The Alchemy Club

Welcome, all to the Alchemy club. For those of you with a curious mind and a strong will to learn, we open our doors to you and all other students that wish to know more about what exactly Alchemy is. Alchemy itself is a rather difficult subject, and thus here at this club, we hope to find ways to better understand the subject by brainstorming ideas, discussing theories, and gaining information from guest speakers, books, and other potential things. This club is strictly IC, but you can certainly OWL questions OOC. There will be RP club meetings every so often, with locations potentially changing. All are welcomed as mentioned before, and please have fun!
What is Alchemy?

Alchemy is a branch of magic that has connections to both potion-making and transfiguration (specifically transformation) magic. Potions and transfiguration are already rather difficult concepts, meaning Alchemy is on a whole another level of difficulty in the wizarding world. The main objectives of Alchemy are to study more into the concepts of the structure and magical properties of substances. Both potions and transfiguration go over these ideas, and thus think of Alchemy as being a bit more similar. Another objective of Alchemy is to also produce a "Philosopher's Stone" an item of powerful magic potential with a storm of history and myths behind it.
What Will We Do?
In this club, we will be discussing everything we can about Alchemy, such as the history behind the Philosopher Stone, Key alchemist in wizard history, guest speakers (hopefully) who can give insight on their own personal ideas or experience with alchemy, and of course coming up with theories on how to improve ones own alchemical abilities.

Reasons for wishing to Join: I always enjoyed learning and reading about all sorts of topics, Alchemy is one that always interested me and I'm sadden that we can't take classes on it at hogwarts but still want to learn about it

Reasons for wishing to Join: Avery likes to do work with his cauldron, be it cooking or making potions to experiment with them or practice his hands-on skills. He would hope to see his potions-dawdling have more practical goals besides accomplishing what he learns in class.
Events Ideas you may wish to see: Lab work as a group to experiment with different ingredients/materials.

Reasons for wishing to Join: I always liked the idea of transforming materials, and it's possible using science in the Muggle world. I think maybe alchemy has a touch of non-magical science, and that is my passion.

Reasons for wishing to Join: Potions has always been Evelynn's strongest subject. Less foreign in concept to her muggle upbringing compares to casting, it was where she found early success. She also appreciates how potioneering allows greater access and longevity for magical effects that casting doesn't necessarily permit in the moment of a crisis. It's an area of study she intends to take to NEWT level.
Events Ideas you may wish to see: Study sessions, component hunting when the system is more developed, volunteer cleaning of the potions room for the prof, dealing with the aftermath of a potions gone wrong... The same could be offered but from a transfiguration perspective. Casting practice, identifying "fakes", studying anatomy and molecular structure, etc. I'll try to think of more.

Reasons for wishing to Join: well, good question. Cody has a motivation for causing chaos but he needs another Outlook, a positive outlook, that isn't attacking people.

I see you have taken an interest in my challenge towards adventure and knowledge. The first meeting for our club will be on December 2, at 17:00. I do apologize for the late time, and this will be adjusted soon. If you are a young student, I highly suggest you come to our first meeting a few minutes early. Oh, and the location will be in the dusty old classroom 3rd to the right on the second floor. Hope to see you there!

Reasons for wishing to Join:
Lily loves to learn new things, she can never get enough homework and she'd take every subject at Hogwarts if she could. On top of that, she is particularly intrigued by Alchemy, the four elements, and especially transmutation. She also loves the idea of belonging to a club where students teach each other and exchange knowledge.
Events Ideas you may wish to see:
Reading books about alchemists, learning about Alchemy in muggle and wizard history? Maybe trying to do a lab to practice transmutation?

"Oh! The education here is garbage, so I can just make up for it by joining into things that are worth my time! And I'm bored. There's nothing that a capable Ashwood is so much allowed to do on school grounds."
Vale, although odd and could be concluded as mentally insane, surprisingly has a refined talent in potioneering and plans to continue her talent into adulthood as a career. Whether or not that is ideal for the people around herself.
