Sorting Ceremony
Simon rested his head on the table, watching the other first years be sorted into Houses. Most of them looked like they were about to throw up at any moment, which he hoped did not happen. He had a slight fear of watching people throw up or bleed or anything of that sort.
Simon did not have a favorite House, but he knew that he did not want to be in Slytherin or Hufflepuff. All the annoying people were in Slytherin, and he did not want to deal with that for the rest of his time at Hogwarts. He remembered a time where his mother introduced him to a wizard in his 3rd year in Hogwarts. He was extremely annoying, and also happened to be in Slytherin. And he had seen the table. They all gave him ‘annoying!’ vibes.
As for Hufflepuff, it just did not fit him. They weren't some softie like the people there- and if he got stuck there, that would be the most embarrassing moment of his life..
Simon closed his eyes, and what felt like a second after he closed them, someone yelled his name loudly. He jolted upward, hitting his knees on the bench.
"Corbin, Simon!"
After much difficulty, Simon stood up, glad that his last name started with a C so he was one of the earlier ones to go. He confidently walked up to the stool with the Sorting Hat and plopped it onto his head. As soon as he put the hat on his head, it started talking straight in his ear. He flinched and kept a tight grip on the hat in case it began to yell in his ear..
"Hmm... I see... brave, a load of confidence. Bold. Pretty smart too, A great leader, hardworking. Oh, this is an easy decision..."
Gryffindor! it bellowed so loudly that Simon fell off the stool, He heard some faint giggles from the crowd, and he smiled, though he felt a tad embarrassed. He jokingly blew kisses into the crowd anyways until the teacher there prompted him to sit down.
Simon sat down at the Gryffindor table, looking around at the people there, who, as expected, were around a foot or two taller than he was. That wasn't a problem, though. He put on his friendliest smile and introduced himself to them.
"My name's Simon! I'm really glad to be here," he beamed.

Sorting Ceremony
He was walking into the great hall, looking around when coming into the room. Looking up at the enchanted ceiling completely transfixed by it. Seeing it looks like the sky outside finding that to be cool and very fascinating. His attention being diverted to the sorting hat when he hears it speaking saying some sort of rhyme. Hearing it calling out others houses when others were called until his name was called. Nervously going up to the stool when his name is called his legs suddenly feeling like they had turned into jelly, his stomach feeling like a bunch of knots all of a sudden. Sitting up on the stool while the hat was placed on his head. Listening to it talking in his ears listening to all it was saying to him. Hearing what it was deciding when it suddenly yelled out "HUFFLEPUFF!" He was pleased and relieved since his parents were both Hufflepuffs and he was sure he would also be one. Getting off the stool after he was announced in the house.
Making his way over to the Hufflepuff table introducing himself to his fellow Hufflepuffs after he sat down "hello I am Clifford, nice to meet you." he smiles in a friendly way at the others he meets, being always very friendly with others. Wanting to make friends, hoping he will make some since he hadn't yet made any in his life though he had met a few other children in his neighborhood he lived at. He was determined to meet and make friends even if they are from Hufflepuff or from other houses he doesn't care if they were from Ravenclaw, Gryffindor, or even Slytherin. Though he had heard some things about Slytherin that weren't very good he wasn't going to judge them harshly until he got to know any of them.
He was enjoying himself while trying to talk to others around him, waiting for the ceremony to end since he was getting hungry wanting to eat. Waiting for the feast to begin but he was being patient with it, he was still anxious for it to start. Looking around wondering what foods will be present at the feast. Hoping they have ham since he loves ham a lot it being his favorite food other than chicken.

Hope walked through the doors to the Great Hall. As she passed headmaster Solomon Lear, her stomach turned in a bit of a nervous knot. She nodded politely in his direction before shuffling forward into the room. With that, her jaw dropped.
Candles floated above her, lighting up the rest of the hall that was simply decorated for the ceremony. I want one of those she thought to herself as she looked up. The smells of all sorts of foods wafted up to her nose. Platters of every dish she could ever dream of was laid out on the four long tables. Her stomach growled, reminding her that she hadn't eaten since breakfast that morning.
Gathering with all the other First Year students, she listened intently as the headmaster made his speech and the sorting hat sang its unusual song. She internally groaned when the roll of parchment listing everyone's names rolled to the floor and down a few steps. This is gonna take forever.
Thankfully, because her last name started with the letter D, it wasn't long before her name was called out. "Hope Dove!"
Hope walked up the steps and took a seat on the little stool in front of the audience. She sighed nervously. This is it...I wonder where I'll go.
The hat was then placed on her head. Please be Hufflepuff, please be Hufflepuff she thought to herself as she tightly shut her eyes. She had heard about the loyalty that Hufflepuffs carried within themselves, and she had never considered herself to be cunning or courageous. Definitely not very intelligent, right? Plus, that badger was pretty stinking cute.
"Hmmm, Hufflepuff, you say? But I don't think I see you there young one. You're too...independent," the sorting hat mumbled.
"Ah yes, I know where to put you...RAVENCLAW!!" it bellowed.
Hope was shocked. Ravenclaw? Why her? She didn't consider herself to be clever enough to enter their ranks. With a bit of a confused expression, she stumbled down the stairs as everyone cheered and ventured over to her table. She instantly forgot her hesitation as she was met with warm smiles and the sight of food. God, she was hungry.

As I entered the great hall with all the other students, I was astonished. The first thing I saw, when we all entered the Great hall, were the hundreds of flying candles, hovering in the air over the house tables. "How does the hot wax not drip down on these students all the time?", I wondered, before reminding myself that, if they were able to make the candles hover, they sure had found a way to prevent the wax from dripping down. When we were walking down the long way to the end of hall, I felt a bit odd with all the older students staring at us and mumbling things I couldn't understand. Even though I knew they probably weren't talking about me, I still couldn't stand people whispering next to me. When we reached the end of the hall and cam to stand in front of Solomon Lear, listening to his speech and also listening to the Sorting Hat singing his song, which was quite frankly pretty enjoyable, I could feel, I was getting even more tense, scared of having to be put in one of the houses, since I didn't even know where I would like to be placed. Neither Slytherin, since, as I had heard, all the bad people got sorted into this house, nor Hufflepuff, since apparently all the naive and peaceful students were getting chosen to join this house and I definitely wasn't peaceful nor naive, neither Ravenclaw since I doubted I had the needed intellect to make it there, nor Gryffindor, since while I was brave and fierce, this house seemed a bit too prideful, boastful and arrogant to me, so yes, I didn't really know where to wish going to, which was even worse than having a specific dream house. When Lear had finished his speech and we were all waiting to be sorted in, I could feel the tension in me rising up even more, until finally, my name was called. "Yelena Kostornova"...I put some strands of my blonde har behind my ears, trying to hide my nervousness, while walking to the sorting hat and sitting down. When the Sorting Hat was put on my head, it was a weird feeling, hearing him inside my head. "What do we have here?" he asked himself, while my nervousness reached it's peak. "On one hand I can see courage, fierceness and loyalty, on the other hand, ambitiousness and maybe a bit...selfishness...but most of all I see something else, something giving me no other choice than to put you into...""Ravenclaw" he proclaimed loudly, while I felt the tension falling off of myself, but getting replaced by a sense of confusion. "Ravenclaw? Why exactly that house?" I asked myself while walking to the table of Ravenclaws, cheering and clapping their hands. I mean, while I indeed was witty and the best of my class in school, it was mostly due to the fact that I was studying like crazy toplesse my aunt and not due to the fact, that I was very smart. I mean, yes of course you need a certain level of intelligence to get those grades, even with studying that much, but still...Ravenclaw? While still being a bit confused, I also was happy to not being sorted into Slytherin or Hufflepuff and when I sat down with the other Ravenclaws, I even smiled, finally feeling a sense of relief and peace, while introducing myself to the kids sitting next to me.

As i walked through the big wooden doors leading into the great hall I felt like i was in a dream and needed to wake up . The candle lit ceiling was glistening all across the room and my eyes wandered between all of the candles the deeper i went into the great hall. At the back of the hall the exceedingly long table which seated all adults whom i dont know what they teach or if they are good at teaching. It was unnerving the closer i got towards the back of the hall and i was actually feeling cold inside and full of fear as i didnt know what to expect, i was made aware of the process by my parents but didnt believe it at first. I got called forwards to sit on the seat i was in full blown panic mode inside my mind by this point, what was going to happen. I sit down on the stool and the teacher placed the hat upon my head. I wasnt sure which house i would be placed into i thought it would go on your parents which left a choice between slytherin and ravenclaw. The hat started talking to me, which eventually led to it saying Ravenclaw. I was shocked i had a feeling it would put me in slytherin but apparently not. I began wishing it was slytherin as i stepped down from the stool and wandered towards the ravenclaw table as the older students looked really terrifying on first sight. I placed myself down at a vacant seat.

Gemima felt sick to her stomach. From the other side of the door, she could hear the murmuring of dozens of people. Cath had told her about how awesome the Sorting Ceremony was, how you would sit up there in front of everyone, and get sorted into the House of your dreams.
To Gem, it sounded like a nightmare. But there was no time to back out now.
The great wooden doors swung open. She followed the other first years single file into the Great Hall, her stomach in knots. A gruff looking old man by the doorway caught her eye and gave her a warm smile. She squeaked, and hurried to the foot of the hall's podium with the others. A cold prickly feeling was crawling up her neck.
There were clouds of floating candles in the air, which lit the Hall with a beautiful golden glow. Gemima was too focused on the Headmaster to notice them. He limped over to the stage and clasped his hands together. Her mind went cloudy for a moment, barely taking in what he was now saying. The only sound in her ears was of the sheer number of people around her.
Finally, the Headmaster held up an old, patchy hat. Gem perked up as the hat began to speak. So this was the famous Sorting Hat! She swallowed her nerves and tried to pay attention the best she could. The Hat chortled away for a while, until the Headmaster sternly whispered something. It sheepishly cleared its throat, and began to sing in a scratchy, yet booming voice.
Gemima watched, awestruck. Cath had forgotten to mention the part where the Hat composed a whole song. She clapped loudly with the others as it finished. The Hat dipped itself in a slight bow, and settled down again in the Headmaster's arms. The old man cleared his throat and unraveled a thick scroll attached to his belt. Gemima paled again as she heard him begin to rattle off names. Oh no, it's happening.
One by one, her fellow first years trotted up to the stool on the podium. The hat was placed atop their heads, and it called out their Houses with rapture. They walked off the stage to the correct table, and were bathed in cheers and applause. Gemima's stomach returned to somersaults, and she felt hot all over. The group grew thinner and thinner, until--
"Sable, Gemima." went the Headmaster's deep rumble. He looked up from the scroll expectantly.
Her name? That was her name! She stood there, frozen in place. Several hands started nudging her to the front, and she almost tripped over the stage steps. Feeling all eyes on her, she willed her feet to walk to the stool, and shakily sat down. It looked like there were hundreds of students in the crowd instead. Now she really was going to be sick! The Headmaster gave her a comforting smile and dropped the Hat over her head. Everything went dark as the worn cloth covered her eyes.
"Well, well, what do we have here?" the Hat whispered in her ear. Gemima's heart leapt into her throat, and she gripped the edges of the stool for dear life. Just get it over with. she silently pleaded.
"But then I wouldn't be able to properly Sort you! And that's my whole purpose. I can see you're still looking for your purpose, girl." it remarked shrewdly.
"Not too much of that Gryffindor fire that your sister has." it mused. "I sense great kindness and loyalty, but you're not quite fit for Hufflepuff..."
"No, I see a brilliant mind, a thirst for knowledge, and a longing for adventure. You're quite the dreamer, too."
The Hat paused for a moment. "I'm sure you'll find what you're looking for here.." Gemima felt it shift on her head. She opened her mouth to ask what was happening--
"RAVENCLAW!" boomed the hat, and she could see again as it was pulled off her head. She felt herself being ushered to a table full of shouting students, their robes lined with blue. She sat down in relief. Several people clapped her on the back, but she was just glad it was all over .
Her eyes brightened at the golden plates atop the great table.
"Can I eat this?"

Sorting Ceremony
Junhee was amazed, with the secret 9 3/4 train, the boat ride to the beautiful historic castle called HOGWARTS. Which Junhee knew held many mysteries behind it's beauty. And Junhee was excited to learn. Despite some moments, every single second spent to get here was pleasant. Still full of energy a knot formed her stomach, Junhee thought it was from nerves, but after hearing a deep growl, she knew she was hungry. That wasn't good, whenever she was hungry it would be followed by anger, her hangry stage.
Oh Gosh. Why now?
Luckily for Junhee she sneaked a few treats in her robes. She was successful as she carefully ate all the snacks. Mission complete, she snickered to herself. Wait, will this make me a Slytherin? But everyone in her family thought she would become a Hufflepuff, though a lot of her family was Gryffindors. Though one of her sisters thought maybe Ravenclaw is where she belonged, but Junhee didn't think she was all that smart. In her mind Junhee thought she was smart enough.
Once they reached the shore, Junhee heart beat faster, she was sure it was going to explode any second like a bomb. She practically jumped of the boat. Her smile beaming so bright it could be seen from miles. Her oversized passed-down hat hung low over her eyes, her curly hair covering what's left of her chocolate eyes. She was literally tripping over her robes as she followed the crowd, somehow she got stuck in the back. She let her sleeves hang limp at her sides.
It was amazing, the beautiful lights hung up like little suns, the long gorgeous wooden tables Glowing warm. Thousands students sat, Junhee was now behind since she stopped to admire I stead of looking in awe as she walked.
She did a quick spring to catch up tripping on her robes. She ran into one of the students from not paying attention. They flashed an angry look at her, "Sorry!" Junhee whispered. The student rolled their eyes to look ahead.
Junhee peered out of her hat to look at Solomon Lear the headmaster of Hogwarts. Junhee couldn't help but be curious about the mysterious man who wore large armor covering his figure below, and his sunken eyes that seemingly had a story to tell. And his rugged pepper and salt beard that hid his tired, wrinkled face. Junhee's mouth hung open by habit as she looked in wonder as Solomon Lear explained everything and introduced the head of the houses and their qualities.
That's when she saw him, the magical hat of Hogwarts her fate for her entire time at Hogwarts laid in it's thoughts. The hat cracked off a quick joke, which Junhee chuckled at. Solomon Lear told a history lesson about the houses and the hat sung a song about it. At that Solomon Lear pulled a long scroll that fell and draped like a curtain. He let out a heavy sigh. It felt like forever, names after names, houses after houses, aching feet. Junhee zoned out into her imagination to escape the BORINGness of name, house, cheer, name, house, cheer. She was so lost in her thoughts she hadn't even noticed they had called, JUNHEE KIM. When she snapped back everyone's eyes were on her, and Junhee was struck with confusion. Until they called again, JUNHEE KIM.
Embarrassment flooded over Junhee, her nose, ears, and cheeks turning red. She swiftly walked to the chair, tripping over her robes, she pulled off get hat so another could be placed.
"Hello, how are you?" Junhee whispered to the hat smiling.
"What? Quite unusual..." The hat mumbled. " There we are..."
Junhee put her hands together in a prayer position.
"RAVENCLAW!" The booming voice was immediately followed by applause that sounded of thunder. Junhee smile grew so big that it touched ear to ear.
She jumped up from the seat, when she realized she forgot to hand back the hat. Embarrassed she made her way to ravenclaw's table where she was politely greeted. Junhee couldn't wait. Sge wasted no time when the words, "FEAST" were announced.

She honestly couldn't believe her luck. Hogwarts! At last! Now that she was finally inside the castle that she'd been pining after her entire life, Roisin felt like she could explode with excitement.
Her eyes seemingly grew to an impossible size as she stared at anything and everything - the floating candles that apparently never dripped wax down onto the students heads, the strange slightly disgusting raggedy hat speaking over on the stall, the enormous hanging banners depicting each of the Houses symbols. As distracted as she was, she managed to catch her name being called by the tall wizard up on the dais "Roisin Hawthorne" She excitedly tugged on the ends of her hair, and her short legs worked overtime to quickly eat up the distance between her and the raggedy Sorting Hat. She was finally going to have her very own House to belong to!
Roisin almost threw herself at the stall, yanking the hat down over her eyes in her excitement. Hello!, she whispered loudly to the Hat, her knees jumping as she waited for it to hurry up and decide where she was going. RAVENCLAW
Is it really necessary for him to screech? I wonder if he's ever popped a students eardrums before during their sorting
Roisin tugged the Hat off her head and unceremoniously dumped him back on to the stall, almost knocking the chair over in her haste to get to the Ravenclaw table. Ravenclaw! The same house as her dad! Her mum would probably be a little upset that she wasn't in Slytherin but it wasn't like she could be sorted twice. She quickly slid into a free seat, fidgeting a little as she waited for the rest of her new House mates to be sorted too.

Valerian looks up in awe as the First Years are herded in through the large doors of the Great Hall. Her mother had described parts of Hogwarts to her, but it was so very different to see it in person. The ceiling reflected the night sky and it was beautiful, it made her forget the anxiety she'd had earlier. She apologized to the person in front of her, having stepped on the hem of their robes while she was entranced with the cieling.
"Sorry."
Her cheeks darkened in a blush and she kept her eyes in front, glancing around at the tables and coming to a stop in the group in front of the Headmaster and the rest of the teachers. She waiting patiently as student after student was sorted, until finally...
"O'Rourke, Valerian"
She hesitated, feeling more than a little anxious about being up in front of the entire school. She stepped forward slowly, glancing up at the Headmaster before sitting on the stool. The Sorting Hat settled over her ears and a silky voice whispered in her ears.
Ah, Miss O'Rourke, was wondering when I'd being seeing you here. Interesting mix you are, a Hufflepuff Muggle-born and a Slytherin Pure-blood. Where to put YOU though.....you would be an asset in either House."
Valerian didn't really care what House she was put in, she was more interested in the classes and finally being able to do magic.
"Is that so? Perhaps Ravenclaw, you are very bright, but no, I see it all here inside your head, you belong to GRYFFINDOR!"
Valerian flinched when the Hat suddenly yelled the House out loud and was then whipped off of her head. She went towards the table of scarlet and gold, ducking her head at the applause from her fellow housemates. She smiled though, at the pats on her shoulder and the welcomes. She knew she'd like it here, and she settled to watch the others after her get Sorted as well.
"Sorry."
Her cheeks darkened in a blush and she kept her eyes in front, glancing around at the tables and coming to a stop in the group in front of the Headmaster and the rest of the teachers. She waiting patiently as student after student was sorted, until finally...

Sorting Ceremony
Extressia sat, with a confused face at the hat. "This thing is going to tell us where we belong?" she thought.
"Huh, this sound kinda familar, like something in my book" she muttered.
But she barely had any ideas about the houses, and it made her extra nervous. This crusty old hat was going to tell what "house" she be in, and she had no idea about them. She look around for signs that this was common knowledge even though she was skeptical about it wasn't. To her surprise, it seem like they had no idea this was going to happen. She widen her eyes as the news, but was still pretty nervous. The table was stiff and room was comfy vibe like a small cottage home, but at the same time felt like a big aditorium.
"Extressia Garren Leo"
When she was called to wear the hat, she hesitated for a second but excitily hurried toward the hat. She couldn't wait to find her house, even when she had suspicion about this whole thing. Looking at all the students made her queasy but she gulped that fear and sat confidently, or at confident as she can.
"I don't know where I want to be, so I follow your word, I guess?"
"Maybe a Hufflepuff, you are a pretty helpful person, but no wait your bravery and adventerous spirit is your real strength, I understand now you belong to GRYFFINDOR"the Sorting hat cried.
A little scared at what that mean and the hat loud shout, but mostly excited at the new excalamation and clapping from the other students. Extressia went to her house table, starting to really feel her journey at Hogwart has started.
