Festival Grounds
As many would think, along with the BlossomFest, tents sprout up in random locations on the festival grounds. Plenty of student were wandering the tents set up by Hogsmeade vendors, and even picked out a few things to buy. The temporary shade against the increasingly warm sunlight was a silent blessing to most. 'Magicians' coming in from Hogsmeade stood around in different places throughout the grounds, preforming tricks with their wand that entertained the younger years.
The school had finally come together to celebrate the essence of spring, and even if they weren't participating in the activities currently, they were attending the festival. That was all that mattered - that, and the children having fun.
Don’t feel like doing any events or activities? Well, there is a place for those sorts of people as well. In the Grounds, the place is incredibly lively. Walk around with friends, check out the cool events just by passing by, and have lunch with friends! Spectators of events can also be found here. Enjoy all the fun in the sun, while it lasts!

Reid stood in front of the Honeydukes booth, one hand in his pocket as the other took a bite of the biscuit he had bought. He wasn't done buying, but he was definitely considering on stopping himself before he bought out the whole booth. Reid didn't have that kind of money but if he could, he would love to buy a couple of the candies hew as eyeing.
He had been briefly chatting with one of the vendor's assistants, but he occupied himself with eating in front of it as he prowled for the next sweet. He had gone alone not really by choice, he just didn't have anyone to go to the festival's grounds with.
Plus it seemed that the ones he knew were occupied with other events. He had been down the last few days, it was rare to see him the way he was. But he thankfully managed to keep it under the radar of his friends and largely anyone who even vaguely knew him. But the sweets he was entertaining himself from Hogsmeade was enough to at least dispel the negativity and bring his lopsided smile back.
He heard some clamor not too far and glanced to see that it was one of the magicians who came from the town. His attention was easily stolen as he ate the biscuit, chewing as he observed from afar. Mischievous magic was something he wouldn't mind learning, harmless fun was what he sorely needed. Reid shrugged his shoulders, his hoodie keeping him at a relatively good temperature to be in.
Briefly, he turned away from the spectacle and turned back to the Honeydukes booth to buy more of the biscuit. Reid had asked to buy a few, it would at least give him a snack to have if he decided to participate in any of the other events. He brushed his hand on his jeans, huffing as he realized he just wiped from melted chocolate on its denim.
It didn't matter, but he figured he should actually eat the treats soon before they melted. That or he could possibly share them, but with who? Reid glanced around, looking for a few familiar faces - perhaps some strangers who might want one.
"Trouble usually finds me."

It was a beautiful, warm spring day and Asteria was enjoying her first festival at Hogwarts. Asteria walked around the school grounds, wondering what exactly to do. She missed signing up for the first two events so she decided to entertain herself with whatever else the festival had to offer. The sound of laughter and chatter filled her ears and the smell of sweets filled her nose. She looked over at a group of fellow students, they were enjoying themselves as they watched a Wizard transfigure are cup into a flock of birds. She wonder for a brief second if she should join them before deciding against it.
Turning her head to the right, she notices a vendor from Honeydukes. The older witch at the stand seemed to be a selling all sots of sweets, from Bertie Bott's Every Flavour Beans and Cauldron Cakes, to Cockroach Clusters and Jelly Slugs. Wanting something sweet, Asteria decided to head over to the vendor to buy something. "Hmmm, I'll have some Bertie Bott's Every Flavour Beans, a Chocolate Cauldrons, and a pumpkin Fizz, please." Asteria said as she thought about what to get. With a smile, the Witch picked of each of the items and stored them in a small bag. "Here you are sweetie!" She said kindly. "Have a lovely time at the festival!" Asteria returned her smile with a kind one of her own and thanked her.
Turning on her heels, Asteria looked around the shaded area, "Now, where to sit?" She wondered. It was a nice day, but also a little hot and Asteria would much rather sit in the nice cool shade than in the hot, blazing sun and possibly get a sunburn any day.

The sun outside was shining brightly, and the Great Lake water was rippling lively, just as the people walking by it. The loud chatter of students and professors alike, was enough to know that something was going on.
Sophie walked outside of the castle down to the Grounds. The loud noises had brought her back to the reality of Hogwarts. It was an exciting day, a day that Sophie could spend with new people, or even just by herself. Both of those thoughts were exciting enough.
The young Gryffindor never got much time to herself, whether it was being badgered by her friends, or even her own owl! And alot of times she was working herself too hard. Hey, homework and being a writer for the news in Gryffindor was alot of work!
The smell of mouth-watering food, made Sophie cheerful once more, the thoughts of being distracted and badgered seemed to deplete at once. Opening a book and sitting under a nicely shaded tree, made Sophie feel cheerful and at home. She loved books, always have, always will. Books brought you into a world of fantasy and happiness reality could never bring. Of course, unless you were living a happy life and you were living a fantasy dream.
Most people were nasty pessimests, and didn't bother being happy.
Sophie barely read one page, when her stomach growled loudly. Getting up from her spot, and leaving her book behind, Sophie began walking towards the loud crowd of people. It was loud because of all of the laughter and chatter, not from the loud people themselves.
Though Sophie was loud and cheerful, she was always a bit nervous around other people. Some people just couldn't handle her loudness. She also had a bit of trouble introducing herself to others. A bit. She made friends easily. Or at least, that's what her mum had said.
Finally becoming in the world, Sophie walked up to a stand with lots of.. of...
CANDY!
Sophie carefully walked towards the vendor and their stand. She gingerly took out a few silver Sickles and a few golden Galleons. She still had to decide what she wanted to eat. Her stomach growled loudly. 'I've never been more hungry in my life.' Sophie thought. But, that was a complete lie.
"Hello Miss! May I have two chocolate frogs... and a Cauldron Cake?" Prompted the Gryffindor. The vendor nodded cheerfully and handed her the food. Sophie handed her the Sickles and Galleons. Walking away from the vendor, and starting on one of the chocolate frog she had got, Sophie stared blankly at the lake.
Eating was nice and all, and so was reading, but Sophie became very bored. Of course, she became bored so easily, it wasn't a shocker.
Sophie walked back to the spot she had been sitting in, and stared around, everyone was so interesting! Everything, was so interesting.

Delilah smiled as the ran outside, hearing there was sweetie booths and magicians. She immediately went over to one of the carts selling sweets and looked at them all, wondering what to buy. She just bought a cauldron cake and turned to one of the magicians as she took a bite. There she saw somebody she recognised, a certain tall Hufflepuff by the name of Reid. She quietly appeared behind him as he was watching the magician do his thing. She thought about giving him a fright but wasn't sure what to do with her cake. So she waited, a couple feet behind him, eating her cake as quickly as possible without choking.
Once she finished she snuck up on him, this was payback for frightening her when they met, even if he hadn't meant to. Once she was right behind him she dug her fingers into his side's, tickling him, she wasn't sure if he was ticklish but even if he wasn't, that was gonna give him at least a little fright. When he turned around she smiled up at him and simply said, "Payback." She tilted her head a little to look past him at the magician, exhaling in awe. She moved to stand next to him and muttered, "That's so cool." Her jaw was practically on the floor from the awesomeness of the magicians.
She hoped Reid had forgiven her for accidentally kicking him, she was still annoyed at herself about that, but much less than she was when she did it. "Umm..how are you?" She asked, after the kick and after the dreadful camp out, she felt really bad for him and Serena, and the other hufflepuffs too, but she was the closest with Reid and Serena, but she had taken Serena out to do the flower crowns, which had ended up being a lot of fun.

Amadea had made it to the grounds, too late for the Flower Crown contest, but at least she could enjoy the Blossom Fest. Other students were milling around, checking out the different booths and vendors. She wandered along the path, looking at everything as she went. Following the scent of food as she went, she found herself in front of a booth, ordering a Cauldron Cake. As she took it from the vendor, she turned and looked around at the Grounds. She didn't recognize any of the students down here, so she could either find a spot in the shade away from everyone and eat her cake in peace, or find someone to socialize with.
As much as she wished she could choose the first option, she went with the latter. She was never going to form a solid friendship if she kept running away from people. And what better way to make a friend than at the Blossom Fest? She took a bite of Cauldron Cake, letting the brilliant flavors melt in her mouth before trying to find someone to socialize with. A few yards away, she saw a boy with a Hufflepuff tie, matching hers. It seemed like a good place to start. As she walked over, she realized he was with another girl, a Ravenclaw if she was going by just her tie. It seemed as though they were good friends in the middle of a conversation and Amadea didn't want to interrupt them. She realized that she was too close now to turn back, though, and the two were bound to notice her. She stepped back, hoping she could slip into the background.

Abi walked - or skipped depending on which angle you looked - down the hill to the Blossom Festival. Spring was her favourite season, what with all the hidden secrets blooming from every plant and animal. If it wasn't for the jutty rocks and the fact that there were far more people in the festival grounds alone than there were in her home village, the colours and sunlight might have reminded her of childhood days frolicking with her brothers.
She had no idea what she was going to do but that didn't hinder her confidence as she didn't falter in her path. To her left were three young students, probably in her year but she couldn't be certain, and she eyed them cautiously. People are wonderful and all but trying to hold a conversation with three at once, probably about some trivial and uninteresting topics, made her anxious. Then she looked over and saw another girl sat on the ground, looking fairly astounded by everything.
Now she stopped. She hadn't thought this far ahead. Holding her book of choice to her chest, she glanced between the people hoping someone would notice her.

Mia wandered around the festival grounds, walking from one tent set up by the Hogsmeade vendors to the other. Soon she had a basket full of sweets and small knick knacks to send to her family. Adjusting her hair, Mia walked towards the table full of mouth-watering food, and took a sandwich, nibbling on it as she ambled towards the center of the crowd, content. Now that she had food and souvenirs, two very important things, Mia tried to find company. Most preferably, good company. This meant a Ravenclaw.
Mia prefered Ravenclaws over other houses as they were most likely interesting. Sure, other houses were jam packed with interesting wizards and witches, but Ravenclaws were safe bets. Besides, if she met someone dull, she could always move on to the next person. This was too perfect an afternoon to waste on a boring person.
Mia caught sight of a red haired Ravenclaw and walked over to her. She looked nervous, and was clutching a book to her chest. She glanced between people, and generally looked anxious. Perfect.
Mia speed-walked over to the red haired girl and smiled at her.
"Hello. I am Mia Alexander. Slytherin, First Year. Care to join me on a walk to that tree over there? "
Mia gestured at a tree near the two, and looked back at the girl, hopeful.

The crowds bustled around Abi as she stood. There were stalls laden with interesting goods either side of her and up ahead some luscious looking grassy grounds with trees dense with pink and white blossoms. Lots of children, some in groups, some alone reading books or eating, sat among the greenery in their robes. It was actually somewhat telling what year a student was in from the state of their robes. Most first years wore slightly large but very clean and crisp black robes where as students in the years above wore well-fitting but slightly limp fabrics. This fact was an interesting observation. Abi had dazed off slightly in this thought as suddenly a close voice, directed at her, broke through her thoughts. She jumped as a girl she hadn't noticed tried to get her attention, looking at her seemingly without nerve. Crisp black robes, slightly large: a first year like her!
"Oh, hi! I'm Abi, Ravenclaw, sure!" She smiled welcomingly, wide eyed and happy that she hadn't had to approach anyone, and began to walk with the girl "How are you finding it so far? What have you been doing since you started?"
Thinking back to her time here so far, Abi hadn't actually done much, mostly looking around the building and grounds on her own and learning about the structure of the schooling system. Maybe this could be an opportunity to actually get involved instead of observing from the sides.

Mia seemed to have startled the girl a bit. She took a step back.
"Oh, hi! I'm Abi, Ravenclaw, sure! How are you finding it so far? What have you been doing since you started?"
They started walking, and Mia took a moment to study the girl closely. She was relatively short compared to the other first years, however not obscenely so, and Mia was short as well, so she-Abi-had no advantage. The girl had classic Irish ginger hair that was long- but not extremely so- and freckles that dotted her face. Mia opened her mouth to respond to heer query.
"Blossomfest has been amazing so far, though I haven't participated in many of the activities."
Mia brushed a piece of hair behind her ear and kept talking, aware of her surroundings.
"And Hogwarts? I love it. This whole experience- I've been dreaming of it for as long as I can remember."
Mia smiled and continued walking. When they finally reached the shady spot under the tree, Mia pulled a blanket out of her basket, and laid it on the ground. After it was settled, Mia sat down on it, placing her basket next to her.
"Undetectable Extension Charm. Ministry Approved."
Mia explained this just incase she was a Muggle-born. Or just not knowlageable about these kinds of things.
"What about you? How are you finding it so far? What have you been doing since you started?"
