Study Friend Closed

Phoenix had been avoiding her homework for the past couple of days. She loved learning and writing but for some reason, it wasn't as fun when you were told to do it.

This morning when she woke up, she was surprisingly energized. This was the perfect opportunity to be productive and get stuff done. She was about to take a piece of parchment onto which she had already started a story when she spotted her pile of homework. She sighed as she weighed the options out. The due date is coming up soon and I still have a lot to do. I would much rather write about something else than Imps though. After awhile, she settled for the wiser option.

She was about to walk towards the library when she changed her mind. She headed out to the Study room instead. She walked inside with a bright smile. 'Fake it till you make it' her mother always said. She looked around and spotted many people in groups. Maybe I should have brought a friend. She looked around and spotted one girl who was sitting alone. She walked up to her table and sat at the other end. What a great chance of making new friends then. No. Yes. No. Yes. OKAY. Her inner thoughts fought. She kept looking up at her and then pretended to write. Looking up, then down at her paper again. Finally, she couldn't hold it in anymore. She laughed. It was small and more like a giggle. She found it ridiculous that she couldn't simply just say hi to this girl and that instead she had to play a game of 'stare without making eye contact'. When she finally made eye contact with the girl she gave her a sheepish smile.

Being careful not to look at the groups around her, Victoria took another wad from her bag, refilled her ink, and prepared to write a long piece. She took a sip of her coffee and took a piece of biscuit. She leaned back and closed her eyes. She needed some rest, but she had homework until tomorrow.Victoria sighed uneasily and opened her sketchbook and scribbled something down. She was doing this to lift her spirits, Mostly it worked.

Victoria went back to her homework. After a while, he was distracted by a rustle. She looked across the table and saw a really beautiful girl with hazel eyes and brown hair. She smiled faintly and she tried to focus on her homework again.

She glanced at the girl in front of her from time to time and averted her eyes. She felt that she had done the same to her daughter. When they finally made eye contact with the girl, she flashed her a embarrassed smile.

Victoria gave a big smile. “Time to make new friends,” she thought, and her smile widened at the thought. "No, it's my fault too, I was looking at you too. I'm sorry too." After Victoria said it, she continued. "My name is Victoria, you probably saw me for the first time." Victoria chuckled. "What is your name?"
