Cody and the Night Sky
Interacting: @Nigel ReadIC Date- October 21st at 11:05 pmThe boy would be angry twenty four seven, but if you think, just for a minute at least, he didn't do his homework all week. He was at fault for his own stupidity. But the boy had a desire for the night sky, even if he wasn't going to learn about stars or the moons this year.
He would walk into the Astronomy room, have an expression on his face that demonstrates a glare. Well, he assumed he went to the right place.
If the professor would see him, even if Cody never talked in his class before, he'd say something now. "Hello Professor book- no- Professor writing- nope. Professor Read. I'm Cody. Stevenson, Cody that is." The part goblin said, in an american accent, instead of the british accent he knew of.
He grabbed out his wand, of Dogwood and a core of Troll Whisker, and lined it up with one of the stars, but he wouldn't dare cast a spell. Not at the precious night sky. After all, they provide the darkness. That was something to thank.
"Listen Read. Can I call you that? Well, I'd like to learn about the... whatchamacallit... constellations. My twin, Freddy, who doesn't come to Hogwarts, told me there is a Constellation called Cody Stevenson, and I figured you'd know where it is, and what it looks like, don't you?"

Cody and the Night Sky
Nigel was in no mood for joke, particularly unfunny childish joke that potentially translated as annoying. The first year's class had just ended, and soon he still had to teach the seventh years.
A first year who had just walked out the door returned, and then trying to grab his attention by calling wrong names. At the end, the tween decided to simply address him as Read, no title whatsoever; but worse than that, the kid demanded to be taught a fictional constellation named after him (the child, not the professor).
Apparently, the boy assumed that Nigel would not know his name; but the truth is, he remembered all of his students' names and which year each of them was, because he would like to ensure they felt welcomed in his class. He knew this kid, Cody Stevenson, not only as a first year but also as a problematic pupil who fought with a number of fellow students and an attention-seeker.
From the way he spoke, Nigel assumed he was spoiled but somehow he was generally an unhappy individual, which explained his attention-seeker behaviour. Huh, it even looked like he got into fights just so he got attention from both the Hogwarts staff and pupils.
After the Hufflepuff finished speaking, the Astronomy teacher replied politely but sternly, "I believe I've never given you a permission to address me the way you just did, Mr Stevenson. And if you're interested in real constellations, there are books you can borrow from the school library. I'm afraid your twin was pulling your leg. Now, it's late and I have class. I believe you'd better return to your dorm and get some sleep as well."

Cody and the Night Sky
Interacting: @Nigel ReadIC Date- October 21st at 11:05 pm"But I don't want to sleep! Its beautiful out here! And why are you saying my brother was pulling my leg? He's the most hon- that jerk. Listen, I'm sorry..." Cody dawdled intentionally, preparing to say something to attempt disrespecting the professor of astronomy. "Read."
Really, Cody was sorry, and very apologetic, but if he found a name he liked, he stuck with it. Even if he didn't have permission. Now, he was never interested in gaining trouble just by returning into the class he just left.
"No." The Part Goblin said, sternly. "I do believe I DON'T WANT TO. Leave, I mean." If he were to attempt to get onto the professor's good side, perhaps he should call the professor what he deserved to be called. "Professor Read. I don't want to leave. I want to stay with your next class. I think it'd be more intriguing than sleeping."
Should the Astronomy Professor kick him out, Cody would be pounding on the door, the trapdoor anyways, just a few times. However, if the Professor doesn't do anything, Cody would stand his ground and look at the professor in the eyes.
"Listen Professor. I'm nocturnal. I know how to spell it too! (Knock-Turn-Mill=cody's spelling) Disaster falls on me everywhere I go, but I am still convinced that it's the Constellation named after me that befells my wrecks."

"I'm not asking if you would like to return to your dorm and sleep, Mr Stevenson. I'm requesting you to do so," Nigel said, still in his stern way. "A good night's rest is vital, it helps both your body and your brain. Staying up for three straight days kills you faster than fasting - means not eating or drinking anything - for ten straight days, studies have proven."
He looked at the first year straight in eyes. "Really, Mr Stevenson. I don't see any sensible reason for you to avoid getting enough sleep. Unless you have problems with nightmares? In that case, I'm taking you to Nurse Brumby for medication." The teacher's voice grew softer at the mention of nightmares which may require help from health professionals - that would be a real case, one may say. "Or is there anyone or anything that disturbs you in your dorm? A bully perhaps? Then please do report such case to me or to Professor Browne."
To be honest, Nigel did not really believe the part-goblin was bullied by a dorm mate. Knowing his history, the Astronomy professor was tempted to jump into conclusion he was merely being disobedient or looking for trouble. But Nigel cared about all of his students, and he wanted to take all of them seriously. If Cody was a bully victim, then he would protect the Hufflepuff, no matter whether or not he was a good pupil.
"Look at me, Mr Stevenson," Nigel called the boy. "I want you to tell me why you refuse to get some sleep in your dorm. If it's simply because you want to break the curfew, I suggest you stop unless you want me to report this to Professor Browne."

Cody and the Night Sky
Interacting: @Nigel ReadIC Date- October 21st at 11:05 pmDid the professor really care? No matter. "Read. I- I just don't want to return to the dreaded dormitory. I- don't feel like I belong. I think I belong out there in the stars, I've done a lot of good here at this school! But I'm not rewarded? Pfft. Trouble always finds me, and the way you're looking at me makes me think that you're feeling a little sympathetic towards me, as if I was born horrible. Don't look at me!" Cody would say, adding a dramatic tone in his voice, that should've belonged in theater onstage. Perhaps the boy should've toned down and accepted his fate, returning to the dorm to sleep.
He exclaimed loudly when Professor Read mentioned him being bullied and of being taken to the nurse for medication for his nightmares. "Does Willow count as a bully? She terrifies me! And as for the nightmares, no, unless you count unicorns prancing around and neighing at a prince in shining armor." Cody said, sarcastically. But he was a little suspicious of Willow, not that they ever interacted prior October 21st.
"Read. I don't want to sleep in my dormitory because...." Cody tried to think of an excuse that was hard to be believed but could excuse him, should the professor pursue his interrogation. "I had a bad dream."
Cody attempted to lie, knowing full well he hasn't even closed his eyes for longer than a second.

Cody and the Night Sky
Nigel did not know whether he wanted to laugh or roll his eyes when the kid in front of him claimed he (the kid, not Nigel) had brought a lot of positive impacts for Hogwarts. Why, all teachers knew this student had caused nothing but troubles, injuries, and headaches.
Normally, the Astronomy professor would not use a sharp tongue against practically anyone. However, his next class would start soon and he really did not want to deal with a loud-voiced, insolent preteen who would take dozens of minutes to settle down. For the first time since he became a teacher at Hogwarts, Nigel made a sharp remark, "What kind of reward do you expect for a first year who attacks his fellow students at any occasion? Having a constellation named after him? No one gets their name used for any astronomical object for nothing. You want to get it, you got to earn it through hard work and critical thinking."
There was a mention of someone called Willow, but the young American teacher did not want to make any assumption that potentially placed his pupil in an unnecessary uncomfortable situation. Thus, instead of asking which Willow Cody was referring to, Nigel merely answered, "I have no idea which student you're talking about or what happened between you two, so I can't say whether or not this kid counts as a bully."
When Nigel asked the Hufflepuff if he had nightmares, Cody replied with a no initially, and then changed it into a yes, I had a bad dream.
"Make up your mind, Mr Stevenson. First you told me no, the only thing you dreamt about was unicorns, and now you say yes. And I want no ambiguous or complex answer, I have class in five minutes," said Nigel sternly, with an emphasis on the last clause he spoke and zero smile on his face.

Cody and the Night Sky
Sorry as its uncoded, but uh- heres my post| ACTION: Leaving | Interacting with @Nigel Read
Did Cody want to leave for the next class to come in? No. That had to be a load of bull. Cody listening to people was horrid, the thought was enough to make him shake. Shake angrily anyways. Cody looked at Professor Read with his face abashed with a dark shade of red, for embarrassment and humiliation. "I DON'T HAVE TO TELL YOU ANYTHING!" The young part goblin screamed out, him being so angry and moody.
He looked at the astronomy professor and huffed with a furious look on his face. "You know what? I'm sorry. But I best be leaving. I don't want to share my dreams with anyone, I regret coming up here."
Wow, Cody was starting to be rude, cruel, and may be abusing his place at Hogwarts, as apparently only wizards can go. He took a short minute to calm down, then looked back up to the Professor and looked down, more embarrassed than he was before he yelled at the professor.
"Listen... Professor Read, I'm terribly sorry that I yelled at you. Honestly! That was so atrocious of me! But look, I really don't think it would be wise for me to share my dreams with you... I'm actually going to cry in the common room. I'm sorry I wasted your time and invaded the class. That was so stupid of me. Anyways, bye!" Cody said, running out of the class.

Cody and the Night Sky
As the boy in front of him began screaming about him not being required to tell Nigel his dreams or in fact anything at all, the Astronomy professor waited and watched whether this preteen would roll on the floor kicking and pounding his fists so as to match his cry. But really, throwing a tantrum in semi-public context as a tween? Nigel was not the only other person in that room; some older students, who would have class there in five minutes, were beginning to enter already. To be honest, Nigel could really imagine this eleven (or twelve)-year-old doing so despite his age.
However, the Hufflepuff decided against it, and Nigel altered his initial plan to tell Cody no one would make the pupil do so if he did not wish so either way. Instead, the teacher remained silent and kept his dark brown eyes on the part-Goblin in spite of his earlier shouting demanding Nigel not to look at him.
When the blond ran out of the Astronomy classroom, Nigel breathed a sigh of relief. Insolent kid, he said, quite angrily, inside his head. It was not really mature to think that way, the young professor realised it, but considering that student's records and the fact that another class would take place in five, it may be quite difficult for Nigel to think otherwise. At least that kid is gone. Nigel was glad.
