Simon had a stack of six books in his hands, ones that he didn't think would yield much information but they were worth a try. He had discovered pretty early on when researching vampires that there was a lack of research on the topic of vampires. Still, there was a chance that perhaps in one of the pages of any of these six books he would find some new information. That was his hope. He was carrying the large stack with ease, having no difficulty with it despite it's height and weight.

However, there was an individual in the Library that WAS having some trouble with a large stack of books, and that was Tolly, one of the two Library elves. The stack of books kept wavering, like a flagpole in a windstorm, and she kept adjusting her positioning to keep them from falling. It wasn't going to last long and it certainly wasn't going to end well. "Woah, I got you," Simon said, quickly placing his six books down on the wooden table which a girl occupied. He wouldn't have thought she'd mind but honestly, he really wasn't thinking about her much in that moment.

"Okay, okay, let me help," he said as he reached up and grabbed the top three. He brought them into his hands before then taking one by one from the stack. He could see the relief in the school elf's face but honestly, he was just happy to help. "Way too many at once, Tol," he said and he watched as she nodded. He then asked the elf where she was going with the books and she stated the Circulation Desk so he offered to help her there.

The Hufflepuff returned a couple minutes later to retrieve the books he had left upon the table. "My apologies for violating your personal space," Simon said with a smile. He really only took up a TINY corner. She couldn't be mad, could she? He began to bring his books on magical beings closer to him and glanced over to what she was reading.

"Goosebumps?" he added, still interrupting her privacy but he couldn't help it. "I've read some of those! Which one is that? He's a pretty awesome writer, always has to have that twist at the end." All those crazy, crazy stories - some even about things he once thought were fictional like werewolves. How ignorant he had been.

she was reading for some more time. it was a good book since it was 'scary' and she liked it a lot. She looked up sometimes to glance around the library. there were kids coming in and out. some kids were whispering to themselves and giggling and Es rolled her eyes. How ignorant they were and she bet they were talking about boys. kids didn't realize the dangers and troubles of the world. speaking of boys, she spotted one helping a house elf. she would consider this sweet but she could only focus that he was a human who was actually doing something. that was more shocking than sweet. he put his books on her table and she looked up with her head still tilted down so it looked like she was glaring, but she wasn't. he finally came back to take his stuff. "humans." She whispered to herself and he looked at her book. "Its a new one called go away." She waited for a second, then showed him the cover, then nodded. yes I like him. I am reading night of the living dummy. I want a dummy like the one in this book." and it was true. she reached her hand in her pocket and pulled out a rock with googly eyes. "Instead I have a friend rock, his name is edgar and he never talks too much."

When she mentioned the book was called "Go Away" one side of his mouth might have pulled to a smile at her sarcastic wit. Still, he was pretty sure she didn't mind the interruption so much because she had glanced up here and there from the words as she read them, which meant she was still aware of those around her.

Simon watched as she pulled out a rock with wiggle eyes on it and he liked how she called it a friend rock instead of a pet rock. Already she seemed like a rather independent and freethinking sort of person, and he liked how she made the rock her friend instead of a pet like a notion of enslavement. He only knew others that had pet rocks before. "Hi Edgar, I'm Simon," he said, slipping himself into the chair next to her so he could be more 'eye level' with the rock. "And it's okay that he doesn't talk much. Some just have harder exteriors than others," he said and shrugged before looking back to the girl and smiled. Harder exteriors. "That or granite, maybe he doesn't need to speak. Sometimes we don't need a big long conversation, just someone to listen and understand."

"I'm Simon," he said again to the girl this time and not the rock. He gave her a smile before leaning forward and beginning to stack up his books. The titles included "Vampires: The Occult Truth" by Konstantinos, "The Element Encyclopedia of Vampires" by Theresa Cheung, "Night Stalkers and Creatures from the Darkside," by Nina Montague, "The Dead Travel Fast" by Valentine Nuzum, and a very large book in three volumes, called "A Brief History of Vampires," written by M.J. Trow. There were a couple other books about The Living Dead in general and one called "Ghosts, Inferi, and Vampires."
