[font=Monotype Corsiva]Dear Father,
I hope you are in good health. I regretted that I could not see you over the summer, having heard that you were at the estate and expecting me. I hope you in part already understand why I decided not to come, and that you know that I miss you. It has now been years since we've seen one another, and in part due to my own decisions. I didn't mean any disrespect to you or mother, and I was hoping this next summer I could propose a means of bridging that gap.
If I could have your permission, I would like to spend the summer doing work at whatever stable you are working in. You wouldn't have to pay me, and I am practiced in horse care and management from my time taking care of Zarkov, as well as this last summer when I helped in Darius' stables. I can do the work without the use of magic, I am hoping it would compensate for lodging in the meantime. I remember past summers where you let me do the same, now that I am older I can be of more use, as well as being more available to spend time with you.
If you want to talk about what I saw two summers ago, that's fine. All I ask is that you allow me this trip, and the opportunity to spend more time with you. It need not be excessive, I will accept whatever amount of work you deem appropriate, and I will strive to not cause any disturbance. This I ask of you not as a passing fancy, but a strong desire. If you do not want my presence, I understand, but if I would not be a burden I implore you to accept.
With love,

[font=Book Antiqua]Dear Demetrius,
I was admittedly surprised to see your letter, but it is received with joy. I admit I am unhappy with the way you spoke to your mother this last summer. Not all things that are necessary are easy, and sometimes you must accept that your parents may have more wisdom than you give them credit for. At least while you are still a child, please give us the opportunity to show you that we do want what is best for you, even if the pathways there may not seem simple or fair.
That said, I would be glad to board you in the Lake District Stable in Cumbria, there is a Victorian farmhouse meant for holiday accommodations that we could spare. I am impressed that you have offered to work for your lodging, and will accept, though it will be volunteer work. The distinction must be made legally, and you will have paperwork to fill out once you arrive. This is not the 1900s anymore, though I'm sure your grandfather would have done the same back when he was your age. Do keep in mind that we employ and serve muggles, squibs, and wizards alike, so be mindful of the subjects you discuss in idle conversation.
You must understand, I intend to now send a letter to your mother and sister informing them of your decision. If they send you a letter in response, you must read and respond. It is not intelligent to ignore and avoid correspondence from your family, you must do better. I look forward to seeing you, and I thank you for reaching out to me. I hope we can find a way to ease whatever it is that is weighing so heavily on you, perhaps the fresh air will help.
Fond regards,
