"Yea, yea, let's move," he said, getting up from the step as well and standing. The blonde with him said that she believed him but he really wasn't sure that she did. While Simon wanted to believe his new friend, he just got this feeling that perhaps she was just trying to appease him. Maybe it was better that way. Still, if she didn't believe him that made him out to the liar in her eyes.

"So still looking for that uh...secret passage, yes?" he asked, taking a step closer to her and then leaning in some so he could whisper it. Granted, there weren't many in the corridors but still, some things were meant to be secret and not common knowledge to all and obviously, SECRET passages were one of them. "I found this one last year from an older student. I was in the room and she just came bursting through a frame and startled me to no end," Simon explained, smiling as he recalled the memory.

"Surprised she didn't give me a right heart attack right then and there. I have to admit...I shamefully haven't gone in to see where it leads yet." Every time he thought about doing so, something else popped up - like studying for an exam, an extra homework assignment, a question about something else that popped into his mind that he wanted to research at the library. Maybe today needed to be the day...that is, if Vivian wanted to join.

“Of course, I am still looking for that” the blonde whispered back with a bright smile, her eyes sparkled with curiosity and she couldn’t wait to know where it would lead to. Simon didn’t inform her yet on where they would reach when they get inside it, did he? As far as she remembers, he said he knows a secret passage. Or was she day dreaming when he did? She believes no.

When Simon started to explain how he found the passage, Vivian nodded her head until he finished and her mind was fully focused thinking that it was a piece of information but it was his story. Widening her eyes “So, are we going walk inside a frame? Wow!” she whispered back still smiling. It looked like she was right, Simon didn’t say about this before.

With a chuckle “Fine but now you got the chance... and also a company” she pointed her hands at herself. The blonde didn’t know why Simon haven’t checked it out earlier, if it was her she would probably enter that instant with or without anyone else. From what Simon has said, it didn’t sound like a dangerous thing. And it was fun to know something that most of them didn’t. “okay, let’s go, shall we?” she rubbed her hands and intertwined it and waited for Simon to lead the way.

He was going to say ladies first, but when one was walking into an unknown and dark place, maybe that wasn't the best idea. Not that he didn't feel Vivian was capable of defending herself if so needed, but he knew that it was wise for him to take the lead for many reasons, all centered around he being a dhampir.

His eyes would dilate, as would hers, but his much larger. He would be able to see more in the low lighting. That, and if they happened upon anything odd, he had more strength and speed to be able to come against it. Happened upon anything odd? It wasn't like anything bad was going to be in there!

"Alright, follow me," he said, as they stepped inside. It was dark. Darker than dark sort of dark. Simon pulled out his wand and pointed it ahead, "Lumos" he stated and the area was now not so dark. It was a small space, but still almost nearly the size of a small hallway in a household. Nothing one would get claustrophobic over. He was glad that they were only seeing the stone walls of the castle as well, not any sort of rats or spiders or bugs.

"So where's your guess on where this leads?" he asked her. "I'm thinking just some other remote area of the castle. More like a shortcut. But something tells me if we look around wherever this one drops off, we'll find another. Isn't that usually how secret passages work? They're like a network of them."

The blonde tread in behind Simon as he got in. The total darkness covered her eyes which made her lumber but right before she could fall or hit her head somewhere, Simon cast Lumos. The light from out of one wand didn't turn out to be sufficing the girl. Plucking out her wand, she spelt out, "Lumos" and instantly it was comparatively less dim. The girl was so entertained by the echo of her own voice that she couldn't keep herself from uttering random words, "Sand! dozen! map! colour! cape! lipstick! Oh that's cool-" she giggled, well, probably that would've annoyed Simon but she likes echo sounds and couldn't control it"- No one can hear me, right?... except you, of course", and equably listened to her feet tapping against the floor.

"I have no idea on where this path would take us but I think wherever it leads, it would be comparatively short from normal and apart from that, it would be a safe place for secret conversation, don't you think?", well, she didn't have any considerable secret except this one. the second point of her wouldn't be applicable to herself. Nodding with a smile, "Now I hope it would take us to a remote area" as she listened to Simon's assumption. The path was pretty spacious at the start and it was comfortable to walk beside Simon. But! The further they walked, the path started to shrink eventually forcing her to bend her neck.

This was the first time that Simon actually had explored this much. Usually by the time he remembered about this secret passageway, other things came up - assignments with close due dates, a question about magic that he needed an immediate answer to, or curfew. He was excited to finally be exploring further into the entrance only it was very hard to see, even with both of their casted Lumos spells and his larger pupils. Still, it guided them only one way so that way they went. Simon led, Vivian followed.

She stayed close and Simon was grateful for that. Not only did it help him realize that they were both okay and free from harm, but it also helped with the lighting. While Simon had never been to a cave and gone caving, he imagined that this would be similar to what it would be like, as the ceiling seemed to get lower and the passage-space more narrow.

Then he stopped quickly, causing Vivian to sort of stumble into him. "Sorry," he whispered. He turned around to face her and paused moment to smile at their closeness. Two people couldn't practically get any closer than these two were. He could clearly see her blue eyes and the blonde of her hair lit up to a golden as it framed around her face. "I uh," he paused, trying to remember what he was going to say.

"It splits off here. We can't go forward, only right or left."

Is this really a short cut? she wasn't sure, it can be taken for any secret purposes for sure. Squinting her eyes, she walked close behind Simon not because she was afraid, it's just because she wasn't bothered by him walking in front... till now. After a few moments, she couldn't view anything other than the backside of Simon's shirt and eventually lowered her head in vexation but still held the wand for light. Suddenly, her head hit somewhere, no someone, she realised it was Simon, "No, my mistake, sorry" she whispered back. The blonde lifted her head to look at Simon as he turned around.

Whoa! they were too close than she expected but unusually she didn't feel like moving back. She had never been this close to any other person before especially on their very first meet. Her heartbeat quickened but she didn't let her nervousness be visible. Expecting Simon to continue what he was about to say, she flickered her eyebrows at him. A decision making time! That was tough for this girl, "Ah Ip dip do, cat got the flu, chicken got the chicken pox and out goes you" Counting out rhymes was a better choice "It says right... and more importantly, can I go front? you're so so so taller than me, I couldn't see anything other than you but even if you come after me, you can still be able to view what's in front, right? so... can I?" she shrugged.

"Alright, you can go first...just don't get yourself killed. That would make things much more complicated," Simon said and he squeezed to the left passageway so that she could bring herself to the front of their small little line of two. After doing so, he headed toward the right since that's where they had decided to go. "I'm starting to think this isn't so much a shortcut," as they were there for a somewhat long period of time, "but just another way of getting somewhere perhaps. Maybe on one of the particularly crowded moments it could be a shortcut," he said.

The two would soon find themselves heading up some stairs. Wait! Up some stairs? Now this was getting a little crazy. Still, he was eager to see where they would end up. Right now they were just met with darkness, illuminated only by the lumos at the end of their wands and that caused his eyes to hurt but he wouldn't mention anything. It wasn't as if they had much of a choice.

He remained close without trying to be TOO close but he did worry about her being in front. After all, they've had hag attacks and everything around these parts. And if one would listen to the Hogwarts Headliner, then one had to worry about things like dhampirs too.... Simon shook his head at the thought, causing a bit of her hair to brush against his face. "Your hair smells amazing," he whispered to her, hoping that wouldn't seem awkward. It was a compliment!

"Why would-" she stared icily at him. What does he mean? Did he have a feeling of protecting her all this time? All along the blonde supposed he just liked walking in front. Why would she need his protection? moreover, they both are of the same age. As he moved to give her space to go first, "Thanks but you know, sorry in advance if I kill myself and make things much more complicated for you" rolling her eyes, she stomped towards the right pathway. "I think the same and also for secret meeting place, plus I want to know what's there in the left path... maybe next time we'll find out, what d'you say?... of course, only if I didn't get killed" as she squinted her eyes to see what's ahead of them.

"Stairs again?! this is the longest short cut I've ever seen" grunting, she stumbled a little as she scrabbled up but managed as her hand reached for the handrail at the right time. Lazily "How long should we go?" as she huffed and puffed for breath. Probably he wouldn't know the answer but couldn't control the urge to ask tho they both are clueless. Suddenly her eyes widened and her face turned crimson at Simon's... compliment? she stopped barely a second but just continued forward as though it's said to someone else. Thank you would sound awkward and uncomfortable to herself and she's afraid if any other reply would sound rude.

As they both climbed up, there was a door on the other end of the area. "I don't know if I am going to use this path in the future", she sighed and walked forward, "let's go"

"I'm definitely taking it sometime. Hello, more stairs," he said. "Come on, we can do this," he encouraged and began behind Vivian as they continued on. This was getting a little bit tiring though, he had to admit. Was the castle just messing with them or was there something at the end of this weird path?

Past this it opened back up to a regular sort of area with a door. Simon would encourage her to continue and once through it, it would reveal the Fifth Floor Corridor. Interesting enough, how they came from one side to end up there but he thought it was pretty cool. If there were twists and turns like this there, what else was within the castle walls?

"Hey, sometimes you can find something rather amazing in the unknown," he said to her. He smiled to Vivian, not entirely sure if she had a good time but he had enjoyed himself. "I think I'll head back to the Common Room, maybe play a little guitar for awhile before taking in some classwork. You heading back that way as well?" They could walk together if so. - The regular way, not this crazy winding sort of secret passageway.

The Hufflepuff looked up at him with a gentle smile. The girl liked what he said. But she couldn't empathise. Her expectation was high in this situation and it wasn't an amazing pathway. Tho she already knew she'll be disappointed with wherever it takes them. On the other hand, she made a new friend and he appeared to be really good person. Well, the compliment creeped her out in the darkness but other than that, he talked as though going first would kill herself but other than all these, she had no problem with him.

"mm no,-" she half shrugged. With a smile"- I am going to look out for my friend... Probably heading to the library or would walk around the whole Castle, in search of her" her voice faded with a chuckle. The Ravenclaw would probably be in the library as far as she knows and this girl is not sure whether to share this path with her or not. Simon said her not to. But he wouldn't know if she break the promise, would he? Kind of a mixed feeling. She hasn't hidden anything from Sam. Maybe she'll think for two more days on whether to share or not. "And I wish I'll soon listen to you playing the guitar if not today, bye" the blonde waved as her face stretched into a smile before parting away from Simon.
