Typically, the biggest hazard one had to expect when passing through the open window would be the awkward bulk of larger packages from family members and maybe, on a busy day filled with letters and packages needing to get to their wizard, other owls getting to and fro. So it was little surprise that on a day like this, sluggish for students sending letters, that when clearing the windows edge on snowy wings it was a rather nasty surprise to have one's wings tugged and ruffled by inky black webs!

Said webs were met with squawks of annoyance and the aggressive flapping of wings as one poor unfortunate snowy owl tried its best to avoid the damn things. Fluttering through like an arrow another owl, much tinier than the grumpy snow owl, made its way into the sluggish owlery. Or it would have if able; because much like grumpy snow owl, the thing got caught in Kittys webs.

One might have been able to deduce the spider behind this mess might've been proud if they were like most spiders. Catching 2 possible things all by herself like that but today they would have had a front row seat to what would have looked like a comically disgruntled looking spider. Her webs misplaced and quickly getting more ruined by the second all thanks to the slight panic of the little brown owl ruining the Webbers work.

Skittering up the wall one would be able to see the black webber tugging and fretting at the webs quickly unraveling form even as the newest arrival fluttered angrily, screeching lightly and batting its wings in the air as it settled and swat at the messy strands clinging to its foot and the alcove where it rested.

It wasn't quite a big ruckus but...well it was definitely loud for how quiet it had been. But loud enough, that anyone in the owlery would know something was off.

~~𓋒~~

Somehow he felt like he'd just been low key insulted.

It wouldn't be a surprise considering his friends but still, he was allowed to be a bit miffed! How dare, he would have to throw a pillow or something at them in retribution later, they'd made him lose his thoughts. Again.

Insults aside, he'd already been struggling with the letter. It was kinda stupid in the grand scheme of things, it wasn't even an important letter! Just a basic, boring thing he needed to write to his dad which he had no business taking this long on frankly but it wasn't like he was doing it on purpose or trying to put it off. He couldn't help it.

The words dripped off the paper, anything resembling a sentence better than a 7 years old attempt at small talk eluding him which was as frustrating as it sounded. By the end of 15 minutes, with 2 more burned papers than Elsian would care to admit, the Gryffindor had just about given up on any pretense of filling up the paper with what could be counted as a decent letter and had started scribbling silly doodles of owls on the corners and a big pumpkin taking up most of the space between the barely ⅓ of the page left over for actual writing. Filled mostly with silly questions about home and an I love you which at least showed he missed his family over the pathetic attempt from before.

Honestly he was rather proud of the silly pumpkin, messy as it was with him doodling slumped over in a crouch over his notebook, and had just been about done with the tiny copies surrounding it when he heard the squawk. He knew that squawk. And sadly enough instead of sending him running like one would expect the black haired boy had simply groaned, slumping in on himself even more and stilling because he was beginning to get used to this. No, rather wasn't he already used to it? That thought made him sad. He didn't want to be used to Kitty terrorizing birds.

Sure it sounded funny but only when you didn't have to deal with it.

Forcing himself up, knowing he eventually had to face the music less Kitty ended up causing a war between her feathered ‘friends’, Elsian shambled forward towards the stairs to make the annoying trek up on messy stairs. It was always messy here, and the smell of birds? Yeah, not a fan. But Kitty seemed to prefer the upper levels to his continued dread and so up was where he went, pen and notebook in hand as he shuffled up the stairs to the 3rd level as she usually chose to stay.

Tying a ribbon with one hand was already really hard, but also having to tie it to a moving owl was even harder. Samantha tried her hardest, but it just wasn't working. On her left hand was sitting her little owl, Amenadiel, and with her right one she was trying to tie the ribbon to the owl's paw. The letter, which was tried to the end of the ribbon, was really small. She had made it small on purpose, because Amenadiel was small as well and she didn't want him to carry around to much weight.

Sam was really patient, but Amenadiel wasn't. He had given his owner more then enough time to attach the letter and began to run out of patient. He started to move a lot and almost tried to fly away. He only decided to stay after Samantha had promised to give him food if he would stay still for a while.

Once Samantha had finally succeeded with tying the ribbon, she looked in her little bag for the food. She found it pretty quickly as there wasn't much in the bag, only her wand, a quill, some paper and the food. She gave her pet his food and looked around the owlery. She saw a beautiful snow owl fly trough the window, only for it to start flapping aggressively with its wing. Samantha shook her head disapproving, what a weird owl. Luckily for her she had a perfect little owl, who would never do something like that.
Once Amenadiel was finished eating Samantha send the little owl off and watched it fly. In the beginning the brown owl struggled with the weight of the letter and had a hard time keeping his balance, but after a few second he flew straight. Samantha watched her pet fly off, just like a proud parents watched their kids go to school for the first time.

After a turbulent start Amenadiel had taken off quite decently, at least that was until he flew trough the window. He hadn't really been paying attention to the window, as he was really focused on flying in a straight line, so it was a surprise to the young screech owl when he felt the webs. He screeched out of surprise and started to flap his little wings, trying to get the webs off him. But his movement made him only get more of the black web on him.

When Samantha heard Amenadiel's squaw, she rushed towards him and quickly took him away from the window. She had no idea what was wrong with her owl and was incredibly worried. She loved her owl with her whole heart and didn't want him to feel any pain.
"Are you okay?" She whispered as she was trying to see what was wrong with Amenadiel. She noticed something black on the brown feathers, it looked like thin threads, but she had no idea what it was. She carefully removed the unknown substance, making sure that she left nothing.
Once she was sure she removed all of it, whatever it may be, she carefully walked to the window so she could examine it. She carefully examined the window, and quickly realized what it was that had annoyed her amazing, perfect, beautiful owl.
Webs, black webs from a SPIDER. THERE WAS A SPIDER. Samantha let out a high pitch scream and quickly took a couple steps back. Her fear of spiders got the best of her and she couldn't think for a couple of seconds. Once she was able to think again, she quickly grabbed her wand out of her bag. She pointed her wand to the black spider and quickly thought of a spell she could use against it.

S
he'd certainly caused a stir, that much was for sure. But it wasn't too surprising, webs and feathers didn't mix. Any student could have told you that but sadly it wasn't until then any had shown up to wrangle in the mess!

Skittering on nimble legs she left her work, giving up on the lost cause as another feathery nuisance flapped its wings in irritation outside the window before leaving for another, less 'decorated' one. Probably a smart choice on the birds account.

The scream was a surprise, although probably not uncalled for with the cut Kitty made atop her spot, perching calmly as she was on the window sill it was still most likely jarring for someone not used to a tame giant spider. Unluckily for the Ravenclaw, said spider was a fan of jumping person to person and used to Gryffindors who cooed and spoiled her rotten. Screaming wasn't enough to deter her.

Lifting her two front legs up she made her intentions clear, or that would have been the case for anyone who knew Kitty. She was was getting ready to jump for her new perch, the girls shoulders but was stopped short. Skittering back down on all legs and chittering noiselessly as the girl scrambled away from easy jumping range.

But oh. Confusion could quickly turned to alarm as the Ravenclaw drew her stick sending the spider into a tizzy. Hopping off she ran towards the girl, dashing past, almost brushing her toes as the girl seemed to panic and scramble to say something but no sooner had she got past the girls feet than she was able to scramble towards Elsian. The Gryffindor appearing in a rush of black robes and messy hair; he said something, words rushed and jumbled as she crawled on his feet and up his side to dangle on his arm.

~~𓋒~~

It didn't matter how many times he'd heard screaming in this school, he’d never get used to it. It startled him, made something in his chest clench uncomfortably and his pulse skip. Hearing a scream like that echo so close? It had him dropping the things slowing him down, his sluggish pace turning into him scrambling up the steps two at a time as he burst up the final step in a swirl of black robes and Gryffindor red.

Suffice to say, it wasn't a pleasant sight.

Maybe if they'd had both sides straight he would have seen beyond the brunettes wand pointed at his pet, the spell on the tip of the girls lips and the newly messy webs clinging to the window sill. Maybe, he’d seen the panic instead. The rushed movements and just how close Kitty skimmed past her to cause the scare in the first place but as it was all he saw was some student he didn't know aiming a spell meant to hit.

There was no hesitation. He hadn't had a chance to even think before his hand was going for his robes, and a spell was spilling from his lips.

Whipping out his wand from his pocket Elsian pointed at the Ravenclaw, “Expelliarmus!

It hit true, the girls wand flying from her grip and it wasn't even a second after he’d realized what he’d just done before he had a handful of clingy spider climbing him like a tree, tugging at his robes and hanging from his arm not holding his wand but she was somehow...less than she normally was and that was enough to have him dropping his arm back down and looking away from the girl to hold Kitty the way she wanted.

Are you alright?” he mumbled, stroking a finger down her back as she clinged to his front even as one whole arm held her up, “nothing hit you right?

Kitty hadn't been so much as poked though, perfectly fine and Elsi realized this with no small amount of relief quickly when she began to tug and fiddle with his scarf. So it was just a bit of a startle... But not enough to keep her down for even five minutes. Oh boy-

But with relief quickly came the annoyed and slightly upset realization she could have been hurt had he arrived a second later and it had him turning a rather cold look to the brunette. “What the bloody hell was that?” he hissed, “throwing a spell like that in the owlery of all places! If I had come a second later-

He didn't want to think about that and he cut himself off, glaring at the floor in favor of saying something else rude as he pet Kitty. He had to fight down the anger in his voice, Kitty knew when he was upset but he couldn't help the little scowl that lingered.

You're lucky you didn't hurt her.

Her interacting with the shadow spiders had created her extreme fear of spiders. There is nobody in the world who wouldn't fear, hate or at least dislike spiders if they would have gone trough the same thing as Samantha. The young girl remembered that during the attack other students had used variations of lumos, which had made the spiders disappear. The smartest thing to do was check if she was dealing with one of those shadow spiders, and if that was the case she would have to warn an adult. "Lumos," she said, expecting to see the spider disappear as soon as the light hit it. To her surprise and relieve that wasn't what happend, it was just a normal spider.

She was about to leave it alone when the horrifying creature made its way towards her. It was out for blood! Samantha was sure of it, you only had to look at those legs, it's eyes and its evil looks. There was no mistake, it wanted to attack her. Samantha was horrified of the legs, that moved the spider closer to her. Every time one of the black legs touched the ground the creature came closer to her. She could feel her heartbeat accelerating, her hands become sweaty and her legs shaking.

Samantha believed that she had to protect herself from the bloodthirsty animal or she would not live to see tomorrow. "Flipendo!" The young girl yelled as she pointed her wand at the spider, which was only a few feet away from her. To her horror the spell missed the fast moving target. She was just about to cast a new spell when she felt her wand flying out of her hand.

In her panic she hadn't heard the footsteps that announced the arrival of an other student nor had she heard the spell he casted. The terror on her face grew when she realized she had no way to protect herself anymore and she had lost sight of the terrifying creature. Her breathing became even more irregular as she frantically looked around for her wand or a sign of the spider.

Her eyes stopped as they met a boy. She let out a sight of relieve, there was somebody who could help her! The brunette hadn't realized that her wand had flew out of her hand, because the boy had disarmed her. She hadn't even thought about how her wand had flew out of her hand as she had been to terrified of the spider. She looked at her hero with big eyes, she had never been so happy to see a stranger. But instead of a warm look, the boy gave her a cold look and outed his annoyance.

Samantha was on the edge of crying, she needed her wand back, she needed to protect herself, he needed to understand what had happend. "Please, give me my wand! We are being attacked! I NEED MY WAND, please understand!" She talked rapidly and was barely able to breath. She didn't have all the time in the world to explain, the spider was probably already on its way to get backup to kill her. She quickly turned away from the boy and searched the owlery for her wand and the spider.

She had only looked at the boy for a less then a second, which explained why she hadn't seen that he was holding the spider. Sam only turned around when the boy said something about hurting her. "Hurting who?" the young girl asked devastated. She didn't understand him, what did he mean? It was then when she saw the spider on the boy. "IT IS ON YOU! THE SPIDER! ON YOUR SCARF!" She screamed at the top of her lungs. Her panic was clear for anybody with working eyes, and even those who couldn't see who have heard the terror in her voice.

The high pitched scream Samantha had let out when she spotted the spider the first time had scared Amenadiel, who had started to screech loudly. The little owl had quickly flew away from his owner after her scream. Samantha had never screamed in from of her pet before, so it made sense that he would be scared. He landed a few meters away from his owner, when she drew her wand and started to yell at something.

Amenadiel watched as a boy entered and his owner talked to him. Her voice sounded weird, it was louder then normal and the love and softness in her voice was missing. Samantha had forgotten about her owl and she didn't give him any attention anymore.

This girl was crazy! Absolutely and completely mad!

Going from sending Kitty and what looked like her own owl in a tizzy, casting spells all over the place to acting like she’d just seen a friend come up to back her up. It was crazy. She was crazy! And it had him wincing in confusion, face pinched between annoyed and slightly worried; if not for her feelings then maybe for the girl's sanity at the very least...

This wasn't a normal reaction to a pet spider, dislike or not, something was obviously wrong and he was possibly one of the worst people to deal with it. Bloody hell, she looked about ready to burst into tears and all he could muster up was a halfhearted worry for her health.

I don't think so!” He scoffed, utter disbelief coloring his tone, “after you threw spells around like that? As if!

No ones attacking anything! Except maybe for you if any of your spells hit an owl.

Or Kitty went unsaid by him but he didn't bother. Something told him there was no point. Not with the hysteria in her tone and the stiff panic lacing her body; it made him uncomfortable. So when she turned away from him, rambling away about her wand and how he had to understand? Elsian found himself stepping forward to find that stupid wand but not to help, not quite, the reality was he didn't want that wand anywhere near the panicked Ravenclaw right now.

I’m not so sure that's a good idea," he said slowly, eyeing the others back, “there’s nothing here.” Maybe. Unless there was and they were gonna die because he was just blind. But he’d seen a girl set herself on fire because of casting panic so where chances must be taken...

Cradling Kitty closer he scanned the floor around them, twisting on his heel to eye where he thought he saw the thin wand fly from her grip. He stepped closer; there was nothing. Feathers and dirt and grime but no wand. Another step, and another, practically close enough to touch the other girl's back; he looked again, this time able to peer around her and there!

A wand. Lying innocently to the left of them, shadowed in the horrid lighting. He didn't say a word, throwing a look at the girls turned back and moving towards the others wand but he’d hardly taken two steps past her side before she was whirling around to face him.

Confused. Devastated. And then pure terror. Any snarky reply he could have had was cut off by her screams.

Hurting who indeed.

That spider is my pet!” He hissed angrily over her scream for all the good it did, he might have well just raised his voice in comparison! His throat hurt just listening to her.

What were you supposed to do in a situation like this anyways? Keep calm and talk it out? Because calm had fled like a bat outta hell and taken a nosedive off a cliff at this point and only crazy was left! No, fear had its own damn rules, fight or flight. And it was pretty damn clear which of the two was winning if that flipendo was anything to go by!

Elsian looked away. Right at the girl's wand.

He wasn't taking any chances on this girl calming down in the next 10 seconds. Mind made up he pocketed his wand putting Kitty down to crawl behind him before he moved, making a quick break for the wand at their left before the other could. His knee hit the ground hard as he went on one knee, snatching up the wand in his right tightly.

She wasn't getting her wand back until she calmed down.

He wouldn't give her her wand back? Why? She needed it! This boy was useless, she needed her wand, not his stupid opinion. Panicked and scared, she scanned the floor hoping to find her wand. Her tears blocked her view and she couldn't find her wand.

How could he say that? "THERE IS! TRUST ME THERE IS SOMETHING HERE! Why don't you listen?" She had hoped he could help her, but all he did was make everything worse. Samantha had to find her wand alone, the boy wouldn't give her any help.

The panic she felt made it impossible for her to think clearly, and the tears, which were forming in her eyes, made it almost impossible for her to see. The boy, who been standing closer then she initially thought, hissed something about the spider being his pet. Her mind couldn't put it together, a spider, a pet? Confusion was now added in the mix of strong emotions the young girl felt. She wasn't able to get her head around it, the sentence didn't make any sense. She heard what he said, but she didn't understand it.

After thinking about it for a few seconds she stopped, it wasn't important enough to her. The spider was more important, her wand was more important, not what the boy said. She followed the glance of the boy and saw her wand. HER WAND! She gasped. If she would have her wand back she would be able to protect herself from the spiders.

Her wand was within her reach, she could have easily grabbed it, if the boy hadn't put down his spider. Samantha's attention shifted to the dangerous animal right when it touched the ground. The spider now had the free range, it could attack her within seconds, she had to move.

She didn't care about the wand anymore, she needed to get away from that evil thing. She didn't think straight and ran away from the spider, the boy and the stairs, making it impossible for her to go anywhere but the wall and the windows. Once she reached the wall she turned around, so her back was turned to the wall.

She couldn't do anything. Her wand was taken from her. She couldn't run anywhere anymore. She was trapped. Her blue eyes were filled with tears, which made their way down her cheeks after they left her eyes. She breathed irregular, it was impossible for her to control her breathing.

What was the boy going to do? He was holding her wand, she now saw. Was he going to give it to her? Was he going to attack her with it? Did he work with the spider? Was he evil as well? Her expression changed from horrified to shocked. "THE SPIDER IS YOUR PET?" She had just realized what the boy had said. While talking and aggressively pointing her finger at the boy, her expression changed back to horrified. She covered her mouth with her hands, was he going to hurt her because she tried to hurt his pet?

"Please don't hurt me! Please keep the spider away from me, I promise I won't hurt it ever again, but please keep it away from me." She had no idea if the boy would let her go, maybe he was crazy. After all he had a spider, and only crazy people would have a spider. Maybe he was just like Salazar Slytherin, maybe he wanted to kill all muggle born children, but he had a spider instead of a snake.

If she hadn't been horrified she would have realized what she was thinking didn't make any sense, but now she was convinced that she was right. "Please don't kill me, I am pureblood!" She lied, trying to save her life (or that was what she thought she did).

No, I just let random spiders hang off my arms- Of course she’s my pet!” He took a step forward, irritated as he waved a hand at the spider, “what do you think I-” He couldn't even finish what he was going to say before he was cut off again, though this time he was less angry than he was flat out startled by what she was implying.

Stupefied, shocked, he suddenly felt rather frozen in the face of it all. If only she’d not said that last sentence at all he might’ve felt more sorry for her.

The words immediately had him wanting to lash out. To yell. To get her to shut up. Maybe even shake some sense into her despite the tears dripping down the girl's face. Even as she practically shook with fear and seemed to shrink in on herself, he wanted to make her take it back. She probably didn't even know what she was really saying though, not right now at least.

I’m not-” He hesitated, stomach twisting with nerves. “I wouldn’t...

Something like bitterness tugged at his chest, acidic and rotten stuck in the back of his throat. It was unpleasant, curled around his words and waiting, as if it’d taint the words and twist them into something else no matter what he said. He was upset sure, and annoyed, maybe a bit angry but he would never try to hurt her for something like this! Let alone kill her! And yet, he had wanted to- well, not hurt her, not that, never anything like what she was thinking but...the intention had been there. Brief as it was. And wasn't that just as bad?

His jaw remained locked tight, grinding until it ached.

She looked terrified.

This was-

Well, this was bad, wasn't it? Something had to give here. Quickly. At this rate the thing that was gonna give was the Ravenclaws last dwindling scrap of sanity with maybe a panic attack to go with the looming breakdown. Kitty was the problem here wasn’t she? Not intentionally but she was obviously the biggest trigger here so he just...he had to get Kitty away from here. Before anything got better, she had to be outta the other girl's sight. Swallowing hard, he pocketed the others wand and stepped away. Elsian had barely crouched long enough to gather the frazzled spider into his arms, tightly, tight enough so she couldn't jump away before quickly whisking away to the staircase in a flurry of robes without so much as a glance at the panicked student.

Out of sight, out of mind. He hoped.

All the third-year could do was focus on his steps and the dirty ground. The dull scuffle of his shoes, the light rustle of his robe as the edges curled around his legs, Kittys light squirming in his arms; his entire body felt just a breath too tight. It got better the further he got away though, and by the time he’d made it to the final step the anger that had been sizzling just under his skin felt duller, more manageable even as he went to gather his dropped things from the floor, releasing Kitty from his grip to wander to his bag and the colorful pens laying on the ground near it. The most interesting thing on this floor to her probably.

He didn't have to go back. By all rights she got what she deserved by throwing spells at other people's pets! Besides, the girl should be fine on her own now that kitty was gone and, and he was just lying to himself. But he didn't know what to do, she thought he was going to attack her! No, he should get someone else, maybe a professor? A prefect? Bloody hell, another random student would be better than him at this point! But that’d take too long. Would she even be here by the time he got back? Or would he be leaving her alone in a stupid tower freaking out for an hour while trying to find someone outside of class hours? He didn't have to go back but he should.

...He really didn't want to go back upstairs.

But he had her wand.

Breathing out harshly Elsian pet Kitty, pursing his lips as he gathered the little willpower he had to go deal with the birdbrain upstairs. Although at this point, he was sure it was just his little remaining conscious guilt tripping him into making sure the girl's brain doesn't melt out of her ears with the tiff she's been throwing. Plus, he has her wand. Ugh. That’d be a bitch to explain, and it'd probably be bad if he just left it on the ground for her to look…

Groaning, the Gryffindor stood up, grumbling and slouching as he shrugged off his robe to appease the spider while he was gone, less she wandered because his bag was hard and uncomfy. Although he let himself have a brief but no less fulfilling pity party for his troubles. The girl's wand was left behind alongside his own, tucked safely in his bag alongside his own because this didn't mean he trusted the girl a wink, and magic had only been making this worse so-

No wands.

No magic.

Trudging up the stairs the only thing in his head was a gnawing worry, no doubt at least partially fueled by pity for the other. But it was probably for nothing. At the very least it should be slightly better since there were no spiders to scare her now.

The boy hesitated and started talking, but he didn't finish his sentence. Why did he stop talking? What was happening? She had no idea what to do, so she just waited to see what the boy was going to do. With her panic and fear came surprise when the boy picked up his pet spider and walked away.

Samantha was confused, even more then before. What was the boy going to do? Would he come back? She didn't move until she was certain that the boy was gone. When she did move she sat down on the floor and started crying. She had been really scared. All she could do now was cry, which she did, curled up in a little ball on the dirty ground of the owlery.

Apparently her little owl had heard her, as Amenadiel came flying to his owner. Maybe he had come out now that the boy was gone or he knew that his owner was upset. Whatever the reason was, if there even was one, Samantha was really happy when she felt the weight of her little owl on her hand.

She stroke the brown owl, who still had the letter attached to his leg. The young girl was still scared, but she felt saver now that she had her owl with her. Not that her owl could help her if the spider would come back again, but still. Once she had calmed down a little, just a little she was still very scared, she went over everything that had happened ago.

First she had been focused on tying the little letter to her owl, but later she had been stressed because something was wrong with Amenadiel. Then she was the spider, and everything went wrong, the stupid boy came in and her wand flew out of her hand. Her wand? The boy still had her wand. She felt panic coming up again, she needed her wand back, but were was the boy?

She got up and looked around her, maybe the boy had left her wand? She couldn't find it and feeling defeated she sat down again. After a deep breath she tried to think of what to do next, how was she going to get her wand back? She needed her wand back! Her wand had become a part of her, she couldn't live without it.

Her thought flashed back to everything that had happend. How she had warned the boy for the spider, but he didn't believe her. How she yelled at him to tell him that the horrifying creature was on his scarf, but he had brushed it off, telling her it was his pet, HIS PET! And then, then she had told him she was pureblood? Why had she done that?! As Sam had calmed down a little more she realized how stupid she had been before the boy left.

She got up again, still having her pet on her hand. After giving Amenadiel one last stroke on his back she send him away through the window, so he could deliver the letter to her parents. Her heart was still racing and her legs still shaking, when she leaned on the window.

She started crying again, now she cried softly, the only sign that she was crying were her shaking shoulders. Confusing, horror, embarrassment and pain, her feelings were mixed together. Why did this have to happen? Why did she had to see that spider? Why did it have to attack her? WHY?

The brunette heard footsteps approaching, but she did not know who it was. A part of her hoped it was the boy, so she could get her wand back. But the larger part of her hoped to never see the boy again. She needed her wand back, but she didn't want to face the boy who had a pet spider and who she told not to kill her. Of course, had couldn't decided to whom the footsteps belonged, but she could hope.

She tried to calm down her voice before she talked, but you could still clearly hear the panic in her voice. "Hello? Who is that?" She asked, she needed to know it before whoever was coming reached the top of the stairs, that way she could decided if she had to run, hide or act like nothing was happening.

He paused at the words. The lingering panic in her voice made him hesitate and linger on the step for a second longer that was likely reassuring. But he could hardly help it. Who was to say she wouldn't start screaming the moment she saw him? The only reassurance was she didn't have her wand.

Are you going to start screaming again?” He asked flatly, “I’d rather you not.

He wasn't sure how much more of that his ears could take.

Walking up the final steps he didn't really give her much time to respond but he thought the fact that he didn't have Kitty around would at least stop her from going into hysterics again. If she did he wouldn't stick around. An adult or prefect could deal with her if she acted like a loony who needed to be in the hospital wing, not him.

The Gryffindor was still rather upset about this whole thing after all, a bit annoyed, maybe even angry, but seeing the state of the girl with her tear stained face and choked up tone did dampen it a bit. Even if Elsian was still anything other than pleased with the girl for almost hurting his pet, to say he was unaffected? Well that would be a filthy lie and he found himself quickly biting his tongue to keep spiteful words at bay. But it was impossible to pretend he was anything close to happy either and while not cruel his tone was just as obviously cold and flat as ever.

Letting go of the rail he stepped away from the stairs he said, “I left Kitty downstairs,” he paused before rephrasing, tone souring slightly, “the spider I mean.

There wasn’t much to say back, more a statement for the girl to know than anything else anyways. Likely to see if it made any real difference. “Hopefully that makes you feel less trigger happy.

It didn't matter either way though. She didn't have her wand at any rate, and no second year was gonna go around casting without one.

Not like it matters. You can't actually go and panic cast anything right now anyways.

Maybe she had asked it too late, or the boy had replied too slow. Whatever the reason was, she did not have enough time to run away before the boy reached the top of the stairs. Only a couple of seconds before the boy had reached the top of the stairs his voice had reached Samantha, who had hoped not to see him again.

A sassy response did not come on the boy's remark about her screaming, because the brunette was still far from her normal self. Spiders were not her thing, they were way too creepy and evil with their eight scary legs. Even though she wasn't completely herself, her brain worked well enough now to understand that she had made a fool of herself in front of the boy.

If she had just yelled about the spider it would all be fine, it would have been less embarrassing. But for some reason, she had to assume that the boy was going to kill her and lie about her being a pureblood. She has always been proud of the fact that she was muggle-born, so why did she have to lie?

Her cheeks turned red from embarrassment as soon as she saw the boy. Samantha hoped the boy didn't remember what she had said earlier about being pureblood and all but she knew that that chance was very slim. "Kitty?" she looked confused at the boy, who clarified who he meant after a little pause.

He had left the spider downstairs, that was nice? Samantha didn't know how to respond. It was thoughtful of the boy to get that horrifying creature away from her, but he still was the owner of the bloodthirsty animal. Did she have to thank the boy? No, that didn't feel right. After all, it had been the boy's spider that had caused all this trouble.

She wiped her tears out of her eyes, she didn't want the boy to see her tears. Even for somebody who had never met her before, it was clear that she had cried a couple of seconds ago. Her eyes were redder than usual and also slightly swollen due to the crying.

The boy reminded her of the fact that she was wandless with his remark. She straightened her back, as she took a few steps forwards away from the window towards the boy. She wanted to look more confident or the boy would never give her her wand back. "I need my wand back," she didn't ask it, she demanded her wand back. Her voice didn't sound shaky, but her hands were. As soon as she noticed her shaky hands, she hid them behind her back.

"My wand belongs to me, and you have no right to take it," she said more confidently than she felt. She felt powerless without her wand but tried her best not to show it. "I promise I won't panic again." It seemed like that was one of the things the boy was worried about. She was very annoyed. Why did she, the rightful owner of the wand, promise a random boy, who had the audacity to disarm her, that she wasn't going to panic just to get her wand back.

She had no idea if the boy would listen to her. After all, it wasn't like she looked intimidating. She was just a 12-year-old girl, who was just a little over 1.40, with red eyes from crying. The boy had seen her freak out over a spider, heard her beg for her life, and scream about his pet. There was no reason for him to take her seriously.
