OOC FAQ Duelling Questions
What would happen if two partners bodyblocked for each other and a spell was cast at one of them?

EG.
- Opponent casts spell at A
- B bodyblocks for A
- If the bodyblock succeeded, would A then attempt to bodyblock for B? Or would B just take the hit anyway?

Thank you!

B would be taking the hit ^^ The bodyblock succeeding means that the spell has already hit B, there would be no time for A to jump in between. A would only be blocking spells aimed at B originally.

OOC FAQ Duelling Questions
Hello!

So I'm a little confused about how the auto-fail/miss/dodge/hit abilities interact with each other. In particular:

1) What happens when you are under a debuff such as a Dhampir's Unsettling Aura and casting a spell with an Auto-Fail counter? I know that the Dhampir ability doesn't stack, but would the Dhampir ability stack with the AFC if I'm, say, spamming Protego or something. And if so, is the stacking multiplicative or additive? (i.e. would two independent rolls be performed, or would the auto-fail percentages be added?).

2) Auto-hit causes both auto-miss and auto-dodge to be discarded. But what happens if all three abilities are in play? Does auto-hit nullify both auto-miss and auto-dodge rolls? Or would one of them still be performed? And if so, which one?

Thank you! :)

A spell was added to my trunk after my duel started, but I filled in and posted the trunk update form before the duel started. Can I use the spell? No worries if not, just checking just in case ^^

Hi Lucia, the spells are locked as soon as the duel begins, so you can only use the spells that were in your trunk at the time of duel start, even if a trunk update form was submitted before the duel started.

They do stack, additive where it makes sense. So for spell AFCs, UA and the AFC both affect the success of the entire cast, so there would be one roll with added fail percentages. For spell spread, the AFC only affects the spread, not the entire cast, so there would be two separate rolls: First the one for UA which affects the entire cast, if that does not trigger, the wisdom roll, and if that is successful, the roll for the AFC to determine whether the spread fails.
2) Auto-hit causes both auto-miss and auto-dodge to be discarded. But what happens if all three abilities are in play? Does auto-hit nullify both auto-miss and auto-dodge rolls? Or would one of them still be performed? And if so, which one?
Auto-hit is only able to cancel out the same percentage as it has itself, so if there is 10% auto-hit, 10% auto-dodge, and 10% auto-miss it will only cancel out one of the two. If there is 20% auto-hit, 10% auto-dodge and 10% auto-miss it will cancel both. Which of the two it cancels doesn't really matter in the end, as there is mechanically no real difference whether you auto-miss or your opponent auto-dodges. I would have it cancel the auto-miss since that is the roll I would do first, and perform only the auto-dodge roll.
