a variety of languages, from English, to ancient Latin. It was the kind of thing Sophie wanted to take up, but she never could, as she had so much trouble speaking English.

I'm just going to try coloured speech, so you might find that some posts will be coloured and some won't.
She whipped around, surprised that another person was in the Owlery so early in the morning.
"Hi! I'm Hailey, Hailey Jackson. You can call me Hails." She paused for a moment, and then realised that this sounded a bit demanding. "That is, if you want." She added shyly.
She shifted forward and held her hand out. "I see you're in Gryffindor." She mumbled, gesturing to Sophie's robes, which inside were lined in red trimming. "It's nice to meet you."
She smiled and stared out the open window where the Screech had disappeared. "Sending a letter to my family, you know." She continued. "They probably wouldn't care, but I'm only nice to them because I had to leave my pet cat with my sister and mom, they couldn't afford a travelling basket for her." She pulled out a picture from her coat pocket and offered it to the girl. "Her name's Misty."

She smiled sadly and then took the photo back. "I miss her so much." She tucked the photo back into her pocket, making sure it was secured.
"Anyway, why were you here?"
