Decorating cookies while meeting new people and making new friends sounded like a great idea. Samantha had met a lot of new people during errands and she had always enjoyed them. So it was no surprise that she had decided to join the cookie decorating errand.

Samantha entered the beautifully decorated great hall with a big smile and listened to what Willow was telling every student who entered. Just two cookies? That wasn't much. Even though the young girl disliked the number of cookies they were allowed to decorate, she did not complain. After she had carefully listened to the prefect, she started to walk around. She was curious to see what all the options were. There were sugar cookies in various shapes and gingerbread cookies. Samantha's eyes scanned all the shapes, what would she like to decorate? Maybe she could make a gingerbread man, that would look cute. Maybe she could use some sprinkles to give him hair and she could use a candy cane as a walking stick for the little man.

After she had decided how she was going to decorate her first cookie, she started looking for a place to sit. There were already many students sitting on the decorating tables. Samantha recognized some of the other students. A couple of students she had met because of dueling and others she had met in another errand or the train. On was of the tables was a group of students, most of them Samantha already knew. Well, she didn't know them that well, she only knew their names and had talked to them once or twice. The group consisted out of Juniper, the girl who was on fire, Henry, who Sam had met at a previous errand, Rose, who she had met in a duel, Cody, who Samantha had also dueled with, and two unknown girls who looked a lot like each other. Samantha always liked to know new people, so the decision to join the group and get to know the two girls was an easy one.

The brunette made her way to the group and smiled at all of them. "Hi Juniper, Henry and Rose," Because she didn't know the names of the two girls she just gave them a little smile. "Is it alright if I join?" Assuming they would say yes to her she sat down. The brunette gave Rose a little smile. Even though they had been opponents when they first met, Samantha didn't have any hard feelings towards Rose. Samantha hoped that she would show that with her adorable smile.

Except for the other humans, there also seemed to be some animals in the group, something the young girl did not like. When Samantha noticed the cat, which had jumped in Juni's lap, she moved a bit away from it. She didn't want the cats to come close to the masterpiece, she would make on the cookies.

"I like your hat, Juni!" she said as her focus shifted away from the animal. The Santa hat looked very cute. After Samantha complimented the girl, she turned her attention to the unknown girls. "I'm Samantha, what are your names?" First she looked at the girl with red highlights and then her eyes moved to the brunette. "You guys look quite similar, are you siblings? Twins?"

Samantha started working on her first cookie, the ginger man. Earlier she had decided that she would give him hair, so that was the first thing she did. After that, she used blue icing to make a sweater for the little guy. She used one of the spatulas to smooth out the icing and hoped she wouldn't ruin the amazing sweater. A green pair of pants and brown shoes she added to the ginger man with the use of icing. When the ginger man was fully dressed, she added little details. She gave him some eyes and a mouth, added pockets to the pants, and gave the cookie his walking stick. She was very proud of her work and in her eyes it was perfect, but in reality, it wasn't that good. If somebody would tell her that, she would be very disappointed and she wouldn't believe them at all.

Henry offered the girls something to drink and Samantha politely declined. She had more attention for the cat, which was the same one from the errand where she had seen Henry last. The cat rubbed against Lin's arm and Juniper's, and Samantha carefully watched the animal. She wasn't a big fan of animals, excluding her amazing perfect little owl of course, but tried not to show it too much. After all, disliking somebody's pet wasn't the best way to befriend them, she had learned that a couple of months ago.

When Rose started talking, Samantha was very surprised. "Henry is your brother? You don't look much alike?" It was possible, not all siblings looked much alike, but Samantha still found it strange. She had never thought Henry and Rose to be related. Of course, she didn't know both very well, but it still surprised her.

When Rose complimented the cookies, Sam wanted to know what everybody thought of her amazing cookie. "What do you think of mine?" she asked everybody proudly. In her mind the cookie was perfect, but really it wasn't. In some places, the icing was really thin, and in others there wasn't even any, one of the eyes was bigger than the other and the mouth wasn't straight.

Willow hadn't had time to make her way to the tables to make her own spectacular cookie designs, but she had already set aside some for her to decorate prior to the event starting. The girl who was working the event deserved to be able to take part in the festivities too!

It wasn't long after people started coming in that a certain troublesome Hufflepuff made her way up to her. She had already given him detention twice, and he was now on the duelling team. Although, she couldn't ever be mad at someone joining the team. It was a fantastic opportunity and they were always hurting for duellists. She almost hadn't been able to process what he was saying by the time she had refocused her attention from the event to him.

It wasn't the first apology she had gotten from the boy, and surely not the last. Her eye's narrowed when she followed his glare over to two girls. Was this some kind of joke? She glanced between him and the girls, unsure of how to respond. "Cody now really isn't the... time. I'm sorry, I have to attend to the event." She stepped away from him, shaking her head mildly in confusion.

She was intercepted by someone she didn't recognize apart from welcoming him into the event. He handed her a cookie with gumdrop eyes and her heart melted just a little bit. It was ever so adorable, and it was nice to be thanked for the work that she, and many others, had done. "Thank you, really. Happy Yule!" She didn't exactly know what he meant by the 'or whatever' but she chose to ignore it.

As she took a bite of the cookie she continued welcoming people in, many familiar, some new faces. She was really happy with how many people were turning up. It made her heart grow warm.

Vale's wearing black, casual wear with her hair unusually down without ponytails.
Cookies. Typically sweet in taste; artificially created with a mixture of other chemicals. An art that took practice and skill, no doubt about it. Vale figured that out growing up by now, when her mother would make her own dishes involving sweets and other baked goods.

Vale slowly was reminded of home when she was already sampling many of these sweets as a form of 'study' once she arrived.

She only took to stopping in her sampling when she remembered that she could take to making sweets as well.

"Two cookies, for us to make? You can work on one, and I'll work on the other, Ashes." Vale held in one of her arms a doll, abet a bit disleveled with some need for some stitches. The doll did not have a voice worth hearing, but Vale spoke to it like it was another person. She took to even giving it its own seat next to her as she took to obtaining two base cookies for them (mostly Vale) to work on.

"A skull! A brilliant choice, Ashes." The young girl nodded, moving her hands to grab for frosting and other decorative material for the cookies at hand. The doll sat lump in its chair, not doing anything worth noting on its own.

"Hm, I don't know...guess I'll make a skull too." Vale went right to work, creating a human skull design on her own cookie. The quiet behavior that Vale was taking was, well, rather odd given her usual. Instead of her energetic, grotesque manner that she always put on display for the world, she was more...relaxed. Almost even normal, by social terms. Prehaps it was because most people were gone for the holidays, or she had nobody she knew to really pull her strange behavior out. Or even, Vale just decided to relax herself for the holidays.

Whatever the case, she was at school for the holidays, and she was giving everyone a break from worrying about her destroying the world around them for the time being.

"You think Familia will eat cookie crumbs?" The doll didn't answer back. "You're right. Only bugs and small critters. Who knew a spider could be so picky in the act of survival?" As Vale chatted away with her small doll, she built up her own painted cookie. A treat that she will delightfully eat later to her own fulfillment once finished.
If Vale isn't interacted with, she can be assumed to have exited the thread.

"I am going to Great Hall"Cash stated to Aero while fixing their outfit of the day in front of the mirror that located in their dorm room. "Can I come?"Aero inquired the green eyes. "Absolutely not!"They expressed. Aero then stood up from the corner of Cash's bed and looked at them through the mirror.

Cash tried not to glance at their mirror and looked back at Aero but it seems their attempt is futile. When Cash gazed their beloved snake back through the mirror, Aero pulled a 'puppy dog eyes' as the best as he could to imitate the expression. "Fine! You can come with,"And just like that Cash resolved was shattered.

"But you know the drill, yeah?"They asked the black and white snake. Aero nodded his head and slithers away until he resides in one of Cash's black skinny jeans pockets. "'l'll be home for Christmas, you can plan on me. Please have snow and mistletoe and presents by the tree,"The green eyes sang as they ventured until they reach the Great Hall.

Upon arriving at the Great Hall, they looked up at the ceiling that was enchanted so it the resemblance of snow falling on them. The Hall already bustling with students that eager to show their creative side. It seems Yule Week will test the creative side of Cash. Good thing Cash has some skill when it comes down to decorating cookies.

After taking some of the snacks that were provided (they took a chocolate chip, snickerdoodles, and a glass of water); the Cuban descendant took two shapes of sugar cookies. The first one is the candy cane and the second cookie is in a snowflake shape. The young Ironwoods then took with them some icing bags in red, green, and white color.

Their green eyes scanned the Hall, it seems some people were already in a group. Cash was about to come up to Henry but they stopped their tracks when they saw Sam was in the same group as the blue-eyed boy. And so the young socialite looked for another place that is not too crowded. Christmas always brings the blue (no pun intended since Cash wears blue sweatshirt) in them.

Once Cash arrived at the empty table, they laid down all the things that they just carried. They pushed aside the snacks a bit away. So if anything happened, it will not ruin their creations. It seems Aero can feel that the situation is safe enough for him to come out from his hiding place. Aero then slithers out from Cash's pocket and lays rest atop the table.

"Cookie!"The 11 months old snake exclaimed. "Quite!"Cash said to their snake. Aero then close his eyes and try to have a short nap while Cash finished their little project. First, Cash took the candy cane shape of a cookie. They smeared evenly the white icing. Once the top layer is covered with enough white icing, Cash draws red lines using the red icing along with the shape of the cookie.

The green eyes then examined the first cookie that they decorated. Once Cash was satisfied with how it turned out, they moved to the next cookie. The snowflake one is a bit tricky. Just like what they have done with the candy cane, Cash covered the cookie with white icing then switched to the green icing to make lines imitated how a snowflake should be like.

Adding little green dots here and there and finally, Cash is done decorating both of the cookies. The young socialite then looked at their small masterpieces. Decorating cookies bring a nostalgic feeling. Because when they were little, it is a pastime activity that Cash and their mother enjoyed and shared and it almost put them into tears.

Cash then took a deep breath to calm their inner sadness, let out a sigh then start munching on the food and beverage that they bring earlier.

In all honesty, it certainly didn't feel like Adelaide had been at Hogwarts for 4 months already. Time really does fly when you're having fun. She loved everything about Hogwarts, but she was also still excited to be able to go home and spend time with her family over the Christmas break. Her birthday was also coming up, which was certainly a plus. When she heard about the Yule Celebration week taking place between the 19th and 21st, she obviously couldn't say no to attending the festivities. The second event was a Cookie Decorating event, and Adelaide's stomach was already rumbling at the thought of some delicious cookies.

She entered the Great Hall, marveling at the beautiful Christmas decorations that had been set up by the house elves. They really did outdo themselves. She made her way over to a free seat and sat down, looking at the array of Christmas themed cookies set out in front of her. After looking at each one, she settled on a snowman shaped one. She grabbed a piping bag with white icing and started by doing the snowman's body. Struck with some sudden inspiration, she grabbed a bag with blue icing and drew a blue scarf onto the snowman for Ravenclaw, you know; house pride and all that. For the face, she drew the eyes and smile on with black icing and finished the face off with orange icing for it's carrot nose. Finally, she used some gumdrops for the buttons.

Once she was done, she sat back and admired her design. Maybe she should start designing cookies more often, because it certainly did look like a work of art, in her opinion. She didn't particularly want to destroy her amazing artwork just yet, but the cookie looked so delicious that she couldn't resist. She picked up the cookie, silently apologizing to it before she took a bite of it. It tasted delicious, which made her feel slightly less guilty. After she finished, she got up from her seat and left the Great Hall.

Victoria was excited to attend Hogwarts' cookie decorating event with her friends Will and Amy. Since Victoria also paints in real life, she didn't think she would have any trouble decorating the cookie.

Victoria did not go home in her first year just to attend this event, she stayed at Hogwarts.
When Victoria went to the event, she saw that most people were decorating her cookies and got some ideas from everyone. She went to an empty table and muttered.

"Come on, how hard can it be?"
...........
Victoria had been trying for her cookie for almost half an hour. She made her cookies in the shape of a snow globe. Because she really was a snow globe lover, she. Inside his globe was a Christmas tree. Lots of gifts underneath. She smiled when she made the final details and finished her cookie. "That's it," she thought.

But when Victoria looked at the professionalism of the upper classes, she realized that her own cookie looked a little small. She was really excited to bake and eat the She cookies.

His friend William said, "Very well done, Vic!" Hearing what he said, she smiled and thanked him. While William was making an ordinary snowman, Amy had made a Santa cookie.

People were slowly leaving while most of their cookies were running out. Victoria felt very tired. She had made her first cookie after all. She missed her family, but she knew the day was beautiful enough to call it longing. She took the extra cookies she had made and wrapped them and sent them to her family. It was the best Christmas the perfect Victoria had ever had.

Another day, another Yuletide celebration. Cookie decorating.. that’s what she heard from the other students. It was just several days before they’ll be going home for the holidays, so there isn’t many activities left for her to do. It is very lame, she realized that, but she’s bored, very bored. So why not join the other lame students to make lame cookies right? She creases her eyebrows disappointed in herself that she doesn’t have any better activities other than this.

She starts walking towards the great hall, where the activities are held. This time, she won't embarrass herself by putting too much effort into her craft. No, today she’s going to relax and who knows she might find someone to pry on, or maybe *’admiring’* the other’s cookies creation.

The great hall is decorated in snow falling on the ceiling, it looks so real that Pea pulls out her hands to try to catch a snowflake. But of course, it didn't land on her hand, it just disappear mid-air, which sort of disappoint her. She sees the Hufflepuff prefect, and Pea assumed she is the one that held the activity. She greeted her with a nod and a small smile and went to an empty table. She scanned the place as she saw familiar faces like the first-year students that she’s in the same class with. There's one with dark hair that she remember who shares classes with Pea, a fellow Slytherin too, if she is not mistaken, Vale is her name. Also, there’s another one that looks familiar but she could not recall her name.. Vicky? Victoria? Ugh, whatever...

She also sees Cash, the person she comes with for the snowflake-making activity, also possibly a friend? That word sounded strange to her. “Glad to see you here Cash, at least I was not by myself surrounded by these….” she paused for several seconds trying to find a less vulgar word. “….Nitwits”

Then she went into the snacks table, grabs some sweets she can munch on while doing this positively absurd activity. On the way back she also grabs a couple of cookies, one shapes like snowmen another a snowflake. And return to the table near Cash. She grabs a piping bag filled with buttercream, but when she was about to start decorating, suddenly the bag just burst EVERYWHERE.

“WHAT ON EARTH!?” She shrieks and sees the cream has not just burst all over the table, but also some part of her sweater. You know what? That’s it. “OKAY, I’M DONE! here is my cookie!” She grabs her cookie which is covered by white cream and left in a hurry looking like she has been fiercely insulted by the buttercream. She has no idea how it happens, there’s a possibility she squeezes too hard that it exploded but she’s not gonna blame herself obviously. But all she knows is that she just needs to get out of here.

The halls of filled with the sweet scent of ginger and sugar, cinnamon and butter, and Avery is all for it. Skipping down the halls, dressed in celebratory red, she starts to think about what she wants to do. A gingerbread house sounds too hard for the girl, and she knows she will only be upset when it does not work out the way she wants it. Instead, she plans to decorate a gingerbread man.

Entering the great hall, Avery makes her way over to the table with decorations. As she begins to grab a few cookies to decorate, Avery looks down and notices the dwindling piles. Once noticing this, the girl sets two of her three back down to make sure that there are enough for everyone.

The first year then looks around for someone she may recognize from a class to interact with, but the room is quickly filling up, so she decides to just decorate it herself. Sitting herself down at a table with some white frosting and her cookie in hand, Avery begins to decorate.

She starts with the face, drawing two dots and a curve to represent the eyes and the mouth. Once she is satisfied, Avery adds a bowtie and some designs around the cookie, making it look adorable. She smiles to herself, pleased with her work.

Cookies weren’t Simon’s strong suit. He never really liked them- the cookies that he had the misfortune of getting were always dry and crumbling. The frosting usually tasted like the modeling clay that his mother would give to him when he was around two, which he’d always end up eating. The only time he actually made cookies was when he was 9 on Christmas, when he had burnt the cookies so much that they were pure black all over. The charcoal smell did not fully go away until a week after the new year.
But it was almost time for Simon to go home, and he had nothing to show for it. His mother always loved cookies, all types- even the nutty ones that made Simon want to vomit. Even though his mother made it clear that she did not expect any presents, he was still going to give her some anyway. She did deserve it, after all. And even though a lot of people here looked like losers and idiots, he still wanted to make something for his mom.
He went over to the table, which had every topping imaginable- Gumdrops (which were disgusting), peppermints, every candy he could think of was there. It was convenient, but overwhelming.
There were others there too- most were in their first, second, or third year. One girl had made a skull cookie. It didn’t look that bad, he had to admit. But it was weird.
Simon grabbed a cookie and began frosting it- yellow and purple, of course. Those were the only acceptable colours. He made it into a striped pattern and added some peppermints. Satisfied with his work, he picked it up to admire it, only for its head to fall off.
"UGH." Simon groaned loudly. Now it was so ugly! He tried to glue it back with frosting. but it looked like it had a bandaged neck. He couldn't give this to his mother, it was terrible!
He stuffed it into the gift bag and tossed it aside. He'd just eat it later. Right now, he needs to make a new one. He picked up another cookie, held his piping bag steadily over the cookie, and began to frost it, making it as perfect as possible.
Soon, he was faced with a cookie with a perfectly straight line. Great! Now, if he kept this up, he would have the most perfect cookie to show his mother.
Simon looked closely at the yellow frosting, trying to make it as perfect as possible. With careful presion, he laid the stripe down- perfectly.
Now it was beautiful and professional. Simon did not know how nerve-wracking frosting a fucking cookie would be, but here he was, carefully working on one cookie. At least when his mother did it, she did it flawlessly on the first try. Why didn't he inherit that?
Just as he was about to finish frosting and move on to the next step, he heard a loud POP that startled him, making him jolt up and drop his piping bag on his cookie.
"Jesus Christ," he muttered, picking up his piping bag, which, lo and behold, had ruined his perfect cookie. Great. He knew this was going to go wrong somehow. Now he wouldn't even have a good cookie to give his mother, all because of some dimwitted Neanderthal who decided to pop their bag.
"WHAT ON EARTH?!" he heard a girl shriek, and looked up to see a girl holding a pipe bag that had exploded all over the table, and even worse, on her sweater, which looked fairly new.
Simon tried to suppress a laugh, but he let out a tiny giggle. He understood her pain- her sweater was nice and he hated getting outfits dirty- but why on earth would you wear a sweater to decorate cookies? It was obviously going to get ruined somehow. She should have at least worn an apron over it, but it was too late to tell her now.
The girl left quickly and Simon rested his head on the table and began to laugh into his hands. “Oh, god, poor girl,” He laughed, then looked back at his cookie. It looked all messed up.
Poor Mum, he thought. I completely ruined her gift. At this point, he couldn’t make any more cookies. He’d have to scrape the frosting off and start all over.
Simon began to scrape at the frosting with his finger, then popped a finger into his mouth. Yum! At least it tasted good. He scraped off more and more, popping fingerful after fingerful until most of the frosting was gone and it just looked like a regular cookie again. A blank canvas, ready to be beautified.
He was getting way too into this cookie stuff.

Della had thought the Great Hall was impressive when she first saw it on the night of the sorting ceremony. Slowly, its impressiveness had worn off—especially as her time at Hogwarts became increasingly more dangerous. Being in the Great Hall when it was decorated for Halloween was a particularly terrifying time, as it was filled with the pumpkins that had been attacking students. If anything this school seemed to march on no matter what happened to its student body.

And today they were decorating cookies. A perfectly normal activity for the holidays. (She was surprised she wasn't outside fighting Jack Frost himself.) And it was hard to ignore the Great Hall in all its Yule glory. Despite her chaotic first semester, Della couldn't help but be in the holiday spirit. And she would be going home for the holidays soon—time to recoup and reflect in the muggle world.

She took a seat not too far from another Gryffindor first year. He seemed to be struggling with the whole decorating part. Della watched him scoop all of his icing off into his mouth, leaving a naked cookie behind. Della smirked playfully, in an unusually jolly mood, "You know you're supposed to be putting the icing on the cookies, right?"

She turned to her own cookies. A candy cane shape for her cousin, a tree for her mother, and a snowman for her aunt. She began carefully piping on the different color icings, imagining she was in one of those memorizing and satisfying cookie decorating Instagram videos. (Another interesting prospect of going home—she had a lot of social media to catch up on!)
