He smiled as she called her peasant again and he would pick up their charade soon and randomly but right now he dropped it for the moment. "Just random notebooks. I fear my mind is sometimes as active as a Ravenclaws but not as intelligent. In this notebook I have notes for classes," he lifted the first one up. "In this one I have my songs I'm currently writing," he lifted the next, "and in this one I have all random questions or thoughts about the wizarding world that I want to research or look up." It helped occupy him, especially during those sleepless nights that he had so often.

"My mind doesn't like to turn off," he shrugged. "And then I have some sleeping issues so...gotta keep myself busy." It wasn't like back home where if he had a sleepless night he could just walk around the streets of London. No, there was a strict curfew here at Hogwarts and there was only so much he could do within his dormitory or Common Room. Plus, he didn't like to draw attention to his sleepless issues because someone would think it was odd. Better to just keep that, and most of his dhampir traits, less conspicuous.

He looked at the other two books that rested there, along with the notebooks. "This one is just for some research into some of those questions," he tried to quickly bypass the one on the Living Dead and hoped he might distract the Ravenclaw, "and this one is some muggle classic literature. Sometimes I like to read them and try to determine if I think they should be the classic that these great minds think it should be and whether it has an impact on current society or the society at the time of publication."

"So what brought you to the Library today? Why not the Courtyard or out about in the Grounds?" Which was totally fine, of course! But it seemed so often that the Library wasn't usually the place one came to in their free time. Then again, the girl with him was a Ravenclaw. Maybe she too just enjoyed knowledge.
