The Ravenclaw team seemed to struggle this round. Pericles attempted to hit Katrina with a large gust of wind, the spell left his wand but the girl easily dodged it. Unfortunately she was able to dodge Thomas' bought of tickling coming her way. Those two spells were good to miss, especially the gut wrenching pain of laughing so hard.

Katrina had more luck getting some revenge at Thomas, but it still wasn't quite as successful. Thomas saw the jet of flames coming at him and attempted to dodge, but the bottom of his pants caught aflame, quickly starting to spread. It wouldn't last for long though. Adeline was left to extinguish herself, hands taking a little bit of damage as she patted out the flames completely.

Spectator Thread

Missed, Tom had said. "It's alright," Peri passed the words to the side, though his face remained forward, ever alert. "You make up for it by being fast on your feet-" A mistake, saying something like that when there was no wood to knock on. An Incendio had hit his teammate, though at least it only clipped him, and it seemed the blaze was not so bad. Another go at Ventus, but this round, it did not play out as intended. Katrina dodged it, as well as the Tickling Charm that had been intended for her. Peri's lips pressed into a line and quirked to the side. A moment's disappointment, albeit not enough to slow nor sway him. Now wasn't the time to be over-confident from his previous plays.

Thomas groaned as his spell went wide, this was starting to get aggravating! Just how nimble were these Gryffindors, for crying out loud!? The boy had half a mind to glue one of those nerf sniper scopes to his wand, maybe that'd ensure that he actually hit where he aimed. "Are you kidding me..."

Looking over to Pericles, he offered the boy a grin. It was true! Thomas was nimble, it was a trait he was hardly ashamed of. His dodging skills were something he had worked hard to develop, and it was nice to see that other people recognized it! After all, really, what was the point of trying to improve if other people didn't care...? To Thomas, nothing at all! Perhaps he ought to work on that. Regardless, the boy was so caught up in thinking about how awesome he was, he nearly missed the spell coming his way, and as a result, got clipped by the spell Katrina cast at him. "AH- hothothothothothothothothothothothothothothothot..."

He glared at his opponents, if looks could kill his would be near-fatal, but the fact that he was 5'1" likely softened the blow. "You'll rue the day you crossed me..." Was Thomas being dramatic or fully serious? Who knew. The Ravenclaw was weird.

As Addie watched her opponents prepare to fire off spells, she attempted to clear her mind and focus on dodging any attacks that were fired her way. For a moment, the pain seemed to fade, and she felt a small amount of clarity return to her mind, but as the flames continued to flicker across her shoulder, Adeline had to do something to stop the burning.

Slipping her wand into her sleeve for a moment, Addie furiously stamped out the fire with her hands. The heat scorched her skin, making her hesitate before continuing to put out the flames. Now, her shoulder was no longer ablaze, though wisps of smoke still curled off of her charred robes.

Adeline pulled her wand back out of her sleeve, the skin on her hands slightly burned, but she pushed through.

“Is that it?” she asked the boy who had caused her this pain, putting on her bravest face.

Thankfully, the target of their opponents spells returned to Katrina. As much as she hid it, she felt a bit bad for Adeline taking the hit for the last fire spell. She seemed to have recovered well but being on fire was never please tell.

Katrina somehow managed to dodge the two spells of her opponents and regain her stability. She retaliated with another fire spell, her small revenge sweet as fire licked up the robes of her opponent. The evening of the scales went by perfectly.

This might become a very long duel.

During this round things seemed to favour Pericles and Thomas, while Adeline and Katrina seemed to be struggling a little bit.

While both Pericles and Thomas had set their eyes on Adeline, only Thomas' spell successfully hit the poor Gryffindor girl: Pericles' Incendio duo was easily dodged by Adeline, but she could do nothing about Thomas' powerful flames. The moment that the spell was cast, Lydia could already tell that if Adeline were to be hit, the fire would have hurt a lot: the flames were quite big, and hit the Gryffindor girl right on her arm, the fire spreading fast over her robes, and dealing quite some damage.

However, Adeline didn't give up, and aimed her wand towards Thomas; her Knockback jinx barely missed the target, and Thomas was left unharmed from the exchange. Katrina, on the other hand, seemed to be readjusting to having her wand in her hand, and just observed the events unfold in front of her. It definitely wasn't a nice sight to see your team mate's robes on fire, and Lydia could just imagine the pain that those flames must have brought on the poor Adeline.

Spectator Thread

Katrina got too caught in the moment to everything going on to react to much. Both opponents shot more spells at Adeline and Katrina held back a shout. She wanted to warn her about the incoming threat but didn’t want to distract her. It was better to stay quiet and plan her next move, or DO something, anything really.

The second fire spell hit Adeline pretty hard, the large flame licking up her robes. “Hang in there,” Katrina spoke in what she hoped was a reassuring voice. This wasn’t looking so good. Katrina’s stomach tied itself into a guilty knot, being on fire was not fun.

"FINALLY!" Thomas exclaimed. Perhaps it was his irritation that produced such a powerful spell—the Ravenclaw certainly wouldn’t be complaining any time soon. The boy allowed the flames on his own robes to die without intervention, feeling the burn but carefully avoiding irritating it further with any sort of celebration aside from his exclamation.

"I mean, um, just as planned…" Thomas trailed off, grinning sheepishly. He was proud of himself, but he’d refrain from seeming too proud—it might give off the impression that this outcome was anything other than expectation. Heaven forbid, of course, that others get the idea that his good luck was just that and not a manifestation of skill.

Before Pericles could so much as don a frown at his own miss, a second, far larger ball of fire barreled across the way, eliciting arched eyebrows and a quickly muttered "Crack shot!" to Tom. The young wizard politely restrained a grin as his ally assured them all that his potent cast was totally intentional. He managed to evade another cast aimed at him, too, though Katrina's stall was some cause for concern. What was the fourth-year cooking up...? Peri glanced between both opponents while contemplating his cast, steeling himself. This was looking like a long-lasting match.

Desperate to make contact with at least one of her spells, Addie slung a knockback jinx across the stage. Another pang of disappointment echoed through her chest as yet another attack entirely missed her target.

Though Adeline was beginning to feel a bit cursed, it seemed that one of her opponents was not suffering the same poor fortune that she was. A wall of fire much stronger than the one before rushed toward her, much too far along for her to do anything about it.

Addie could do nothing but brace herself for impact. For the second time this match, flames engulfed her, this time burning her arm and quickly spreading to the rest of her. Tears welled up in Addie’s eyes. Though every ounce of her willed not to cry, the pain was overwhelming, and a couple of tears rolled down her cheeks.

There were no snarky comments running through her mind; no witty remarks or cutting words for her opponents. Her brain was flooded with a sensation that she wasn’t accustomed to: panic.
