Howard lunged forward with claws extended, allowing the momentum of his movement to power his swipe at the terrible creature that was currently burrowing into Serena. He would feel his elongated nails dig into the hardened flesh of the slug. Although the abomination was naturally armored his attack was still successful as the slug began to bleed. The Dhampir would not be the only one to attempt to destroy the vile creature once and for all. Hugh's presence could not be ignored as he tried to finish off the beast, but it was too quick for the part-giant. Serena's spell however would make direct contact and further damaged the slug. Even the school's owls were ready to defend the students as one swooped down onto the scene to lend to the attack. (Howard is currently unaware of Aurelia's animagus form.) Their combined efforts were enough to seriously harm the slug, but not enough to kill it.
Howard would come to Serena's side and she would beg for him to leave her to go and help Erin. His red eyes would shift towards the Slytherin and what a scene of horror it was. Her teeth lay at her feet, busted from the gums as the slugs erupted from her insides. She was left wounded and bleeding. Howard's first impulse was to rush to her aid. The girl was no friend of his, but no one deserved the hell that had been her life for the past years. There was no way to tell if she would ever recover from the damage done by the infestation of slugs, but they all owed it to her to try. However, just as Howard was about to run to help Erin any way he could another scream would escape Serena's lips. His eyes would shift to the slug still latched to her body. A moment of pure panic would wash over him. Who was he to help?! Erin would surely die tonight if they were not able to expel the slugs and heal her, but what if Serena's wound proved fatal? Could the part-goblin withstand another attack? A risk he could not take.
Howard shifted to Serena's side as she raised her wand to launch a healing spell in Erin's direction. He hoped to Merlin it would be enough to keep the Slytherin going as she made one last stand for survival. "I won't leave you!" The Dhampir called out as his focus shifted back to the slug. It was time for this thing to die! With all his might Howard would draw back his fist and attempt to plunge it into the slugs wounded backside.

Pain defined her existence. Pain blurred her sense of reality. Pain left her wounded, confused and feral. The abject terror, the sense of being constrained. The weight of a familiar stranger, of rausus spells that had froze her in place and left her nauseated. She could feel it, the upset deep in her stomach, a twisting ache that would come in g in waves, beckoning for release, an evacuation. There was that panicked urge to sit bolt upright, to heave whatever offense has left her stomach in such a sorry state but she could not. She could not turn her head, she could not even open her mouth.
She was going to drown.
A reasonable conclusion if there was one, the most likely end considering she could not protect her airway, she could not fight back and whatever it was, it was coming. The rush of the hot bile up her throat would fill her mouth with a foul taste. Her jaw would refuse to open, locked closed by the very spell that bound her. She did not expect something hard to breech her closed mouth, crashing through her teeth and prying her locked jaw open as it spilled onto the ground. A massive, dark slug with a chitinous exterior and a gleaming edifice.
The taste of copper would mingle with the bile. The shock of it all made her temporarily fail to notice the pain. The pain she could not react to but could suffer silently in this state. Her teeth, bloodied bits of white with long deep roots in some cases if they were withdrawn intact but many merely snapped off.
When the spell broke, she sat bolt upright, wheezing and coughing. Her air hunger and instinct to preserve her airway greater than her active aggression as she pushed/punched Burnett away. Blood and saliva would drip from her damaged and bleeding maw as the nausea persisted and another dark, living creature escaped. Her jaw, likely cracked from the ordeal would open wide sending a shock of pain from her mandible to her ears that was so great it left an audible ringing. Her hands would reah for her mouth, for what was bleeding only to feel the jagged remnants. The air would burn as the cool breeze met the exposed nerves and broken flesh.
She would fumble as she searched for her wand. She searched for the one aspect of her nature that she had always neglected. Her hand shook and she could feel her heartbeat in her head as she tried to cast the very worst thing she could possibly cast. "Finite Incantatem"

You smile, a little relieved, and nod your head in agreement. In fact, you were 99.9% sure that Shimizu-san would agree with you: no mud, no Matchmaking Booth. And you could go to the third activity. Otherwise, we'll see what happens. You call Sane who joins you with a smile. You are worried, trying to show it as little as possible: you see spells going off in all directions.
— Hi Sakura! Hello Shimizu-san. You both look... really amazing. Oh, did you guys plan the outfits, then?
You smile at Sana and laugh when she mentions your outfit matching Shimizu-san's. In fact, all you told her was that your kimono would be autumn coloured, so orange-red. If you are so well "matched", it's not your fault.
— Nah, I just told Shimizu-san that my kimono was autumnal. Think what you want but it wasn't really planned.
Suddenly, a noise that makes you jump. A spell has just been cast close to you. Wide-eyed, you look around and see chaos. What is it for? Just half a minute ago, everything was calm, people were friendly and everything was fine. Now you're wondering if anyone is dead. You quietly look at Shimizu-san and Sana to see if they've noticed the change in atmosphere. Of course they did. And Sana tries to catch your eye. The two girls exchange a look of understanding.
— What is happening? Is that normal? Are all Hogwarts students that uncivilized? I Think it's a good idea to leave here... to the harvesting festival? Maybe it's better there than here.
— I don't now what's happening here but yes, we should go. Shimizu-san? Do you come with us?
While trying to hide your immense fear and remain dignified, you hold on to Sana's hand and head towards the mini-farm. You don't even know if Shimizu-san is following you. You just want to get out of here quickly.Come with us dear friend Shimizu-san

Everything was fine, they were going to have a good day, doing some really fun activities. Or so Lin thought. Not being officially friends with Juni, Sophie had gone to see her friends and Lin had stayed with the redhead. Everything was fine. It used to be.
— Lin... Lin... Lin... what's going on over there?
— Yeah? Wait, what's going on here? Yeah, we're in a crazy school.
Lin had always dreamed of magic, ever since she was a child. To have magic powers, to go to a magic school, it was a dream come true. But here it was a dream. The reality is quite different. More brutal, more outspoken, more strange and annoying. Sometimes funnier. But not today.ReducioAnd the noise. Very loud, it assaulted Lin's ears and he forced himself to look. She wanted to see, to understand. And above all, to understand why and how this girl could spit out this slug. It was starting to rain. Lin was afraid, and she could see that Juni was like her.Without the blood
— What are they doing to that girl?
— I really don't now. I can only say one thing : shit.
ReducioUsually, when it rains, Lin is inside. Every time, she rushes to the window and watches the rain with a little nostalgic music. And she stays there, moving very little, until the rain stops. And if it's a storm, even better. Today, on October 29th, in the middle of the Samhain Festival, Lin is not thinking about zenitude at all. She just thinks that it will spread the blood puddles. And that's disgusting.
— The tent fell over! We have to try and help the people in there!
Despite all the horrors that were happening in the yard, Lin could not help but smile. For two seconds, but it was still a smile. Addressed to the storm. The big, rainy, incredible storm. The girl flinched at every flash of lightning, but loved those little moments. When Juni shouted that she was going to help people with the tent, Lin came back to reality. The prom tent had fallen down. Yes, the two first years were going to help.
— Yeah, let's go!
Lin grabbed Juni's hand and ran as fast as she could, trying not to slip in all that mud. Her concentration lost and her emotions took over, her eyes turned grey and her hair grew long at the shoulders.

@Galton Lansdale

Her fingers flexed, forcing water away from the knife handle she gripped. Narrowing gold's were locked; as she anticipated the slug squeezing itself from Erin's broken maw. At least until something else took her by surprise; effectively shifting her attention yet again. She felt something rain down- it was a little denser than the water from the sky, and fell differently. "Wh-" A fine spray hit her, spattering across her attire. The mystery liquid (or was it a powder?), mixing with the water on her clothes, reeked of toxicity. It stank of pesticides. She looked for her perpetrator, her sights falling to Galton Lansdale, and a can of... was that Slug Repellant? Xailah was fairly certain she was not a slug. Maybe a little wet like one, because of the rain but other than that... yep, not a slug. "Galton," clearly confused (and perhaps, a little insulted); Xailah temporarily broke focus as she tried to wave him, and whatever he was spraying, away. "Galton ssstop," her soggy dress sleeves sloshed his way, with a shloop sound. She squinted as if to prevent the mix of liquid from entering her eyes- despite the mixture never coming in contact with her face. It was reflexive.
To bring Slug Repellant to a ball- casually- you either had to be absolutely crackers, or very deft. Galton was very much both, in the eyes of many. Thank goodness he was on the students side... most of the time anyway. He continued to sprinkle the pesticide, around and on other students. He got a bit of it on Henry- the boy who had taken up job as healer- and another boy, the one who had knocked Jürgen unconscious. Xailah switched her sights back to Erin. The slug that had been leaving her mouth, left it, and landed with a wet plop among broken teeth and mud. The creature, terrifyingly pathetic, writhed in the moist bed. Then it darted. Quickly. Towards Xailah. The lioness stared the creature down, unflinchingly, readying her blade. When it was close enough for her to take a swipe, the invertebrate suddenly swerved. It wasn't the type of swerve meant for evading things- it was a slug, a creature seemingly incapable of understanding the purpose of a knife- it was the kind taken when an animal wants to avoid something. There was hesitance. While the slug turned, sliding itself through sludge, Xailah took that moment to sweep her knife downwards. She would clip the beast- slice through it's thick skin. She didn't understand why Galton had done what he did, until the slug- if one could call it that- changed course. That funny little lightbulb inside her head, flickered to life; mid-attack. Everything made perfect sense now.
The rain would cleanse. Wash everything away with time. The gore, and mucus. That saccharine scent of warm metal dripping through torn flesh. The repellant. All of it would be leaving with the storm. Galton's plan, though quite brilliant, had one hitch: it was very temporary. The Slug Repellant he sprinkled down upon his peers, like festival confetti, would eventually be pushed out by rainwater. The storm was Galton's greatest enemy on this night. And no man, not even a King of Candies, could battle Mother Nature and win. But, if he were clever- which Sir Galton appeared to be- he could use the attack to his advantage. While the boy continued to shower students in pesticide, it would become apparent that he missed a child who was standing in front of Flipendo Boy (Thomas). The smaller slug, despite being wounded, rushed to terrorize the little swamp creature trying to protect it's fellow... swamp creature. Xailah called to Galton, hoping she could be heard through the wind. "Galton! Try to get some of that repellant on the girl!"

The young girl was still frozen like a few seconds before but this time not due to a spell but by surprise. She didn’t even really realize what was happening as Victor lay his lips on hers. She hadn’t expected that at all since her mind had been focused on getting him out of the danger zone.
It seemed more like he had created another attacker with that though. No spells had flown their way, probably everyone was chasing the other girl or trying to deal with Erin. As soon as he had no longer tried to stop them from doing so, Victor was no target anymore. Ileen had tried to convince him to run. Rationally she understood why he had given up. They were everywhere. No matter where he went, they would be there to attack him.
Ileen, who knew so little of Victor, couldn’t help but be mad at him for giving up. A mixture of disappointment and devastation rose in her, just seconds before he had made that move that completely threw her off.
It was strange. She didn’t want Victor to kiss her, but she didn’t mind either. It was nothing personal. It felt more like a good-bye for him from this world. So how could she be mad at him? It was not connected to her at all - how could it? They barely knew each other so Ileen was aware that he would have kissed basically everyone in front of him who didn't try to kill him. Okay, fair enough. That limited the people a lot. His motivation and feelings were still a secret to her, but before she could question them or do something for the matter, someone else chose to interfere.
Percival didn’t seem to be amused. Ileen’s heart jumped as she heard his loud voice and suddenly feelings rushed back into her limbs. She didn’t know how to feel - confused, flattered, worried, ashamed? All of those feelings fought in her for the upper hand as the dead boy dodged Percival's rushing fist that was aiming for his face.
Ileen stumbled a step backwards, her eyes wide open as her angry date seemed to explode in rage any second.
“Stop it!” Ileen felt like those useless women in action movies who didn’t contribute anything but crying. She still tried to make sense of all of this, but whatever happened next, she wouldn’t want anyone to hurt Victor or Percival.
She tried to reach for Percivals arm to stop him from attacking further. Her eyes were fixed on him. She was not even sure if he was angry at Victor for kissing her - he hadn’t been his biggest fan anyway. “Percival! Please stop.” He knew she had no romantic feelings for Victor, right?

Everything felt as if it was slowing down before his eyes. His swung out wildly at the boy's face. Though, it seemed that in his anger he had forgotten to actually aim at the boy. Percival's fist hit the air next to Moore's head. The boy could not help but feel surprised as it took him a second to realize that he boy had ducked his attack.
Annoyance pooled low in his gut as he glowered at the boy. Not only had the boy kissed Ileen. The girl that he lik...that he enjoyed being around, and now he was making a fool of him by dodging, what he considered, his well deserved attack. It infuriated him and he found himself taking a step towards the other. Sure the boy was much taller than him, but he couldn't find it within himself to care.
His gaze flicked towards Ileen as she yelled at him to stop. "He kissed you Ileen! Why should he get away with that?" he asked hoping to get her to see things his way. His brows were deeply furrowed as he turned his head more towards. "I'm not going to let him." he snapped as he attempted to move away from Ileen.

Hugh felt his fist slam into the mud as he missed after a long swing. The little, slippery creature was too fast for him to pin down, as his lumbering body could not keep up. It was frightening to see how fast @Howard White 's claws struck down compared to him. The Hufflepuff was on a hunt, it seemed. Hugh needed a second or two to take it all in as his gaze followed Howard's movements in amazement. He could only try to help him kill the slug as quickly as possible.
With an aggressive roar, the giant would shoot back up on his feet and lunge towards the slug. He tried to make as much noise as possible, stomping his foot down to the ground as hard as he could, anything that might draw the creature's attention towards him. Both his hands plunged towards the wiggling form, trying to get it killed, so he could pull it away from @Serena Towers .
"Suna hasa, irrui faiasa ull rhaid"* Hugh said as his growling voice thundered across the field. The wind threw off his helmet and the rain was mussing everyone's hair. The giant had to squint to keep his eye on the target. "Get it, White. Kill it!" He yelled in aggravation as he tried to catch the slug. They were losing time, and all the while he had been unable to check up on Erin. For all he knew, he might turn around and see w hole army of these creatures waiting for them. There was a desperate feeling welling up inside him, not knowing where this would end.

The Silver Knight enters the ball
One evening of peace and quiet. That was all she really wanted. She had intentionally avoided the ball, not wanting to oversee yet another event. In honour of the occasion, she wore a plaid suit with a black t-shirt inside. Her office was relatively quiet, peaceful and pleasant. Well... it was the first two before Browne started to talk. Was it acceptable to silencio another staff member? What if they were really talkative and it was kind of frustrating?
Luckily for Browne, it did not come to that. A knock interrupted her thoughts, with a flick of her fingers, she was brought back to reality. "I'll be there momentarily," She called out, followed by mumbles of 'gosh darnit'. Her plans of a pleasant evening came crashing down quickly as she pushed against the desk she had been sitting at and went to stand up. There was a sense of urgency in her actions, fuelled by the desperate knocking. She ran her hand over herself, recomposing herself for whatever hell awaited her with a sigh. Making her way over to the door, she grabbed a plaid blazer from nearby and threw it over her black t-shirt as she adjusted her hair by pulling it out of the back of it.
She opened the door, observing the student on the other side. For a brief moment, she went to quirk her eyebrow and greet him as 'Mister Faust' when she saw the state of his expression and composure. The blood on his clothes was telling but he claimed they were not his. A simple 'What's wrong?' was enough for the information to spill. The festival in chaos, Erin Ryan, feral, slugs, multiple students being attacked... Her eyes widened slightly as she looked over her shoulder towards her partner-in-crime. He could hear the entire exchange clearly, he was likely reacting in the same way. Without hesitation, she grabbed her wand, "I'm going ahead," She instructed to Caradoc as she broke into a run, leaving him in the office to follow behind her. He would be mere moments behind, she was sure. But she did did not have much time to waste.
Quickly making her way out to the grounds, Hjørdis very much regretted not having a chance to properly change. The blazer protected her briefly from the cold but it was not enough. The heels definitely did not help but she wore them enough to be able to run in them. It was just not ideal.
Her mind raced faster than her legs did as she tried to fathom how this was happening. It went through every single memory she could recall, struggling. There were missing pieces, as though she was forgetting something important. Like pieces of a puzzle everything started to slot in together, and although most people had never heard her swear, it almost sounded like she whispered a curse word under her breathe as she legged it directly to the grounds.
The sad truth was that she knew a lot more than she realised she knew... She just... forgot it. What felt like too long later, they reached the grounds. Her silvery blue eyes quickly scanned the grounds. It was chaotic. It was hard to even tell what was happening. She knew what the priority was.
"Get to Erin," Hjørdis muttered under her breathe quickly. There was comfort in one thing. He was there. And if there was anyone she trusted with healing, it was him. She also knew that Erin would not trust him. The paranoid behaviour suddenly made sense. Food. She was meant to have bought food for the Slytherin who ate rats but now that she thought about it, she had not done that in a little while. Did she forget? How did she forget? Why didn't she remember this before? She could have put it all together sooner. Everything made perfect sense now...
This was not the time to worry about that, however. There were things coming out of her that was attacking students around. She shot a look to Caradoc. Splitting the party was never a good idea... but with a nod, she moved in a different direction. She climbed up a small rock to get a better view of the area, spotting the slugs. They were not exactly far from Erin but she was focused on those closest to the slugs. A small disgusting looking slug hit her vision, one trying to attack nearby students.
What caught her attention more were the students around. The ones who were bravely standing up in the face of terror. They were doing an incredible job, one that they should never have had to face but she had to give them credit where credit was due. In the face of terror, they were not going to hesitate, "Animosus," She called out, pointing her wand directly at a young-looking student closer to the slug. The boy looked like he was in a fight with one of the slugs. Jumping the rock, casting the spell was one thing but she had to continue to move. Hjørdis continued to move, jumping off the small rock and landing on the ground with one knee bent onto it, her free hand balancing her whilst her wand hand hovered in the air behind her. Wait, what the hell was she doing?
She shot a glare towards Browne's direction, hoping he had reached Erin by this time.

"Get to Erin."Captain Ireland enters the ball
As Doc was rolling up his sleeve, his gaze would follow Nora's finger and lock onto the girl's position. Even from this distance, he could make out that things were not looking pretty. Turning his head to nod, he'd find that Nora was already rushing off into the opposite direction. "Mr. Faust, see if you can be of any more assistance. Thank you for getting us here." He said to @Selim Faust as he gave the boy a faint smile in encouragement. From what he could tell, there was a group of students struggling with something dark that was wiggling through the mud. An eerie memory came back to him.
He remembered himself and Pendrast. They were talking in her office, discussing his mark. The mark he got from a skirmish with the hag at one of the balls. A brief encounter he and two other professors only narrowly escaped from. Elaine had managed to release something from him, within him rather. A large wriggling centipede forced to crawl its way out of his throat, he recalled it vividly as he winced in the memory of pain and discomfort. But why had he not used that information to check up on others?
Caradoc shook his head, the memories flooding in one after the other was keeping him from being useful. There was something he was missing, there always was. It was hard to focus and see the truth for what it was. With a hesitant step forward, he tried to get his body moving. Help. He needed to help the kids now. Again. He needed to help them again. Month after month, there seemed to be trouble and danger. Day after day, he felt more grateful for the decision to not bring Cass here. This… hellhole of a school.
He picked up his pace and felt pain jolt through his knee. It was time to realize that maybe he wasn't exactly suited for the adventuring life. Cursing under his breath, Doc would come sliding through the mud and ending up by @Jack Burnett's side. The incantation he'd have recognized from a mile away. Years of experience kicked in as he mentally checked @Erin Ryan's vitals. She was a literal mess of blood, bone, and possibly worse. With an instinctive show of support, the Hufflepuff would place his hand upon Jack's shoulder. "Serenate." The spell would weave itself from Caradoc's breath onto the boy's being.
"You're doing well, son. Now keep her steady. Erin, do you hear me? We're going to get you out of here." He tried to reassure both Slytherins in his company. "We're going to make everything alright."
