Litter pick-up or wait with @Alex Douglas
He watched as the girl went to try and save the bottle but wasn't able to. If he had been the one to do so, he might have been able to catch it before it fell due to his dhampir reflexes but he didn't want to startle her, and besides, she was the one trying to retrieve it and save it from plunging over the side.
"It probably wasn't heavy enough to break anything," he hoped anyway. Simon looked to the railing and leaned out a little. The Astronomy Tower looked over some of the grounds of the castle and it was already late. "We could try to head down to the grounds and try to collect it before curfew and see if any damage has been done." He did think about what he had heard though about dropping things off the Eiffel Tower and such. Was this as high? Not as high? Higher? He didn't know. He had never been to the Eiffel Tower to compare the two.
His first and only time outside of England had been to Hogwarts.
But it was quite dark and he wasn't entirely sure that they'd be able to find it. Maybe this was a job better left for the next day, after the sun had made its way into the sky and drowned out all the celestial objects they could see right now.

Alex sighed as she nodded before looking up at the sky. She tried to distract her mind from losing her water to the stars again. Thinking about what to say, she started to glance around the Astronomy Tower. Alex smiled softly to herself as she turned away from the night sky and sulked down to the floor. After sighing softly, she started to reach for her hair, messing with it. By the time she stopped spacing out, she realised she had taken out her braids.
"So, I guess we'll just go search for it during lunch or breakfast? The water bottle, I mean. It's getting late anyways... I should go to bed. I don't want to wake up late tomorrow. Thanks for the nice night. I enjoyed this," she said before getting up from her spot.
She went to grab her plate from the ground by Simon's bag, starting to head off to get to her dormitory. However, she knew she had to get to the kitchen first and she didn't want to get caught sneaking around. Sighing softly, she turned to look at Simon one last time, waving slightly. Then, Alex started to pick up her pace to get out of the Astronomy Tower and get to the kitchen quickly so she could head to bed.

Departing from @Alex Douglas
The redhead began to say her farewells. She wanted to get some sleep and it was nearing curfew, he needed to be going as well. "Nice to know that someone else knows some Star Stories," he said as he watched her gather up her plate from the ground near his bag. He went and picked up his bag, placing it over his shoulder. Back in London, none of his friends cared much for Astronomy and maybe that's because the city lights often drowned out the stars.?
"It was nice to meet you, too, Alex Douglas," he said, once again repeating her name. He'd probably remember well that she was in the Gryffindor house because he was fond of a particular other redhead lion at the school. "Let me know if you need anything if you see me around. Being a first year can get a little crazy." Crazy? It could be downright daunting depending on what was going on - throw in some moving staircases and visiting schools into the mix and you've got yourself a perfect recipe for turmoil. He certainly had felt it a time or two during his first year at Hogwarts.
Simon glanced at his watch, one of those super old ones that you wound every night to keep it going. It was nice because nothing about it caused interference with the magic and so he was still able to use it as a reliable timepiece. It was still within the time before curfew and he was glad to see that so his new friend wouldn't have to worry about being stopped in the corridors. He then headed off to his own Common Room.
