Closed Don't Mind Me... Breaking In... Over Here... pv Juniper/Scarlet

Juniper was on her way to the potions room to get some... super secret things. But shhh!!! You can't know and she can't tell anyone. ANYONE. She wore all black like she saw spies do in movies, and tip-toed around. She stuck her head out to look at open corridors before rolling across the ground like a weirdo. However, Hogwarts seemed a lot bigger at night. Many times she felt lost and had to backtrack, forgetting where the potions room was. She was most definitely walking in circles and she had zero clue on what to do now, She wiped sweat from her forehead. Soon she was on the first floor... then the ground floor.

It's down... right... So where were the moving staircases? She hated those things oh so much. She looked at the paintings on the wall and whispered for help. "Helloooo.... Wakey wakey! Uh... hi. I need some help-" Bit she was shooed away by grumpy portraits or were just woken up. "Crud." She scratched her chin, then heard a noise. Her heart stopped and she ran out of sight as if her life depended on it, because it might.

The sound passed and she peeked out. It was Cody! It had to be... he was the only one that short. Should I stop him? Or follow him. She got up and followed him from a distance, trying to catch him in the act of doing something evil. (Knowing him) Was he heading to the greenhouse? Oh crap what was he doing? She got up from behind the bush and ran. Whatever he was about to do, it would be bad. Horrible. And gosh, did she run. Her short legs pumped like she was trying to run a homerun.

"Co-" She started.

Then came the broken glass. She quickly moved her arms to cover her head as she let out a short scream- then quickly she shut her mouth. It was an instant to cover and yell, but she couldn't scream, people would hear her. She brushed off any glass shards that were on her and heard Cody yelling the horrid spell that spoiled their friendship for a great time. She ran in the greenhouse and held shaking hands to her mouth. "CODY!" He turned to her and asked what she was doing here.

She looked at the broken glass and back at him. "ME? What are YOU doing here?!" She took out her wand and held it to the glass... trying to remember the movement for reparo. In that moment, she couldn't. If anyone walked in, she would look like she was in mid casting a spell... maybe it looked like she broke the glass.

Every herbology lesson was the same, greenhouse one, the 'safe' plants, and it's not like there were only a couple of greenhouses and she and her classmates had had access to half of them. There were seven. She was not long ago reminded of the rules during the first class of the year, a repetition of what she had likely been told in first year, 'don't go inside any of the other greenhouses,' 'lots of dangerous plants.' When she found out that this year they would be shown the inside of greenhouse two this year, it clicked that it would be one new greenhouse a year. That put a damper on the rest of that lesson for her.

Whatever was in the other greenhouses was bound to be more interesting than what they were looking at, and for some random reason, after her herbology lesson earlier this week, she was determined to get a little tiny peak at what exactly was being kept in the other greenhouses. she figured if she chose the right time, she could take a quick peak in each of the other five greenhouses without anyone knowing she had been there.

Scarlet waited until classes were finished for the day, but didn't head straight to the greenhouses, she waited about an hour till five, hopefully by that time they would be clear of any lingering students and hopefully, and more importantly, professor Irons.

She knew one and two, so greenhouse three would be her first stop. Scarlet had no intention of putting herself in harms way, or getting caught, so she promised herself as she approached the greenhouse door that it would be nothing more than a quick peak inside.

'That's weird,' she thought to herself, spotting a gaping hole in the glass of the greenhouse two, shattered glass spread across the ground beneath it, she moved her hand to rest over her wand, just in case. It wasn't on her list of greenhouses to visit, but the clear disturbance made it worth a visit. Scarlet slowly edged into the greenhouse, head first, straining to get a better look inside.

It was the familiar red hair of Juniper that caught her eye first, Scarlet followed the girl's gaze to rest her eyes on Cody next, 'what are you two up to?' she wondered, better them than a dangerous out of control plant - a thought which briefly crossed her mind as she entered the greenhouse. "Fancy seeing you two here!" she said to the two of them, kind of happy that she was no longer alone in her rule breaking.

"Well at least I didn't break the actual greenhouse, I assume that was one of you two?" she said, laughing a little, "what are you doing here?" she said, turning his question back on the boy, "me? I just wanted a quick peak into the other greenhouses, like quick, unseen, leaving behind no trace kind of peak," she said eyeing the mess of broken glass.

Willow was having a relatively calm day. She had taken one of the plants the third years had been working with back to her dorm, with permission from Professor Irons, and was on her way to returning it to the proper greenhouse. Willow had a special journal in which she drew various plants, muggle and magical. The girl was a fairly talented artist, but it was because she practiced so viciously. One day in class she wasn't able to get as good of a drawing as she wanted. It was also one that she was interested in and wanted to spend more time with in general. Her calm day would turn awful as she heard glass panes breaking in the direction of the greenhouses. There were no classes in session, and Professor Irons surely wouldn't be the culprit of that. Her little prefect footsteps quickened, mostly because the plants might be in danger.

The sight she came upon was not particularly surprising. A couple of first years, a Gryffindor she didn't recognize. All in a greenhouse they were not supposed to be in outside of class time. "None of you move." Quickly she shuffled over to the third year greenhouse, returned the plant, and came back with an anger in her eyes and her hands on her hips. "I know you two at least should not be here." Her eyes flickered between Juniper and Cody. "Juniper, I'm so disappointed I thought you were better than this. Cody..." She just sighed before moving her attention to the Gryffindor. "For you... I truly don't know who you are, which means you're not a third year. But you're definitely not a prefect. Which means no matter what year you are, you shouldn't be here either."

Willow walked over to the glass panes, muttering a quick spell. "Reparo." The glass quickly gathered itself back into the pane, solidifying once more. She turned back to the three. "Do you all have no respect for plants? Not even that, for the Professors? Who lock these up for your own good? You could've gotten hurt. You could damage the plants, which are really the victims in this situation." Another muttering to herself, "And me because my whole afternoon is ruined."

"This is such a disappointing representation of your houses. To any teams you're apart of." Willow directed that at Cody, who had recently joined the Hufflepuff duelling team. To him she was not only his house prefect, but one of his captains. "I'll give you all the chance to explain yourselves, but I'll let you know you all are on thin ice and will probably be leaving this greenhouse with a date for detention."

Juniper ran her hand through her hair nervously. "Are you actually stupid?" she could NOT believe what she was seeing right now. Her cousin, her very own cousin, just destroyed Hogwarts property. Like, not even trying to be quiet about it! That was disappointing itself, except that she was ready to forgive his stupidity. Now... she just wanted to carry him away and wrap him with bubble wrap. He gets into way too much trouble, way more than she does. She didn't know what to do with him. Thank god there was no one else here.

Until Scarlet came along and gave her a heart attack. "Scarlet! What are YOU doing here? Go! You can't get in trouble too!" Her wand was still in her hand, and she turned to-Cody. "Put your wand away." She whispered harshly. "Scarlet, we're in deep trouble right now if we don't fix this. If I don't fix this." what was Cody thinking? This is why he needed her. He made stupid mistakes without planning ahead. Ugh.

"None of you move"

Her heart stopped and dropped at the same time. She froze in place and looked at Cody and Scarlet with wide eyes. She glanced around at saw Willow, the Hufflepuff prefect. Of course it had to be the one prefect Juniper really liked. Juniper told herself not to let the sadness show when Willow said the words she did. But her heart just dropped. "we do respect the plants." She said weakly. But her voice cracked and she shut her mouth. She felt like she was getting scolded, which she was. She hated it.

Quick to think, she spoke up. "it was me. I wanted to explore the plants since I heard there were cool and dangerous ones in there, and I threw a rock at the glass to get in. Cody and Scarlet were trying to stop me. But I wouldn't listen." She risked a look at Cody. Hopefully he knew to shut up and take it. She finally forgave him. She looked at Scarlet with pleading eyes. Take Cody. He'll just make things worse.

[font=century gothic]Well, crap. He was finally busted. Did he care? The answer was a very simple NO. But what did make him feel guilty, like playing the executioner to a man that you know is innocent.

"No Juni. I can't let you take ALL the blame, even though you might have had a hand in breaking in." Cody knew it was a lie, since Juniper was really just approaching Cody out of suspicion. But, the look Juniper had on her face, the expression telling him to not talk or tell his side of the story. Well, he was going to talk. No matter how much he cared for his cousin and would try to keep her out of trouble, not to mention that Cody was invited over to her house for christmas break.

"Listen Willow, I know we had our history, and that I'm on the dueling team where I'm making an illusion that the Hufflepuff house and dueling team is completly irresponsible and reckless, but you should know that's just me by this point. Upon entrance of the Greenhouse, I did try the locking and unlocking charm on the door, to make sure it would open if it were magically locked. But Juniper, let me tell my side of the story. I arrived, talking with Juniper, NOT trying to stop her as she was telling you, I thrive on drama as you know, but it makes me feel crazy when I'm not the one stirring up the recipe for disaster. I attempted to destroy a plant or two when we broke in. So you see, It's not entirely Juniper's fault. Sure, it wasn't her idea, it was our idea, so boom. there you go." Cody said, thinking that he hid the six membered group of chaos well in the message.

Sadly, Cody would begin to go crazy, taking up an american part of him, hoping to make Juniper laugh, maybe even Scarlet, since it was Cody's fault in the first place.

"I PLEAD THE FIFTH APPLESAUCE AMENDMENT! I RESERVE THE APPLESAUCE RIGHT TO REMAIN SILENT! I RESERVE THE RIGHT TO A GRAND APPLESAUCE JURY! I CAN'T BE TRIED FOR THE SAME APPLESAUCE CRIME TWICE! I WANT THE SIXTH APPLESAUCE AMENDMENT! I WANT THE SPEEDY APPLESAUCE AND PUBLIC APPLE PIE TRIAL! I WANT A GREEN ONION LAWYER! I WANT AN IMPARTIAL JURY OF PERCIVAL GRAY AND WINNIE HARPER! I WANT TO KNOW WHO TIPPED US OFF! I ALSO WANT THE EIGHTH MUSHROOM SOUP AMENDMENT! I SHALL NOT GET A CRUEL SANDWICH AND EXCESSIVE BAIL AND PUNISHMENT!" He cried out, knowing they weren't in America and those would immediately be discarded. But he would add a high pitched voice to his words. He decided to add the word applesauce in it, just because it was his cousin's favorite food. Or mush. Or liquid. Whatever applesauce was anymore. Sure, he also threw in Percival Gray and Winnie Harper, but because he knew full well that he would be convicted of being guilty and was at fault for vandalizing school property. Especially since Cody made the two his sworn enemy.

And as of this moment, Cody knew Willow was going on his list of enemies. "NO! Willow. Seriously, I'm just as fault as much as these two are!"

He growled. He was mad at his prefect and captain, for catching two people in the scene of the crime. "Listen Scarlet, do you think you can run far far far far far away from Willow until me and Juniper suffer our consequence? Maybe warn BOOM of an upcoming issue? I think you know what I'm talking about. At least try to tell them that three out of six members of BOOM has been sentenced to detention." Cody thought of detention as jail. As an extension of a prison a school could be.

He looked at Willow, his eyes burrowed in anger. Anger that he got detention. But then he... calmed down? Maybe it actually helped to write down how he felt in his journal, his Book of Shadows that no one will EVER find out about.

"Willow. I'm sorry, honestly. I deserve this. Come on, hit me with your worst. I only wish to learn from you. To learn from my mistake. To understand my captain better. I say this because I mean it. Please, don't murder me, please understand the reason for this heinous attack was because I was so bored of doing nothing besides eating, sleeping, and attending class. Dueling is my way of ridding of my steam, that and writing in my Book of Shadows. But if it doesn't help completely, I get destructive. Maybe I can learn to knit? Not that I can't read, cause you had a book with you last time."

He turned to Juniper. Spoke in Gobbledegook. "Jamoniqu, o'l ruququx duqu ciomf ru liem su xua, duqu mus omckabomf xua om itiquxsgomf o bu. Fuqu mus squiesomf xua koji xua equi vuqusg os, koji xua equi i cuarom vuqusg lx vgoki. Cem xua duqufoti li, duqu os ekk?"[/green] Juniper, I'm sorry for being so mean to you, for not including you in everything I do. For not treating you like you are worth it, like you are a cousin worth my while. Can you forgive me, for it all? . [/font]

“We!?” she repeated, whilst she saw the pair as her friends, she wasn’t exactly up for taking the blame for all the mess they had created in the greenhouse, “I’ll help you clear it up, but it’s your mess, you know how I like a good prank, but this is a bit too much,” she confessed to Juniper and Cody.

Scarlet knew, with the sound of the new voice in the greenhouse, that any hope she had to get out this mess without being spotted was lost, ‘great,’ she thought to herself. She swung around to see Willow, the Hufflepuff prefect she recognised from around school, and as one of the students that took the lead in the dungeons at the start of the year. “If it makes any difference I literally just got here,” she said to the prefect, trying to distinguish herself from the mess.

“Of course we do,” she quickly butted in, though the evidence around them wasn’t in their favour, that didn’t stop the prefect though, she continued with speech. Finally, the moment Scarlet had been waiting for, the chance to explain how she had just as much walked in on this mess as the prefect, but before she could try and defend herself, Juniper jumped to take the blame.

Scarlet hadn’t been there to see what exactly had led to the destruction of parts of the greenhouse, but she was pretty sure it didn’t happen as Juniper said, she seemed just as shocked as Scarlet before Willow had arrived. As Cody sent off on some weird tangent, talking about applesauce and mushrooms and other things that she hadn’t heard of, she figured that if any of them had a chance of getting out of trouble, some of their stories had to match, and since she had no idea what Cody was talking about, she fell back on Juniper’s story.

“What Juniper said is true, I came in and Cody was telling Juniper to stop, I didn’t really know what was going on, but saw the shattered glass and was just surprised as you are,” she said, agreeing with Juniper, though she still wasn’t entirely sure what had happened herself.

Willow should've known that this wouldn't end up being a simple explanation, especially not with Cody present in the chaos. But she definitely wasn't expecting... whatever just happened. Juniper tried to take the blame first, which... Willow would have to be a ridiculous fool or have never met Cody to believe that. In this situation, she was neither. But she was just someone trying to get the heat for a friend. Her eyes narrowed, but opened back up in surprise as Cody went on his rant. He, at the very least, implicated both Juniper and Cody. He also said some stuff about representing the house that didn't make sense.

Willow opened her mouth to respond- but Cody started yelling about an applesauce amendment? Also, if there was anyone that was impartial it wasn't Percival Gray, so if Cody was trying to sweeten the story it only went more sour. Her hands frustratingly dragged through her hair, moving any stray pieces out of the way. Cody kept going... then spoke in a different language to Juniper that she didn't understand.

Finally Scarlet spoke her piece, and she was probably the least guilty one here.

Willow's arms crossed as she regarded the three of them. First, to Scarlet. "Get out of here before I change my mind. Scarlet, was it? A unique name. I'll be sure to inform Professor Irons of your presence here."

Then to Juniper. "I don't know if you actually had a part in this, but I surely don't think that you broke the glass. Don't take the fall for people, because it's just going to end up getting you in more trouble than it's worth. And you're leaving the actual culprits free from dealing with accountability for their actions." Her eyes flicked to Cody. "I get the intention, why you want to do it, but ultimately... it won't do you any good."

Her eyes visibly darkened as she turned to Cody. As one of her duellist's and a student of Hufflepuff, and someone she had dealt with before she was running out of patience. "I don't believe your apology. If you wanted to do better you wouldn't have done this in the first place, you can't continue to break rules then beg for forgiveness afterwards. That's not how this works. Irresponsibility and recklessness won't get you anywhere in this school. Magic is dangerous. There is a reason Professors limit us, why we don't want people getting into random fights. People and their health is on the line. You're not throwing sand at another kid's eyes, you're breaking into Greenhouses that have plants that will bite you, that can do so many things to harm you. You're lucky you had two people here in case anything wrong."

She took a deep breath, rubbing her head as an incoming headache threatened the rest of her day. "I'm simply disappointed. In the both of you." Her eyes had changed from a dark anger to a sadness that one might see in a parent after they got bad grades. "You guys have no idea what this school, what magic is capable of, clearly. I am... entirely too busy to really give you any detention. But I do want you guys to do a write up of all the possible ways this could have gone poorly. All of the plants you two would not have been able to defend yourself against. If you don't give me that within a week, then I'll be forced to give you detention and you'll still owe the detention."

Giving a once over glance to the Greenhouse, everything seemed to be fine with the plants and the building. "I'll be escorting the both of you back to the castle now, so." She gestured towards the door, and would exit behind them. Making sure to lock the door as they left.

The essay is not an OOC thing. You don't actually have to write that. You can just tell me whether or not they would do it.

Really? An ESSAY? Cody gasped dramatically, before deciding to speak out, outraged.

"AN ESSAY? YOU EXPECT ME TO WRITE AN ESSAY? GO GIVE THEM THE ESSAY. IT IS NOT THEIR FAULT. I SWEAR IT IS MINE ENTIRELY." Wait.... did she- oh whatever, Cody shook off the thought, his eyes looking up at Willow. Hard to look angry when you don't look intimidating.

He stomped a few time, then decided to throw himself to the ground, his arms and legs flailing and pounding the ground. He was looking very pathetic now, but what he did was for a reason. He wasn't crying, yet he was screaming in anger, in frustration.

His hands now stopped pounding the ground and Cody attempted to grab onto something to get up. His eyes still burrowed in a temper tantrum.

He turned and looked at Juniper. He gave her a hug, before yelling one final time at Willow. "LET THEM GO. WHATEVER GRUDGE YOU HAVE AGAINST ME HAS TO HAVE BEEN GONE SINCE I SCRUBBED THAT DIRTY DUELING ROOM! LET THEM GO. NOW." He was now demanding something to someone who clearly had more power than Cody ever had. And that was the worst Cody would've performed.

Scarlet didn't mind getting caught for something that she had done, the idea that this was something that would likely happen made any prank more thrilling - well it was trying to avoid getting caught that was the exciting part. But it didn't have the same kind of effect when you hadn't actually done anything wrong.

Scarlet nodded back at the prefect, she was grateful that she was being allowed to just walk away. Whilst she wasn't exactly pleased that her name was being passed onto the Herbology professor, it definitely was one of the better outcomes of being found in the trashed greenhouse.

She began to make her way towards the exit of the greenhouse - this time the actual exit, not just the whole created by Cody, though she did originally turn to face the way that she had entered. She looked back towards her two friends before leaving, offering the pair a quick smile, in her head she was telling them that she would catch up with the pair later - she still had quite a few questions about everything that had happened.
