Collision in the Corridors PV Lily Cooper Closed

He was surprised to hear she knew about the happenings of the school dance and yet also sort of not surprised. He had a few random students the very day after come congratulate him at the breakfast table in the Great Hall. Then, even after, he had some ask what sort of wedding present he preferred. Word must have gotten around.

"Oh yes, still in the honeymoon phase," he laughed, answering her question. Oh, he was probably never going to live that one down but he would survive. Besides, it was a more eventful dance than the one in the Fall. Making memories - it was all part of the school experience.

Simon held up his hand, showing the blank onyx ring that had a snake on it. It had originally belonged to Haley's grandfather and she had given it to him when they began dating - if not before. She wore the one her grandmother had, which also was a snake but smaller and more delicate and sort of wrapped around her finger.

"Haley's great, she's really great," he told Lily. "We've actually been together this entire school year now so I guess marriage was the next step." He smiled again. "But no, she's been the best. We always have a good time together and she's helped me through some pretty rough stuff."

How old are they? - I'm so happy for you two. I met Haley in a difficult moment and I think you guys are great together. But aren't we supposed to go on a honeymoon holiday somewhere? You don't talk about their young age or her cold hands. You're so happy to see your friend again that you don't want to spoil the mood.[/font]

"We went to the Great Lake, all across the school grounds," he grinned. Okay, time to let the charade go before Lily Cooper was going to think he was even weirder than he probably truly was. "Crazy times. That's what you get for drinking some amortentia in the punch at the school dance when you didn't know it was in there and you're with someone you already care about a lot."

"But yea, she's the best," he left it at that. He couldn't really talk about how he was a dhampir now and it was Haley who had helped him not only discover that but also to help him see it through as far as accepting himself and the condition. No, that would be far too much information at once.

"So wow, I can't believe you knew about some of this the entire time. I'm off living my ignorant little childhood with hockey and squash and choir and you knew it all along." He smiled though, thinking that must have been exciting for Lily.

"So how has Hogwarts been treating you? Well, I hope. What's your favorite class? Have you tried out any of the extracurriculars?" Clubs or sports. If she had played something like quidditch, Simon often didn't go to the matches because they were outdoors and on stands high off into the sky up towards the sun and that was bothersome. Unfortunately.

You hope Simon didn't notice that your mood has suddenly changed. - So how has Hogwarts been treating you? Well, I hope. What's your favorite class? Have you tried out any of the extracurriculars? Your year at Hogwarts went by too quickly. But you made sure you worked as hard as you could. You had to. To keep your mind off your gymnastics dreams. This year you read, reread and worked. You didn't have time for Quidditch matches - what exactly is Quidditch for? Or for anything else. Then there was the Easter holidays and the arrival of Blueberry. You worked a bit less from then on. - I mostly worked, actually. I didn't really go out. Did you go to the Quidditch games? Not me, no. Do you have a pet? "Yeah, I think I spent more time at the Library trying to catch up on all the things I've missed out knowing about the wizarding world," he said, and knew there was still so much that the didn't even touch upon. "More time spent on that than on assignments and my studies,"but his grades were regardless decent. Not great, but decent. "I have this notebook where I've been writing all these things I want to research or questions to answer. Sometimes one search leads to ten-thousand more questions." An exaggeration, but still a lot. He was inquisitive and could have made a decent Ravenclaw.

"I went to one of the quidditch matches. Had to support Hufflepuff and all and the sport is fascinating but I don't think I'll be trying to get on the House team. Too much time outdoors and I try to stay inside due to my uh - my condition." His condition. He knew it wasn't some genetic condition that caused an aversion toward sunlight. Not a muggle sort of genetic condition, anyway.

"I don't know though. I know there's Dueling and some other sorts of wizarding activities out there. Have you heard of broomracing?" Of course she probably had. She was from this world, as he was astounded by. "I might like to try that someday. Flying is one of my favorite classes." You could fly, on a broom! What wasn't there to like?


"I'd love to meet Blueberry. I think if I do go the pet route, I'd want a cat. I could see how Blueberry and I mesh. Maybe cats don't like me." He had never had a pet growing up to really be around them - not even so much as a goldfish.

"I still can't believe you're here," he laughed. It floored him. To think someone he knew from back in London had been part of this world all along and he was ignorant just amazed him. What else was out there that he didn't know about? "Are you still friends with Mia Anderson? I wonder how she's doing," he asked of a girl that went to their school. He had dated her for awhile, but then again, Simon had dated a good number of girls at their school.

Flying is one of my favorite classes. - I think I will be a Duelist next year. I'm pretty good at Charms and I want to do something else besides reading and studying. I heard that the Ballai Race is pretty dangerous. So I don't think I'll try it. Personally, Charms is my favorite subject. You then asked him if he had a pet. But his words are still running through your head "my condition", how he hesitated to say that particular word. You are curious, very curious. And you like to know the truth. "Oh, I just meant not liking going out and all. My skin, it's sensitive," he said, not really wanting to talk about it at that moment. It wasn't so much talking about it to Lily that was the issue. Not totally. Veryyyyy few people knew and while he hoped this year to come to more comfortable terms with it, he didn't think that the corridors of the castle was the best place to come out with it.

"Broomracing is the best! I participated in the race they had here at Summer Camp. I was on a slow school broom. I mean, it's not slow...it's awesome to feel the rush but compared to some of the non-school brooms that others have, it's slow. I didn't do it for the win though so I had a lot of fun. Someday I might try for a faster broom but money gets tight with it just being Aunt Maggie and I. She already works her butt off just to keep the house and pay the utilities and all that. I would never ask her for something so expensive."

Then when she brought up seeing Mia Anderson here the other day his eyes got wide and he instantly began to scan both ways in the corridors, looking for the blonde but she followed up to say that she was kidding and he looked back to Lily and laughed, appreciating the trick she had played on him. "Damn, I was actually looking for the girl. No reason, or anything, just...curious." Out of the many small girlfriends he had found in his life so far, she had always stood out to him, made a connection with him, left a lasting impression. Simon glanced down and then back up to Lily. "Sorry, my aunt always did say I put too much attention onto girls. If I spent half the time on my schoolwork as I did them - I'd be a doctor someday."

"Anyway, you finding your way around alright? Anything you need help with? I could be Tour Guide Kincaid if you need me to be."

He smiled at her agreeing with Aunt Maggie but no. Aunt Maggie's head was mostly full with ways to help each other, Austen novels, and cookie recipes. Romance wasn't something on her mind in the slighest when it came to the real world, for herself or her young nephew.

"Did he give you such map?" he asked curiously. That would be incredible. If Lily had a map of the castle, it might have some of the secret passageways on it. Simon only knew a couple of them, and then it also might reveal some of the layout on one of the upper floors. Simon wasn't certain, but he was pretty sure that any time he went up there, the dimensions on some of the rooms changed and that was odd. Perhaps there was a true layout, or an alternating layout.

Simon's attention got captured by a moving figure coming down the corridors and he watched as Lily bent over and introduced him to her cat, Blueberry. His eyes followed the cat and he came forward just a bit so he could see his markings a little more. "Well, hello Blueberry," he said to the cat. "I'm Simon." Wasn't it proper to always introduce yourself when meeting someone new? He figured it was no different than with animals. Then again, he could really only remember his friend Gabe back in muggle London having a cat and his friend and fellow Hufflepuff Alexa Mackenzie having a rat. He had no other experience when it came to animals. "How long have you had Blueberry? Where'd you get her?"
