Winifrey's brow furrowed in confusion at Lorelai's remark. "What's blood status?" She asked, her mouth slightly full of food. She needed to stop doing that.

She had heard some whispers of this blood status that students valued so much, but Winifrey did not know what it was exactly. The first thing that comes to her mind when she thinks of blood status is, well, blood. Did people have different colored blood here? What other kind of blood could there possibly be?

As Winifrey thought about it more and more, her face continued to twist into confusion. Maybe she shouldn't try to think about it so much. Winifrey would not doubt the idea that there were spells or potions that could turn people's blood different colors, not that she wanted to know about it. The thought of it made her feel something that she was not quite sure of. She was not scared of blood, she just did not really like it. Who likes blood anyway?

Winifrey continued to eat, drinking water every now and then to wash down the food. Her meal was so delicious and she wondered if she would ever get used to it. Winifrey hoped not. She also hoped that the food would always be this good. She had no doubts about it.

"To add to the talk about bullying. I have heard some goes on her. Something about blood status? I'm new to all this wizard politics, but it seems some students care a lot?"
"What's blood status?"
Mardella grimaced at the unpleasant topic, tucking a slightly wet strand of dark hair behind her ear. "It's a bit like racism - It is racism, I suppose." She amended, putting down her fork. "It's basically an old idea about people who come from really old magical families being better than people who come from the muggle side from Britain. It's stupid, of course, and not true at all." Mardella scowled, for the first time since coming to Hogwarts. "There was a huge war over it before we were born and lots of people died."

Abruptly, she noticed her shoulders had tensed and she deliberately straightened and took a long glug of juice. "Nowadays," She said, glancing up to Wini and the new girl, "it's a lot better. Most people don't really think that way, unless they're from older generations (or really stuffy families) and if they do, they're a lot more careful about who they say it to. It doesn't much matter to me anyways, " Mardella hesitated a moment, fork stopping before her mouth. Her lips parted for a moment and then shut as if she thought better of what she had been planning to say. Finally, she spoke again, trying for a reassuring tone. "...As long as you're magical, majority of people will treat you no differently."

Aurelia’s eyebrows narrowed slightly, almost cringing, when she heard Lorelai talking about bullying in Hogwarts. She taught that being miles away from her old muggle school would allow her to retreat from the nasty bullies that haunted her for a majority of years. But it also bothered her that Lorelai just revealed that she was being bullied. Way to trust someone with your dark secrets, she thought in her head. She hope they would not press into the situation further. It was a sensitive topic for Aurelia. She had a first hand experienced with bullies and was tormented Everyday.

Winifrey also began to question about the odd topic.
What’s blood status?
Winifrey asked.
It's a bit like racism - It is racism, I suppose. It's basically an old idea about people who come from really old magical families being better than people who come from the muggle side from Britain. It's stupid, of course, and not true at all.
Mardella replies. Aurelia was relieved that it didn’t concern her. She belonged to a fairly long line of wizards. She however, was afraid that her friends were muggle or muggle borns and would have troubles in Hogwarts.

Don’t worry. If any outsider tries to harm any of you, I will personally use the knockback jinx on them!” Aurelia said jokingly, even though she would not hesitate to give someone a bloody nose if they ever harmed her friends. She remembered giving one to a bully in her muggle school when she had enough of their pestering. She was pulled out from school a week later when her parents were notified about the situation.

Btw, after this meal, can we go to the dorm of Hermoine Granger? It hasn’t been active in days. I think Mardella was starting a game of truth or dare...

"To add to the talk about bullying. I have heard some goes on her. Something about blood status? I'm new to all this wizard politics, but it seems some students care a lot?"
Makena looked up from her plate she knew lots about blood status it is a horrible thing to be bullied for, but all bullying is horrible.
"What's blood status?"
Wini asked. Makena was about to answer her when Mardella answered.
"It's a bit like racism - It is racism, I suppose. It's basically an old idea about people who come from really old magical families being better than people who come from the muggle side from Britain. It's stupid, of course, and not true at all. There was a huge war over it before we were born and lots of people died."
Mardella said pausing after saying it and then she continued.
"Nowadays, it's a lot better. Most people don't really think that way, unless they're from older generations and if they do, they're a lot more careful about who they say it to. It doesn't much matter to me anyways...As long as you're magical, majority of people will treat you no differently."
Mardella said. Makena agreed it was horrible and hardly any witches or wizards talk about blood status in a bad way.
“Don’t worry. If any outsider tries to harm any of you, I will personally use the knockback jinx on them!”
Aurelia said jokingly but also serious. "Haha thanks Aurelia" Makena said with a smile. "Well I think we should go back to our dorm for a bit and just rest before we have to back to lesson what do you guys think."

It’s dinner, Makena. We go back to our dorms and stay till morning.

The girls were almost done with thier food. Just then, a melodic chimes of bells echoed through the whole hall. It was similar to the one in breakfast but it was as if someone created a different piece of music to be played. The rhythm of every chime of bell was rung at the perfect timing. She was curious of how they magically made it so.

“The plates would be disappearing in a few minutes. Hurry up and get the desert.” Aurelia urged. Already, in the Ravenclaw table, plates were disappearing. Though she realised the food that were in people’s hands didn’t.

“I would take some of that...” She said as her hand reached for a couple of what looked like kebabs.

“I could use some midnight snacks.” She said. Maybe they could have a slumber party tonight and Lorelai could come over. There was an extra unoccupied bed. She didn’t think the prefects would mind.

“Do you guys want to have a sleepover? I mean it more like Lorelai would be the one sleeping over. There’s an extra bed. Or maybe you could just come over for fun.” She asked Lorelai.

Winifrey listened to the talk of blood-status. The thought of someone killing another simply because of that made her insides churn. A small frown pulled at her lips.

She was a muggle-born. Winifrey wondered if her friends knew that about her. She didn't know their blood-status, so she doubted they knew hers. The small brunette decided to keep it to herself.

Winifrey giggled at Aurelia's proclamation, grateful that she had some pretty cool friends on her side. Hopefully it wouldn't be necessary, even though Winifrey would punch someone in a heartbeat if they were bullying her friends. Or anyone else at that matter.

Winifrey nodded at Makena's suggestion of going back to the dorm. She still had some homework left to do before going to bed.

Suddenly the chimes went off as the plates started disappearing. Winifrey laughed lightly as her friends dove for the desserts that were beginning to disappear. She quickly grabbed a couple of white chocolate macadamia nut cookies before placing them neatly into her robe pocket. She was already full, but she may become hungry later.

"Yes! You should come and stay with us Lorelai!" Winifrey smiled, tugging lightly on the girl's arm as she stood to head towards the dormitories. She may not get any sleep tonight, but it was worth it.
