Monsters or Men?
• Interacting with @Henry Knight •After classes, the halls were always busy. The hustle and bustle of students and staff hurrying around, trying to make the most of their free time. Sylvie herself was just now getting out of class, slowly making her way down the corridors. Though traffic was moving, there were pools of people standing still and talking amongst themselves.
Now, it wasn't like Sylvie to eavesdrop…
Who am I kidding? It most certainly was. She was a very nosey child, and above all, curious. As weaved and dodged the student body, occasionally she'd pick up on some idle chatter. What someone wanted for dinner, how badly somebody flunked a quiz… If she was really lucky, she'd catch some relationship drama. That was always juicy. Though the young Gryffindor didn't often spread gossip, she did enjoy hearing about it.
Today, though, she wouldn't get a taste of the usual relationship drama, but something even more interesting. Something she'd never heard her peers talk much about. As she slowed to a stop a few feet away from a conversation between a group of three, she leaned up against a wall to seem as nonchalant as possible as her ears pried into their discussion.
Sylvie was not a nonchalant little girl. She was very obvious 90% of the time and this would be no different, despite her efforts.
"God, I can't imagine having to drink people's blood. That sounds absolutely disgusting. Blood tastes like... Like pennies!" A boy brought up.
"I can't argue with that. The fangs just- they freak me out, to be honest. It would probably hurt a lot to get bit by a vampire." Another student shivered at the thought until the last student chimed in
"All of that's scary, but have you thought about werewolves? Think about it- turning into a beast on the full moon. The last full moon was on the 19th, you know!" Small gasps could be heard from the other two and the student continued. "It's terrifying to think of how many of us could be one of them… Turning into mindless beasts at night. Monsters, even! People have said there's a pack of werewolves in the forest here.. They could seriously hurt someone…"With that, Sylvie tuned out, pondering what she'd heard. Growing up in the muggle world with her parents, Sylvie had always heard stories about werewolves and other creatures of the night. She'd always been fascinated by their stories… But she thought they were just that when she was little. Stories! Well, that clearly was not the case time, and she grew to learn that overtime.
Still, she'd never met one personally. That she knew of, at least… Sure, Sylvie had a certain curiosity towards the idea of vampires and werewolves… Their lives. Did they have cultures, close-knit families? And perhaps, who's to say they weren't as monstrous as her peers seemed to believe.

Henry hung his backpack over his right shoulder, sleeping out into the corridors. Classes got out for the day and there is a buzz of excitement in the air among the students.
Henry walked through the corridors alone, choosing not to find friends to walk with unlike others who grouped together and "whisper" among themselves. Henry walked by them, not meaning to listen to any of their conversations but he couldn't it since his keen senses was picking them up.
"I still don't understand how Hogwarts can allow non humans in?"
"Why do we have to be forced to go to classes with monsters, don't they understand how dangerous it is?"
Henry walked past the gossip, dertmeined to ignore them as usual. This was his daily route, the one he hid from his friends. The one that they could never understand. Hearing prejudice and rumours and gossip daily, hearing others thoughts and wishes and doing nothing. Knowing he can't do anything or they would only become worse.
"The full moon was a few days, what if another werewolf escaped and what if it attack one of us? I don't like worrying each full moon about being attacked, can't they kick the werewolves out of school or is that to mean?"
"It isn't mean at all, werewolves are blood thirsty monsters that should be locked up and not welcomed at school."
Henry pushed by the two girls, pulling his bay over his shoulder a bit and looking down at the cracked floor. It wad better than at the faces of the students around him, at the faces of the students who had such harsh views and opinions on
werewolves and other non humans. Henry took a breath, hiding all emotion behind the 'barrier' as he continued to walk forward knowing that if he said something than it would only become worse.
"Their all monsters, their not like us. Their not human so why should we trust them?"
"Your right, their unpredictable and dangerous. Non humans should be banned from Hogwarts."
Henry didn't stay around, he couldn't. He continued on, walking past other students hiding his emotions when he heard more gossip. Talking about werewolves ans turning into mindless beasts and a werewolf pack in the forbidden forest.
Henry watched the students leave, rhe corridors started to empty our of students soon leaveing only a fee stragglers when Henry looked ahead and saw a girl I'm gryffindor robes who was near the gossip.... be wondered if she heard.
The third year offered a small nod and soft smile, watching the more students file past before speaking" tried of the gossip to?"

Monsters or Men?
• Interacting with @Henry Knight •Surely the different sentient species here at Hogwarts weren't as bad as her peers seemed to assume. It was a little ridiculous, even to someone like Miss O'Niell, to bunch everyone up en masse like that when it came to individuals. People's thoughts, personalities, feelings. That's what helped set people apart from rest, no? A couple of rotten apples didn't infect the entire tree, so to speak. A more open mind, she felt, would benefit those groups chatting amongst themselves greatly...
Sylvie stared at her shoes, lost in her thoughts, hardly noticing the boy approaching her. He gave her a start when he addressed her, causing her to flinch in surprise.
"Tired of the gossip too?"
"Oh- Hi, yeah." She stumbled over her words as her loosened her grip on the books she'd clutched to her chest in her start. "They, uh... Sure have some strong opinions, huh?" Opinion, not fact. Though, perhaps that, too, was an opinion to some. She turned her gaze up to where the group was standing, only to see they were beginning to disperse. She hadn't noticed... "I don't really pay attention to things like that, though." This was a lie! She loved listening to gossip. Not all of it, however, she believed. Paranoid as she was, the girl never failed to take things with a grain of salt. "My name is Sylvie. Yours?"

The girl stumbled over her words, Henry examined her with blue eyes thinking. Wondering.
Could she be? No.... the first person I mention the gossip of Hogwarts to turns out to he a non human as well? No, that's... thats
not possible.... right?
Henry eyed the girl, casting a gaze arlund the corridor. Looking for his orange feline; Loki. The feline helped him relax and gain confidences in different situations, he eas used to his feline always being with him. Where is he?
The girl spoke again. Looking around once more for his feline before bringing his eyes to the girl, looking at her as he listened to her words and noded with a reply"sounds like it, I wonder if they actually think that theur right," casting a gaze around ad the groups started to disperse. The corridor started to empty out. Leaveing Henry and the mystery girl talking about the gossipers.
Henry caught her words, moving his eyes for her as he nodded toward them. A soft smile appeared on the lad's facial features while all other emotion hid behind the 'barrier'. Unsure what to say, Henry held his hands in pockets as he spoke"same." That was true, Henry tried to ingore others words and gossip. Knowing thier probably lies, he tries to distance himself from those who tell it and spread the words around.
Sylvie. Her name. Her nodded toward it as he tried to remember where he saw her or the name heard from.... the first stage of the dueling championship!
Of course! She's Nicky's partner
Remembering seeing the girl at the duels when he went to surpport Nicky and a few other friends, the teen nodded slightly as he spoke"Henry." One word. One name. There wasn't any need for surnames or a longer sentence.
"Your on the gryffindor dueling team, right? Nicky's partner?" Henry asked and would wait a moment to give the gryffindor girl enough time to answer before continuing"I'm on the slytherin team," course his hoodie probably revealed that. Henry did support his house but he perfered his dueling hoodie over the uniform anyday.
Looking around at the near empty hall, only a few whispering students remained. Henry took a breath as his eyes met the girl's ans he ask"do you want to wlak together? At least away from the whispering and gossip?"
