DATE: November 23rd, 2021 | TIME: 5:00 pm / 17:00
A fiery mix of reds, oranges, and yellows bled through the large panes of glass that decorated the Rehearsal room. Through the paned windows, the sun shot strings of golden light into the antique-looking space. It was a cozy light that made an effort to welcome anybody into the place. The rounded walls turned any room occupants towards the hanging crystal chandelier, which only made the droplets of glass appear as bits of amber melting from the ceiling as the glowing radiance from the sun outside entered the prisms. Heavy oak doors stood tall as the entrance, like an opposing guard standing vigil. It gave the sense of immense privacy for any of those who might want solace away from the craziness of the rest of Hogwarts.
However, the room's space now held a small table with an assortment of candies and a large water pitcher. A guitar sat neatly next to the table, along with a menagerie of stage magic props. Tuesday was never good at setting for events, but he always figured that children went for sweets. Hopefully, his assumption wouldn't steer him wrong. Group five seemingly were all very stage-centric, save one, which Tuesday didn't exactly understand. So how exactly was 'Anatomy' a talent? He figured he would soon find out, but it did frighten him a tad bit.
Standing at the entrance of the rehearsal room, the Herbology professor stood tall with a pleasant smile across his face. The man waited patiently for the young talents to join him. There was a sense of excitement that permeated around the man like an aura of enthusiasm. Every student had been owled with the time and date of their group, so as soon as Tuesday saw the first child appear, there was a great sense of relief. With open arms, the flannel-clad man spoke, "Welcome! Come in!"

He saw a small table with candy on it, and without even thinking, he rushed over to get a few. Handfuls that is. "Thanks Professor! Thank you for inviting me here! Or rather, writing a invitation of a sort, telling me to come here. Can't wait to meet my group!"
Little did the Part Goblin know, he'd be trapped in a group with Lizzy, who he received detention with, and Aurora, who might not remember Cody. That's probably a good thing, considering she was blindfolded at the time Cody threw a cupcake at her.
If anyone were to walk in while he was speaking, he'd smile, give a wink, and applaud himself. Hey, don't judge the boy before you get to know him! After all, he was a little curious about what the other talents were, rumors were of an anatomy! How would that work?
"Again, thanks Professor, I'll just take my magic items and make sure everything is here and present, I sure hope they didn't vanish!" The young Part Goblin exclaimed playfully, winking his left eye. He didn't care what anyone thought about him, he was prepared in general. Maybe he should've signed up for horrible and awful puns and jokes.
Regardless, his stage magic was bound to be a little spellbinding, to the highest of hopes anyways. [/font]

Lizzy walked into the rehearsal room at 5:00 on the dot, just as the note had said. Her attention was directed to the table with the supplies on it. There was a bowl of candies, an assortment of stage magic props, and a guitar, among other things. It struck Lizzy as a little odd that someone would choose to do muggle magic tricks when they all could do those same things, but for real. Perhaps whoever was playing the guitar wouldn't be opposed to playing with her. If they were singing along with it, maybe the two could try a duet?
The professor greeted her cheerily and she smiled back in reply. The only true supplies were the magic props and the guitar, so naturally she was curious as to what the others in her group would be doing. She herself would be singing, and, as the sign ups had said, trying to teach the others in her group how to sing.
Lizzy was not sure how this whole thing would go for two explicit reasons. The first was her stage fright. Lizzy had barely considered it when she had signed up to sing in front of a group of people. She had been in a choir when she was living in the muggle world. Her last performance was branded vividly in her mind. Her voice had shook as she sung, and all the eyes on her made her want to throw up. This performance would hopefully go much better though.
The second reason she was worried was the whole teaching your talent to others concept. Lizzy was not the most patient person. She could be with children younger than herself, in fact, she loved to volunteer at her library to assist with activities for the younger kids. With kids her own age and older however, she just couldn't be patient, especially when she explained it perfectly and they still couldn't understand it. It was hard to teach someone to sing though, because you could teach them the notes, but you couldn't teach them how to put a bit of their soul into the words they sang.
Lizzy gave another glance around the room, and noticed something she hadn't before. Cody was in the room, next to the table. How could she have not noticed him before? The little part-goblin had gotten her detention the last time they had seen each other. She couldn't make a big scene like their duel in the Great Hall this time. Lizzy would just have to make the best of these arrangements.

Had Enrico been in the possession of a time-turner, he would have flicked the thing to move time forward without even giving it a first thought. He had been waiting - impatiently - all day for the clock to strike five. Even during break time, he was nervously waiting for time to pass by like a cool breeze in Summer, whereas usually, he made certain to spend every second to his benefit, be it from goofing around to satisfying his gluttony, and then time would not wait for anyone, but today, it seemed like it did.
It was a Tuesday after all, the second-worst day of the week, solely because it came after Monday, it was only logical to rank them in that order. The funniest part was that it was Professor Tuesday Irons that was hosting this little event for the group that Enrico was placed with, to watch perform, and perform for, on a Tuesday. Enrico didn't stop repeating that same joke for the entire day to every one of his friends.
A couple of hours before the meeting, the little boy had forgotten himself into an unplanned, cosy nap. The bedsheets felt so warm through all that cold, and the fireplace made everything twice as comforting. His eyes shut close and he didn't see the world for a few hours. But something had kicked him off his bed as he fell to the ground in panic. His brain quickly flashed the idea of him being late to the event, and without further ado, the Hufflepuff sprinted out of every room in the castle that eventually led him to where he was supposed to go. Throughout his entire way there, there had been instances where he completely forgot where it was all taking place, and kept getting lost, wasting more time in the process.
Once he had finally arrived, with his breath cut short and face redder than a rose, Gathorne stood by the entrance, with one hand leaning against the wall and the other holding in his heart from falling.
"Excuse me if I'm late," Enrico apologized, trying to talk as clear as he could, "it's just, I slept and then I couldn't find my socks, and I didn't want to wear the stinky ones, not part of my talent routine, you know?" He addressed everyone who was present in the room as if he was talking to a close member of his family.
Instinct took him to the table that had everything surrounding it, from the guitar he asked for (hoping that no one copied his idea, as if he was the only person who could play the guitar) to candy. Delicious, ever-so-loving, candy. As he approached the treats with a big smile across his face, he could hear his mother's voice in the back of his head, shouting, telling him how he should not eat any candy. She knew he was going to disobey her, it was one of the many things she hated about having him away for nearly an entire year.
If his braces had a voice, they'd start screaming in agony at the sight of anything with sugar. A rock-solid, strawberry flavoured bean it was that flourished his mouth in sweetness that almost broke his teeth.
"So," he began to speak inappropriately whilst biting and chewing loudly, "what can y'all do exactly?"

Note: This is ONLY the FIRST trick out of five.He looked at the two kids that entered. Lizzy Solace and Enrico Gathorne. Might as well be doing an act where he attempts a Harry Houdini act. But for a twelve year old, he probably wouldn't have succeeded. "Listen. I do stage magic as well as real magic. If you even bother to be judgmental of my act, I'll chase you down after this event. I find it hard internally to go up on stage, even if I don't act that way on stage. A little forewarning, as I'm not waiting for the others to come. When I do my spells, I don't speak in gibberish... well... no. I don't... hmm... no. I speak gobbledegook. A language for goblins."
He desperately hoped that there wasn't any disaster onstage when he had his turn. Maybe fortune favors the bold? Outwardly perhaps? Internally was filled with a judgement that made the boy uneasy.
"Hey, both of you. Let me see what you all think about this trick." Cody grabbed a deck of trick cards, playing cards that was. Those cards were of a blue back. The other deck of cards with his pack were red backed or jumbo. There were a purpose for them. But now wasn't the time.
He intentionally looked like he stripped out one of every number or letter as in Ace of Diamonds, Two of Spades, Three of Clubs, Four of Clubs, Five of Spades, Six of Diamond, Seven of Heart, Eight of Diamond, Nine of Hearts, Ten of Spades, Jack of Hearts, Queen of Diamonds, King of Clubs. But there was NOT a joker card in it. When in reality, he slipped nine of hearts behind all of the cards. When he would show the cards to the two in front of him, he would smile, try to act as cunning as he could, but calm and peaceful as to try not to give it away. Or at least, his secret. These were trick cards after all.
"Alright, you see the Ace of Diamonds and all? Ok, now, I'm going to shuffle up the deck, and I'm going to let you BOTH pick your card, ONE CARD FOR THE BOTH OF YOU. Alright?" Once he said that, he quickly took out all the other cards, that weren't Nine of Hearts. He smiled, allowed them to select their card, which would be of a Nine of Hearts, but he kept his mouth shut, knowing full well what it was. "Take a moment to study that card. Now, I'm going to put it back into this pile, where you drew it from. And I'm going to reshuffle."
He shuffled, making it look as thorough and complex as he could. He drew out the first card, the nine of hearts, but quickly flicked it so they would see an average amount of hearts, almost nine, but upon sudden consideration, he took up the cards, licked his hand, slapped the same hand on a nine of heart card, and attempting to distract the viewers by trying to make him look at his feet as he slapped his forehead with the hand containing the card. It would stick, being a bit wet with saliva.
"So. Is this your card?" Cody said, pointing at the original pile of cards he had earlier, pointing at the Ace of Diamonds. No. It wouldn't be. "Hmmmm. How could this be done?" Cody said, scratching his forehead, dramatically acting as if he suddenly saw the nine of hearts on his forehead. "Is THIS your card?"

Players do not need to wait for another person's character to finish their talent before performing their own. For example, if someone else's character is playing the violin and no conclusion to the performance was mentioned, you may still post that your own character performed a dance. IC, if it doesn't make sense that two talents would be done at the same time, then you might write out your character reacting to another's talent, then showing their own once that talent is finished. There simply isn't enough time before the deadline for everyone's talents to [OOC] be performed at separate times.OOC NOTICE
This also serves as a reminder that the errand deadline is December 14th, barely over a week after the time of this notice. Please be certain to meet the word count requirement and detail your character performing their talent before that time. You may continue to role play in this thread following that date, but if the requirements are not met by then, you will receive no rewards for the errand.

She couldn't help but smile a little as another Hufflepuff boy burst into the room and apologized with a lot of extra information Lizzy could've done without. Deciding that she would rather get to know the boy than stand alone in the corner, or be forced to talk to Cody, Lizzy walked over to him. "Hi. I'm Lizzy Solace," she said quietly, just loud enough for him to hear. "As for what I can do, singing happens to be my talent. It's not exactly original, but I can do it rather well in my opinion." She hoped that she wasn't ranting, but then again, she was talking to the kid who had entered the room by talking about his socks. "What about you, what do you do?"
Then, Cody spoke up, saying he would chase down anyone who was judgmental of his talent of stage magic. Lizzy thought briefly about saying something sharp back to him, just because of their complicated mostly enemy type relationship, if that was even a thing. However, she decided against it for the simple reason of not wanting to get another detention because of him. It had happened last time at a school wide event, much like this one.
Instead, Lizzy just stood watching him perform his special talent. The card picked between her and the other boy was the nine of hearts. After an intense reshuffling and slight of hand, the card somehow ended up on Cody's forehead. Her eyebrows raised slightly, she had certainly never seen that trick before. If nothing else, she would give him originality props.
Finally after some consideration, Lizzy deemed it was her turn. If she didn't go now, she'd probably chicken out of the performance. Even so, there was still the chance of her running off the metaphorical stage. Her lack of confidence sometimes surprised her.
Walking just a few steps away from the other people in the room, she took a deep breath and began to sing. Her voice came out surprisingly steady and clear, the voice she was used to hearing when she was all by herself. Maybe she would make it through this performance. Lizzy continued to sing.
"...This night is sparkling
Don't you let it go
I'm wonderstruck
Blushing all the way home
I'll spend forever wondering if you knew
I was enchanted to meet you..."
When the song was done, Lizzy could feel herself blush, finally noticing all the eyes on her. "And that's that," she concluded. "Who's next?" Well, that went better than expected.
