☽ Jacqueline Kingsley ♤ First year ♤ Gryffindor ☾

The Lapointes main source of pride came from having preserved a pureblood lineage through numerous generations. Few offsprings could stray from the marital traditions set by their forefathers and occasionally marry a half-blood or less. But the Lapointes, with their patrilineal patriarchy, were strict in arranging marriages for every heir to ensure a stainless lineage.

Renowned for a rich history of dark wizards and supporters of Death Eaters, the Lapointes were often amongst those wizards advocating for elitism, and found at almost every forefront of wizarding wars, opposing any and everyone that stood for inclusivity for wixen of 'lesser blood'.

It was only given that every scion would lead their family by examples and with iron fists. It had been no different for Jacqueline's mother, Monique Lapointe.

Monique was an only child. While she wasn't the boy her parents had hoped for, Monique exceeded whatever expectations they had for the boy they never conceived. An outstanding witch sorted into the house of Salazar, much like the majority of her ancestors, never did it seem possible for Monique to be a disappointment to the Lapointes.

But disappoint them she did.

Perhaps her keen interest in muggle studies should've been an indication for Monique's own thoughts about muggles, but her parents dismissed it as a mere aspect of her ambitions to excell. However, the doubts only took shape when Monique chose to work at a muggle media outlet. It was there she would meet the love of her life; Matthew Kingsley. A muggle journalist with a snore-enducing mundane history. A nobody that she decided to marry, even though it cost her both of her parents who didn't hesitate to disown her.

Due to a mother that rebelled against the purist ideologies of her parents, to the extent of relocating from England to Sweden after marrying the muggle man, Jacqueline was brought up integrated deeply within the Swedish muggle world. This, unfortunately, meant Jackie had been ignorant to her wixen heritage until her first display of magic at the age of ten after the Kingsleys decided to move back to London, England.

It was a brief moment that almost passed unnoticed when Jackie's emotions flared at the revelation that she'd no longer see the friends she'd grown up with, simultaneously causing the stove to catch fire. Despite this, neither her mother nor her muggle father had intentions of embracing the wizarding world, thus, the Hogwarts letter Jacqueline received by her eleventh birthday was useless, to say the least.

However, an accident that left her bereft of parents and hospitalized the first month of that summer changed the tides of her fate abruptly. Weeks before September, when Jackie awoke from a coma, her younger sister had already been (begrudgingly) taken in by their maternal grandparents who intended to take her in as well.

Not long after the relocation would they all realize their invidious circumstance, with Jackie, as well as her elitist grandparents, being vocal about their conflicting thoughts concerning blood status and nearly everything else. Fire mishaps were a frequent occurrence at the manor whenever Jacqueline’s tolerance for her grandparents’ contempt faltered and her temper got the best of her, causing for her magic to flare uncontrollably. In such instances, she’d face severe repercussions from her grandparents.

Fortunately, her stay wouldn't be extended after summer came to an end, and her grandparents sent her off to Hogwarts; a place of solace from the hostile environment she was forced to call home.

Currently, Jackie isn't the free-spirited, emotive and amiable girl she used to be and still is deep within. Facing such heavy loss and abrupt changes has made Jackie uncharacteristically anti-social and it has left her more confused than curious about the wizarding world she's been thrust into. In other words, significant parts of her personality seem to be closed off for the time being, while she's still processing everything.

Additionally, feeling so out of place has only made her miss her little sister more whilst also worrying about her, given their grandparents enmity towards wixen of lesser blood status. So the letters she sends to and receives from Noelle always seem to be the highlight of her days, which only contributes to the perception that Jackie's a quiet girl when in actuality, she's merely reached one milestone of many more to come.

To deal with all of it Jackie is throwing herself into her education. But whenever that fails to fend off the memories and the agitatingly overwhelming emotions, Jackie seeks solace in solitude with little more than a canvas and paint.

Without the cloud of grief, Jackie was known to be (and still is) a passionate girl, quick to tease and joke harmlessly with a rather sarcastic sense of humor. Being somewhat easily entertained, she's a lover of puns (whether good, bad or ill timed) and banters. Oftentimes the first to stand up for her friends and anyone else in need, even if it can put her in harms way. A fierce protector, moreso of her younger sister and quite the determined child; willing to stand for what she believes in, even if that means standing against everyone else. With time and the right kind of people around, this side will overpower the quiet and lonesome nature she's adopted recently.
