After a long day, Andrew decided to go to the courtyard to take a breather, especially since it's conveniently empty around this time with a few stragglers here and there. Sitting down by the fountain he then opened up the book of spells, he considered that he might as well practice some wand movements during the break before the next class. The charm class sure was interesting, some of the etymologies behind the incantations of the spells were also a captivating subject to be attentive towards. he started motion his wands in a clockwise spiral motion, or what would be more of a inverted 'G', pausing for a brief moment after each swift gesture, then moving on to drawing a leg like symbol from left to right with, trying to pick up the pace of the motion with each jerk of movement with his wrist.
He'd repeat the process changing between the two gestures back and forth until he felt his wrist became accustomed to it seemingly engrossed into his studies and practice as he sat there by the fountain, the sound of trickling water and murmuring in the background as he remained there seemingly oblivious to his environment with his creased up Slytherin robes.

Within out of the corridor halls came out a girl, the standard uniforms of Hogwarts held the deep mustard gold within her robes, tie and vest.
She had escaped a portion period of the classroom, a sigh escaping out of her lips as she brushed the strands of her hair out of her face, fixing her hair again as she removed the ribbon and clips off her hair, combing it down as she took a deep breath out of the courtyard, feeling the fresh air and the enjoy the sight of the fountains with the green overgrown vines structured each pillar natural, listening to the soft rustling flow of water rushing, calming her down as she had fixed her Hufflepuff colour scarf around her neck to loosen, feeling her finally breathe.
Before closing her eyes to stand up and look out towards the sky, her wand in her hand before putting it back within her robe, looking back down, her eyes flickering towards the fountain, sporting a familiar boy, though she looked slightly dishevelled with one sleeve falling off her shoulder, in joy the girl waves her hand towards the tall boy in the deep emerald and silver coloured robes. Her more tired and meek person disappeared after seeing someone familiar and someone she knew more from everyone else who are practically strangers that made her slightly cautious.
" Andrew! Didn't expect to see you here!"
Chess said with a grin, running towards the boy with a more energetic pace.
"What? It's not like we can't do it if we can't push our limits?"

There's something about the trickling waters of the fountain, the pitter-patter of the distant footsteps of the students walking through the corridors in the far distance that made this area somehow calming and a decent place to focus and practice wand movements. He seemed really engaged in his practice, Book of Spells in hand and wand on the other. It was not until the silence was broken and heard that his name got called out, Andrew flinched a bit from his trance and focus, scanning his environment before spotting a familiar figure wearing Hufflepuff colors.
Recognizing the girl a small smile grew onto the corner of his lips, putting his wand away so that he could free one hand to wave sparsely back to her enthusiastic greeting. "Afternoon Chess" one glance over her as she approaches Andrew, he spots how disheveled she looked "You ok there? You look like you had to ran up and back down the grand staircase." he asked with an eyebrow raised as he inspected her from the top down.
Andrew was relieved to see an old friend he met on the train, ever since the sorting ceremony he barely had the time to try see if he could reach those he met on the train so this was a nice change of pace compared to the minor small talks with his housemates.

Chess smiled, slowing her pace as she took deep short breaths before standing up and put her fists onto other side of her hips, a huge grin on her face before looking around her uniform with a small twirl, blinking at her outfit before fixing it slightly. A small realization on her face as she brush the stands of her hair behind her ears, lazy to fix her hair for a while and let it let down for a while before returning it to her happy-go-lucky demeanor and bright posture.
“Yep! It was actually hard to do half of classes when the stairs turned a second late!” The girl then tilted her head to the side, hands on her back as her eyes starred back at the corridor before remembering flashes of her troubles.“if anything I feel like my luck is against me this whole day!”
The caramel-haired girl nervously chuckled, remembering how every time she entered in the stair case and see it move, it was always in the wrong class and had to wait a minute more, despite of it all, the girl was still optimistic and that optimism was all worth it after if she got to meet someone familiar after all of it.
”but other than that, today is a good day, now that I especially met you again!” Chess looked at his book and at the fountain before rubbing her cheek with her pointer finger, noticing his uniform and hummed with intrigue.”ah so your Slytherin, the colors look good on you, I’d even say that you look taller now with the robes” She giggled and then crossed her arms together. ”How was your day?” She asked with a smile, walking to the fountain ledge and sat onto the rails, curious to see him practice and learn, learning her head back slightly and dangle her legs as she sway from side to side while humming with a small grin.

"You think so?" Andrew looks at her with a puzzled look as she complimented how the colors of Slytherin suites him before continuing. "Yeah, the grand staircase makes it easy to get lost, I would have gotten late for charms class if it wasn't for that ghost who helped guide the way"
Andrew then takes out his wand to resume practice with his wand movement, a flash of determination in his eyes, eager to be able to perfect the gestures with precise accuracy. "My day was okay, I still got a few assignments to finish up here and there but it was interesting. Guessing by your colors you got sorted to be Hufflepuff huh? How are your housemates?" Considering that Andrew has only talked to fellow housemates, other than the observation he made from afar through the classes, he was wondering how the other houses are from a more personal perspective. The group of Slytherin he chatted with on the table were... an interesting sort to put it lightly, they're definitely goal-driven, although a lot of can be a bit competitive even among fellow housemates, not that there's anything bad about it, although Andrew can't help but feel like the house he's been sorted to is quite literally a den of snakes, which is an interesting experience.

”yep! The pop green really brings out your eyes” The girl motioned with a small hand gesture before nodding to the side to then rest her hand on her palm, thinking quite deeply.
She hasn’t fully take in her dorm due to the hectic and different atmosphere the school was from home, but in a way, she could agreed that it was warm and welcoming, all different and yet are open, hard-working and fair. Despite of the fact that some of them tend to be really stubborn with their goals and opinion, her included, but all of them were nice, like a real home it felt like she was in a family that welcomed her openly and that made her smile while thinking deeply before shrugging and look towards Andrew.
“Well it’s like home, there is a lot of things here and there, they are competitive but overall, they aren’t as naive and gentle you’d expect them to be from how a lot of people stereotyped us as” Chess then looked at the water rippling and hit at the end of the marble wall of the fountain, watching the flow and take out the fallen green leaf out of it, raising it towards the sky as the light lightly phased it, the small droplets of water go inside her sleeve and raising a brow at the sensation only to then smile, putting it near the vines. ”I like it, and my housemates are nice and are definitely one of a kind”
”Did you make new friends in Hogwarts? I’m sure there is a lot of people who likes to be friends with you!”

"A home huh? Well it's good to know that you feel welcomed in your sorted House. I haven't made much friends aside from my dormmate, he's pretty quiet and reserved but actually quite decent when you get to know him. We sometimes play chess together from time to time. The dorm I'm in is pretty hidden and tucked away, believe the Head of Slytherin called it Merlin's dorm, it's actually pretty conveniently far enough down the hall for it to feel somewhat soundproof, no sound escapes or enters that room." Andrew begun explaining and talk about his experience so far as a Slytherin, which was an appealing occurrence.
"Actually how's your dormitory like?" He turned towards Chess facing her, putting a stop to his practice to give her his full attention now. To see a familiar face here at around this time feels very fortuitous which Andrew was delighted with the chance to have a chance to talk with one of his acquaintance that he met in the Hogwarts Express, it does make him won what has Calliope have been up to, though he briefly caught sight of her chatting with the potions teacher for an inquiry she had. "Actually have you caught glimpse of Garreus or the others lately?"

"Garreus is actually Hufflepuff! He's been great, though alot of people were shocked but I say that he's a warm welcome! and not only that but we sometimes see eachother in class, it was new to experience having gryffindor being in half of our class in my first year, made some good friends in there too!"Chess smiled before, raising a brow, suddenly seeing stop practicing, tilting her head to then move to the side and pat the rail, giving some space to sit onto when he asked her questions. "Calli? we have been in other classes and we really stay with the other houses since they want us to be very competitive, I think I saw her in charms" She wondered, her hand on her chin for a short while before playing with her fingers.
"Ah, I'm somewhere in the Plant palace, it really keeps in touch with nature and not only that but it really feels like your out camping, the stars in the ceiling practically shining like stars, it really just feel like I'm in a whole new world if you can get in the dormitory, I wont mind giving you a tour! It's great there! Despite of it being in the underground there is sun light, not only that but it's pretty comfy, with yellow couches, cream walls and nice oak wood, we even have handing plants on the ceiling, it really does feel like a staple home you'd read in fantasy books after the protagonist head off on a journey!" Chess had explain, smiling and waiting for him to sit beside him, to let him enjoy his time and take in the sight of the school, seven years can pass and knowing how hectic a school life can be, she can understand how all of this can easily pass by the wind.

"Garreus is also a Hufflepuff? huh, interesting, although considering his values I suppose it makes sense" Andrew thought back a bit about his meeting with Garreus, thinking back on how interesting of a character he is to encounter. "Most of your classes are mostly with Gryffindor? Heard they're as bad as the Slytherins when it comes to being competitive, least they sound like friendly people." He then let Chess continues, before realizing that she's just been standing throughout the whole conversation he let out a soft sigh and scoots a bit and gesture towards her invitingly. "Come on, make yourself comfortable and have a seat with me. Plant palace huh? Well that definitely sounds like an interesting dorm, an outdoorsy setting in an interior dormitory. I-I don't think a tour is necessary though" he waves his hand a bit to Chess dreading a bit at how risky it would be for him to tour a different house's common room, let alone the girls' dormitory. the head of hufflepuff and the headmaster will surely have his head for it, and Andrew's reputation will plummet down for the worse which will make his life unnecessarily difficult.
Andrew clears his throat before concluding "Your house's common room sounds nice and all, but I don't think a tour is ideal, although it does sound very refreshing."

“Aw really? But it would be so fun, the dormitory are really relaxing, but oh well! I dont really want you to feel uncomfortable!” Chess motioned her hands out, a surprised yet apologetic look on her face, worried while walking on her way to sit beside him, like her hufflepuff bretheren before her, the girl grows to make sure that her friends was okay. “Is there anythng else you liked or your glad about in hogwarts? There might be alot of trouble either way from everything, Hilariously, maybe you should take a break once a while though, with how busy you are, it practically might distracting you to enjoying it” The girl smiled and relaxed, being in a state of peace as her hands clasped them together, keeping sure her robe is on her so there wouldn’t be drenched from the fountain as she looked at his book and took out hers as well from her sling bag. Opening the pages as it already had small doodles and notes, all from her classes and even the small names of her new friends.
The small detailed of the drawings were very clean, Not that of the typical quill but that of pen and pencils. “Im sure you found alot of good things here, once you stare out of the feilds or out the windows sometimes, you might even find something nice. Missing it out would always be sad”
