LOOK! IT'S A SHOOTING STAR!
[font=century gothic]The chaotic Hufflepuff part goblin, sizing up to three foot ten inches, proved that he was shorter than most at the school of Hogwarts, but this morning, he had his Shooting Star with him, since he treasured it increasingly with each day of awaking and looking at it standing up against the side of his bed. But now, he was going to proceed with his temptations, and he was going to ride the broom! But first, Cody had to remember Flying Class.[/font]
He walked slowly down to the Quidditch Pitch, knowing that he wanted to ride it for the first time, since he couldn't stand riding the school issued school broom. He arrived.
He ignored the hoop shaped goals, and the stands. Of course, he noticed a young Slytherin there, apparently also taller than Cody. WHY WAS HE CURSED WITH BEING SO SHORT?
Cody looked at the boy and back to his broom, then thought for a minute. After that minute, he hopped upon his broom, slowly hovered over to where Theo Evans was.
"Hey, boy. I'm not usually this nice, but do you want to learn how to fly? I remember those lessons, and I believe I can teach you if you don't know how to fly already. Of course, this broom is a 1950s made design. It was only ten galleons, and well, my father paid for it, since he had hopes that I would join one of the two broom games that Hogwarts hosted." And Cody's dad was a big fan of Quidditch, but he wanted to hear all about Broom Racing and how you could sling spells at opponents and manage to fly at the same time! Dueling was rather simple as well, just sling spells at each other!
Wait, there wasn't only one boy in the stands! There was another, and it was Cody's good friend, so far anyways since the blasted Juniper- ugh that name gives him nightmares now.
"Ari. How are you my good sir?" Truly Cody tried his hardest to hide his feelings towards Ari, and that he loved Ari, but had no idea how Ari would feel about him. Shaking it off, he offered a rather simple proposal.
"Do you both want to learn how to fly?"

LOOK! IT'S A SHOOTING STAR!
Theo Evans was new to everything at hogwarts. He still marveled at the paintings on the walls and the architecture that seemed to stand the test of time. The somewhat chaotic young slytherin had decided to go for a walk to the quidditch pitch, seeing if there was anyone there who he could join and talk to.
He couldn't help but look at the hoops and posts, marvelling at how high off the ground everything seemed. He has barely started learning how to fly and use his broom even if he was always fascinated by quidditch. He remembered watching professional matches on the television at home and how he always wanted to be a part of it even if he didn't fully understand it. It looked like so much fun being able to fly and zip about without a care in the world. It looked like something he wanted to do and even watching the other boy hovering about was enough to pique his interest.
"Could you really teach me? I'd love to learn if you're offering. You're talking about quidditch and such, right? My dad loves it and we used to watch it together all the time! We even used to make these little bracket type things and used to see who would would win based off of our predictions. It's a beautiful broom by the way, you're lucky your dad got it for you."
"I'm Theo by the way, Theo Evans." He almost thinks to extend a hand out to shake but thinks better of it. He only notices the other when he's pointed out by Cody. "And hello to you too! Are you going to be flying with me?" He says to Ari specifically.

[font=century gothic]Theo agreed. He thought it'd be a great idea! Well, so did Cody! Cody figured he should start the lessons. "Come on down to the ground! Get out of the stand!"[/font]
Once they all get to the bottom, the yard, Cody starts off the lesson by talking directly to Theo. "Ok Theo. It's nice to meet you by the way! Shall we begin? Let's go over the rules of safety when flying, as I am going to bet that this is your first time flying. Rule number one, be aware of your surrounding, both on ground and in the sky. This is to reduce the chance of you getting harmed or killed. Rule two, respect your fellow wizards. I feel this is rather logical, because I wouldn't want it to be like a rival team for Quidditch when they knock me off my broom. I want to have a good fair flight. Now, last rule, well that I know of, check your broom often."
Upon saying that, Cody inspected the Shooting Star, plucking off twigs that were longer than the other and seemed to have been making it uneven. He then inspected the handle, or the wood, and with that, it revealed absolutely nothing. Because, after all, it WAS new.
"Ok, do we understand the rules of flying? Do you mind to repeat them back to me? Once you do, we can proceed to the next part of the lesson, commanding the broom and hovering it a few feet in the air." Ari didn't often go to the Qudditch Pitch, but when he did, he enjoyed himself.
Quidditch was his favorite sport in every way imaginable. He'd attended the World Cup twice in his life so far, and he owned a plethora of Falmouth Falcons merchandise. Quidditch was a passion of his just as high on the list as music or art.
His school robe billowed behind him as he walked across the grounds. He wanted to see the Quidditch grounds for the first tiime and compare them to the arenas of where the major teams played.
Upon entering the arena, he noticed a couple of other figures. The first one, he didn't recognize, but he wore Slytherin robes. He was probably a first year like Ari was. The second figure, though, was recognizable. It was Cody, a boy he had met earlier in the year. The two had gotten to know each other and became friends. It was nice to see someone he knew.
He sat in the stands near the Slytherin boy, watching as Cody held his broom on the field, addressing the other. It was a Shooting Star, a popular broom for young wizards learning the flying basics.
"Ari. How are you my good sir?" Cody asked Ari now, making him straighten his posture. "Do you both want to learn how to fly?"
This got his attention quickly. Sure, he knew a little bit about flying, and was clearly enrolled in the Flying class here at Hogwarts, but extra practice time on a broom other than one provided by the school? This was definitely something he couldn't pass up.
The boy was babbling about the sport of quidditch to Cody, and Ari simply tuned him out. Not that he wasn't interested, but that the pitch of the boy's voice went straight through his ears like a whistle.
"I'll take your offer, Cody," Ari said, standing up and straightening his robes. Then, he turned and shook the hand of the Slytherin boy, whose name turned out to be Theo Evans. Good to know. "Nice to meet you, Theo. The name is Ari. I guess we'll be doing this together."
He walked down from the stand, and although looks didn't matter, he found himself messing with the tie of his uniform. It gave his hands something to do.
Once they were on the field, Cody began listing off the rules of flying to Theo. It irritated Ari slightly that he was being ignored, but Cody had a habit of doing that. After he finished, he asked them to repeat the rules. He would get Cody's attention now.
"First, be aware of your surroundings. Second, respect your fellow wizards. Third, check your broom often," Ari recited, smiling with a raised eyebrow, hoping that Cody would notice the level of his attention despite being left out of the conversation. "You also need to retrim the ends of your broom. They're quite uneven."

Cody gasped. Theo didn't seem to be there- he must've left (he hasn't been onsite for a while apparently) But Ari was! Always nice that a fellow Claw would learn. Even if they have wings to spread, Ravenclaws aren't exactly notorious for their flying, but Ari? Cody had a high expectation for Ari. She seemed to be a Perfectionist type after all.
He seemed proud of Ari. Someone taller than him actually listened! Awesome! "Corr- my broom does need a bit of trimming, that is correct. Thank you for letting me know Ari!"
The part goblin proceeded to trim the brushes of his broom, then scanned the handle to see if there was any cracks or warping. None.
"Alright then, are we ready for the next part of the lesson?" Without waiting, Cody was known for his lack of patience, but he was more than willing to treat the others with care, maybe a bit more patience than he could give.
"Before I show you how to summon a broom, let me tell you why we ride brooms. Apparently by 962 AD, the first Wizarding Broom was created, but this was from a german manuscript from that time. Now, there was a scottish wizard in 1107 that wrote about this broom specifically, this is in his own words, "splinter filled buttocks and bulging piles.""
Cody paused, maybe they should continue soon, maybe the next part of the lesson, or maybe the next part will be on quidditch rules or whatnot.
"Alright Ari, I'm going to lay the broom on the ground. I want you to command the broom to hover or to appear in your hand. Make sure you use your right hand, as I'm laying it on your right side." Should Ari fail that, Cody would show Ari the proper way of doing it.
