I'm Studying, sir! private

A time to know, to love, to be impressed by. Truly this'd be amazing, but yet so immersing.

He walked into the Small Hall, seeing a girl work on something... a poem? Homework? Well, whatever it was, it was quiet in the Small Hall, and the clock was chiming.

He would walk up to yet ANOTHER Gryffindor; they were kinda getting on his nerves, but surely this gryffindor wasn't horrible at least, or at the majority.

Maybe Cody was a little mean, sure, he'll admit to that, but he refuses to admit the coolest thing about where the girl was sitting, the chocolate frog card.

Cody had hundreds, but no gold and silver cards. Well, surely today wasn't all about Chocolate Frog Cards.

"Hey... who ARE you?" Cody asked, his voice far too sweet and innocent to be believed, but surely those not listening to him, wouldn't have noticed his tone.

"What ARE YOU WORKING ON?" Well, his faux british accent kicked in, ignoring his american accent he had when he grew up in Massachusetts.

Well, his talking wasn't the only reason why he was here, and he came just to practice Flipendo for his homework, with studying the goblin and witch history thingy they learned about that day in History of Magic.

She was intensely working and writing, when all of a sudden A rather short, most likely first year walked up to her.

"Hey... who ARE you?" He hissed at her. She turned around, and breathed in a sharp breath. Her tips turned a bright pink.

"Um... c-can I help you?" She squeaked. He stared at her for a second.

"What ARE YOU WORKING ON?" He barked. She looked at him, concerned and confused.

"Um... I'm working on m-my chocolate card project-t..." Liz stuttered. She didn't know why this small human approached her, but she was.. almost worried. Why was he here? What did he want? She didn't know, she didn't care. "See?" She held out her special card. "I-it isn't mine. I borrowed it from my dad's stash..." She looked down, setting it back onto the table. "Um... I'm Eliza..." She stuck her hand out. Be brave... She sighed.

"Y-you can sit down... I-I mean, if you're like..." She blushed. "Sorry... I don't like talking to people very often... either that or I talk too much..." She didn't know him, maybe she saw him once. Whatever. She didn't need some little kid to ruin her work. But... she did like the company... even if it was hard to admit.

Well, upon closer inspection of the girl, well, the Gryffindor, he seemed to see how nervous and terrified she was. Well, maybe thats what Cody always wanted, but he couldn't stand to watch that emerge.

"You are working... on a chocolate frog assignment? Don't you only get Chocolate Frogs from Hogsmeade? How would you've gone there? Is this something I should notify a prefect or professor for? Ok, ok, i'm just kidding. I have one hundred and seventy eight chocolate frog cards as of this moment. One of the Granger card too! So, do you want any help with it? I can help... if you want."

He wanted to scoff at her saying that she talks too much. He'd heard very little from her. If she wanted to believe that, she can, but Cody wasn't saying anything. He believed that Eliza had her own way of amazingness, she just needed help with it. Alright, well, he did also come with work, that was true, but it was nothing fun as of Chocolate Frogs.

"Alright. I can help you with your Chocolate Frog assignment... if you'll teach me how to write an essay. That was something I never truly learned how to do, since Freddy, my twin, took that away from me."

"The GRANGER card? No way! I love her work! She was so inspiring!" She smiled, putting her hand on the seat. "I have a few Dumbledores, some... musician cards, not too many. She looked up at the boy again.

"I'm sorry, but what's your name? I can't remember if I asked..." She stroked her fingers through her hair, looking down at the old table. She smiled, looking back at him. "It makes me happy knowing there are people who have things in common with me..." She hadn't really talked to anyone in the past few weeks. She was so tired and stressed out by all her work. But now she had to relax.

To wind down. It was what she needed. No work, no studying, no reading- well, maybe a little. The world just wasn't the same without reading, Liz believed that through and through. But that's not what made people who they are.

"Again, thank you." She rubbed her hands together. "Artemesia Lufkin. Ever heard of her?" She looked at him, taking the card out to show the witch again. "First witch to become Minister for Magic. Pretty interesting, huh? I think she sounded inspiring! In a different, fun, unique way!"

The boy's eyes popped. Well, not really. "OF COURSE I have the GRANGER Card! She's awesome!" Cody said, then muttering under his breath, "Better than some people here."

"Ag cquen. O'b kuti su geti i dalckibuqui cequb. Tges'b ci eleyomf." The Part Goblin spoke in his heritage's words, forgetting to keep it in the english everyone at Hogwarts seemed to commune in.

He looked at Eliza, shook his head, then repeated what he said, in English. "Ah crap. I'd love to have a Dumbledore Card. That'd be amazing."

"I'm Cody. Cody Stevenson." He said, responding to the question as of his name. "And you are?"

He would look as if he was happy when Eliza revealed her name.

"You mean, THE Artemisia Lufkin? The first Minister of Magic, that was a female, to ever hold office, been elected twice, and has been in office from 1798 to 1811? OF COURSE I DO! I mean, she's not my favorite, but she's someone I can stand. My favorite person if I had to research someone from my Chocolate Frog cards, would have to be Wendelin the Weird. For some reason, she loved the feeling of being burned at stake, so she kept coming up with different disguises and was burned nine times! Anyways, about Lufkin, of course I do! I have one of her cards, read up on her, and found how weird she was."

"Is that- Goblin?! I love that language! It's so mysterious! I've been meaning to learn it for a while, after I read a book about a pair of goblins. Never met one, though. My mom and dad have at Gringotts."[/color] She smiled, remembering the tale of Agren and Olga, her favorite book as a child.

"It's Elizabeth Corrids- But you can call me Eliza. Or- Liz. I dunno- call me whatever." She smiled, setting her hands in her lap.

Artemesia WAS pretty cool! Liz really liked her. She had a poster on her wall of Lufkin, with the caption "The Official Woman of Magic". She had collected it at Diagon Alley a few years back, when her mother bought new robes. She watched him as he told her about Wendelin.

"I do believe I have a few of those! They're some of my favorite. But then again, burning hazard!"She chuckled. "I do believe my favorite of mine is...Mirabella Plunket. I have a couple of hers. The stories behind each of them are really interesting. Did you know Mirabella was in love with a merman? Norvel Twonks is also incredible! He saved a... muggle child from a Manticore! That's what started my love of cards."

[font=century gothic]"Yeah. I speak gobbledegook. We prefer to call it Gobbledegook. I can teach you a few words in it, but I won't teach you all of it. I don't have time." Cody said, his face brightening up. "You- read a book on goblins? There's one on us? My dad was always telling me how wizards were always so self-centered, always holding up a book called Magical Me. I read it, and Gilderoy seems to be a real jerk, or credit hog. I believe he also taught Defense Against the Dark Arts one year."

"Ok, shouldn't we get to writing your essay on Lufkin? As much as Mirabella sounds really interesting with a merman and a guy named Twonks. But, I think you'd do great with writing about Lufkin, if she is, as you say, truly on your wall as a poster, then you got this. Just answer some questions, and maybe they'll assist you on your essay. Or maybe, try something new. Write it in a narrative perspective, as if she was someone you were interviewing at the moment. Take a moment and imagine yourself writing a newspaper. I want you to think about answering some of the following questions, then explain your answer."

Cody took a quill and the margin of the parchment, wrote down three questions. Are you a person who views the glass "half-empty" or "half full?" Why is that? How has that affected your life and experiences?[/font]

"Gobbledegook... hmm! I didn't know it was called that! Gilderoy was a pretty nasty guy. He stole what other people wrote! I really think he's a shallow guy. I've always read books about other- well, species. Or you could say, bloods if that's better. As in Half blood, Pure blood, mud blood as some selfish individuals would say. I think it's rather rude, honestly. Selfish, unfair, unkind." She stopped and looked down at the paper.
She read a few lines down. "... How about this. Artemesia Lufkin. A Hufflepuff student in her early years at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, was known as the first ever woman to hold office as minister of magic from 1798 to 1811. She was elected at least twice. As Minister for Magic, she established the Department of International Magical Co-operation and lobbied hard and successfully to have a Quidditch World Cup tournament held in Britain during her term.She served as Minister for thirteen years, being succeeded in the post by Grogan Stump in 1811." She read it in a loud, and equally calm "presenters" voice. She looked up at him and smiled. "How was that? Do you think I repeated anything too much? Is there anything I can add?"

[font=century gothic]Whoaaaa the girl was learning about it? The information about the different breeds and species it seemed. That was cool. But now, he was listening to the girl's few lines.

"Like I said, I don't know how to write an actual essay, but that sounds pretty much accurate. Nothing repeative in my opinion. Your professor might expect more than those few lines of course. Uh- does this library have any actual books on former Minster of Magics? I would think so, but if not, I just want to go into the Resticted Section and see what that's all about, but nevertheless, I will deal with it. Um, hmmm. Have you thought about maybe writing really tiny with utter tiny filler words? I don't think the teachers will figure out what you said, and assume you did your research on all of this... perhaps. A free Outstanding for you!"

Maybe that was a bad idea... that was a Cody thing after all. Of course, he wanted to go into the library and grab some books on a muggle author named Edgar Allen Poe. This was one of Cody's many favorite authors, the two in horror genre, Cody loved Edgar Allen Poe and Robert Lawrence Stein. Cody also had a book report due soon, not that any professors assigned it to Cody, but to retain his American no-maj schooling, he assigned him a biyearly book report.

Cody snapped back into attention. "Yes, Eliza, thats so true. But, I think she needs a uh- few flourishing details, but I can't think of any off the top of my mind."[/font]
