Any recommendations as to what ability would be best for a duellist? I was thinking of a Prodigal Charms or DADA, but Spell Spread looks great too. As does the Languages thing.

I am a duellist and I have prodigal charms, but that is also because IC it makes sense. Samantha is eager to learn and loves charms. OOC you do need to put a bit of work in it, but it is handy to get extra duelling spells. I would recommend, if you go for prodigal, that you look at what spells there are in which subject the next year and which spells you can use in duels.

A lot of duelist have perfectionist, which is also quite handy in duels. There is also an ability that gives you a chance on auto dodge. Lovely creature can also help you in a duel, that ability makes it harder for the other team to cast a spell.

But besides looking at what is handy for duelling you could also look what fits your character. Also I think for spellspread you need to be at least a third year, though I am not sure about that.
