XXXXVale Ashwood was not actually a serial killer. Just strange, really. She was a strange girl with strange habits and ideologies, but she wasn't a serial killer. At least, Maggie hoped she wasn't a serial killer! It would be a real shame. A real shame if one of her new friends was a murderer and was plotting the downfall of all of Slytherin house. Which, now that Maggie actually considered that and thought all about the concept, it was pretty likely. Yeah, no, it was pretty likely that Vale would one day take over the world and make Hogwarts her oyster.

That wasn't a Christmas thought, though. The holidays were made for seeing the best in people, for looking beyond the superficial surface things and deep into someone's real and true being. If that made sense.

"Here? Right now? Nah, she's probably playing with her spider somewhere. Or, like, playing hopscotch with skulls," a joke, naturally, except that thinking critically of Vale, again, might prove that skull hopscotch was entirely possible. "What fun is that? A non-murderous friend? Sounds boring to me."

Maggie swung her feet and reached for a jug of apple juice, dragging it close to pour some into the clear glass before her. "Huh? Oh! My name. I'm Maggie," she greeted, observing the other and folding her arms one over the other. "And you are . . . Parker. You look like a Parker. Is it Parker?"

I really value when people use violence for me, it's actually one of my love languages.

Maggie was certainly a character. She was friends with killer-not-killer-maybe-killer people, made certain assumptions that didn't really add up, and overall seemed awfully... herself.

For some reason Edme quite liked talking to her, hearing about her thoughts and ideas as they seemed to sprout from practically nothing. It was entertaining, amusing almost. They continued listen, now holding the water with two hands in front of her.

"Ah." Edme responded plainly to the joke, grateful that she realized it was a joke before jumping to conclusions. They weren't an amazing tone reader."Well, I would prefer not to fear being killed, y'know? Might just be a personal thing though, I understand your perspective may be different in... Slytherin."

Maggie was her name. It sounded floppy, if that made sense. Like the floppy ears on a dog. Edme liked to make those mental translations, from one thing to another. Like Edme sounding like an almond. Achillian sounded like Achilles, so it was hard to make a translation there. Maybe marble or smooth, cold white tile.

"Oh, it's Edme. But Parker sounds cool too. I mean, it's not my name, but call me as you like." Edme's Scottish accent pierced through the words, crisp and clear, "You look kind of like a Freya. Did you know Freya is actually a Norse Goddess, and is what the day Friday is named after? Isn't it cool? And-And Maggie means Pearl."

Edme wouldn't call herself obsessed necessarily, but they found a sort of joy in old mythology and such. All the little things that built up to more, how it contradicts science by quite a bit, how it's simply just making sense of things that didn't make sense. And all the different gods and goddesses that play into it. It was beautiful.

The entire time Edme had been sitting there, the idea of Quidditch had been stuck in her head. Curiosity was deep in her thoughts, brewing like a potion in the dungeon.

"Is Quidditch... fun?" Edme asked slowly, trying not to sound too interested. They had never been to a game, but she was considering it at the idea of a bunch of brooms flying through the air. It sounded almost comical.
