It still hurts.
Clair sat on her bed, tears falling down her cheeks, it had been one year, in one year so much had happened, and yet so little had happened too.Backdated to when Clair was 9, one year after the death of her father
One year ago her mother, misty, had gotten a phone call from the hospital, saying that her husband was in the hospital after being in a car crash, Misty had packed up her three daughters and drove to the hospital, where they had found Clair's Father sitting in a bed, his body covered in drying blood, poor eight year old Clair should have never seen what she did see hat night, no one should have seen what she had seen, Clair had looked at her father, he had looked at her with love in his eyes, and slowly said his last words "Clair, the....box... Under my... Bed...it's ...for...you." and with that he looked at her once and smiled softly, she had placed her small hand in his large one. He closed his eyes and never spoke again.
Clair had not realized that he had died, she had thought he was just tired, so when she had said that he was sleeping it had torn Misty's heart more, Clair had not known that had been her father's last words.
She had not known that until Belle had told Clair, and after that Clair had fallen into a deep depression, the poor child's life had been changed forever, and now poor Clair had to go through all the things for her father, funeral being the worst.
Well now it was a year after his death, a year today and Clair had still not even opened the box that he had given her, well that was all about to change, today she was going to open it she had too.
With shaky hands she opened the box, the first thing she found inside it was a old leather bound book, on the cover it said Holy Bible.
Clair had looked at the book with interest but had set it aside to see the other contents in the box, in it was a canvas that said 'For God So Loved the word that he gave his one and only son, so that who even may believe in him shall not perish but live eternal live⁓ john 3:16'
Clair had hung this above her bed1 then next one said 'The Lord is my Shepherd'
She hung this one beside her bed, the other two were less important to her, so she left them in the box.
But little did Clair know it but, she had just started to believe, and the pain had lessened just a little.
