It was late. The moon rising in the night sky. Only a hour before curfew. A breeze blew over the grounds creating a eerie feel.

Henry Knight skipped dinner that night, he choose to avoid his friends and others. Choosing to be alone that night because all he could think about is the full moon that would rise in the sky tomorrow night.

Tomorrow would be a full moon. Henry would be forced to transform into a werewolf, a creature that the third year have grown to fear and hide away in a place that only reminded him of the isolation he feels on a daily basis.

Henry climbed the stairs toward the astronomy tower, he didn't care if the professor caught him or gave him detention. Those thoughts were fall from his mind as he walk across the floor toward the railing.

The teenage leaned his arms aginest the railing as he looked out. Blue eyes examining the darkness that enclosed the school. There was no hiding from it, sooner or later it came.

The lake rippled through the minutes as a cool breeze blew by. Henry took a breath, closing his eyes for a moment. The night was silent and peaceful. It felt like for a moment time have stopped and everything is peaceful. Everything is normal.

Taking steady breaths. Henry kept his eyes closed wanting the moment to last longer. Wanting to stand there at the railing of the astronomy tower for a bit longer. To imagine that the soft glow of the moonlight above is the full moon tomorrow and that he didn't transform. That he was human.

Human. Being human. Having humanity. A strange word that can mean different phases almost indicating that being human is something that everyone wanted. That everyone needed to be...

Henry opened his eyes. Blue eyes looking out at the grounds of his hogwarts as his mind rattle, afraid of what will come tomorrow night. He didn't want to transform into a werewolf and hide away from the others, he didn't want to be different. To be a outsider. All the teen ever wanted was to fit in. To be normal...

The teen gripped the railing a bit tigh as he looked down, strands of his brown hair falling over his eyes as he looked at the classroom floor. Biting his bottom lip as thoughts swirled inside along with that familiar little voice.

'You'll never fit in'

'You can never be yourself'

'They'll all judge you'

'They'll ignore you and whisper about you'

'They'll fear you like the monster you are'

'A Monster'

'Your a monster!'

'A freak and if they knew that then they would fear you'

He held onto the railing tighter. Shaking his head a little as his knuckles turned white and breath got quicken and heavier. The teen closed his eyes tight. Biting his lip to hide his emotions and combat the little voice ringing in his ear.

'You can't hide from the fact'

'You can lie to others but not to yourself'

'Your a werewolf'

'Your a monster'

'Your a freak'

'Your a creature of the night'

'Others will always fear you and view yoi differently'

'But why should you hide your true self'

'Why should you hide your true identity from them'

'Embrace yourself and run free'

'Crature of the night'

"Screw Off!"

Henry called out squeezing the railing in his hands, his knuckles a pale white almost like a ghost. The tightness he was holding onto it and the emotions within him blinding up. Minute by minute.

Until...

The teen takimg deep breath lost his gripped on the railing and bought his hands slamming down to his sides, taking deep heavy breaths in the middle of night. Alone. A mixture of silence and darkness surrounded him. Drawing him closer. Talking to him by that little voice in his ear.

'Your tried of hiding'

'Of pretending to be someone else'

'Of being someone that others want you to be'

'Of being outlasted for who you are'

'Why should you hide'

'From the ones who call you a freak and monster'

'From the ones who created the rumors and prejudice'

'From the ones who will never understand you or know you'

'But will always judge you'

'Why run'

'When you can embrace yourself, crature of the night and show them all your howl'

Takimg a few steps back, Henry placed his hands over his ears attempting to block out the voice as he shook his head speaking to himself, " go away... go away... you don't know me, that isn't what I want! Go away!" The teenage held his ears tightly, bending over and aiming his eyes for the ground ad he squinted his eyes attempting to block out the voice.

'Embrace yourself'

'Let the wolf out'

'Let it be free and run'

'Run!'

'You did everything they wanted'

'You hid away for your whole life'

'Now Embrace yourself and let the world see who you really are'

'Let the wolf out'

'Take your place as a apala'

'As a creature of the night'

"Go away!"

Henry shouted as he clutched his ears tighter with his hands, bending over as he took a few steps backwards.

"Go away! Go away! Get away from me!"

The teen cried out. Takimg steps backwards toward the entrance of the astronomy tower, past the desks where the students sat for their lessons and the large viewing areas where they were able to gaze at the stars. Past the classroom where for brief moments the teen could feel normal.

'You are a crature of the night'

'You are a monster'

'You are a freak'

'You are a werewolf'

'Stop hiding and show the world who you are'

" I can't hear you! Go away! Go away...."

Henry spoke out feeling himself fall to his knees still covering his ears. The words spiraling around his mind. Sounding off, shouting at him becoming louder and louder.

The teen felt his body shake. Desperate to keep his fury secret and emotions hidden away from all those that were in the castle. Desperate to appear normal to the ones who didn't know.... to them all.... after all the boy was taught that werewolves were dangerous and outcasts, that he needed to hide the fact that he was one to from everyone unless he wanted to be out casted from society.

Henry too small breaths he wanted to be normal, to fit in. He didn't want to be different or out casted from society but he was a third year now. There would be first year wolves that never experienced a transformed at Hogwarts. He would be one of the older werewolves now and wasn't it his responsibility to help them, aid them witu their transformations, protect them from the prejudice and rumors.

But how could he when he still view himself as a monster. When he hadn't yet learned to embrace his werewolf side and choose to hide it...

"Mr Knight, I believe."

If the Slytherin turned around, he would be face to face with Professor Nigel Read, the teacher stood with his back on the wall next to the entrance door, leaning against it.

Nigel may not have had deep conversations or even small talks with all of his students, but he remembered each of their names and in which year they were. He saw them in class and wanted them to feel welcomed and accepted, thus making the effort to remember at least the very basic identity of the teenagers.

Still facing Henry, he spoke quietly and clearly, "As a third year, Mr Knight, I know you know better than to visit the Astronomy Tower without getting a permission beforehand. As for emergency consultation with me, I remember mentioning it on the first day of our class, yes you students are allowed to come to me without prior notice, but you must knock at my door immediately, not roaming around unsupervised."

As the young professor spoke, he slowly changed his posture so that he was standing straight. His hands were held tightly at his side and he was looking straight at Henry.

"Now. Do you wish to have a conversation with me in the office or return to your common room? I'm afraid staying here isn't an option."

'Creature of the night'

Henry held his hands aginest his ears, kneeling on the ground with his blue eyes peering down at the cracks of the floor.

'A monster'

The teen felt his body shake, emotions circled around him with his anxiety thundering over him. A battle raged within the young lad, one similar to a battle between darkness and light.

'how can you help others if you can't help yourself'

Henry took a breath, holding his ears with his hands. Determined to block out the voice whispering in his mind. Determined to block out his emotions. To hide them from the world, so others wouldn't know. So they wouldn't see who- what he truly is. A werewolf. A monster. A creature of the night.

"Mr Knight, I believe."

A voice cut through the silence. Henry instantly looked up and turned his head, blue eyes landing on the astronomy professor.

Henry took a breath, hiding his emotions and anxiety as best he could. However his eyes wide and remained fill of fear and panic. His body shook a bit as he got to his feet, holding his arms aginest his chest as he looked at the professor.

Listening to his words, Henry tried to speak but couldn't. His mind wasn't letting him, taking a deep breath the teen looked at the man. Henry always enjoyed astronomy and usually took more time to study the class to maintain O's, Professor Read was one of the staff members who he liked and admired quite a lot to. Which was strange since he seem to have a general distrust over majority of the professors...

"uh yes, professor. I remember," Henry spoke softly, eyes looking at the professor. The blue of his eyes surrounded with fear and panicked that he couldn't block out or hide like usual. However the professor's next words caught the teen off guard, his body shook a bit as he looked at the man.

He thought he would be in trouble, have detention or lose house points even but he didn't hear any form of punishment for breaking curfew that night from the man. Odd.

"You n..not going to g..give me detention, professor" Henry asked his stutter breaking through his sentence which bothered the lad greatly, he never liked his stutter and spent years to get rid of it. Now in that one night, it returned and was affecting him.

Henry looked at the stairs leading away from the tower he's currently standing in then look back at the professor, takimg a moment to think before asking " I don't want to take up any of your time tonight, sir but if you don't mind and allow me to. Could I ask you a few questions?"

The Slytherin in front him asked Nigel if he would not give any detention. The boy's reaction was totally understandable, and the Astronomy professor could remember that when he himself was a student, he usually assumed the breaking of a rule would result in some kind of punishment, be it detention, warning, or loss of house points or a certain privilege.

There were also times when teenage Nigel could not understand, or considered it unfair, when a rule-breaker seemed to get away with what they had done; and even as an adult, the American did not tolerate rule-breaking easily. However, now he also understood better that there were times an exception ought to be made.

Tonight, he still did not have the slightest idea what brought Henry Knight to the Astronomy Tower, and in that hour, too. It was just an hour before the curfew, so it was not very late actually, but still...

"Not without understanding your situation," he finally answered the third year's question regarding detention. "That said, you may or may not receive punishment for what you did tonight. It depends." Boy, he wanted to explain that the Astronomy Tower rule was decided at first place to ensure students' safety, but the children themselves might or might not understand, or even consider it silly or unnecessary. Therefore he did not say a word about this.

The brunette Slytherin requested time to ask the teacher a few question, and Nigel nodded to signal his approval. His paternal nature was intrigued, he would like to listen to the boy's explanation and questions, to help him. On side note as well, what Henry would like to say to him was very likely to decide whether the kid was entitled a punishment for tonight's action.

"Please do. But I would much prefer it if we discuss in my office instead of here. In addition to what I said in class about you were always welcomed to go there, the office is warmer than this balcony and you'll have more privacy when you ask the questions you have in mind."

Gesturing with his hand, the professor signaled to Henry that they both had to leave right away for the office.

Henry nodded toward the professor, the chance of detention or loss of house points didn't worry the lad that much as he tried his hardest to hide his emotions and panic behind the 'barrier' that night. He was mostly successful, his face looked focus and breathing slowed but his blue eyes still laid surrounded in fear and his body shook occasionally when he moved or spoke.

The teen wasn't concerned about receiving punishment that night, only found it strange that there would be a possibility that he wouldn't receive any. Looking upon the professor, his blue gaze looked up at the man as he wondered how different he was from the other professor and staff members at Hogwarts. Even the prefects, who are his fellow prefects haven't been this laxed with the rules at least with Henry's experiences with them.

The young teen listened to the man's words, noding to them as he held his arms to his chest a attempt to hide the panic and fear looming around him fueling his anxiety. Tentatively, Henry took a careful steps closer to the astronomy professor and his office.

Waking a bit slow as he went across the astronomy tower, stopping and looking back at the balcony and the sky. The shining stars looking down at him, reminding him of what was and was is.

Turning back toward the professor, nodding toward him as he stepped inside his office unsure what to do next. Stand or sit? The teen reminded standing, holding his arms to his chest as he spoke" are you sure you have time, professor?" Henry looked thr man over as he took a step further into his office, casting a gaze around before quickly finding the man's eyes and continuing" wouldn't it be simpler for you to give me detention and I leave for my common room?"

They arrived at the office, and Nigel unlocked it before inviting the third year in. Turning on the lights, he reached for his chair and sat.

On the other hand, Henry looked as if he could not decide whether to sit down on the guest's chair or stand up. Nigel noticed this, but he said nothing about it. He decided to let the kid be, believing that if he (the Slytherin, not the professor) found it more comfortable to stand then he could stand, or if he preferred to sit then he may sit.

The teacher was more interested in Henry's pose: the teen had his arms crossed over his breast. From several psychological research he had read, Nigel recognised this as an unconscious attempt to protect oneself, and immediately his brain made a hypothesis that the teen was afraid of something. He might be afraid of the Astronomy professor who had just caught him breaking a rule, or he may be scared of something else, something he might want to tell about to Nigel (and perhaps he was also scared or unsure if he ought to do so).

Wanting to comfort the Slytherin and help him, Nigel decided to let him express his feelings and thoughts in his own way. The young American did not push or dictate, but instead merely gently answered the questions addressed by the kid, "I do have time." A slight pause. "It would be easier, yes. But sometimes the easy path is not the right path. As for tonight, I'm not looking to punish or dismiss you. I'd rather understand what brought you to the Astronomy Tower and listen to what you said you'd like to tell me."

Henry usually only encountered professors during classe, when he did the third year tended to fade in the background so this is a new experience for him. Then again, the teen felt differnt abiut the astronomy professor perhaps he was differnt from the others as well at least that is what drifting in the young lad's mind.

Henry took a small step toward the chair still holding his arms across his chest when he heard the professor's words, nodding slightly. The third year tried his best to maintain eye contact, occasionally finding it difficult with his panicking and looking down at the floor boards for a moment before back up at the professor.

Listening to the professor's words, Henry dropped his head. His blue gaze focused on a crack in one of the floor boards, watching it carefully as he felt his breathing quickn a little. His head thobed and arms shook a little as the third year was deciding what to do and what to say.

Slowly looking up at the professor but his head still hung low, Henry took a shaky breath as he spoke"I didn't mean to stay out long, it's just the stars and your classroom is a place that calms me and uh helps me think," his neck hairs tickled a little as he brought his blue gaze to the door for a moment. A curiously thought flowed in, he wondered what stars were visible that night.

Tuening back to look at the professor, Henry found the words sticking to his mouth unable to speak as he choked a little. Coughing, the boy took another shakey breath brfore continuing"especially on- on... uh nights before the full moon." Henry felt it awkward or strange admitting his thoughts and emotions to another but he also felt that this professor was different, he felt almost comfort from the man as his anxiety raged on.

Some say that introverts have a natural talent in listening actively; it may not be entirely a mere stereotype. Nigel, for one, fit quite perfectly with this. He was not a fan of interrupting someone who was speaking, unless they wasted his time. But this teenager, Henry Knight, did not; he had troubles and questions and was trying to find the solutions by consulting with Nigel. He was not like, for instance, a professor who used dozens of minutes during class time bragging about the details of his published studies instead of teaching. And Nigel very much wanted to help the Slytherin.

He gave the boy time to talk, but Henry did not say much. All he mentioned was that the stars and the Astronomy classroom could calm him down and help him think, particularly in the evenings just before the full moon. It might not be much, but Nigel suddenly realised how much courage it took for Henry to say the last clause. A non-human enthusiast, the teacher understood very well why the pupil in front of him was sensitive to full moon.

Since the kid did not seem to want to talk more currently, Nigel gave him a nod. But he himself did not talk much either, all he said following the nod was, "On evenings before the full moon. I see. Pray proceed." The Astronomy professor decided to save the mention about safety in the Astronomy Tower for later.

There wasn't any questions or prejudices. Or concerns or worry about being so close to a non human.

The teen looked at the professor, worried that there would be something but was taken back from the man's reponse. There was none. Listening to his words. The teen felt strange but also strangely comforting in that office. He was use to others judging him for being a werewolf, for the prejudice abd rumours often circling around. For the concern or worry of others safety when he's in the room. So this felt different, a good different.

The teen held his arms over his chest a bit tighter as he took a breath, taling little steps back and forth. Unsure how to continue. Taking a moment the teen spoke"on nights of the full moon, when I- uh when I-" the teen couldn't say it. Transform. It felt to overwhelming. Taking breaths the teen feot hid arms shake a little as he looked for another word, a phase even that could describe the pain without the fear he holds for those nights.

"On f... full moon nights when I... I changed to uh it," Henry spoke it was broken down but allowed the teen to speak without fear for himself or what he becomes as he continued"I don't feel normal, like me. I don't feel human or like I belong here and then if I see my reflection uh I panic. I'm afraid about hurting someone, I feel like a monster and those nights sometimes c... c.. com- comfirm it," the teen tensed up a bit on the word 'monster' dropping his head as his eyes darted toward the door. Images of the burning stars and constellations flooded his mind. The teen took a breath, relaxing a bit.

Shaking a bit as he looked up, trying to allow himself to make eye contact with the professor as he spoke"the stars and constellations they help. They help me r... remember that I'm not a monster but I just don't always belive that," Henry felt hinself tighten his grip on his arns and stumbled forward a little. Quite quickly taking a seat, the lad couldn't handle standing anymore. His mind focusing on his anxiety and energy focusing on his breathing. There was little focusing on standing.

Henry slid into the guest's chair not with ease but with a scared attitude, and Nigel felt sorry for him. The teenager was one more victim of prejudice, a thing Nigel disliked very much. He did not like it for there were lots of untruths and false assumptions in prejudice; at the very best, prejudice is one-sided, the voice of majority but never of the minority and the oppressed.

But even though he felt sorry, the teacher did not want to show it. He did not know Henry well enough to predict whether or not the Slytherin would accept being sympathised with that way, and not everyone could accept being pitied by others. Thus, the young American kept his facial expression serious but gentle and his tone neutral.

He started by giving the teen boy a response regarding stargazing and the calming effect it may bring. "Stars are lovely," he agreed, nodding his head. "I also find gazing at them wonderful. Sometimes it calms me down, at other times it brings my philosophical side out." The Astronomy professor smiled a little at his own words.

Stars filled the darkness "with order and light" like soldier who kept watch in the night, some thoughts. Others said gazing at them made them wonder if the stars' glory exceeded that of humans'. All these thoughts ran in Nigel's head, but he decided against telling Henry. Not that the boy would not understand, or that Nigel was concerned about being judged as a weirdo, but because they were not there to chat about stars. It was a side talk, but the main topic of their discussion tonight was the Slytherin's feeling about his condition.

Therefore, after pausing for quite a short time, the teacher tried one way to approach him in talking about his condition and identity. "I did read here and there about people like you, people who are sensitive about full moons, but I've never experienced the same. So please forgive me if you disagree with my, uh, opinion." Taking a breath, Nigel continued, "The way I see it, on full moons you are not yourself. Those evenings, it's as if someone has given you a potion that takes over your brain and heart, and it makes you... fall asleep while someone else - or something else - borrows your physical body and orders it to follow their will. I'll say, just like what happens to Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde. And thanks to the Wolfsbane Potion we have today, Mr Hyde can't fully steals Dr Jekyll's body even when he comes for a visit. You, Henry, are Dr Jekyll; the... one who pays a visit every full moon is Mr Hyde."

The professor said all at both seriously and gently. He, of course, did not know for sure if the teen understood fully what he had just said, or even if he knew who Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde were. However, Nigel said nothing more for the moment. He did not even look at the Slytherin all the time. He wanted to give the brunette some time to respond, but he would not pressure the boy for it, and staring at him the whole time could make the impression that he was being pushed to talk and give a response.

Nigel looked at his bookshelves every now and then as if he was looking for a book that would explain to Henry who Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde were.
