It's time to wake up...

Brown eyes snapped open, fingers clawing at the sheet in an attempt to escape. Her mind was not quite yet awake, only the self preservation of fight, flight, or freeze. It was challenging to tell which of the first two motivated her actions until finally the covers were off, glancing around the some source that would provide answers.

Where was she? What had happened? Why was she here?

Finally, her mind woke up. Duelling- unconscious- again. The hospital wing- everything too pristine- blinding. Twice before had she woken up here, all for the same reasons of hoping to excel in a sport where the chances of winning for her seemed slim. The girl curled in on herself, gazing at the end of the bed as she sat by the pillow.

She had gotten a couple of good hits, at least. How were the others doing now? They were fine, probably, but it made sense to check. No hard feelings, right? The hufflepuff would slowly inch to the edge of her bed before pulling the privacy curtains to see the rest of the infirmary. Now where would others be? What the second year didn't know was that someone else had also decided to look for the others in their duel.

Stepping foot insude the hospital wing sent a chill down his spine. Eyes gazing around the one place he dreaded, it was a wonder why the third year woukd return to that place.

Henry went their earlier to heal the burns from his duel, a bit sadden that he wasn't able to watch the end of Santario's duel with his captain and parther. However, while he was there the teen remembered the two hufflepuff's from his own duel. The two that got knocked unconscious. Henry figured it would be the right thing to do, comr by later and ask about their well-being.

Arriving a bit later this time with Loki at his heels and his pockets filled with classic hogsmade chocolate bars for the two girls. The teen gazed around, looking for Alexa Mackenzie. His girlfriend. His heart still ached about dueling her. About aiming his wand and casting spells at her.

Walking through the wing, the teen looked about. He couldn't seem to spot the red head. Feeling Loki lean aginest him, the third year was about to leave when he spotted Alexa's parther. Lea Hirsch. She was the youngest one in his duel.

Henry approached her bed, standing at the end as Loki jumped and crawl up to his onwer's right shoulder. Where the feline sat. Henry looked at the girl, emtions hidden behind the 'barrier' except for his blue eyes. They held concern within them for Lea. The teen watched as she woke up, softly smiling at her as he spoke"uh hello," not sure what to say or if the girl would even want him there as he held his hands on the railing at the end of the bed.

"How are you feeling?"

The hufflepuff would spot the cat first.

Then the person besides the cat, seeing the face of the Slytherin she had just fought, seeming better than Lea had last seen him considering he didn't appear to be on fire. Brown eyes would simply stare for a moment, having expected to see someone else first. Like Alexa, or some other hufflepuffs on the team. Having said that, they might have still been duelling or were getting treatment themselves.

"... Hi." How long had he been there? Hands would reach up to rub her eyes, mouth curled into a grimace before returning to a more neutral expression. "Uh- not great considering I was knocked unconscious? But I'm not in pain anymore, i- if that's what you mean." There was some aggression in her voice, but it was meant for her rather than the visitor. Her mind was still a little groggy, and in the hopes of not angering someone who had played a sport fairly, the girl would quietly add, "you guys did really well." Brown eyes watched the end of the bed.

A couple more moments would pass before Lea's mind caught up a little more, glancing back over to Henry. "How- how are you feeling? Being on fire does- n't sound like the most... pleasant... experience." Yes, that was mainly her fault- but she didn't feel like apologizing. It had been a part of the sport, just like the lightning and knockback.

The teen expected there to be awkwardness. He wasn't completely sure why he apporched the hufflepuff or started speaking to her. Mind dwelling that the girl might not even want to see him, he did knock her unconscious merr hours ago.

Staying at the end of the bed, Loki on his right shoulder. Tail flickering and amber eyes set agaze for the hufflepuff. The teen nodded toward her words, brushing a few strands of hair back as he spoke"that's good, uh I'm glad your feeling better or uh not in pain anymore," the teen felr thr awkwardness around as his anxiety raged forming a storm cloud over his mind. Thinking that he shoild have stayed silent as he watched the girl, slipping his hands i to his jacket pockets when he remembered. The chocolate.

"You mates did brilliant as well, smashing strategy," Henry replied and meant that he said. Their strategy was rather good and for a moment, actually a couple moments during the duel believed that he would lose or get knock unconscious at the very least.

The teen nodded toward her words, the memory of the fire and burns coming back to him. It didn't bother him as much now since going to the hospital wing earlier to get burn cream for them. The third year nodded toward the girl as he spoke"oh yeah- right, uh the burns and fire. Uh I- I came earlier to get then treated and now feel fine or- well their not bothering me anymore." The teen wasn't sure what else to say, he didn't want to say much since his injuries were simple and didn't require him to lay in a hospital bed. Unlike the hufflepuff.

Remembering the sweets, the teen reached into his pocket and pulled out two classic hogsmeade chocolate bars. Handing both to Lea as he spoke"here just something to say that you were brilliant and a amazing duelist." The teen softly smiled as he offered her the chocolate tjen tried for a joke as he playfully laughed, "also to say sorry for knocking you on your butts." The teen then instantly regretted that comment and stopped laughing.

"Thank you." It was good that he didn't harbor any ill wishes towards her, although had he, she would have been rather upset. Just a general expectation that still deserved some words- much like saying 'you're welcome' after 'thank you' and other things like that.

"Oh, thanks. It was a lot of improv. And focusing on trying to hit you- sorry." Really, she didn't need to apologize as it was part of the strategy, but saying it straight to his face was a little harsh. Still, it was a typical strategy as two versus one was typically easier than two versus two. "Is it a secret, or can I ask what your strategy was?" Brown eyes would glance up, an eyebrow raising before she looked away.

She would nod as he spoke of his treatment. Burns and fire were surprisingly recurrent at Hogwarts, so Lea suspected they would either have a ton of supplies or none at all. "That's good. Wouldn't want to hurt someone after the duel." That wasn't the meaning of the duel- it was about proof of skill and a way to practice, at least to the hufflepuff. As time went on, her motives shifted more towards proving herself rather than proving her skill, but the central focus had yet to fully change.

Her eyes would go wide at the chocolate bars, slowly reaching her hand out to grab them. Apparently chocolate was the way to get the fog out of her mind as she continued to looking at them in her hands before looking up to Henry. "I- thank you. You were an amazing duellist as well- but I- I don't have anything to give in return." Certainly he would understand given her just waking up, but the hufflepuff felt bad- as though the gift shouldn't be accepted. But her interest in chocolate overruled that notion, instead deciding that she could get him something later. More focus on the bars in hand, Lea wouldn't really focus on his words.

"It's fine- this is a great apology gift," she replied, a hesitant smile creeping across her face as she looked over to Henry.

Henry nodded toward rhe hufflepuff's words. The situation definitely seemed awkward or perhaps tense with little words exchanged. The third year felt Loki nibble at his ear tip, a distraction thay reminded the teent to breath and focus on another topic that isn't his anxiety or worries.

"It was a good strategy and no apologies needed," Henry replied with a soft smile then remembered Bridget's words to him at the start of their duel as he spoke"it was only a duel, a sport like quidditch that doesn't determine friendships or relationships. Yes, we dueled but that doesn't mean we can't be friends," the teen smiled softly at Lea. Meaning the words that he just stated. He would like to become the girl's friend but wasn't sure if she harbored any ill wishes after their duel or wanted to be friends even.

The teen felt his fingers fidgeting aginest each other at her question of strategy. The teen flickered his eyes around the hospital wing, looking to ensure his captains weren't present before his bkue gazed locked on Lea as he spoke"it was a mix of offensive and defensive, that's all I can really tell you since the captains like to keep the Viper strategy hidden," the teen felt guilty that he couldn't answer her question but also didn't want to go aginest his captains. He knew that he isn't suppose to he talking about the Viridian Vipers strategy with non Vipers so the situation only grew in awkwardness.

The teen nodded toward the hufflepuff's words. He was in agreement with her, he couldn't imagine hurting another while not in a official or pratice duel. There are times that the lad feels like a monster if he injured someone then thise thoughts would inly become more prominent. He would confirm that little voice in his head.

The teen handed the girl the chocolate, not minding giving it to her since he always had it on him for others. Plus he isn't the biggest chocolate or really sweet person out there. Listening to Lea's words, the teen quickly jumped in as he spoke"You don't have to give me anything, I had some extra and thought you mates would enjoy it. Really it isn't anything or much," the teen softlt smiled at the girl the chuckled a little at her mention of a 'apology gift' having a feeling that won't be going away anytime soon.
