NOTE: Morgansfort is a Basic Fantasy RPG (BFRPG) adventure. I read through their copyright thing, and as long as I'm not copying word per word, make it an adventure that isn't NC-17 or higher (which I wouldn't, as this is a PG-13 site) and state that this adventure is from Basic Fantasy RPG (BFRPG), I'm not going against them. So in other words, I have permission to do this. Also, I need to include the logo to BFRPG.

So far, so good. The little Part Goblin eagerly walked into the library, holding a three sided cardboard wall, or piece, as his gamemaster's screen. He had little figurines in human, halfling, dwarf, and elf. Classes including a magic-user, cleric, fighter, or a thief! Perhaps this was the underlying thought that gave him his desire for chaos, to thrive off of danger? No. He had asked his friends to show up, and his enemies as well. Juniper, Lizzy, Valerie, and someone he just randomly met out in the hall, Youssuf Baid.

They were to create their characters, and to write it down. To assist with that, he passed out the character creation guide. This informed them of what the different dice were, what race/class they could be and what fit with it, the equipment they could buy, etc. This may just be a solo, but the adventure Cody picked, was not of a one shot.

It was Morgansfort, something he bought out of muggle London, two years before coming to Hogwarts, as a matter of fact, he bought a whole set of books, each one involving a map. Of a sort anyways.

He was prepared, he was ready. He let the players pick out and customize their characters for the next thirty minutes to an hour. They were to meet at seven o clock in the morning, on Saturday, in the Library, just to roleplay. It would be their chance to be someone other than themselves, and Cody was one who desired to encourage that. He seeked friendship in enemies, love and not hate.

He also brought seven packs of polyhedral dice, which he would later explain as for the d4, d6, d8, d10, d12, and d20. As well as the percentile die, the d100.

He clasped his hand together, smiled at the freshly written parchments with their character sheet on it. Ai, it was laying around the table of course, and normally, Cody would want to have a hand in it, but he so desired to be a Dungeon Master, just once, but he couldn't resist. He brought his own character as well. It might be his fault, but he was going to play something he never has before; a Dwarf Fighter.

What was everyone thinking as they wrote down their character sheet? This would be something Cody questioned, perhaps even seen fit to assist in creating.

He thought about it, then looked down. He wasn't finished with his character sheet, and everyone else probably weren't. Well, it was time for them to finish it, so the game can begin.

"Step one, pick a name, class, race, and set yourself at level one, which has zero (0) experience points (xp). Step two, lay out your statistics; Strength (Str), Wisdom (Wis), Intelligence (Int), Charisma (Cha), Constitution (Con), and Dexterity (Dex), roll a 3d6 for each stat. I'll be generous this time around and let you pick which stats get what number. Remember, it has to work for your class, or race, which has it's restrictions on stat blocks. Step three, set your hit points. Your class tells you what die to roll, for instance, a magic-user has a 1d4 hit dice, meaning if he rolls a one on that 1d4, his hit points are 1 for the duration of his first level, making him vulnerable. Step four, if your character is either a magic-user or a cleric, provide the spells he might know at first level. Step five, buying equipment. You start off with 130 gold pieces, so have fun picking what your character has! Step six, if your character has any armor, except magic users, you add that in to your 10+constitution modifier+your armor bonus. Step seven, please ignore the attack bonus section, as I will cover that in our next session, as it really isn't needed today. Also, I don't need y'all to work on the Saving Throws today, as that's something we'll work on the next session."

Ugh, that was a big informational thing he just said, but it couldn't hurt him to actually try, could it? Regardless, the players just finished their characters. (done through owls, present character sheets will be shown in reducio)

Cody had to play both the Game Master and Hunter, his Dwarf Fighter, meaning he couldn't make the big decisions, otherwise he spoiled the adventure for the party.

He made his best Game Master voice, which was of a deep voice, as if you were listening to a man in the phone, blackmailing you. And his voice for Hunter, was high pitched, and wild. There were differences. The Game Master didn't exist in the world, but Hunter did.

His deep voice came on, he looked around the table, his map not set up, but his Game Master's screen already set, the character figurines passed out.

"Welcome to Morgansfort, located along the coast, south of Slateholm. The fortress and surrounding territory are under the control of Baron Morgan Rathwynn, nephew by marriage to Duke Helsung II of Slateholm. Morgan is a fifth son, and thus seemed destined for the priesthood, but he distinguished himself with arms while still young, so his father allowed him to enter the military. After a successful career fighting humanoid incursions from the southern forests, Morgan decided to stake a claim in that territory. However, twenty one years later, he passed it down to his son. The people of Morgansfort dare not speak his name, as he allowed nonhumanoids to be welcomed into Morgansfort. And now, you are welcomed to Morgansfort, what do you do?"

Hunter's high pitched voice, even for a Dwarf, caused Cody to crack up while he was talking. This made him feel silly, but it was only a game. "I say hi to the gate!"

Youssuf walked past the library calmly, paused, and then looked back. Cody was in there. The young half-goblin looked to be preparing a D&D game. He casually walked over and asked, "Hey Cody, great to see you again. Are you preparing a D&D? You being the Game Master? Can I join?"
The short first-year looked at him critically and he said quickly," I used to play Dungeons and Dragons at home with my friends. I've done the Temple of Elemental Evil, it took us six hours. Castle Ravenloft, or at least the new version, The Curse of Strahd, took us almost double that. We were so hopped up on coffee, you wouldn't believe me."
Cody smiled and welcomed him. Youssuf quickly set up his character as an Elf and a Magic-User, his normal class/race. Although he would have preferred a Combination Class.

Cody had invited Lizzy to the library to roleplay. She wasn't entirely sure why though. After their duel, which had ended with them both in detention, she'd thought he'd never talk to her again... with anything good to say anyways. Yet, here she was looking around for Cody on a friendly basis. Lizzy spotted him quickly with another boy she hadn't met before. It seemed Cody had started a whole little club around this.

Lizzy walked over to the table where Cody had set up the whole thing. The Gryffindor had never done anything like this before, but she was a fast learner. Lizzy glanced over the sheets and papers that he had laid out. He went to work immediately, explaining the various things they had to do, barely taking a breath between sentences. This might turn out to be a lot more complicated than she had thought it would be.

Cody started the Game Master part in a really deep voice, and changed to his character, Hunter, in a high voice. It was kind of funny. When Cody was like this, it would be easy to be friends with him, but most of the time that Lizzy had known him, he was a chaotic little monster. Her own character was fairly developed, and she was already beginning to understand the whole concept of how to play better.

Youssuf smiled and submerged himself into the zone he called the Eye. A region of ultimate focus, where he could choose to put himself into a character. An area where he was Amakir the Bold, where he could feel him and be him. It was really useful in D&D campaigns, cause he could pay attention to details in his imagination that others couldn't. He listened carefully to the characteristic description by Cody, or rather, he corrected himself, the Game Master.

Youssuf thought for a minute and then decided to play completely as Amakir.

Amakir the Bold walked up to the Gates of Morgansfort, and spotted Hunter, the brave Dwarf. He clapped him on the shoulder and said, "It's good to see you, Hunter." Elves were normally wise, and calm. But Amakir was no common elf. Years of fighting on the western fronts had made him tough, and far more worldly that the ordinary elf.
He boomed, "We stand at the gates of Morgansfort, a hive of non-human activity, stronghold of all manner of creatures. Yet we are kept outside?! HOY!"
Amakir knocked with his staff on the huge iron gates, creating a hollow boom!

Juniper wasn't sure about WHY she actually came to the library to meet with- her cousin. It took some time to get used to, but it made her feel like it was okay to hate him even if they were family, since family argues all the time. Right? Family was just so complicated- and Juniper had no idea why she only found out this year that she had a cousin at Hogwarts. Something about fate- the way they met and became best friends. Until... the incident. Which, by the way, was not forgotten yet.

She pushed open the door a bit too hard, but didn't wince when it hit the wall. She did her best to ignore it as well as the glares it earned her. At this point she could care less if they had a problem with noise- they could suck it up. She did wish cody would be loud so she could FIND him, but of course he wasn't. She had to navigate the place on her own to find the table.

She made her way over and didn't say anything mean to Cody, but she pointedly sat next to the girl, Lizzy, and not him. She raised her eyebrows at the boy she did not know yet, and lifted her chin in greeting. She waved at lizzy, who she met at the pet training thingy when Cody threw spiders at her- Juniper had no idea why Lizzy at agreed to come, but then again, she didn't know why she did so herself either.

She listened to the instructions and nodded. "Cool beans..." SHe looked at the boy. "Wow, dedication. Me and my softball team mates would play video games ALL the time and spend HOURS on certain levels." She smiled to herself and set to making her character.

She waited for everyone to make their moves.
Adira adjusted the cape on her back with ease- to anyone else, she might of been cold. But she was checking, once again, that her weapons were hidden. the last thing she needed was to use up her energy escaping some sort of security or whatever. Some sort of officials. She walked lightly on her feet like she walked with a purpose because she did. Her life needed this- and those close to her.
Walking to the gate, she heard a loud boom. She narrowed her eyebrows and slinked out of sight. So they were trying to go through, too? She could use that... She brushed herself and got up, walking over. She did not greet anyone but instead studied the structure before her. She turned to those behind her.
"Any of you know how to climb?"

She did not wait for an answer and again studied the structure.

"Everyone can join. But it seems that out of the four people I invited today, Valerie is not attending today. Maybe she has some homework to do for another class. Good thing I'm all caught up!" Cody said, talking directly to Youssuf. He believed him, even though he was a little surprised that an eleven year old boy would drink coffee. Soda would be a dead believable truth. But Coffee, well, Cody never enjoyed it. "Yeah, I am familiar with those Dungeons and Dragons branches and stories. But today, we're not talking about Dungeons and Dragons, not necessarily. We're playing something from an amazing company called Basic Fantasy, and it's a starter, or an introduction into more extensive roleplays, like Dungeons and Dragons, which both of us have played, but with the girls opposite us, I'm willing to bet they haven't."

Cody gulped, belched, and apologized. "So. Cuz, Liz, and Youssuf. We are gathered here today to put aside our differences and have fun. Find a common. A middle. Something to unite for, not start a war over. Even if I am afraid of Lizzy and got detention for igniting a duel. I was still man enough to admit my mistake."
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Cody laughed, not to be rude, but in good spirits, for the names everyone gave their characters were awesome. Hunter, the Dwarf Fighter. Amakir, the Elf Magic-User. Aestra, an Elf Fighter. Adia, the Elf Thief. What was cool, was that the crew was brought together by a common purpose, the only issue, is that there were no Clerics. Regardless, there might be one lurking somewhere, if there was one.

The game master kicked in. "Well, my young adventurers. It seems you are all welcomed into Morgansfort, but yet... the gate is locked. Closed. Attempting to climb over the walls aren't we, Adia? The walls are crumbling. Fragile. Just by touching it, you'll notice rock dust raining down on you. This 'Morgansfort' area isn't too great in battle. Roll a d20 in Strength for your athletics if you are to go over the wall. But a little bit of information for everyone else, within your sight, you see Southwest tower, and Southeast tower, both on the same side of the Gatehouse, where you are now. Also, Hunter. The gate just continues to keep it's iron trap closed, regardless of whether you're talking to it or not. It seems that Aestra is just staring at Morgansfort right now, not sure what to do at all. And as for Amakir, his words would receive a response, in addition to him banging his staff upon the gate. The answer back, was of a eerie creaking of the gate. A rhythmic drum beating seemed to be behind the walls. What do you do?"

Cody thought for a minute, then pretended to sound like he just inhaled the air from a balloon. Hunter was making his return.

"Uhhh- tall people with pointy earssss- lookkkk the gate is opennn with a band waiting for us!" Hunter would scream in delight, and come charging into the little town known as Morgansfort. Of course, the boy would see nothing as far as his eyes could see. (Cody rolled Perception/Wisdom for Hunter, getting the following- d20:2-1=1) Apparently, not very far. He didn't even see the knight walking by him, who stepped on his toes because he was in the way. A sharp wince would be heard from Hunter.

The game master took the reigns back over in voice. "So. Hunter... being Hunter, charged into Morgansfort, didn't see anything past his nose, got hit by a knight and treaded on as well. What are you all going to do?"

Unlike Youssuf, Cody hasn't made up his mind on whether he'd be only who he was roleplaying as. Especially since being the Game Master was a big responsibility.

Lizzy smiled at Juniper, she remembered her from the Training Jamboree. If Lizzy recalled correctly, Juniper was training her pet frog. Cody was correct in guessing that she had never played Dungeons and Dragons, or Basic Fantasy, or whatever it was called. Was it that obvious? No matter, Lizzy thought that she had a pretty good character layout so far. She had to smile when Cody admitted he was afraid of her, and on top of that admitted that he was the one who had landed the two in detention! If he could own up to his mistakes, Lizzy could play this game in the library with him without starting any fight between them. Their relationship was turning from complete and total enemies to very complicated. He started a duel, landed them both in detention, fought dirty in said duel, and now invited her to the library to find common ground? Lizzy would never understand how boys thought.

The "Game Master" said her character, Aestra, was just staring at the gate, unsure of what to do. That wasn't correct in the slightest, but Lizzy didn't need to correct him. Instead of relaying an action, she had listened and watched everyone else to see what they would do. Lizzy was quietly observing the course of actions to determine the best path to follow. That was just how her brain worked. She had to think out every possible move, and be strategic about her actions. Now she could see that Aida (Juniper) was trying to climb the walls and failing. Hunter (Cody) was talking to the gate? Okay, odd. Lastly, Amakir (Youssuf) had been knocking with his staff on the gate. His knocks were answered by the gate creaking open slowly.

There was Aestra's chance that she had been waiting for! All she had to do was take the lead of the group comprised of three elves and one dwarf. "All right, let's go on in! Thanks to this elf we have the gate open, so let's not sit and wait until it closes along with our opportunity!" Lizzy said, going into her character's mindset. When she mentioned the elf that had gotten the gate to open Aestra motioned to Amakir. Without another word, or glance behind her, Aestra started to walk towards the open gate into Morgansfort.

Amakir the Bold, elf wizard of the Western Reaches, invaluable to his unit, stared at the iron gates of Morgansfort. A moment earlier, two other acquaintances of Hunter's, Aida and Aestra, had shown up. Both were elves, making this group a singular oddity. Aida was a Thief, wearing a leather tunic and a strange buttoned cover around her throat. She had slunk into their group, somehow. He didn't believe anyone knew her at all, so he decided to keep a close watch on her. And Aestra was a Fighter, as evidenced by the quivers and bow slung over her back. She also wore a distinctive, yet almost invisible tiara around her head, signifying her attachment to the Nightshade clan. He himself was of the Cadarn, old allies of the Nightshade. He made a traditional Cadarn bow to her, thumping his staff while bringing his dagger to his forehead.
Meanwhile, the Thief tried to climb the wall. Tried and failed. Then the gate creaked open, revealing a muddy gloom behind it. And a rhythmic drum-like noise emitting from the darkness
(The noise he imagined reminded Youssuf dimly of a scene in the old Jumanji movie). Hunter, the Dwarf, had gone through a moment ago, rather foolishly, as he hadn't even seen through once. But then that was Hunter. Aestra was following him, and for a second, the irony struck him. The bold and brave warriors, leading the weak ones. He chuckled and followed through as well, with Aida still behind him. He spoke from his book, and brought a little light into the darkness of the insides of the gatehouse. He found himself in a street of sorts, leading to a courtyard with houses surrounding it. He opened his map, and saw that there was no need. Hunter, being Hunter, had run straight into a band of knights and then was knocked over and treaded on, judging by his sodden, muddy clothes.
He stood in front of his friend and boomed (rather impressively, too) - "O noble knights, art thou the guards of the citadel of Morgansfort? We bid you good day!"

Juniper scratched her head. "Okay okay... let me think." What would Aida do? She nodded. "Kay." She got it.
No sooner had the hunter knocked that the gates reacted. The gates were crumbling. Aida reached her hand forward and felt the dust that came off. "But I can still climb it. I am quick." But that might not be the best option. She watched Hunter charge in and get run over. She nodded and sighed. "Poor soul." Her voice was cool. She fingered her cloak and took her staff from the strap. She held her arm towards the gate and pointed to it with her staff. "Ladies first." She muttered to Amakir. Then she followed. She saw the knights and held her staff like it was supporting her. She tugged her cloak so it covered her armor and weapons. "Greetings. Me and my... rather strange company seek..." She thought. "many things. We hope to find what we badly need here." This was all a lie, of course.

"we come peacefully, I hope you know." She knew nothing about the others, actually. But she didn't feel like having to fight her way in (which was unlikely, hopefully)

"Hunter got trampled by knights, Aestra decided to walk into a dangerous place. Well, dangerous as Hunter was trampled. Amakir stood in front of Hunter and boomed rather remarkably with such words that would make the knights believe of the dwarf and elves party regardless of what they say. Except there was one issue, occuring after Adia. Aida was leaving the walls and entering. The gang was together now."

Cody spoke in his super low pitched voice. That was the Game Master talking.

But now, Cody decided to take a break from talking as a Game Master. After sliding out a black armored knight with three silver armored knight figurines. Sure, there wasn't a checkered map for the players to put their characters on and to move a certain speed. Regardless, Cody pulled out his book for creature statistics and attacks.

He tried to speak in a knight's voice, to no prevail. "Who are you? And no. You don't look very old. I don't believe it. Maybe the ones behind me do, but me? I'm the Black Knight. I run this segment of Morgansfort. And no one opens our gates, not with a staff. Not by causing our walls to crumble.
