Moaning Murtle
Verla ran in here, escaping a few kids chasing her. All of a sudden she heard "mm-hmm" the sound of someone clearing their throat.
She turned around, and saw a ghost girl standing there. "What are you doing in ma-eh bothroom?"
She looked into her dead eyes "I didn't know anyone else would be in here."
The girl giggled "you see me as if I'm anyone else? That's the nicest thing anyone has ever said to me!"
Verla didn't know what to do or say, she stood there with her mouth open, trying to grasp how that was a compliment.
"I'm Murtle, I haunt these leftover stalls. I told everyone to leave, to get out and leave me alone. But now that I'm a ghost, they don't care" she gave off a fake cry or two "I'm just Moaning Murtle moaning about Murtle, they aren't scared of me, and they make fun of me. But you, you are not like the others. What'd they call you?"
"Verla. Verla Harness. Pleasure to meet you, and thanks, I think."
"You think? You think?! At least you think, a lot of people around here have trouble doing that of course."
"Right, well I am human, no offense."
"I was quite a human once too Vvverlaa" she said in a wicked, mean way.

Moaning Murtle
Sophie walked into the Girls' Lavatory. It was usually empty and quiet, well, except for Moaning Myrtle. Sophie and the ghost weren't friends, or enemies, just... there. The normally quiet bathroom was a good place to study, And, a good place to practice magic.
Sophie seemed completely oblivious to the young girl and the ghost conversing. Raising her wand at one of the most dirty sinks, she waved her wand and commanded, "Tergeo!" And the spell siphoned most of the dirt and grease off.
"Well, well! Look whos here? Little miss witch." Said the ghost. Sophie threw her head over her shoulder and saw Moaning Myrtle, and another girl whom she had never seen. By the girls uniform, and by Myrtles somewhat happy attitude, Sophie could tell the girl was a Hufflepuff.
"Oh Hello Myrtle! Has someone come to bother you again?" Sophie prompted sitting down on her Black robes. The tie around her neck, was loosely done. Its Maroon and Gold pattern nearly shined in the light that was given off by the window.
"Oh no... This girl is very nice! She thought of me as someone!" Myrtle exclaimed excitedly. Sophie glanced at the girl that Myrtle had indicated.
"Hi. I'm Sophie Murphy, of Gryffindor."

Moaning Murtle
Verla shied away but said "Verla Harness of Hufflepuff" when she saw the Murtle went back to reading the same page in a book over and over again, Verla switched it for her and she squealed "Oh such kindness I've never seen! Thanks to you Vvvverla" she sneered again. It was like she had trouble pronouncing her V's. Verla rolled her eyes at Murtle, who giggled in her own devilish way. When Murtle saw Verla's bowtruckle she said "Oh such cuteness! I wish I had one of them, I'd never be alone ever again." Verla got an idea, "if I find another one Murtle I'll see if he or she will be your companion, I could come in here and feed them too. If you'd like."
For the first time, Murtle was actually happy, or excited. She nodded her head eagerly, like a child saying yes to some ice cream. Verla smiled, she'd never seen a ghost so happy before, so she felt special that she made a ghosts' day. She looked back at Sophie and nodded toward her, she had the brightest smile she's ever had. Her first few months at Hogwarts has been amazing and she's made a new friend.

Moaning Murtle
Dorothy heard someone talking to moaning myrtle, which was rare. She had been walking into the girls lavatory to fix her hair and wash her face when she spotted the bowtruckle. It was small and spindly, and looked to be fairly young. The witch who held it (a hufflepuff) was fondling the creature. Treating it as a pet. Hmm."If I find another one Murtle I'll see if he or she will be your companion, I could come in here and feed them too. If you'd like."
Dora doesn't often speak up harshly to anyone. In fact, she ofinds it difficult to tell someone they're doing something wrong. But being an animal enthusiast, she would always speak up about the mistreatment of any creature. Especially since she had rehabilitated many magical animals professionally and successfully. Dorothy now put together that the girl was offering the ghost a bowtruckle. As a pet. Now this was something Dorothy could not stand for.
"You-you can't do that." she whispered, glancing again at the bowtruckle. She spoke up, louder this time. "You can't keep him as a pet. It-it's wrong. He belongs in the wild." She stuck out her chin, fully confident in what she said now. "Bowtruckles have very specific needs that you can't supply for its entire life. They are omnivores, but most commonly dine on woodlice, which I'm pretty sure you can't buy. Bowtruckles mainly inhabit wand tree's and will eventually become depressed or extremely attached to someone without a wand tree to protect. Bowtuckles are also social, which means they need to be with their kind. He's young, and if you keep treating him like that he'll never be able to live on his own. You have to release him. I saw a wiggen tree by the Great Lake a while ago. You can take him there. Please! He'll die if you don't. Ask Professor Lear. He'll tell you. "
Dorothy was out of breath. Maybe because she had just spouted an essay. She took a few deep breathes and fidgeted with her robe, silently pleading with the girl to listen to her. It was strange that she could care so much for a creature she had just seen. She wanted the bowtruckle to have a real life though. She knew they weren't meant to be kept as pets, and if this girl couldn't see that. Well! She'd go to professor Lear. Dorothy would ask him what to do. She shuddered at the thought of getting someone in trouble. Dorothy would much rather befriend the girl. Maybe they could still be friends, if this girl would listen!

"He won't die, I let him go out hunting every day. I would know if something was wrong, he's just fine. Oliver would be heart broken if I let him go, and if I have too then I get a little tree or plant thing for him, he's just fine." Verla said and crossed her arms at the girl. Who did she think she was? Coming in here and speaking to her about her companion as if she didn't already know. She wasn't stupid, and Oliver would be just fine, he was old enough to be on his own.
Verla's cheeks flushed red, she was mad, and she didn't get mad often. "I'll have you know that Newt actually had one, so just worry about yourself." Verla sighed and looked at Oliver. She was right, he'd never be able to live on his own. Then Verla knew what she had to do. Verla could never forgive this girl because Verla lost her companion now, even though Oliver was perfectly happy. She crouched down with him still in her hands and began to cry, Oliver looked at her confused. She had to let him go and be with his kind again. (Moved to the great lake labeled "Letting Go")

"I-I.. Newt was a zoologist. He..." Dorothy couldn't finish. The girl was sobbing. This isn't what she had wanted, but if "Oliver" would be released....
Girls could be really emotional sometimes. Dorothy, of course, spoke from experience. She remembered her first release. It had been a wild kneazle, named Jumpy. Dorothy had raised it from a kitten, with her father.
"I want to keep him Daddy. Please?A young Dorothy cried, clasping her hands and looking up at he box he held in his hands. "No sweetie." her father had said, smiling, "Jumpy will be much happier in the woods. He can catch mice, terrorize muggle. He'll have a great life out there. " Dorothy had wiped away a tear and smiled, mostly at the thought of a giant Jumpy chasing around someone. "Okay. Can I do it?" she had asked. "Go ahead sweetie." Dorothy took the box from him and set it down. She opened it, and out ran the kneazle. He mewed, flicked his tail, and ran into the woods. He was free. And so was Dorothy.
The words still rang in her head. Dorothy shook her curls. She shouldn't have said anything. There she was, causing trouble. She had too much knowledge, she knew too much, and she couldn't help but say it all. Dora turned back to the mirror. Her face was pink, partially with indignation and partially with embarrassment. The girl had run off, maybe to return the bowtruckle.-just worry about yourself!

Verla sobbed and ran out, when she returned, she was surprised to still see them in there. "It doesn't matter if Newt was a zoologist, his bowtruckle was still loyal to him. I hope you happy now" She walked past her and sat down in a ball and began to sob. Now she had no one, and she felt so alone. She hoped that the girl was happy that she got what she wanted, she would never ever forgive her. She just wanted to be left alone.
Murtle saw what was happening and such, she looked at the girl with blonde curls, "so not cool. you ruined my chance of having a friend! Shame on you!" Murtle ran through her and disappeared, you could hear her sobbing. Verla wanted to figure out that place she'd once found by the sinks, but she was too sad and tired to do much else. She had no comfort from anyone, no love from anyone, she was completely and utterly alone, and that made her want to disappear. She thought about running away, she could survive on her own in the woods if she wanted too. She began to think it was a good idea.

OOC: Are you allowed to control moaning myrtle? Just curious
"No! I mean. Well.. He studied them. They were his science, not his pets.. But never mind. It doesn't matter. I know how you feel. My brother and I raised magical creatures back at home, and we always had to release them. It's better for them that way. Newt also had a thunderbird that was loyal to him. Remember? He let it go back to its home, because it was right. I am happy. I'm happy that you did the right thing!" Dorothy said softly. She wondered why the girl was so emotional. She hadn't had the bowtruckle too long, had she? No, she couldn't have.. "Anyways. My name's Dorothy, and I understand if you're upset at me. Someday I'm sure you'll understand. I'm sorry if I was intrusive. I mean't no harm." She slowly backed out of the room, ignoring moaning myrtle and the girls hysterics. It was probably best if she left. She went to leave before turning around once more. "Come find me when you're recovered. I see no reason we can't be friends." she smiled and walked out of the lavatory. Her smile left as soon as she was out of sight. This had been a long day.

The girl was right, so she went and found her when she wasn't sobbing her eyes out. "I'm sorry if I came off as a jerk. Oliver was all I had, then he was gone. I had saved him you know, from being eaten, I thought it would be okay to have him since he was so young. But you were right, I'll find something else." Verla slightly smiled at the girl and extended a hand "Verla Harness, First year, Hufflepuff." Verla thought giving this girl a chance would be okay, though she'd never forget Oliver and her "suggestion." All-in-all, she knew he'd be alright. Maybe it was for the best, he was quite the troublemaker, but he kept Verla out of trouble. Oh well, it didn't matter any more. What was done is done, and you can't go back on your word once it's said. Thought her parents had lied to her of when they would always love her when they thought she was just as normal as her new sibling on the way.OOC: since moaning murtle isn't actually a person on here then I don't see why not. You just have to do and say as she would.
